Necros are not fine, people should stop saying that.

They are only fine if you spec a certain way, which I don’t want to play.

I want my Minion Master to be viable for more things than Orr farming.

I want my pets to have a higher IQ than a rock, just rework pets complete kitten

I want my staff skills to have the ability to be triggered by a world dragon, since they are a pretty big chunk of my DPS and condition removal/transfer.

Necros are far from fine.

If there was no money, then a different item would replace it as currency for trading.

Then we would have a post asking to remove that item.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

I do not see where this is a problem unless you are trying to tackle the hardest dungeons, and if you are trying to tackle the hardest dungeons, you would do yourself a huge favor by getting a premade group for the task rather than complain about a pug not gearing the way that you feel is best for the team.

Seriously, unless you are talking about dungeons with a high degree of difficulty, all this whining is pointless.

Help and solve the problem are two different things.

Yes, reporting bots help but it does not solve the problem.

I don’t know their process for bot reporting but I have reported my fair share and seen some of them apparently banned and some of them not.

Bots are going to be in the game, nothing can be done about it. If they take a measure to stop one, another will arise. I’ve seen it for many years in many different games.

So keep reporting and hoping they will at least keep the game from being over run by them.

To be honest, I find the “almost” nude to be favorable. It leaves the imagination open to it’s own vices.

There is nothing at all wrong with nudity, but in a video game whose demographic falls into the early teen years it’s best left out to avoid parental outrage, since nudity is considered 18+ for everything else in media.

I agree about the vitriol on the forums but comparing how long it took WoW to add certain features is not really fair. It’s 2013 now, those features have been used and widely accepted for quite some time and how Anet failed to even add a dungeon finder tool in the game is baffling.

I believe they said they are adding new maps.

I would search for it and link it but I am just as lazy as you are.

As long as they are fixing things and not ignoring them for content, then I will be happy.

I have barely scratched the surface of this game and I enjoy it quite a bit so I imagine I will stick around for a while.

The beauty of the game is you can take a break and play other games and come back to it later and see if it’s indeed better than it was before or more in line with what you had hoped it would be. No monthly gives you lots of flexibility with your play time.

For me, it’s like playing a slot machine except every pull is a win. It may not be a big win but you get at least a couple of silvers worth of items from each dragon with the chance to hit rare items worth double digit silvers (some cases a gold or more depending) and of course the jackpots (exotics etc) which I have yet to win.

These fights, albeit they are pretty straight forward and can be laggy (CoJ seems to be the worst for me) they are fun and most of my social time in the game comes from talking with people waiting for the spawn or after one has died. Not to mention the spawn animations are the coolest things I have seen in the game yet, especially Tequatl and the Shatterer, they just kitten rock!

So, those are my reasons. It’s enjoyable and that’s why I play the game. I hope they add more.

Well first let me clarify one thing, he is not the “Fire Marshal” that would be someone who is in charge of investigating fires for fire departments. He is the Marshal of the Pact, a duty bestowed upon him by you, the player (not by choice but that’s the way the story plays out in the script). This is also why he calls upon you for advice, because he feels out of place and unworthy of the responsibility bestowed upon him. If you would have payed any attention to the story instead of pressing “skip to end” you would know this. You would also know what a first born is in the same manor.

He is a necromancer, and as a player who has played a necro through Orr, I can see how he managed to scout the area by himself while studying the risen and finding their weaknesses. Necros are awesome and all should bow to their greatness, or something.

As for the voice acting, I agree, terrible just like a majority of the voices in the game, but it’s a video game not a major motion picture so emphasis on acting is not that important. With that in mind, no need to go hiring new voice actors for a video game, it is what it is.

Aside from population of players in the zones, Orr is fine like it is in my opinion (note the opinion part).

I leveled 3 characters through the Orr content Thief, Necro and Ranger and although it was challenging at times it was never impossible and events rack off constantly. It was a pain to see some events and wp just being completely ignored but that is due to the lack of participants or they were buggy and not the events themselves being too difficult.

There is a much easier alternative, Frostsound Gorge, but it lacks the events and karma vendors and once you complete the zone, there’s not much left except Claw of Jormag every 3-4 hours.

The game is in dire need of spontaneous DEs that trigger in different random areas with good rewards that will drive players to want to go do them and call their friends out to help.

I enjoyed Orr for a while and I agree it does need some tweaking with the risk vs rewards and fixing some of the DEs but it’s not near as bad as some make it out to be.

I said this in another thread and I will say it here; there are a ton of things to do in this game, whether or not you chose to do them is completely on you. It’s not lacking for things to do, it’s lacking in thing you want to do.

The game is not custom made for every special snowflake and will not have everything your heart desires to keep you entertained till you discover life outside the game.

