The amount of liars, and fanboys here is insane.
First I would like to point out that the people who say they’re are leaving zones 10 levels higher are completely full of crap. Either you’re abusing some type of system, or buying gems to buy crafting mats to level, even if then. You only get 10-15 levels at 400.

Second did anyone bother reading the whole thread before typing, or are you people really that ignorant? All of you fanboys are saying he’s leveling wrong, but he’s doing everything you are suggesting.

I came across this problem as well, and I made several human characters, and I always end up at 12-14 level at Queensdale All of them after exploring the map, mining nodes, and all the other stuff. I think the problem is they haven’t balanced out the XP, because everything gives you xp, and they expect you to do everything. Well maybe I don’t want to do everything? Maybe I want to save the cities last to explore, maybe I don’t want to crafting until I build up enough materials? Maybe the DE don’t spawn often enough for me to do them?

Going through queensdale I maybe do 2-3 DE per character. I don’t skip content, I don’t just bee line through the hearts. I only done the big shadow demon the swamp ONCE, and only did the champion oakheart ONCE. This is wrong out of 1-4 characters I only did those DE once. That’s sad.

I shouldn’t have to back track into other lower level areas just to catch up to move on the appropriate level. I don’t want to explore the Norn starting area. I want to save that for my Norn, not my human.

The major problems with this game is that DE don’t spawn often enough for some players, or they’re not next to them, because they’re on the other side of the map. This idea of everything you do gets you XP is a terrible one, because then players/Anet will expect you to DO EVERYTHING. This isn’t okay with me, because I don’t enjoy crafting I think it’s pointless. So there’s a big chunk of experience I am missing right there. The XP in this game is insanely inbalance, and requires you to do every little thing. This a wrong way to design a game.

totally agree it is extremely punishing specially for those focused on story mode i always end up having my quests 9-16 levels higher than i am wich forces me to back track and grind/wait 30 mins for whatever event to start just to get what a meager 10-15% exp maybe 30% if its one of those big events like maw wich is pretty much 5 events in one.
i just made a new Charr hes level 13 and my quest is at lvl 19 basically if a mob sneezes or a fly rests on my shoulder im dead since hes engineer wich is not the most defensive class around.

this has always bothered me Why is there a Exp on kills Only boosters when killing stuff is so punishingly unrewarding heck make those boosters boost y our overall exp gain and then i might consider buying a few.

well here was one of my experiences i was hitting 500-700 damage with 4000+ Attack and 1200 with crits having 63% crit damage .

the current setup would be ok if thiefs had Light armor and somewhat less damage as it is not even having 3500 Armor will allow you to last 4 seconds against a slightly skilled thief (this class barely requires skill as far as i ve played) my most common kills are at 0.4 of a second with dagger 3-6 seconds spamming 3 with dual pistols doing 5k sometimes more per burst.

Am I the only one with this bug?

well i noticed something even more anoying, the smoke combo field i shoot my target it pops up Blind text but target gets no effect apparently combo blind has a cooldown or something wich kills the purpose of using overcharged shot even more thats mainly why i needed overcharged shot to work at anytime so i could use it with my rifle.

oh… what if he does have Dawn/Dusk in his loot table ?

we still get nothing, whites, junk and blues out of all champ mobs i dont really have hopes for this particular champ lol. but if anyone wants to kill him do it at the right time at least not while the enemy is trying to use him as a distraction to make your whole server focus on the breakout event and they go cap your whole map.

i just want fair play in wvw im tired of massive guilds rolling to lower tier servers weekly to rack up badges and whatever they get from players it is pretty much an exploit as it stands. same goes the other way around anyone can be on the #1 list simply by going to the top server.

meh the damage is ok considering you have to keep your inventory each time you wanna launch one however if you can indeed use them with siege golems then that needs fixing cuz the damage output will be massive on a glass cannon siege golem.

OK i literally tried using the flame turret’s secondary all day wich made my pve experience hell since my new engineer is lvl 12 and the story is at lvl 16 the flame turret’s secondary did not proc at all in the whole day and i played till about 3 AM.

i ll try it today for 20 minutes and give an updated result when im done.

Elixir Gun’s ultimate trait is Kit Refinement. Dual Super Elixirs is just plain awesome. Trait for healing power and you heal about 10k hp in 10 seconds, AoE.

Hard to pass that up if you want support.

Kit refinement is a trait for all kits, about the only decent one we have that works on all.
By no means was it designed to be stronger for Elixir Gun than for other kits.

And 10 k in 10 seconds? before the ‘fix’ perhaps. Now it does nowhere near that.
With zero healing power I think it heals about 175 per tick or something, and healing power scales baaaad.
So even when doubled up with Kit Refinement I doubt you reach 1k per second.
And if you do, you have sacrificed ALL versatility for healing, you can’t have any damage left.

But this aside, my main point is: a wonderfull trait like Kit Refinement is not enough to say it’s the EG’s ‘ultimate’ trait, sorry.
There has to be something more, like Grenadier, Elixir-Infused Bombs and indeed Juggernaut.

I’m sorry that was a rough estimate. It’s actually more like this:

3k + 500 from each blast x2 = 7k healing

Regeneration from tool kit skill is 4k healing (11k total)

Dropping Bandages are 2k each assuming you are at max hp (17k total).

If you take healing turret, that’s an extra something…not sure actually I never take it unless it’s supply crate. But either way, it’s a kitten ton of healing, especially if you take two healing turrets. Mix this with elixir throws for a bit more support.

