I’ve actually faced a few hackers in my time. They were all clearly using speed hacks. My entire team reported the person, and I added their accounts to my block list. A week or so later I didn’t see the hackers logging on anymore. Pretty standard fare, really.

I might be wrong here, but I dont think this is a bug.
In the video you provided (Purple Miku soloing), he pulled in on purpose I think.

I think the Risen Knight follows you through the whole dungeon if you choose not to kill him, so following you into GL’s arena is only logical.

If it were a 7-10 second stunbreak utility skill, I’d absolutely agree that it would be over the top. The reality is, however, that many times a Necromancer doesn’t have the luxury of sitting on a bar of Life Force and waiting for a CC before activating. You will pre-empt some CC’s, you will eat others, and many times you will use DS offensively and waste the stunbreak entirely. I think realistically the actual stunbreak functionality here will only be exercised maybe once every 4 casts of DS or so, which is very reasonable.

I think this is a great change and will be very balanced. It’s nice when GM traits are worth getting.

Is there a runeset that allows for enough precision to run berzerker gear and reliably crit even without the trait? Or even 2/0/6/0/6 with unholy sanctuary. (may have to swap in precision gear for that one).

Pack is the go-to rune for that sort of build. You can get to around 66% crit chance in SPvP when you have Fury.

Yeah, I think those two are related. It seems something is weird with how he’s tracking his targets and it’s causing his Shadow Step and Bubble to miss by large margins.

I’m also going to add the weird pathfinding bugs to the list that are causing mobs to teleport to GL’s arena.

The right way to use it is to not use it. Sorry, it’s true; they’re bad right now in all formats. The only life stealing skill really worth being used is Dagger 2 for the added sustain on power builds.

I’ve seen this issue before, but it only happens when there are issues connecting to the login server ANet-side.

What I’m curious about is if it’s more prevalent since the 3/31 patch or if it’s just coincidence that it happened afterward (lots of people patching, etc). I ran a fractal series last night and everything seemed fine, so I’m not sure. More information would be helpful!

Thaumanova fractal turrets are working again. Asura room still bugged.

Sweet, glad that they managed to address that turret issue. I reported that in my last round of bugs. What’s wrong with the Asura room? Are you talking about how the door is open even without saving the Asura engineers?

Rising Dusk, I know it was introduced in an earlier patch, but I think that Lupi’s bubble attack should be on that list as well. His phase 3 AoE attack seems to function more accurately as well (same time as bubble broke), so it might be a good idea to note that so they don’t change it back (although I wouldn’t necessarily mind them changing it back, either — it’s a slight difficulty increase, after all). Unless you’ve already sent them something about this.

I’ve seen him acting weird with his bubble (completely missing the target for example). Can you describe in detail what you think is buggy about it?

Also, Spoj, I haven’t seen what you’re referring to with the shadowstep teleporting him across the room before. Is this new with this patch and is there any way you could make a video of it happening?

I wouldn’t be averse to a 0.1 second cooldown or something. That would prevent the game from allowing you to accidentally flash when you don’t want to (like when lagging), but functionally it wouldn’t change anything for when you actually need to flash it.

I don’t want to rely on the OP to constantly update his post, so I am keeping track of these bugs separately. Please keep reporting unique issues and I will collate them all together and report them directly to the developers. The following is my list so far.

  • [All] The game seems to not be rewarding all dungeon chests or end of path reward chests, even if you haven’t done dungeons in many days.
  • [CoF p1] Ferrah cannot continue after the Slave Driver event, breaking the path (we somehow managed to unbug her but not sure how).
  • [HoTW p1] Aldus Stormbringer’s adds don’t all turn hostile now, they run around as friendlies and occasionally turn hostile. They also dodge around.
  • [Arah] Lupicus’s Necrid Bolt auto-attack hits in melee range.
  • [Arah] There seems to be a strange pathfinding bug whereby mobs are teleporting into Giganticus Lupicus’s arena. See this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVP9_6r98SM
  • [Arah] Lupicus is failing to track his targets like he used to when using skills, causing skills like his Necrid Trap (Bubble) and Shadow Step to miss their targets by wide margins.
  • [Arah p4] The Grenth event never finishes when the last wraith is killed.
  • [CoE p2] The Husk event never finishes.
  • [Fractals – Thaumanova] The eastern event where you have to break open the doors to save the Asuran engineers is broken insofar as the door to the collider is open even if you never save any of the engineers.
    If there is something dungeon/fractal related that is broken as a result of this patch, especially blocking bugs, please post in this thread to let me know.

