Hey! I just logged into the game today and noticed that a great many of my members are listed as “Unknown” as their last location.. I know this tends to happen when the server’s go down, and I know they went down just a few days ago for about three hours.. but I can not remember exactly what day that was… Anyone know exactly?

I want to use this opportunity to clean up my guild of inactive members…

Yes.. but I am a leader in a guild of 300+ people, I don’t want to have to friend them all…

Would it be possible to allow us to “Set Name” of Guild mates, in a similar manner as we can do to people on our friends list?

Silver Moon is a guild that has been around since basically day one, we are fully upgraded, and have 365 members with an average of 30-40 members online at any given time.

We are looking for more PvE oriented players to fill out our bi-weekly guild missions as well as dungeon runs. We have an Enjin Hosted guild site, and access to a server wide mumble. A few members also like to Dj using our Plug.DJ channel.

We have a policy that “There is no such thing as a Stupid Question!” and as such many of our members are very helpful and willing to answer all kinds of game related Questions. Also.. when it comes to be new to something.. as Apocolyte has said before" Just bring your brain and be willing to listen and learn."

Some things to know about us.

• We do NOT require 100% representation at lower ranks.

• Because we are involved in WvW, and we use a server-wide mumble, we do require that members be on the Tarnished Coast Server.

Maybe someone has asked this already.. buuut..

What is the point of rewarding us with all those silly Karma drinks after Tuesday?

They were nice when Karma was not account wide, and you could give them to a new character to give them a head start. They were extra nice when you could boost your karma gain up ~90% with Boosters Banners and Guild buffs..

But now that karma is account wide, and in a few days boosters wont work on them.. Why even have them at all? Just award us karma normally, and take the eleven (yes, 11) Different Karma containers out of the game (eventually)..

Am I missing some reason to keep them in game after Tuesday?

I’m not saying thakittens the Only cause, there are probably many causes as to why people are not getting credit for the event, this is just one possible reason to not get the event credit.

The first time i did both of these maps, I was fully invested in the event, but I “Joined” a friend mid way through, and didn’t get credit.. The second time I did these maps, I may have not participated enough to get credit. The 3rd time, I didn’t change maps, and I participated fully.. that was the time I got credit.

This is just a tip that I hope might help folks who are looking to complete the “Invasion Canceler” Achievement.. Don’t Switch maps! Don’t “Join in Overflow” on your friends..

I just completed the Achievement last night, my last two zones were Timberline Falls and Blazeridge Steppes. Every other zone that I got credit for, was a zone where I stayed in the exact same map the whole time.. The above two maps, I joined with other friends half way through the event..

Its not a sure thing.. But I am hearing other people say the same thing, and anything that can increase your chances of completing the achievement is worth a shot.. No?

Well.. You can’t please all the people all of the time anyhow… So.. that is not too much of a problem.

Not at all. Because knowing what is missing doesn’t help in actually getting the map because which map is invaded is random. I know exactly which two maps are missing but they don’t turn up in the rotation or are bugged when they do.

Yes, but I had done all 13 maps, and 2 of them bugged out, so I have to keep doing each map until the achievement triggers on the map that is bugged for me.. (The maps that bugged on me where Timberline Falls, and Blazeridge Steppes)

Looking to the Lore “experts” here to get a General opinion about how you think the citizens of Ebonhawk would react to a Krytan Noble of Canthan descent moving to the city.

I’m a part-time Role-player, and I have a Character that is a “Krytan Noble of Canthan descent” I was planning on having her move to LA, but LA is too busy.. So I have instead thought of moving her to EB.. But.. I am not sure how the people of EB would treat her..

Any insight or input would be helpful.

Well.. the thing is, just because I don’t see a problem, doesn’t mean that maybe its not a problem. I have been pretty lucky that 8/10 times I go to an event it is not on an overflow..

Really.. They should remove the ability to get a reward if you don’t participate.. but that is just my opinion..

I was trying to think of a way to “Fix” the “Zerge issue” that many people are claiming is causing the Meta events to fail*

1. Instead of having champs drop the normal “Deluxe Gear Boxes”, Make them drop “Locked Deluxe Gear Boxes.” At the end of each group event award 1-3 “Gear box Keys” and at the end of the Meta event, award players with 5-8 “Gear box Keys”

This would give players who are farming the incentive to also work to complete the event instead of just farming the Champs.

