You are probably missing the full mailbox one like I am. I can only hold 8 messages so I cannot get 10/10… There are a lot of people that have this issue.

I actually let my mailbox fill up just to get this one.

I’ve gone through every category. They all have check marks. Still says 82/83.

Network Lag [Merged]

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: RoyHarmon.5398

RoyHarmon.5398

Also having issues since the Wintersday patch pretty much. Game will just stop responding then it all comes in at once after 5-10 seconds delay. I play 3 MMO’s and none of the others have problems, just GW2. Also live in Michigan using Comcast which I never have problems with. Even signed up for Pingzapper and still have the same problem.

Sounds kind of like what I’ve been seeing.

Ever since the Wintersday patch, I’ve seen intermittent “input lag” for 5-15 seconds, and when this happens, my wife (playing next to me on the same network) shows that my character is running off in a random direction. Finally, when the lag ends, my character is teleported back to where I was originally, and my skills suddenly work again. This was particularly frustrating in WvW while trying to get my monthly achievement. Also, when entering/leaving the water with my ranger, the pet’s F2 skill is often empty for several seconds, presumably while the game server/client determines whether it’s an aquatic or terrestrial pet.

I’ve tested my connection with Pingtest.net, Speedtest.net, PingPlotter, etc., and found no issues whatsoever. My frame rates are consistently >30fps in the most crowded areas (including WvW), but I don’t think any of these problems would be caused by video lag, anyway.

My wife has since noticed that her character has been experiencing some strange behavior in-game as well. For instance, she tried to jump from a vista in Timberline Falls and land in the water below, but she didn’t quite make it (on her screen). I went to revive her, but I found her floating in the water. On her screen, she was still lying partway up a very steep slope, even as her health bar refilled, and I was in the water far below. Perhaps more surprisingly, during the time she was lying there out of the water, her displayed weapon was a harpoon gun.

All these things considered, I’ve begun to suspect that it may in fact be a problem with the server being confused. If she had landed in the water (as evidenced by what I saw), she should have survived. If she had landed on the hillside, she shouldn’t have her harpoon gun displayed while defeated, and I shouldn’t have found her in the water. If the problem had been caused by a delay in communication, it should have resolved itself at some point in the five minutes it took me to cross the map to get to her.

I hope the problem is resolved soon.

I’ve been getting this ever since the Wintersday update, though I know that wasn’t the case for you. I’ve also been experiencing it in other places, not just WvW. Nothing changed on my end; hardware and software are all the same, as far as I can tell.

If anyone has ideas about finding/solving the problem, let me know. If there are settings somewhere that might have changed themselves, I don’t know what they would be.

My router has remained untouched all the while, and the cable modem likewise. The connection speed was “upgraded” a while back, but the cable modem (my own Surfboard SB6121) and router (Netgear WPN824v3) are unchanged. My antivirus settings haven’t changed, either, nor have I installed any new programs that I can think of.

No rewards from Tixx in LA

RoyHarmon.5398

Same thing happened to me. I was in the Heart of the Mists and talked to him. I accepted a gift, but didn’t get anything. I then went over to the chest and got some PvP finishers and stuff.

However, when I went to LA Tixx wouldn’t give me gifts and the chest can’t be opened. I would have at least wanted to know if the PvP and PvE chests are shared before choosing one… =(

My wife has been ranting about this for more than an hour. I really hope they decide to give everyone a PvP and a PvE reward. As it is, she has declared that she’ll never PvP again, but I think that’s silly. I doubt it’ll really influence her actions, but it will cause her to remember this and complain again every time she enters the Heart of the Mists.

If she had received any kind of warning that accepting the reward in the Heart of the Mists would preclude her getting the PvE version, she would have skipped it in a heartbeat. The PvE items are FAR superior to the PvP ones. I mean, really… The PvP back piece doesn’t do anything (besides look like its more functional PvE counterpart), and the finishers are… Well, they’re finishers; what else needs to be said? I mean, a 15-slot bag is useful even in PvP (to hold, for instance, two sets of finishers that neither stack nor deposit into the PvP locker— hint, hint).

