I would try early morning, like 4 A.M., Christmas Day, New Years or after the Winter’s Day event.
I switched to TC just before the holiday event, I love this server, there are people everywhere all the time and it’s fun.
Blasphemy, I don’t think you know what this word means.
As stated, it’s a sale, things go on sale, it happens.
Human Necro because he fits the type of character I wanted, pale, frail and downright wicked. Except Necros aren’t frail, they are awesome.
Human Thief because I liked the background story.
Norn Warrior because big (huge), likes to drink and fight, everything I envisioned a warrior to be.
Norn Ranger because female Norn are sexy and the whole Bear, Raven, Snow Leopard and Wolf deity thing kinda scream Ranger.
I want an Asura for nothing more than /dance
There is a sticky with tons of charr necro pics, should probably check it out.
The search function.
If you go minion necro be warned, the pet AI can be frustrating until they fix it.
Regardless of that, its my favorite profession and my highest level. I am simply a force to recon with while leveling and can survive almost every situation given. I can take on the biggest and baddest mobs including some group event bosses solo. I love it.
Go to the Thief forum and start reading. That’s the best advice I can muster because there is nothing I can type here that isn’t discussed in much more detail over there.
Good luck!
I see way more guardians in wvw than warriors. Here lately, I’ve seen way more guardians everywhere I go (leveling 5 characters between 35-75 currently, none of them a guardian, lowest level a warrior)
Play on 600×800 resolution. Enjoy.
lol
Is this even an option for anything released in the last 10 years?
Class Name: Dark Knight
Class Armor: Heavy
Weapon Type: Fists, Boomerangs, Gadgets.
This class can only use the color black for it’s armor, always wears a mask and uses gadgets and it’s trusty boomerang to turn the tides in battle.
Gains bonuses when fighting Jokers, Penguins and Two Faced mobs
I can’t post anything below vendor price, they button is greyed out and there is red text informing me that the item must be above the vendor price.
Wouldn’t the vendor equivalent items help more than it hurt? I always just assumed the only people who bought these items were going to salvage them into crafting mats.
The biggest issue I see for this type of server would be PVE AoE, you would technically be killing those who are helping you in group events.
I think the idea is a reasonable one for people who would like that sort of thing, but would that number be large enough to warrant a dedicated server for it?
Mesmer. You’re always rolling with your gang of yourselves.
This made me chuckle.
My highest level character is a Necro (75) I am built for Minions and I am a force to recon with in PVE. Sometimes I think to myself how unfair it is that I can pretty easily rampage through hoards of mobs when my poor Ranger (52) spends most of the time running in a circle and using my heal on cool down.
I guess if you are built for AoE like mentioned above you can deal with hoards better but my Ranger is a ranger, not a pet using warrior/thief hybrid. I want to use ranged weapons and think the class should excel in doing so in any given situation. Just my opinion.
To the OP, I love my Necro, I find it the most rewarding for solo pve play.
Yeah we’re gonna need a bit more info on what profession you are playing.
Make sure to read some guides on whatever prof you are, specifically ones that discuss pve and leveling builds.
Also, try getting with a group of people who are also leveling in the zone or ask a guild mate or two to give you a hand.
Also, don’t forget to deposit any money in your bank too.
Go to a different race’s starting area.
I took my level 16 Sylvari Ele over to Queensdale, did the full map completion and was level 19 (was almost 17 when I started). Then went to the Norn 1-15 area (name escapes me right now, it’s late) and left there level 21.
So 2 levels for full map completion including events per area and I wreck faces in them (mostly).
The best part, on my sever (Tarnished Coast) there were tons of players in these lowbie areas, some were actually people leveling and some where higher level doing completions and they all loved to help if you ask for it.
I enjoyed it so much I ran my level 45 Ranger through Queensdale too for the completion.
Some of the voice acting is so bad it’s just down right annoying. For example Deputy Mira in the Claw Island personal story, who also does a lot of voices through out the game (Shiverpeaks griffon egg collecting quest is probably the worst) is just atrocious.
Since I brought up Claw Island, Trehearne…I know it’s the accent but after 3 characters of listening to his dialog and saying “Clar Island” I want to punch him in his barky face.
stowing pets and gaining from it…now that opens up a whole can of new ideas and i wish it had been thought of earlier.
you stow a pet and your skills are altered based on the type of pet you stowed, kinda like you become infused with the pet’s spirit. stowing a bear buffs up your melee abilities, gives you some defense as well. stowing a jaguar gives you more hit-and-run type abilities. stuff like that.
