As for healing bombs, if you’re specced for healing, you SHOULD be using the bomb kit and you SHOULD be taking 30 in inventions.

Fumigate really isn’t all that hard to use either. Aim, spray, turn the camera in the general direction of whatever you’re spraying. At least one of those ticks is going to hit.

The problem with bombs is their explosive radius has been nerfed to having to be right on top of the enemy or friend for them to work correctly. BIG margin for miss. (they don’t even have the same radius as my thief’s sword, i tested this) And then you have to choose two completely useless other abilities to get to that one in the trait line.

Please don’t tell people that the cone attacks like Fumigate work well because we all know it doesn’t this is one of the cone abilities that’s had serious miss problems since before launch and no it has nothing to do with the camera because the cone attacks on the other classes don’t miss like this and FT. There’s something specific to engineers that’s wrong with these two and the p/p torch ability that causes them to miss in this fashion. It doesn’t matter where my camera is on my toon it still misses 40% of the time even when trying to cure friendlies.

It’s really easy to see that it’s not working as intended.

best way to prove this is wvw when you attack sieges and gates (wich happen to be stationary targets) sometimes you just cant hit em at all no matter the angle but its not that the flamethrower is meant to not hurt them because sometimes you can actually hit them successfully

all in all the main issue is Why do we have to fully trait for support and lose big damage and limited skill slots to be on par with other classes . engineer is my favorite class but its more stressful than fun to play specially when i outperform him with my other characters who are 20-30 levels lower. hell i was doing better on my lvl 2 warrior than him on scaling lvl 80 dungeons.

Why are you just leaving your healing turret out and not immediately detonating it within it’s own water field for a stronger Aoe heal?

Why aren’t you using healing bombs?

Elixer Gun is not a sacrifice of a precious utility at all…it’s a single utility that gives you 5 more utilities, each of them extremily useful. You will be keeping regen on your teammates too with the elixer gun’s toolkit skill.

With a bomb kit and healing turret, you can stack plenty of might, as well as grant retailliation through light combo fields and blast finishers. Super Elixer removes conditions when it pulses, Fumigate removes conditions, toss elixer removes conditions if you trait for it, which you should be doing anyway.

thats precisely the point we have to mash the whole keyboard to do what other classes do with 1 or 2 keys and even detonating the turret what would that give everyone else a 2k hp heal every 20s? secondly why must i focus purely on healing and being support if everyone else can heal just fine while doing huge damage? bombs… are somewhat laughtable how would i go walking about in wvw dropping bombs if theres a swarm of people with 1200 range pulls and stuns. have you even seen the pathetic regen the elixir gun gives fun fact is the F key regen actually heals more than the super elixir as it doesnt decrese in power over time, everything you said contributes to my statement in order to do everything you mentioned i’d have to spend 20 points on at least 3 traits to do all the mentioned things. another thing is they are all stationary besides the tool belt regen so those players you want to heal are most likely to run out of the regen.

engis suck even as support healing you say lets see my healing turrret heals about 200-250 hp per 8 seconds i could stack it with the elixir gun’s heal and sacrifice a precious utility slot, Warriors have healing shouts wich by the way when i used them healed about 1900-2050 hp every 20 seconds and that was 3 shouts at a time when i used them with about 1026 Healing power. so lets compare around 500-1000 hp every 8 seconds vs 5700-6000 hp every 20-25 seconds plus over 120 might and condition and Fury and 1 condition remove and a 10 vulnerability on nearby enemies(900 range). guardians have their tome of courage with a 30s full hp heal regeneration and protection plus the ton of passive boons and the active ones so how the heck does an engineer compare to that? needless to say theres even better healing and support classes than those previously mentioned so yeah tell wheres engis at as support now.

heres where it goes wrong if you want a class to have extreme mobility stealth versatility and evasiveness you cant just go and add it the highest damage possible. the is the least of concerns the problem is shadow steps and leaps when they have massive damage comparing to that of a warrior.

the main downside is engineers cant do anything on their own you need people tanking and distracting your target for almost anything.

cooldowns are on pve too this trait makes kits even cooler, flame blast on flamethrower equip AoE blast regen thingy when equipping elixir gun grenade spread with grenades and meh dropping a bomb with bomb kit.