Some other things that might also help are…

1. Remove Molten and Aetherblade group events once their meta event has finished

2. De-spawn ALL Npcs from a event when it ends

Another option would be to give each group event a set number of waves (For example 3 waves) but only allow one Champion to spawn during the 2nd and 3rd wave (If there are enough people)…

• I don’t really see anyone trying to stall events for champs.. I do see champ farming.. but no event stalling.. So really this “Zerge Issue” has been a non-issue for me personally.

I’m stuck at 11/13 I have no idea what zone I have not completed, and It dosen’t help that you get the complete event success box reguarless of if you participated or not.. Please do something to solve this issue..

Break each one up into their own achievement.. with a fraction of the total points.. or put a list in the achievement.. something please!!

I think just a simple 10 Skill points = 1 Scroll would be enough. Sure could add things like Wine, Ancient log but not Globs.

My Opinion is thus.. There has to be a cost associated with transferring skill points from one character to another, otherwise they might as well just make all Skill points account bound.

I love the addition of the scroll of Knowledge to the game, Very nice to be able to give skill points to low level characters! I’d like to be able to craft them tho! I have a level 80 Mesmer who has all her skills, and already got a Bloodstone shard.. I have over 300 skill-points. So… Can we get a Mystic forge recipe to turn skill points into Scrolls of Knowledge?

Perhaps something like this..

10 Philosopher’s Stone
1 Bottle of Elonian Wine
1 Glob of Ectoplasm
1 Ancient Wood Log

This gives it a Minimum cost of 25s (For the wine) If a player needs to buy the Globs of Ectoplasm or Ancient Wood Logs that ups to cost to approx 50s to convert one skill point into one Scroll of Knowledge..

You could also consider adding more recipes that use other types of wood at a higher quantity. For example The recipe could be the same as above, but instead of 1 Ancient Wood Log, it takes 2 Elder Wood logs/5 Hard Wood Logs/10 Seasoned Wood Logs/15 Soft Wood Logs/20 Green wood logs..

If a 1:1 ratio is too even a conversion, you could exchange the 10 Philosopher’s Stone (At 1 skill points for 10) for 5 Crystals (At 3 skill points for 5)

Anyhow.. Just throwing this out there…

No one knows anything about this? Is Kiel supposed to be saying “Southsun Survival” and not “Aspect Arena”?

I aim to earn 30 Points per game. That means it would only take about 84 games to complete the achievement. If you divide that number of wins by 12 days (lets say you don’t play on the first or last day ) that come out to only 7 games per day and if you give each game 10min then that is only about 1 hour per day..

Right now I am sitting at just over 2,000 Points… This is coming from someone who started out only getting 12 points per game.. to getting 40+ per game…

People just give up too early.. they don’t want to TRY HARDER .. Even if all you did was collect Revenge Motes and Drop #1 on a player that is like 45 points RIGHT THERE There is no reason to get less than 30 points per game…

Edit: I admit, when I first saw that achievement, and after my first game, I thought it was never going to happen..

Hey.. Search for these forums is buggy as all get out .. So I am posting a new thread, Sorry if its been asked before but…

Both Ellen Kiel, and Evon Gnashblade both say they will sponsor/Establish “a weekly rotation of Southsun Survival, Sanctum Sprint, Keg Brawl, and Crab Toss” Shouldn’t Kiel be saying “Aspect Arena” instead of “Southsun Survival”? If not, then the only difference between them is the Fractal and “discount” they offer?

Am I missing something? Because frankly, I don’t care about what fractal we get (Both are interesting) and I don’t care about what bonus we get (I Don’t buy Keys, and WP costs are not a big deal to me) So the only thing that I care about is what game is going to stick around… If we are not going to lose Southsun survival no matter who I vote for.. I don’t see a reason for me to vote at all..

Different characters from your personal story take up residence in your home instance. It’s a reflection of the choices you made, therefore it needs to be instanced so that when you enter it’s loaded up with your settings.

I’m not saying don’t have an instanced location at all, what I am saying is, remove the door blocking the entrance, so that you can go up to it, and trigger your instance, or you can go past it and stay in the open; world with other players.