Many people are enjoying it just fine, many aren’t, welcome to how the world works.

As for the “leveling alts is just doing the same content”, that a ludicrous statement and probably doesn’t even deserve my feedback but I’m going to give it anyway. Every race has different starting areas, different leveling areas and different personal story (to a point). So, please try to come up with a better reason not to level an alt besides “it’s the same content”.

I set mine for more subtle changes, to make the colors pop a little more and sharpen the image and of course add the SMAA.

I feel that the gem store options are far from where they want them to be at this point. I fully expect for there to be a wide range of armor skins, town clothing options and other cosmetic perks in the months to come as well as some adjustments on the pricing.

Best bet is to wait it out and see where they go with it, because I honestly think it’s far from where it could be.

Skittsburgh is pretty Skritty. It’s the Skittiest place in all the game by far. There’s Skritt strewn all over and it smells like Skritt.

There are a ton of things to do, whether or not you chose to do them is completely up to you.

On mounts: The game doesn’t need mounts at all. The zones (or areas if you prefer) are far too small, there are way points everywhere and there are too many load screens. Also the culling like mentioned before.

For this month, I really hope they are optimizing the game to perform better for large scale battles (dragons & wvwvw for example) and areas that have a dense player base (LA) and fixing some of the glaring bugs.

I feel your pain but I do have to say that luck is a kitten that has no mercy.

Yesterday I did 4 dragon kills and got about 8 yellows (and other random trash), today I killed 5 and got 1.

It’s the nature of the beast and it does suck when it’s not in your favor.

Nice review and video. I enjoy watching your vids because you try to emphasize the basic premise of the game is to enjoy yourself and not succumb to the “play this way or your wrong” way of thinking.

Honestly, I do not see the point of adding lore to an item that more than 1 person can have.

For example, let say you have a GS with flavor text that says “Wielded by the greatest Charr warrior to ever grace the field of battle.” and 3000 people have it.

So the greatest Charr warrior had 3000 weapons? I guess that would make him pretty great, but it would not make the weapon any more special.

That set is medium pvp armor which cannot be worn by Mesmers because they wear light armor.

3 level 80s and still loving it. Working on my 4th slowly but surely while trying to maintain a profitable farming routine, discovering new areas, conquering jumping puzzles, timing it all around dragon spawns.

I haven’t even invested any time in a dungeon yet, but there will be plenty of time for that later, still enjoying the outside world completely.

Although it’s not a Steam sale discount, 25% is quite a bit for a company who, as claimed by many, just after more money.

I like it. I can finally get my last character slot now for much less than I had wanted to pay.

You don’t have to give them any more money. They aren’t asking you for more money, they are offering services that have the option to obtain by using real money, but by no means is that the only way to obtain said service.

So, don’t use real money if you don’t want to because they are certainly not forcing you to.

Honestly, I love the idea. As a bonus they could have “zone of the day” that would reward double rewards or even a gem store gem for every heart completed and try to push players into the areas that have very little player activity. (Excluding level 75+ areas)

TLDR: I bought the game, picked the easiest class to play, b-lined it to 80 , dont like pvp, dont like dungeons, dont like pve, dont like exploring, dont like upgrading my gear, dont like putting forth effort to find out about dragon spawns so why am I not happy?

Is that a fair summary?

I played all the way to 80 using the condition D/D build and enjoyed every minute of it.

I’m still using it for farming crafting mats, exploration and such.

I only do it on my ranger like mentioned above.

I started really playing 11/29.

On my Thief 107 hours over the last 35 days.

497 Hours across all characters.

14 hours a day.

No shame.

All of this was not happening last week, it started a few days ago and I cannot figure out why.

Did you look in your additional stash part of your bank?

There is a seperate part of the bank that holds crafting mats and such and at the bottom are the mini pets.

I love these amateur “graphics mods” these days.
They increase constrast to hilariously exaggerated levels, to the point the game looks like a cartoon, and call it “The Ultimate Super Mega P00nzor Hax of L33tskillz Graphix skillzors!”.

I would agree if that’s all this did. It does a ton more than tweak the contrast. You can fine tune it to look however you want. It’s basically the same settings used in professional photo editing software.

Probably should trash on something you probably never tried and know absolutely nothing about.

If you are running DX9 hardware there is an option in the settings to turn on the rendering for it, otherwise it’s default to work with only DX11.

Town clothing are directly related to spending gems to obtain, whether buying gems with gold or with real money.

It’s a novelty item, and those are usually the bulk of income for games with no monthly and a cash shop.

Make sure you do not have anything running that has overlay (fraps and xfire are two of the most common ones).

I’m not rocket surgeon but it looks like a normal normal texture square.