I noticed my engineer in pvp drops nails whenever i make the tool kit active total of 2 nail AoEsat a time tho if i swap and activate the kit again , however in pve and wvw this doesnt happen is this intentional or perhaps im missing something in pve wvw?

i ve concluded Engineers aren,t as terrible as they seem they just require special builds
for each player’s play styles the 30% grenade nerf isnt all that noticeable if you know
how to lay those grenades on crowds i dont think they where meant to be used in 1 vs
1 situations to begin with.
elixir gun’s heal stacks with other heals wich makes up for
great regens when if mixed with for example healing turret or can use it to cover more healing gound setting the turret in one spot while you drop the elixir’s heal somewhere else. each weapon has its use.
elixir gun is a great support weapon keeping Weakness on single target and stacking up bleeds like crazy specially with the 30-50% bleed chance trait and the vulnerability trait or burn trait Ideal for those boss battles where you wish you could cut their damage by half.
Flamethrower seems to be made for tanking while dealing decent AoE ( when it doesnt bug out and miss targets nearly hugging you) at least i find my support nearly priceless in wvw now that i understand this things.

the only downside is we are too rune and sigil dependant when it comes to matching our damage with that of other classes, well i’ll update the thread after doing some pvp and wvw tests and see if that is correct or i just had the wrong gear and build.

everyone so far owes Anet an apology for all the insults and down talking without even trying out what you were given.

grenades had their damage lowered by 30% but no one noticed shrapnel grenades have 12s bleeds and 5s cooldown to top it all grenades damage now and boy you should try sigil of strength theres your extra damage. as i said grenades are more like a crowd control weapon and darn powerful at that.

sure i can make other character with diferent clsasses but i like engineers for some reason problem is engineer is near useless in wvw we hardly have condition removals, while we do damage around 1ks other classes can dish out 6k-10k damage in a blink with any build, our downed skills are a joke its impossible using the #3 skill as it takes forever to load personally i ve never used it before getting finished even using the grappling hook to cancel the first finisher , the grenade nerf doesnt seem so bad as i find them a convenient support weapon when the masses are closing in on my teammates. well we do have about 4 condition removers all with 40 seconds+ cooldown and we’d have to sacrifice a kit for each kits being our means of damage and support makes it a big loss losing a kit to undo a stun or cripple and become a sitting duck for 40 seconds.

i do appreciate being able to use sigils with kits tho it adds slighly to our preferences such as using bloodlust sigil to get some power or corruption for condition damage but its still not enough to place us on par with the other classes.

at least moving shooting bots instead of turrets would be nice i mean we got mini golems and golems why wouldnt they fit in the game technology wise. theres even airships and choppers and helicopters and tanks, and why cant engis have cannons instead of bombs fixing the grenade problems the terrible aiming odds with targeting and dealing actual damage without losing mobility.

As a solo gamer: Holidays are a pain.

Do people here ever go and look at other class forums? Elementalists have been complaining about their damage and crap skills since day one. Yes, eles are versatile, but they certainly aren’t particularly stronger than Engineers in terms of dps and are much squishier.

elementalist does..

INSANE damage INSANE if they spec for it but they are Squishy as kitten also

but Elementalist is overall better and more options ( they can ddeal more dmg if they want to they can be a better supporter and things )

elementalist have massive damage and mobility if anyone complains its because the user is too lazy to figure he has to switch attunements during combat for maximum performance.

Everyone should just re-roll to warrior. They have an innate immunity to nerfs, so you’ll never have to worry about having your effectiveness reduced. No, if anything, you’ll just have it continually increased!

No, apparently warrior is underpowered! They wont be balanced until they can deal 50k damage on an auto-attack!

what kills warrior isnt that they are lacking in the damage department but that other classes wipe their rears with conditions inflicted on them while warrior cant remove nearly as many conditions as others. and the terrible reliability on pure melee when everyone can spam leaps and whatever. last but not least vit vs armor output what is the point in having 30k hp if you ll lose it just as fast.

i ve played engineer warrior elementalist dint win a single pvp game , made a thief hoo boy i even got 18 kills and plus per round. im a pro with 2 hours game experience as thief totally was my mad skills and not the class at all.

and here i was thinking carriers can use evade rolls/ the problem with skill 2 is the same as flame thrower if your camera isnt perfectly facing the target it will miss for some reason.

Have you tried putting away your gun?

of course but lets say i catch up to carrier what the heck do i do then if the class skill is on cooldown , the knockdown snowball shot will miss as its slow and short ranged and i have to pull out my rifle to use it wich will give carrier 3 seconds more of advantage.even if i close up to them as rifle man i cant do anything because i need to pull out the rifle to attack.

missed tht detail as i only played warrior but tried another class recently. the only thing i think could use help is the gift carriers they ll never be captured since they run just as fast as if they wasnt carrying anything , so the scoring system becomes a lets camp at gift spawn while gift carrier runs to base grab new gift and repeat.

wintersday is still fun anyway aint all about snowball fight

are there other ways of getting gifts cant do puzzles nor music since im running at 9-12 fps?