In fact, it’s so much healing that often times I’ll just sit on a cap point in PvP and do literally nothing but cast these skills. I don’t even have to move if the player is bad enough.

you are an obvious troll Elixir gun heals nowhere near the stated values and i can confirm this as i always carry the elixir gun with me the Only use of the super exlixir is condition removal . it only heals about 175 hp per tick 200-250 with pure cleric or hybrid gear. bandages wont heal 2k hp unless you sacrifice damage and go for healing power gear and build Healing turret regens Do not stack they override other regens except for elixir cuz that regen doesnt count as a boon.

30 seconds cooldown and it should activate every 5 seconds with 2 seconds duration and as i said i ve tried multiple times so thats a nothing going on for over 5 minutes.

i noticed one of the reasons turrets suck besides the low damage and fire rate and survivebility, Turrets do not have Critical chance now this wouldnt be a problem if they had the damage to make up for it but as it is i do way more damage with my grenades or pistol or rifle or flamethrower than even the Elite Mortar the strongest turret so far. as it is the only turret available is the rifle turret and not even for deployment but for its tool belt skill wich can be used every 7 seconds if traited.

That Medkit’s #4 skill sometimes doesnt remove conditions ,nor the super elixir from the elixir gun’s field sometimes removes poisons or something but it leaves bleeds and immobilizes untouched most of the time or i just have bad luck with them.

it does scale with healing power however you’d need like 900+ heal power for it to heal 200-250 hp every second or every 3 seconds whatever it was.

i’d like some of the near joke master and grandmaster traits to be tweaked or lowered in rank. other than that the mortar needs 1500-1800 range and turrets need more defense and better regen. elixirs are completely unreliable as they are all random and have huge cooldowns wich makes it double punishing. elixir X should only give the tornado transformation for 20-25 seconds.

give flame blast 1000 range and make it able to be detonated mid air then it would be awesome as it would be an AoE explosion wich could be shot every about 6-5 seconds with the cooldown reduct or was it 4 seconds? anyways it would be useful at least.

There are many ways to counter ele vapor form so I dont believe it should be removed or changed since against people that know how to counter it you maybe get away 4/10 times.

The best way is to immobilize them and every profession has at least one skill that causes immobilized.
Another way is condition damage.
More advanced methods involve teamwork. (the best that has been used against me was scorpion wire + moa form + fear to push me away from the tower)

wont work if you used your immobilizes on the ele while he/she was alive and its not like eles are Unsmart they wont use vapor form blindly either. also why is it fair to need a whole team just to down 1 class?

i dont see anyone else besides elementalists being able to use portals and enter keeps/towers at will when Downed AKA Dieing.

Thief: only got a short teleport to location and stealth no skill that allow running and entering to portal.

Necromancer:only drains hp poisons and fears those near him.

Ranger: damages and dazes and can revive the pet at location so pet can start reviving the ranger.

Endure pain, distortion, anything that gives block, elixer S, anything that teleports, even dodge rolls (even stealth to an extent), etc. All of these things will get you through a door no matter what skills people are using on you. And you don’t have to wait until you’re down to use them! Amazing. How do we stand for this?

Edit: Like, as an example, look at what engineers can do for 20 seconds starting at 0:40

however it wasnt as easy as a push of a button it was a whole series Shield/block tool kit/block elixir S med kit for swiftness and condition removal and normal evades thats something everyone can pull off. you chose a bad example to compare for fairness as engineer needed main weapon slots and 2 utility slots to do what Eles can do with 1 button.

Another thing is the Thread is about Elementalist’s Downed Vapor form no one is hating on the Mist form they use while alive that one is perfectly reasonable.

Yeah thats all right. If the ele can go through the portal non shall do. If thiefs can stealth all should be able to stealth. Its also unfair that warriors can take revenge and stand up again, have more hp than others. Mesmers can still make incredible damage in downstate, Guardians can prevent the frist stomp …..

Also vapor form is not a gurantee to get away. The ele can still be rooted in place while in Vapor so L2P and dont qq so mutch

you see everyclass have pros and cons.

Grenadier build worked like a charm for me,Firearm’s 5 point sub trait is a must have tho 33% bleed chance on crit. i think you ll like the Kit refinement trait with your elixir gun as it ll allow you to use 2 super elixirs.

i get a bug sometimes wich i become completely unable to target at all except for the target on hitting monster or player neither tab nor nearest enemy nor clicking works when this happens only hitting the target will lock it.

Na kids play this game cant do that. Besides the outrage of the big massive Jabbu the Hut body styles. Love to see some gaint Norn Blob go flopping by with all those rolls of fat jiggling around. That there is a ball of ectoplasm.
Or the skinny Asurans that disappear when they turn sideways.

Now I am all for it but this isnt a rated 18+ game and not all people and cultures respect the naked body for what I or you see it as.

Thats where Mature Servers with age verification would come into place i think it would be insteresting having mature servers the problem would be the roleplayers playing as asura since asura are so small they kinda look like kids.

…How about Exchanging Engineer’s Flash Grenade for a Concussion Grenade wich instead of a useless blinds causes Confusion 3-4 seconds with 16-18 seconds cooldown, because lets be honest the blind grenade is gonna be useful even if the blind lasted for an hour as blind gets immediatedly removed on next attack.

why would you be Engineer when you can be ele for crowd destruction and high surviveability and mobility or Thief for insane mobility perma stealth with a 7k damage minimun garanteed backstab and 1v1 near insta kill instakill on glass cannons. or can go guardian for ultimate defense and still be able to deal big damage and keep your allies full of boons.

Just Do Not make an engineer whoever started playing the game and sees this. Engi is completely useless 1 vs 1 and in groups besides the useless damage engi has no survivability unless you exchage 90% damage wich then leaves you harmless

Pro tip: go to your characters’s selection screen Select your Engineer click on the delete button and make a thief or mesmer or guardian or something as you will be completely useless in wvw as engineer even with full exotic armor and weapons.
