What is the point in making them stronger and more annoying?
You say FE doesn’t have enough health but you don’t say that Golem has too much health.

For most of people the world bosses are something relaxing to be killed quickly to get the chest. When you do something every day you don’t want it to be challenging and frustrating, you want it to be relaxing.

Teams lose so many matches by giving the other team free neut or full cap on home point. You always have to defend your home point (except sometimes when they zerg it).
However, that doesn’t necessarily mean sitting on it. But you still have to keep an eye on it and defend it in time.

The weaker build it is, the harder it is to play, it’s that simple.

Also, number of buttons that have to be mashed on the keyboard has nothing to do with the difficulty. Proof for that are ezpz to play cele eles and engis.

They are not OP at all. They are just strong at 1v1 holding the point. d/d ele or cele rifle ele can do the same job and a lot more. Just send one zerker class + 1 whatever and turret engi will die in literally few seconds, assuming you won’t suck and let him use the heal, but even then it will just take few more seconds.

Except a d/d ele or cele engi would get destroyed by a turret engi 1v1 on holding a point. Just about every competitive player that’s commented on turret engis has said they’re overpowered and need a nerf.

Turret engis require a disproportionate amount of coordination from a team in comparison with literally any other spec or class to deal with them which is what makes them overpowered and a tremendous pain to deal with in general pub games.

Saying “just send more than 1 person to deal with the turret engi” is a red flag.
Turret engi being banned in 2v2 tournaments is a red flag.
The correct play 9 times out of 10 against a turret engi is to just ignore them and go for the other points is a red flag.

Just because turret engis don’t guarantee wins every single match doesn’t make them NOT overpowered.

So what? Thief would get destroyed by almost anything 1v1. Ranger would get destroyed by ele/engi 1v1 in matter of seconds. It’s a 5v5 game, not 1v1.

How come gw2 is not popular in esports?

It’s not esports because so very few people play it (PvP). Also, not many people outside of GW2 even know GW2 exist, it’s not a very known game.

Also, if there were more people and more teams playing it would be to boring for esports, everyone would play pretty much the same team build, everyone would be Abjured and matches would be so incredibly boring to watch.

Builds and skills are extremely trivial in this game, I trust pretty much anyone to do their job mechanically on any class.

Rotations however are a different story. When playing with a team there are very few players I trust to rotate perfectly. When soloing, I usually look if they have a Legendary Champion title, if not then I check their armor and weapons if they look like they are there first time or not. If they look completely new then it’s probably an alt account of some decent player, if they look like experienced player, then that’s what they are, experienced players, but if they look like something in between I always expect the worst.

Exactly. Celestial rifle is way stronger than turret. If it was the other way around than all the “top” teams would be running turrets instead. They are already running super cheesy builds, I’m sure they would run turrets too if they were strong enough.

If you remove cele you pretty much kill ele and hurt warrior a lot. Engi is fine because condi is strong and has much more dps than cele.
The amulet is broken but it’s the only way ele is viable.

Not really. Only d/d ele would be nerfed. You can still play staff ele (both support and dps), and d/d ele with valkyre amulet. Difference is that then it would actually be balanced instead of being insanely OP burster+tank+support+roamer+duelist like it is now.

I thought about this for a long time and came up with one very reasonable explanation.

You see, if they did that then it would mean those sharks would freeze to death. That’s why they could be sued for animal cruelty and I’m sure their management doesn’t want that so they made a decision to simply forget about this map forever.

Still sounds like a bunch of whiners who can’t hack it. So they say the game doesn’t take that much skill even though they can’t break into the top echelon of pvp…. but of course if you “felt” like it you could right…..

i speak as a decent pvp player, go and fight a top player. i fought caed with a pal and it completely changed my perspective on tournaments. those 1v1s were like going back to being a noob again. caed is a beast, and the fact that all of the players are at a similar level, in that they can beat and survive caed.

most people come to these forums and call builds faceroll, cele engi and ele especially. sure, they are faceroll if you are facing scrubs- but not if you are facing good players (nothing, apart from maybe phantasam mesmer is faceroll vs good players). all the qq about passive mechanics and blaming of game systems hardly make any of you look good at all. y’all are probably those scrub thieves i squash on a daily basis.

In spvp, killing is an optional objective. While the primary objective is circle control.

But in the end conquest will always be a dumbed down version of alliance battles from guild wars 1.

It’s actually more like a dumbed down version of hero battles from gw1, just with players instead of heroes.
It still requires more strategy than alliance battles, but less than hero battles.