I guess if someone really wanted a PvP back item, they just won big (assuming they didn’t open the chest in Lion’s Arch, of course). Other than that, I can’t see how the rewards were anywhere near comparable. Aside from the back items, there were finishers in PvP, and there were a 15-slot bag and three weapon skins in PvE. Okay, so you can drop gifts and snowmen on your enemies for up to 6 hours. After those 6 hours, it’s like noon on December 25; your presents are over. Your friends in Lion’s Arch are the slightly older kids who saved their presents to slowly open them after everyone else, because their gifts are still there.

Right mouse button targeting

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: RoyHarmon.5398

RoyHarmon.5398

OMG, I’m so glad its not just me. I thought I had ghosts in the machine. I would be attacking someone and all of a sudden I would lose the target and stand there doing nothing.

I found targeting in general to be broken. Sometimes my first attack won’t be on my selected target. My ranger will fire a shot into the ground despite having a selected target. The targeting problem is then compounded by a problem where you want to select nearest target, but it doesn’t. It selects the second nearest. So you reselect the nearest target and it still fires on the other target you first selected, the second shot will taget the newest and nearest target and now you have 2 enemies after you.

I get so frustrated with the targeting system. Just last night, I kept trying to target the nearest enemy (one of several Flame Legion attackers) and both the auto-target and the bound “target nearest enemy” hotkey kept choosing deer instead. I finally determined that those deer must actually be Flame Legion spies, and the game’s UI was my only way of knowing who was secretly working against me. Fortunately, I had my wife with me, so she was able to back me up against the ninja deer.

Honestly, I think targeting is the system that most desperately needs attention. Sure, it would be nice to have more content every month, or balanced skills, or a few more of the basic PvP features, or guesting, or other bug fixes, but what does it matter when you can’t even aim your weapon properly?

I mean, on the most basic level, the game is about our characters doing things to other characters or objects with our skills. This usually involves weapons (literal or environmental) and targets. How weird would it be if we tried to hit something with an axe and instead threw a rock at it? Or throw a jar of bees when we try to fire a shortbow? If an elementalist tried to switch to Air Attunement and got Earth instead? If a necromancer tried to lay down a well and instead summoned a blood fiend?

Trying to shoot at a Flame Legion Axe Fiend and instead targeting a doe or a stag is not so different from trying to use one skill and have the game choose another. Why would either be tolerated?

Reporting teleporting bots

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: RoyHarmon.5398

RoyHarmon.5398

I would have simply replied to this thread if it hadn’t been locked before I had a chance to post, but here’s a brief run-down:

The Problem: Some players (myself included) have noticed bots that spawn on top of a resource node, harvest it, and teleport away. They’re gone too quickly to be reported easily, and the alternative of sending a screenshot is less convenient… I mean, personally, I’m far too lazy for that; fortunately, I found a workaround that I like.

My Solution: If you can get a quick glance at the name (and it isn’t something garbled and hard to remember, like “Xqw Ildlld”), just add them to your contact list. Then right-click the name, report, and remove. It’s not a perfect solution since it requires a moment to see the name and commit it to short-term memory, but it’s quicker than submitting a screenshot to Support; if it’s easier, try taking (and referring to) the screenshot as an alternative to memorizing the name, and the contact list method still saves the time of submitting the image. You could also try entering it in the “/w” channel (without actually sending a message) and right-clicking it there, if you find that preferable to the contact list method.

TL;DR: If you’re trying to report a bot in-game, you’re not limited to right-clicking them in the target display. Typing the name into your contact list or whisper channel also allows you to right-click report! Or, of course, submit a screenshot to support. Whichever you prefer.

I hope this helps.

Targetting needs to be redone all over imo,its just crap.I always target pets or illusions first,or even better..enemys Further away then the nearest ( im no clicker, and shouldnt need to click to select a target,i tab like in every mmo, here it just works like crap ).And yes my targetting settings are set “correct” ive tried messing with it but it never gets any better. Also a Name colour change for gods sake when youve targeted someone.Seriously though,i stil llove gw but imo it has the worst targetting system from Any mmo i played,gw1 target system was also hell of a lot better.

In addition to the right-click thing, I really wish the “target closest enemy” hotkey worked as expected. I try to target the thing in front of me, and instead it chooses the guy behind him and to the left. Also, I’ve had the target suddenly change when I’m sure I didn’t actually press a button or click anything, but I can’t prove it.