There is also the female Sylvari Morrigu who is involved in the Twilight Arbor Explorable mode who was once lovers with Leurent..

Just make the whole circle solid red… Problem Solved.

This is a request from a Role-player… and I think its a really simple one…. Please allow us to have un-instanced access to the Home areas in the major cities!!

I don’t think it would take too much effort. All that would be required (For some areas) is to Just remove the Doors blocking the entrance to the area, and let us walk past the “Enter this Instance.” This would allow us to stay in the open world, and have access to some areas that are really great for Role-playing.

For example, the Hospital in Salma District, the Farhar in Hero’s Canton, or the lab equipment in Applied Development Lab…

Please, this would make RPing in the cities so much better, open and inclusive if we didn’t have to go into instances just to visit these areas. It would also have ZERO negative effect on anyone in the game.

Tiers matter a lot less in cooking that the other crafting professions. A weaponsmith is never going to need copper ore when crafting lv400 weapons but a chef can and does need materials from other tiers even if they are making lv400 items.

This is true.. I hadn’t thought about it that way..

Why should there be an unknown factor? Is there an Unknown factor when I harvest a Gold Ore node, or when you harvest from a Tukawa Sapling? No. I know exactly what kind of wood and Ore I’m going to get from those Nodes.. No so for most harvesting nodes..

If they want to keep an “unknown factor” about it, that is fine.. but having 5-10 possible items come out of one node seems excessive to me.

It also seems excessive to have items from T1 as loot drops all the way up to T4 nodes. I could See T1 modes only doing T1, and T2 dropping T2/T1 with T3 dropping T3/T2 and finally T4 dropping T4/T3 .. Gives you more opportunities to find what your looking for, while still narrowing down the field..

Yea.. I suppose what I said above it why they are worth so much more… You can’t say “Hey.. I need Sesame Seeds.. Let me go harvest those…” because at the end of the day you might only get 2 or 3 of them and a mixed bag of all kinds of other things…

I don’t even know how to start this thread.. I am just so irritated by Plant Gathering…

Today I was in Bloodtide Coast, and I hit a plant node, and got a Carrot.. a Carrot from a “Variegated Taproots” node… Carrots already have their own node.. If I wanted carrots, I could go to the newbie zone, and harvest Carrots from there..

I have to wonder.. Why are cooking materials so random, but the other two harvesting Materials, not so much so? If I want Mithril Ore, I go out looking for Mithril ore.. If I want Seasoned wood, I go out looking for specific trees to get that wood.

I can not do the same with cooking materials… its FAR to random and FAR to wide a search window to try to find what I am looking for!

What I would like to see is “group nodes” (Nodes that can give more than 1 harvest-able item) thinned down a little bit… For example..

The 1st tier “Herb Patch” and “Herb Seedlings” are the location to get 5 different cooking items(Peppercorn, Garlic, Parsley, Thyme, and Vanilla) Of those 5 items 3 (Peppercorn, Parsley and Thyme) can be found in BOTH nodes, why not combine those two nodes into one, do away with “herb Seedlings” and just give us one kind of Herb patch?

Why have they made it so hard to “Target” harvest food items?

When we go from Tier 1 to Tier 2 food items, we still see Peppercorn, Garlic, Parsley, Thyme, and Carrots on the loot table for tier 2 harvesting nodes. We also see sage leaves obtainable from 2 different nodes.

I think you might see where I am going.. By the time we get to tier 4, “Mature Herbs” you have got 10 items that can be harvested from that one node.. of those items 8 are Their 1, 2, and 3 Herbs, meaning you have a 20% chance when harvesting a tier 4 node to get a tier 4 material..

We as players have to upgrade our Plant harvesting tools, and pay more money not so that we can get higher tier mats.. but so that we can have a Chance at getting high tier mats..

I guess long story short.. if your going to put multiple harvesting items into one node.. First, make sure the node only drops item of its own tier, not lower, and make it so that we only need to find 1 kind of node to find a food item…

Yes, Please allow us to throw some of these into the Mystic Toilet to turn them into the more useful version!

Just want to point out that people keep saying “The rightful King of Ascalon” can end the Curse.. the wiki actually says…