Make this a thing. Love this idea.
I love the male Norn for Warrior, it just fits.
Proof of evolution.
My god that would suck IRL.
How about get rid of the bugs from the existing classes? That’s what I would do before introducing new classes.
This is not an official thread on anything being released, just player ideas on what they would like to see.
I do not understand why people feel the need to crap on every thread that isn’t whining about something.
I think you should record it and send it (or a youtube link to it) to Anet. Make sure it’s good quality so they can see the name. Along with the link give a detailed description of what they are doing and where.
It’s up to the players to get as much info into Anet’s hands as possible to wrangle in these bots.
I think they should take the WoW approach and make some items (exotics +) BoE and some BoA (this is bound on acquire for the WoW folks).
The ability to move your skills or not move your skills have nothing at all do to with the current year.
It was a design choice, one that works well with the game.
If you do not wish to reassign your key binds and would rather get a refund, you will have to put forth the effort to figure out how.
Good luck and Merry Christmas.
If the economy was destroyed because of the botting, would you still feel the same?
I agree the players who are legitimately trying to make themselves better by farming for materials to do so are taking the brunt of this choice by the devs. But, to sit and claim that they added DR specifically to force players to spend money is absurd, very narrow minded and dare I say ignorant approach to the problem of botting.
Bots can kill a game’s economy and when you have the potential to exploit real money is can devastate the game completely.
The best course of action as a player is to report the bots as you witness them and perhaps give some valid ideas on how to combat them. Think of it as crime in your neighborhood, report it, help the police take care of the problem.
The worst thing you can do is give up. If you enjoy the game, help make it better, don’t quit on it.
What we have is a misconception of what defines the word grind in a video game.
Grind is repeating something to gain levels of advancement.
Farming is repeating something to acquire gear.
There is a difference.
A better question is why are there so many request to buy items for 1c when the TP will not allow you to post it for less than it can be vendor’d for.
http://flufffactor.wordpress.com/gw2-dye-list/
Knock yourself out.
Anything else Anet should change based on your personal opinion?
think you’ve just missed another post of mine in another thread.
EDIT: also please stop nagging me, write about the thread argument, and not about your suppositions upon my own opinions or habits, because you are derailing the thread badly, thx
The tread title and discussion is holidays in game.
My replies are discussing holidays in game.
How is this derailing?
I’m done, I can’t have a discussion with someone who just wants to argue.
It’ll be okay.
Your thread title is a little misleading.
It says you want to discuss first person camera but the bulk of you post is the combat system.
yes please!
gw lore into gw2 is such a small part of the whole that i wonder why the only new content we’ve seen is related to RL commercial holydays lore…
I’ll try my best to explain it to you so you can comprehend it without being offended.
People enjoy in game holiday events, it’s true with almost every game and even though you may not enjoy it or participate, doesn’t mean it should be scrapped or not implemented for the enjoyment of others.
The end of the calendar year has 3 major holidays (including Halloween here) crammed very close together and then of course New Years. It’s a busy time of year in real life and the life of a person who plays MMOs.
I understand that some people feel that everything in the world should be catered to their personal enjoyment but it’s just not going to happen because despite what you may think, opinions different from your own are not wrong, they’re just different.
Also, there has been new non holiday “lore” related content added, but I understand it’s easier to ignore facts in an attempt to justify your personal complaint.
please Sir, i do trust in my own mind enough and i can tell you that in any game, and not only in this one, i couldn’t care less of a real world holiday being pulled in into my fantasy world i’m escaping, an not any of the words of yours in any quantity might convince me of the opposite, and thus to praise and thanks the developers for something i do not want. Nor i’d ever try to do the same to you or anyone else.
So keep your own ideas, and i’ll keep mine.On top of that i despise the fact that all these content is related to holidays which are commercial holidays, that means that are promptly used at the right time as an incentive to spend some more in gems as you would spend in petty presents in real.
Next i expect Saint Valentine Day, then Easter. I’d play Sims if i wanted those.
But yet you still are playing, knowing that they are most likely going to come?
I’m not trying to force anything on you, they are not my “ideas”, I am just pointing out facts that most MMOs do have their own version of holiday themed content, and if you do not enjoy it your options are pretty clear cut.