I think a lot of these issues are cascade issues due to the personal story changes to Arah. Code-paths breaking, things of that nature. Naturally, dungeons are on the low end of the totem pole in terms of QA time, so these things break. You’re probably right that this is a bug, too.

Regardless, as I said in another thread, I will be collecting all of the reported bugs including this change to GL’s Necrid Bolt and passing them onto ANet before Friday.

Seems pretty obviously unintended considering you can still 1-shot him in phase 2. If they were going to “fix” anything, it’d most definitely be that.

Realize that they don’t want to just make his projectiles unblockable because that negates the entire value of those skills against GL, but it’s not as simple to somehow make the skill unable to reflect his skills on a wall. That’s a much tougher problem to solve than making his attack that he uses work in melee. It’s really impossible for us to determine intent here.

4/4/0/0/6 power necro would lose out on an insane amount of damage. You not only gut the 50% crit chance in DS, but also 20% damage to enemies under 50%.

I agree that you really can’t lose CtD, but you could run Pack runes to at least get up to around 66% crit chance in DS without DP and with the Fury proc.

Really? I genuinely have always felt that GL wasting his animation time casting his bolt spell in melee range was a contributing factor to the boss being so easy to deal with. This change, whether it’s a bug or a fix, contributes to making him a more interesting boss. That isn’t to say I don’t think there’s more could be done, but just because something changed doesn’t mean ANet is breaking it. It is fully possible that this specific change was intentional.

The other issues appear to definitely be bugs, and will be reported as such. I’ll also be bringing up the Lupicus change regardless of my opinion on the matter so that they’re aware of it if they feel it’s a bug.

I found the match. Looks like you had an 80% change of winning (the highest odds bracket) and you deserted (by disconnecting) so the game was considered a loss for you resulting in -3 points.

Based on this it seems that the system considered his teammate disconnecting as a disconnect and loss for the whole party regardless of the fact that they reconnected and went on to win the match. That seems backwards to me.

q1. Yes. You have a 30 second (cumulative) window where you can switch during a match.

q2. Team queue punishes solo queuers with very high MMR by matching them with really bad players to balance out against teams of mediocre players. It’s kind of a crapshoot; you can get some good matches but usually as a solo queuer you will get bad matches if you’re any good. That it will also match you against mediocre premades will also punish you because you can’t coordinate as well with your solo queue team.

It was pretty easy to test before. Be stunned, and have an allied Guardian use Stand Your Ground nearby you. You’d get Stability, but still be stunned.

I don’t trust using HotM for PvE or WvW (and sometimes not even for PvP); there are too many exceptions to how things work for me to assume (for testing purposes) that the mechanics are the same for all skills, traits, conditions, rune/insignia combinations.

You can also test it on the dummies in the Silverwastes with identical test cases.

Prior to this patch, you had to preempt CC with DS in order to use the 1 stack of Stability to block that CC. Now if you get CC’d, you can pop DS in response to the CC and break out of the stun and gain the 1 stack of Stability to prevent a future CC from hitting you.

I don’t see why it’d be broken for a power build, it’s basically a choice with whether to use DS offensively or defensively.

If you’re referring to my post, I didn’t claim it was broken. I said it’d be broken if there were some way to get both FitG and DP in one build, but since they’re both GM traits it’s fine. I think it’s fairly elegant.

I actually don’t expect this to get nerfed given that you have to take it or Deathly Perception. If this were slottable in a Power build I do think it’d be horrifically imbalanced, but you have to give up too much; a Power build cannot take this. Meanwhile, a condition build can but has to give up something from Death Magic to get it… Which in itself has its own tradeoffs. I think this is pretty much the perfect solution to the FitG issue we had.

Holy crap, they listened! Guys, we did it!