Issue with targeting

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

RoyHarmon.5398

And, why, when using ANY ranged weapon, does a character (out of the blue) just start attacking ANYTHING in range (rabbits, mosquitos, deer) while ignoring the actual FOES that are attacking you!! I can’t begin to count the times that I’ve targeted a Dredge (for example) but the AI actually attacked a doe and ignored the Dredge totally. (NO “right click” issue, no “autoattack” issue). Something is haywire in the AI’s “targeting” code.

Perhaps they were caught in the crossfire?

OK, can we remove or adjust DR now? Some of us with level 80s have only a few places to farm (sarcasm mode) and would prefer to be able to collect mats for crafting without being forced to change zones every hour – its not like we have much choice of level 80 zones.

Change zones? Try just a different spot in the same zone. Some of those places are pretty big.

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen the DR system kick in, but maybe I’m just too ADD for that. I start in one area, get caught up in an event, and end up on the other side of the zone. Then I somehow get turned in another direction because I like the scenery, and pretty soon, I’m about as far from where I started as I could go without leaving the zone. It’s fun, but I’m not intentionally farming materials, so maybe I’m missing out on that. Personally, I’d rather have the fun than the “everything but the precursor” action, but to each his own, and it takes all kinds…

And for my part, I’ve only seen a couple of gold-sellers in overflow servers, though I did see quite a few more during the invite-a-new-goldselling-accountfriend weekend thing. And I personally haven’t seen any of the ranger (+ nameless pet) trains that were so ubiquitous a few weeks ago.

The only complaint I have with the Trading Post is that the “Only Show Available” checkbox doesn’t seem to work at all, assuming I understand the word “available.” It still shows items which have 0 available.

I would also offer a suggestion (not a complaint): I think I may remember a checkbox for “Only show usable by me” or something like that from one of the betas, and if it works properly, that would be awesome. Basically a filter that can exclude items with “Item not useable by your profession” or “Requires level <greater than mine>.” Optional, obviously, but useful for many situations.

"Revive" skills, downed vs. defeated.

in Suggestions

Posted by: RoyHarmon.5398

RoyHarmon.5398

As most are aware, there are some utility skills available that “revive allies.” In my experience, and from what I’ve read and heard, they only work for downed allies, not defeated ones. There may be exceptions, but I’m not aware of any; if I’m wrong, I’d be happy to know which skills work for defeated players, so I hope someone will tell me.
For reference, I’ll link the skills here.
Guardian: Signet of Mercy
Ranger: ‘Search and Rescue,’ Nature’s Renewal
Elementalist: Glyph of Renewal
Necromancer: Signet of Undeath
Engineer: Toss Elixir R
Warrior: Battle Standard

I can understand its current function for the mesmer skill, Illusion of Life, since the mechanics limit the skill somewhat in that regard. Not trying to single you out, mesmers, but it seems like this skill is working as intended, and its intent seems pretty intuitive. It’s like being downed, but with your normal abilities. I approve.

However, for the rest of them…

My personal opinion is that they should be changed to revive defeated allies, too. I think the penalty for defeat (broken armor and shame) is already sufficient without the extra revival time, and the recharge times on these skills seem disproportionately long, especially in PvE (where reviving an ally hurts nobody, unless you count hostile NPCs, but I don’t hear them complaining on forums). I haven’t played a lot of PvP, but from what I’ve seen, the presence of a respawn timer means there’s no reason to use these skills (kind of like taking a Resurrection Signet in Alliance Battles).

As it is, the window in which these skills are useful is so small, it’s frustrating. Signet of Mercy has almost a four-second activation time, too, so it would actually be quicker in most cases to simply walk over and press F. There are many scenarios in which a player is downed several times before being defeated (I’m thinking of the Champion Karka, among others), and those make Signet of Mercy even more useless. Once you use it, it’s on recharge for several minutes. If you wait until they’re defeated, the signet doesn’t work.

So I propose the following:
Reduce recharge or activation times when these skills are used on downed allies. If it’s deemed necessary, increase recharge or activation times when they’re used on defeated allies. But please… Make them work on defeated allies.

This may be tricky to implement on some of those skills, like “Battle Standard,” but it wouldn’t be impossible. It’s an elite, anyway, so it would be harder to call it overpowered due to this proposed change. Regardless, I still think it’s worth amending whichever skills would be practical. Please consider this.