Winterday is nice and all but snowball mayhem is unfair and heres why if the purpose of the event if for everyone to fight on equal footing without using their skills, why are mesmers allowed to use clones why are elementalists allowed to summon elementals and how does the tanky rifle build even stop someone running with a gift if riflemen Walk with the weapon out and the knockdown rolling snowball is too slow plus short ranged.

i can see everyone mamking mesmers or eles now for this event and chugging stuff away in bank for their mains.

Racials aren’t meant to be better than class skills.

however some racials are overwhelming such as:

Reaper of grenth AoE poison and chill.

Hounds of Balthazar:
cause burning to foes on every attack and use leap attack which hits enemies in the area of effect.
The leap attack counts as Leap Finisher.
At level 80, each hound has about 6000 health and 2000 armor, and their attacks deals approximately 450-500 damage (about 700 on critical hits), plus 750 burning damage each second. The leap attack deals about 1800-2000 damage.

the Charrzooka has decent range damage and 2 knockdowns wich can aid in crowd controlling.

Grasping Vines-root target in place until they are destroyed this skill particulary is massive as in the heat of battle players will think they got immobilized and realize skills wont free them until its too late.

well you can be a support/healer player you just have to find out the proper build it i for example am a healer/buffer in WvW as Warrior now thats something not many had seen in other MMOs. and i assure you my support is noticeable healing 6k hp every 10 seconds (sometimes more) to the zerg.(wich gets all sieges aiming at me often >_<)

I’d like to thank the staff behind guild wars 2 that includeds forums servers etc.

sure the game has its annoying bugs that makes us wanna rip other players apart and go on a rampage but that still doesnt take from the game it is fun and addictive and has a unique feel i cant go back to playing the other mediocre MMOs i used to (believe me i tried for old times sake and quitted at 10 minutes of gameplay)

people dont seem to appreciate the hard work the team is putting up for us Daily updates is something i hadn’t seen in other MMOs specially without interrupting gameplay all you require is a quick restart and bam your new build is done,no more 3 hours downtime on the game for a 1 mb download. Forum moderators also put up with all our whining and read through most threads that has a Huge value, another thing is that other games wouldnt announce incoming changes until they was done sometimes your game was just restarted and you were left puzzled wondering if it was an error in your client.

sure the game seems to lack content at times but the game barely came out of beta and already added some content plus adding content without fixing the current bugs would mean any new added content would probably end up broken.

so i give a big Thank You and thumbs up to the game team for their non stop hard work.

Pain Inverter- 5 seconds retaliation and confusion in 360 range.

and the Only actually possibly useful skill if you dint have better skills to use

Radiation Field-Poison and weakness 3s per pulse with a 15 second durationand generates combo field.

worse of them all are the golems they all die in a blink the defense golem isnt worth the 30 trait points as it is sluggish and only punches for attack with mediocre damage as for the shield bubbble he hardly ever uses it, the golem suit is an even worse joke why use that if you can use the only actually useful golem the attack golem.

well its not like i charge into thieves and try kill them as im a supportive player they pretty much have several shadow steps and about 33% movement speed without swift so yeah running isnt gonna work. and if they are stealthed how the hell will i anticipate the burst, the only one easily seen is the whirlwind.

fix thiefs the perma stealth is overpowering specially since it removes conditions and regens with traits. not only that but the fact they have massive damage with it they are currently the highest damage class followed by mesmers thanks to their illusions and stealths as well wich kills the targetting. also the class is called THIEF not ASSASIN or NINJA or SHADOW, they all are diferent things being sneaky and agile is one thing and being a ghost is another.

stealth is just overpowered 3 seconds sure as the thief appears it takes 1-2 seconds to spot him enough time to stealth again so you basically have 1 second to shoot a stun/interrupt/immobilize and hope it hits him fast enough before he vanishes. so yea using 3 seconds cooldown as excuse isnt gonna fool anyone. specially when your stealth can remove conditions and regen. thief goes invi with 40% health pops up with 80%-100%.

heres the deal at most it will either add no time to the stances or it will add 1 Second.but it wont because what is 20% of 4 seconds. As for frenzy just get 30 points on arm and get the Quickness passive wich garantees same effect when target has low hp without makin you take double damage.

Fast hands should be either implemented on the warrior by default or at the 5 point traits as warriors rely on melee mostly.

set Precision and Critical damage% in the Arms trait how come thiefs and mesmers the most dominant pvp races have their crit damage and precision set as one, its no wonder they are overpowering everyone if they can get up to like 140%-200%+ critical damage stacked.

the greatsword 5 skill is useless make it could as a Leap finisher and at least cripple .

the bull charge is broken 90% the time i use it i run through my target not knocking them or hitting them at all even when they are standing still wich baffles me greatly

Thick Skin should be scaling as the warrior’s health drops maybe if warrior will only rely on brute force.