Not being forced to grind isn’t the same as “we don’t make grindy games”. Sure the grinds are entirely optional, but if my goal is to get 100 lodestones…. that takes a long time regardless of playing “the way Anet wants me to” or not; getting to that goal over a long duration vs. a faster duller method doesn’t change the fact that it’s a grindy requirement.
If a drop rate for said lodestone is say 1% and there was no DR, it would take nearly 10,000 kills to get that. Even if I spread that out over time, what the kitten kind of endgame pursuit demands this many kills for one of several components other than a grindy game? Oh just use the TP?… So basically I’m “buying” my way out of grinding? Which means that there is, in fact, grinding?… but this game isn’t grindy? Oh this grind isn’t as bad as other games? Ok, so we’re acknowledging that this game does, in fact, have a grind? Which, again… “we dont’ make grindy games”?
A non-grindy game has goals like to get item X requires me to beat encounters A, B, and C…. it may take time to learn and execute, but at least it’s an effort devoted to mastering content rather than an effort devoted into simply spending an exorbitant amount of time (whether that time goes towards directly getting that goal or indirectly getting it). Not saying non-grindy games don’t have some repeat, but there’s a difference between having to do something a dozen times and having to do something a hundred+ times.
I think you are confusing grinding and farming. When you are killing things for drops, that’s farming, when you are killing things to level, that’s grinding.
So, with that tid bit of knowledge dropped in your mind, GW2 is not, for the most part, a grindy game.
I know an in game LFG feature is most likely in the works but please add a feature for sorting out player skill, I say skill for a lack of a better word at the moment.
A simple selection of choices such as:
- New
- Casual
- Experienced
- Veteran
- Hard Core
Maybe even a Role Play option for people who enjoy that sort of thing, a story mode option for people who want to watch the cut scenes or a speed run option for people just wanting to get through as quick as possible.
Something along those lines, so the LFG system can assign like minded players as best it can.
I do not know if it’s possible to be worked into the game, just some random idea popped into my head reading some of the complaints around the forum.
Of course, if there is no LFG feature being worked on, then may I suggest that as well.
I’m going to have to disagree that MF is not fun, I find it very fun to get more/better items than not.
But let me elaborate a bit, I am a reasonably considerate person, I would not personally join a group to do a dungeon with a full set of MF gear on but in the same regard I would not drop a person from the group for their gear choice unless they are just not contributing to the run at all.
The same can be said for any character who spends a majority of the boss fight dead because they stacked all offense and no defense. Magic Find or not, they are hindering the progression.
This is also true of anyone who does not effectively avoid taking damage, I do not care what gear you have, if you cannot avoid the (mostly) blatantly obvious spike damage coming your way, you are not helping.
Lastly, if you want optimal dungeon runs, find a group because if the years of playing other MMOs has taught me anything, it’s that when you pug a dungeon (or raid), expect there to be completely clueless people who will join your group, even with the plethora of information literally at your fingertips.
yes please!

I think you should post a formal request in the suggestion forum. I would like to see quivers and weapons have the option to be dyed.
I believe what you are looking for can be found here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds
I have 6 characters that I play at random depending on my mood and sometimes I can get a bunch of dyes in a single play session and sometimes I get very few. It’s completely random.
The game is four months old.
Four.
Haven’t had any issues with it myself.
I was kinda worried about it at first but MS seems to have done a much better job with Windows 8 than previous version upgrades (looking at you Vista)
If I’m having fun, I win.
Yeah pretty much this.
I’ve been winning for a few weeks now and I haven’t even scratched the surface.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hero_
It says therein:
Lifetime Survivor
Only mostly unkillable.
200,000 Exp without Death +5 Arenanet points
500,000 Exp without Death +5 Arenanet points
I don’t think the crafting skills give different xp, just pick two and go.
Also I think cooking is the easiest, and maybe jewel crafting?
Thank you Jeff, taking time to respond and check these spawn timers on the eve of the end of the world. :P
3rd party addons are not supported.
I also do not think there is a “dps meter” built anywhere into the game, if that is what you are looking for.
As Oglaf stated, using the guild banner to boost Karma is great. I simply ask nicley in LA if someone can drop the banner and usually I get several willing people happy to drop one.
I believe you hold down alt key and drag the stack then select the number you want separated.
I go out of my way to rez players and NPCs but a lot of the time in battle, it’s not good to rez them because rezzing actually spikes your aggro on monsters so they will aim for you instead of the downed guy.
I did not know this but i guess it makes sense from an AI point of view.