No range/sight > skills go CD ruins a concept

RoyHarmon.5398

This is a problem because, depending on certain situations at hand, judgeing your range distance can be relentless at times. depending on the action going on on screen and terrain.

I rather see target adjusting to be less annoying. Meaning how come the auto target goes off in the distance and targets another foe that you thought was out of your range attack, and pulls it into you, after you where locked on the other target that was in front of you beating on you?

So many times I would be attacking the foe that is right in my face standing on my toes. Then for some reason my attack will go past the target that I am suppose to be attacking, and it pulls another one in.WTF is this shiat?

PLEASE FIX

I’ve noticed that my target changes when my cursor is hovering over someone (player, NPC, enemy, neutral creature, whatever) and I activate a skill. This is NOT the same as the right-click problem described in many threads already (in which right-clicking to turn the camera actually changes the target); I’ve noticed this happening when I’m careful not to click anything at all and activate the skill by pressing a number key.

In fact, I think the list of issues with the targeting system is my biggest complaint with this game (which I otherwise love). Unless it’s the bugs involving dungeon disconnects/kicks. But that’s another thread entirely.

In the original Guild Wars, the skill wasn’t isn’t wasted; instead, there was an annoying (but useful) little chirp sound and an error message.

The only reason I can see for not having the same mechanism here is that those skills would have been completely wasted, without exception, if used on a target too far away. In GW2, however, there are situations in which a skill targeting someone out of range could actually affect another target in between. This may not apply to every skill (and certainly not in every situation), but it’s probably relevant enough to complicate things.

Issue with targeting

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: RoyHarmon.5398

RoyHarmon.5398

Okay so I’ve noticed several issues with targeting and I’m going to point out the biggest one that’s been driving me crazy. There appears to be a “lag” with the targeting.
For instance, if I pick a target and start casting within a couple seconds, my elementalist will fire a fireball into the ground as if I did not have a target selected (or start attacking a different target if I have autotargeting on!). The same “lag” applies to switching targets (and untargeting) I will change my target just to continue firing at the other one.

I don’t know about that part, but…

Also, sometimes my character will just STOP autoattacking while strafing. I don’t know if that’s actually got anything to do with it.

This could have something to do with range. I’ve noticed that my guardian stops attacking if I move out of range and starts again if I move back into range.

Fractals causing crashes?

Last night, I was in the fractal with all the krait. We had been turned into dolphins and had nearly found our way back to human form when I realized that half of my armor had completely broken. I double-clicked an instant repair canister and the client crashed.

When I loaded the game again, I was standing in Lion’s Arch, unable to join my group. I tried to enter the gate and was presented with the same dialog as when I first started, except the level was higher because it wasn’t considering those in my party with a lower fractal level. Since the dungeon didn’t give any indication that I had anything to do with an instance of it, I thought I could switch characters and craft something. But wait! I was the party leader, and while the game may have forgotten that I was ever a member of the party, it definitely did NOT forget that I was its leader. The rest of the party was promptly booted.

The moral of the story: If you get disconnected from a fractal, don’t expect to be doing anything for a while. Also, don’t try to instantly repair your dolphin.

Please do not expect to see the precursor scavenger hunt in the next patch. I may be awesome, but I am still only human and this is a fairly large amount of work to get done and done right. I imagine it would take far more time to plan and implement such a scavenger hunt than it would to actually complete it. Sounds like a legendary task.

I’ve not played my necromancer enough to take minions into water, but I’ve noticed it once or twice from others’ minions.

This thread describes a similar problem, I think.

Positional audio for raindrops

I’ve been hearing a strange clicking noise for a while now, just intermittently. At first, I thought it was just some weird static or a broken sound effect. However, after noticing that it only happens while it’s raining (in-game, I mean; not an electrical issue on my end), I’m convinced that it’s actually the normal raindrop sound, but magnified as if some of the raindrops were landing directly in my ears. I assume the sound is produced by those raindrops that land approximately where my camera is positioned.

I wanted to make the team aware of this issue, but I’m also curious to hear whether others are having this issue or not. I tried disabling my “Creative ALchemy 3D Audio” whatever, but that didn’t help. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

No karma for helping with personal story?

Never mind… I just helped her level-71 elementalist with two installments of her personal story, but my level-80 guardian received nothing at all for it.

Maybe it has something to do with relative levels?