This thing is an enabler so hard for condition builds, holy crap. Master of Terror will still be mandatory, but a ten second cooldown stunbreak is killer strong and totally allows Condition Necromancers to drop a stunbreak in favor of something else. Honestly, given the quick cooldown it may even enable Necromancers to drop all stunbreaks and use DS a bit more defensively.

I can’t wait to give this a try!

I’m amiable to the change for mail, what I’m staunchly opposed to is the guild bank change. I dislike having to have all of my gold on-hand. I don’t like the risk associated with potentially clicking the buy now button when checking the prices of legendaries, so I prefer to keep a majority of my gold locked away in a bank. I used to keep it in my personal bank (ideal solution), but since they removed that I now use a series of guild banks. This change will keep me from being able to access my gold freely, and I am not okay with that.

Basically every class has something reliable with which this test can be performed. Warhorn 5 on Necromancer, Scepter Air 1 on Elementalist, Symbol of Swiftness (extended, no vuln) on Guardian, etc.

My understanding is that there is a 30 second (cumulative) grace period for disconnecting players to reconnect without being given a forced loss. During this 30 second grace period, you can swap characters and come back on a different class without punishment.

I don’t think it represents the community poorly; it’s not like those guys made it into the semifinals or anything. There are so many groups not taking the PvP tournaments seriously when they are open to any team that registers, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

The finals and semifinals were extremely competitive, and I can safely say that they are very pleased with both the turnout and the coordination of the tournament.

Rising Dusk — another question I’ll need to ask. But when accounts are proven to have been hacked, the account is restored (rolled back) so would that not accomplish the same thing that you’re proposing? And wouldn’t doing what you propose make restorations a moot factor?

A restoration would indeed work, now that you mention it, so long as a restoration could be made as close to when the account was actually hacked as possible.

My second question related to money laundering is still an issue, and others have brought it up as well. Players will use liquid item assets to move “value” around, and this will have a negative effect on the economy as a whole in response. A hacker could just as easily convert 5000g into 5 Dusks and send those in one mail instead of sending the 5000g. Is there any sort of limitation also being placed on this? If not, I fear this changed system won’t do what you guys want it to do, it’ll just make things harder for the people doing things legitimately.

I will reiterate that this affects me very negatively as I store multiple thousands of gold in guild banks in order to keep it out of my wallet and better manage what I am allowing myself to spend at any given time. If I can’t access my own gold when I want it, then that’s bad and is removing legitimate functionality. I wish we had gold storage in our personal banks back; that would address my issue with this change.

So I presume that once this system is deployed, if an account is banned for being hacked, the mails in its inbox containing 500g increments will be returned to sender so the hacked players get their gold back? If not, then this really doesn’t help the hacked player at all, it just keeps the gold seller from getting the money (in itself valuable, but insufficient overall).

Also, what does this do for gold laundering? Can I send 7 precursors through the mail to circumvent the 500g limit?

I, too, am also worried about the guild vault change. I store 3000g in an assortment of guilds right now so that I don’t have the funds on-hand and thus can’t accidentally purchase very expensive items on the TP. Will I be prevented from withdrawing my gold once this change goes live, or be limited to only 500g withdrawn a week? Having access to my own gold is very important, and it’s also very important to have a place to store it outside of the wallet.

In order to bubble the Shaman has to use a skill, which has a cooldown. Skipping bubble phases happens if you have enough DPS that you push him over the boundary where he would normally bubble before the skill comes off cooldown. Once the skill comes off cooldown however he will use it immediately regardless of health.

Do we have any idea what the cooldown for that skill is? One minute?

Necromancer is bad in organized PvE. You can do anything in open world because it’s so easy and the only person whose time you’re wasting is your own, but once you group up for something (especially dungeons / fractals) you are now unarguably bringing down the team.

Necromancer is otherwise great in WvW, and strong in PvP. Every good player already recognizes that, and no one who is worth their weight will tell you otherwise. That isn’t to say that the class is perfect, and there are countless things that ANet should fix about the class, but they’re functionally pretty good.

p3 is great, but I hate the invulnerable phases on the final boss. That is one of the many places where the new break bar system would be so cool instead of an invulnerability.