Downed state is the most fun thing about GW2. Also, you can really play anything in the dungeons, it doesn’t have to be a zerker, but you should still provide decent amount of damage.

Of course zerkers are most effective, something always has to be. It’s much better that they make us bring full dps build instead of having to play frustrating tank builds-

Start by using an actual working build. You might need to try few different ones to see what you are most comfortable with. Once you do that, as you play more games you will get better and you will “get pwnt in 5v5” less and less.

why? To allow casual and new players be farmed for points by experienced players?

That’s why the matchmaking exists. It should give them opponents with similar skill level.

If you are offended by that then the Internet is not the place for you. That’s like me saying I’m offended by people discussing about Harry Potter books, because I’m not a Harry Potter book reader, it makes no sense at all.

And for example: if you are in a restaurant, and people sitting on the table near you are discussing those same things, would you go and talk to the restaurant manager and tell them it’s not ok what they are doing and they should be kicked out? Or would you just leave right away?

Even if it is less than 1% player base affected, it’s still unnecessary. Sure it would prevent few people from selling/buying gold, but it has nothing to do with the account security. It will just be a minor annoyance, while those who send 500+ gold for legit purposes will be harmed.

Even if only affects 1 players in the game, it’s still not ok to do it. They are players not numbers.

I played GW1 PvP quite successfull(~5x silvercape + many more pooptrims, r11 HA, r9 gladiator), so i think im able to give an founded opinion on this(not for the flexing guys, so dont blame me nerd xD).

That is not very successful. R11 HA was subpar, and silvercapes (top 16 in monthly tourneys) wasn’t too hard to achieve. 5 wins – 2 losses would guarantee it.

Anyway, “cheese” builds in GW1 were hated and players who played them would get trashtalked constantly, while in GW2 Abjured and others with celestial cheese builds get praised so much like they are the best. It is very different mentality, and most top GW1 players always refused to play cheese builds.

Even very high skilled players can have a W/L ratio around 50%. It doesn’t necessarily show anything. They might do a lot of solo queue and they are much better at working as a team with organised people rather than solo queue people and that would make their W/L ratio lower.

On the other hand, there are few players who get mega carried in good teams.

I queue all the time with groups of 2, 3, and 4. I play with my guild but we rarely have 5 people who want to play PvP at the same time. (Small guild, more PvE focused.) Usually I’m playing as a 2- or 3-man group.

If my only choice was solo or full-team, I’d play considerably less. I don’t have nearly as much fun playing solo and I don’t feel like taking the time to put together a full-team.

But if only 5-man and solo queues existed, it would take extremely short time to pick up your last couple players from lfg system that everyone would use. It worked perfectly in GW1, and I’m sure it would work even better too.

I’ll have to warn you about Locus post. Macro’ing even for the music can get you ban.

I do agree with being able to play MIDI Files, custom made or downloaded.
I mean you can put your own music library into the gw2 music folder.

I’ll keep an eye on this one.

Personally I don’t mind whether the leaderboard is MMR or point based. However, problem with this system is that it’s simply… unfair. Now you are actually punished for being a “good” player. When your MMR is high you will pretty much get only 1 point per win no matter what, while lower MMR players (who are actually way higher on the leaderboard!!!) will often get more points per win. That is just ridiculous.

Point based leaderboard should be same for everyone.
MMR based leaderboard is straight forward, like it was before.

Problem is that they are trying to combine both. It just doesn’t work. I think players should always be matched against each other based on the leaderboard position. That position is supposed to show good the players are, so then they could fight against players who have similar skill level. Using MMR for matchmaking only and not for leaderboard position makes no sense at all.

That doesn’t matter. If you’re wining 59% of your matches you are bound to raise your MMR.

Um actually, that is not always true. Top 100 people in previous ladder would actually lower their MMR if they only had 59% wins. So if they kept MMR exactly the same (which they most likely did) then 59% wins would make you stuck in average MMR

Why not simply give +5 points for each win, -3 points for each loss, and -10 points for a disconnect. That makes both grinders and tryhards happy.

There is no need for a “chance of winning” thing. They just have to make matchmaking good, which it mostly is, but it requires more active players.

Or they could just use the same system that every other competitive game in the world uses.

They don’t want to “ruin” their win percentage so they don’t play ranked if they don’t have a team that’s good enough.

Has nothing to do with queue time or fun builds or whatever else they say.