Last night, my wife helped me with “A Pup’s Illness,” and she said she received something like 60 karma at the end. I guess it was fixed in the recent “maintenance” update? I can’t be certain since there were no update notes, but whatever changed, it’s now possible to receive karma for helping someone with a personal story. Excellent! I hope it’s consistent.

I did (8428-6089)/6089=0.38413… = 38%.

I guess maybe you did (8428-6089)/8028=0.2775?

Either way, it’s a bit excessive in my opinion.

Yeah I did it the second way… it’s a 28% loss on your original funds, not a 38% loss on your remaining funds.

I think it’s a problem if you buy gems with gold and immediately regret it and wish to get your gold back, but it also means that gems don’t get targeted for speculation like other commodities.

Okay, that makes sense. I guess something would be necessary to stop speculation, but it makes me think both “Wow, it would cost $10 to buy enough gold for a guild backpack,” and “Wow, it takes so much gold to buy Black Lion keys.” I suppose it probably feels more excessive than it is, and I’m far, far behind the curve when it comes to accumulating in-game wealth.

So, what about the difference in the ratios for the two directions?

For example, if I had 84 silver, 28 copper and decided to convert those to gems, I could get 100 gems. However, if I then changed my mind and exchanged those 100 gems for gold, I would only get 60 silver, 89 copper. That’s a 38% loss. Where does that money go?

More specifically, why such a high loss, and who decides the relationship between the two rates that results in the loss?

38% seemed a bit high, so I just double checked the math, and it’s actually closer to 28%… which is consistent with a roughly 30% difference between the two rates.

Why is there such a big difference? My personal theory is that the 30% margin is there to make it harder to speculate in gems for short term profit, especially if someone was trying to use a large amount of gems/gold to “push” the rate in a desired direction with a single transaction.

I did (8428-6089)/6089=0.38413… = 38%.

I guess maybe you did (8428-6089)/8028=0.2775?

Either way, it’s a bit excessive in my opinion.

Ascalonian Catacombs gets bored, kicks our party.

Thanks, everyone, for your constructive input.

It was obviously my fault, as common sense would tell me that anyone else in the party can do whatever they like (switch characters, leave the party, whatever) but I can’t. This well-publicized, definitely-advertised-in-game feature is obviously the way things should be, and I must have been a moron for thinking anything else.

WAIT 2.5 hours in AC path 3? that should take 30 min max o.o even with killing everything 45 tops there are other things happening in that run other than it not letting u back in

Yes, 2.5 hours for Ascalonian Catacombs Path 3 really is too much. We all agree with that. We had two necromancers, two guardians, and a ranger who switched to elementalist, so we did the best we could with what we had; please don’t mistake this for a “please tell me what we did wrong” thread. We just couldn’t get it to work. Obviously, we should have been a more experienced party. That’s the best solution, isn’t it? Just be better.

I’m sorry for the sarcasm, but really, how should we have known about this? My party was relatively new to dungeons (only one of us had done this path before), and we had no idea this would happen. It really shouldn’t, in my opinion, and this seems like kind of a high-priority bug.

If you start the instance you can not change characters. It’s as simple as that.

This means, do not swap characters to get something from their inventory, to not swap characters to get the 60 tokens a second time, do not swap characters to get the completion experience or karma on a levelling alt. If you start the instance, you stay.

Just wanted to quote for the emphasis. What is worse than wasting your own time is wasting the time of 4 more others.

It wasn’t a random pick-up group, it was a guild thing, and three of us were on Mumble the whole time. I wasn’t intentionally trying to ruin everyone’s night, and in fact, I feel pretty bad that it was my actions that caused this. I don’t feel a sense of satisfaction from anything that took place; only frustration and a twinge of guilt from the party kick. It was a horrible ordeal that made nobody happy.

I don’t know how to get the word out to potential party leaders, but this was not a fun lesson to learn by experience. Until the bug is fixed, I think it would probably be a good idea to have a sticky thread advising party leaders not to switch characters while the dungeon is active.

So, after about 2.5 hours of explorable path #3, I switched characters to get some power-boosting consumables. But, wait! The whole party just got kicked out of the dungeon, and we can’t get back in. Yes, I was the leader, but judging by a post by Robert Hrouda, this shouldn’t have happened. The instance should stay open for several minutes, even with nobody in it. I had this happen to my party just after launch, but I thought it would have been fixed by now. Is this being addressed? I have no words to express the frustration felt by my entire party, and I don’t know that I could try Path 3 again without knowing that this bug was fixed. And the bug that prevented half our team from hitting the graveling mounds. That didn’t help us, either.

As far as I can tell, the dungeon got bored. After two and a half hours of toying with us and smashing us repeatedly, the Catacombs no longer found us entertaining, and so it discarded us. We must have offended it by defeating Kholer…

Anyway, I wanted to bring this bug to the attention of the developers in case they hadn’t noticed it. The “Bugs” forum might be more appropriate, and if so, I encourage the moderator to move this topic to that forum.

Not that I disagree with any suggestions here, but sometimes you just have to appreciate cheesy/badly acted dialogue for what it is. The most memorable VO from GW1 for me is in the Prophecies mission after you save the Chosen from the spiders. You get this really corny dialog like:

PC: “We have you surrounded. You have FIVE seconds to explain yourself.”
party gets surrounded by enemies
Evennia: “It looks like YOU’RE the one who’s surrounded.”
PC: “What are you going to do us?!”

And that last line in the female VO is just… classic. The way she is instantly cowed by the tables being turned just after she finished lording her victory over Evennia. I try to imitate her IRL whenever the opportunity arises. I would not change that VO for anything.

I know exactly what you mean! I remember that one well.

a Worry of mine...

I’m a little anxious about this development.

I hope the composer of future GW2 music, whoever it is, keeps the classic Guild Wars motifs… Specifically, that Prophecies opening theme. I heard it on the bells in Lion’s Arch during Halloween, and it made me very happy. I hear it sprinkled throughout the game, in fact, and I like it that way. I’ve played pretty steadily since September ’05, and every time I hear that phrase, it takes me back to those days of exploration in Ascalon, back when I was still new enough to the game to feel lost in the world.

I’ll be interested in hearing how this turns out (no pun intended).

No karma for helping with personal story?

in Personal Story

RoyHarmon.5398

For a long time now, I’ve gotten no karma from helping my wife with her personal story instances. Likewise, she confirms that she receives no reward for helping me. Is this a bug or one of those unannounced-but-intentional changes?

If it’s a bug, I’m surprised it hasn’t already been addressed. It was working fine at launch, but in one of the early patches, all karma rewards for helping with others’ personal stories were apparently removed. I’ve heard very little discussion about it, despite the apparent demand for karma (necessitating the introduction of jugs of it, I mean).

If it’s intentional, I can’t fathom why that would be considered a positive change. In theory, the game is designed to encourage teamwork and cooperation, yes? As it stands, there seems to be absolutely no incentive to help anyone with personal stories aside from a genuine desire to assist them. There is no loot to speak of, averaging less than a typical walkabout in a lower-level area. In many cases, both of us could slaughter dozens of undead and receive no drops whatsoever, which brought the loot average down even more. The drop rate (even for junk items) was so low, we’ve come to believe that the lack of loot in these stages was somehow by design. Is the lack of karma similarly by design?

I’m just confused, I suppose, because I expect “karma” to be something gained by helping others. I could be wrong about this part, but I thought we originally received karma upon completing Tasks (formerly Renown Hearts), in addition to helping with personal stories. Now, we receive karma by completing daily/monthly achievements, or to a lesser degree, by completing dynamic events. It almost seems to me like it should be called “reputation,” not “karma,” because it’s more about our characters’ PR than about helping people.

I know there’s a lot of discussion potential here, but I really just want to know what’s going on with the karma gain from personal story assistance. I don’t really need it now that I get ten times the karma from killing lots of different things, harvesting resources, and completing a handful of dynamic events, but it’s the principle of the thing. “Karma” should be gained by helping others, and as far as I can tell, it should be the perfect reward for helping someone with a personal story. So, why was it removed? And is it coming back? An official statement (either original or quoted) would be very helpful.

I’m going to keep mine, I think, out of unrealistic optimism. There are actually quite a few players who, for whatever reason, were unable to turn in the pages to Magister Tassi. I had just acquired the last page of the second book when the new build countdown started, and when I tried to map back to Lion’s Arch to turn them in, the game client restarted and downloaded the patch.

I kept hoping one of the developers would reply to the thread in the Halloween Event forum, but then it was archived…
