I’m sorry sataar but I’ve played against top teams when everyone was still in this game and you are far behind mesmers like Milty, Esplicz, Erichhimself (i think all 3 have quit though so you are better than most other mesmers but that doesn’t mean you earned the spot).

I can’t agree with sataar. This whole thread is just full of him boasting rather than trying to progress towards a resolution. I think the only piece of advice given was keep your distance from a warrior and watch the enemy mesmer’s timewarp cd and positioning. There is also no consideration for what new players experience. Top players just saying L2P to new players is like asking the game to be guillotined from the bottom up.

u must be reading the wrong thread then if thats all you got out of this its (so hard me me not to bash u write now) i will just say try reading it all again.

and i already made 2 awesome threads for ways to help new ppl. one was an advanced playlist and the other was a way to give teams more time against good teams for practice.

(xees op cant be beat build after ppl L2P it became less op) instead of being mad or getting destroyed by it i changed up into my new secret build and i beat xee 11 out of the last 12 times we fought 1v1 and the time he beat me he was smart i was fighting hman and hman told him so xee went back to my point waited for me to portal in with no CD and he beat me. so again everything is a L2P thing

so just try stuff out ppl instead of QQ ing. everyone can beat everyone if everyone plays correctly

It isn’t just as easy having one of those other back point holders. They actually get exposed to back cap risk while helping their team, unlike a mesmer who can help their team without worrying about returning to their home point until someone attacks it or their portal fades.

Also, good teams can win against lesser teams with comps that aren’t very good. That doesn’t mean that their comp is ideal or viable against opponents of equal level. As far as you not being back point mesmer, well lets say I watched the video where you guys raged at Q when you guys were asking him to be back point necro. You don’t like playing backpoint and as a team leader you dictated that it was not your role. In the drama between you and your former teammates they stated the reason you didn’t do backpoint holding was because you lost 1v1s though…..

if you ever watched oppa play he was an amazing back point . if you ever seen my old engi lew dawg play he was an amazing back point, i have many examples of every class doing it very well. 1 game even hman was back point he can get back so fast and destoy whoever went there.

all i am hearing is ppl are to lazy and dont want to L2P back point because they think they are to good for that role. im hear to tell you that anyone who thinks they are above doing what the team needs at that time is just hurting the team (you mention Q and thats a main reason were not with our old team)

during this SAtaarcoeny tells skovex im going to hit the mesmer go to there point now. SAtaarcoeny hits the mesmer 4 times makes him use distortion and a heal.

back to the super mesmer only u have. the mesmer sees his home is being capped so he portals back. now with no elite no heal no distortion a wasted utility because it was used for portal he has to try and beat a fresh face……. you tell me when he wins that fight 1v1.

again please know what you are talking about before you post silly nerf stuff cause you just look silly and it all goes back to a L2P.

i enjoy telling you guys how to play and think if we keep this post up then a lot of readers taking my train of thought and emplemiting it into there playstyle will become a lot better

This is not about making mesmers weakers in actual combat. It is about making the game better to play. If they were to change these two abilities I would actually like them to do something to help mesmers out because these two abilities are obviously a big part of the reason that teams take mesmers. Portal and Time Warp are pretty much the strongest two abilities in the game and no other class has anything that can match these two abilities making mesmers a part of nearly every competitive team.

This isn’t a cry about mesmers being too strong and blowing people up. This is about how their flawed design has made a mesmer essentially mandatory.

ok so to fix the problem they need to fix moa back. poof now every mesmer wont use timewarp. problem fixed. they already nerfed portal to 90 seconds. send someone to there back point to counter it poof problem solved.

mesmers use timewarp u say op i say bring a warrior with rez flag so if they timewarp you then you rez all teammates poof problem solved. if they timewarp you bring a necro and plauge them poof problem solved. if they bring a time warp hop in sanctuary poof problem solved. if they bring a time warp GTFO of it poff….

huh? youre assuming that people actually have a secret desire to take part in the meta. thing is kid, nobody wants to. there’s like 30 of you playing and we dont give a flying kitten >.< people dont want to get better because the state of the game sucks. which is why everyone is complaining and asking for a change of direction. GW2 pvp aint going anywhere until meta is significantly changed. custom arenas and matchmaking will bring some people back, but it wont be long until people stop playing again.

you are silly if u think engis dont have a place. and i have never once said nerf anyone. i just say fix bugs and exploits.

L2P ppl its hat easy msg me in game if you need help i help everyone. i have never done finished a hotjoin match with more then 50 points in this game because i go in there to practice 1v1 and 2v2.

if you have trouble with a class find them and ask how to beat them its easy.

it took me a long time to find out how to beat hman 1v1 but once i did i havnt had to many problems with warriors in game. (secret is stay back)

this is not a 1v1 game every class has there own role in the game. i have been building teams sence day one and the reson my teams are always top teams is because not only do i know everyones role in the team but so does the team.

i am a mesmer i directly counter the other teams mesmer i watch everything he does. i know his portal time i know his cd on time warp i know were he is at all time and when i go to a group fight i destroy the mesmer to get him out of there.

L2P isnt a mean thing to say nor is newb all it means is new ppl that need to learn how this game works. some ppl are prics on this game thats fine but then there is ppl like me that will help you.

so instead of going into a match and saying “they have a cheap backstab thief” i want you saying “ok billy your job is to keep eyes on the thief all game”

yep i played paids tonight. 100% were time warp. very predictable.

i by no means think time warp is op. its a 210 sec cool down and all a good team has to do is step out of it but i truly just want so variety.

i been whisperin ppl after each game with tips and tricks i see them lacking. plus telling ppl what they did good. and it seems to be paying off. teams have been getting better so make sure to let each of your ppl know they can talk to me.

You know the easiest way to tell the bad mesmers from the decent ones? The bads use Moa instead of Time Warp.

Moa will never win a match, but TW certainly can and has turned the tides of uncountable amounts of matches.

What exactly is wrong with people that are new to the system joining it? Point is you need to encourage people that are willing to lose to play so they can get better. Right now the better players get to play 2-3 rounds of the tournaments on average while the players that are learning are round in and out with very little to gain. The players that are already good at the game are getting better while the players that arnt are relegated to using free and stomping pug groups.

People cant L2P at a high level if doing so is costly.

The barrier to entry for the losing teams needs to be lower. 5 tickets to play one match is a very expensive proposition and a big part of the reason you don’t see a lot of people in paids.

I personally consider playing against really good opponents is a good way to learn. A tpvp queue that’s popping more often is a benefit to the top level teams as it is for your casual pvper that wants to get better at the game.

There is nothing wrong with people getting destroyed in paids.

I don’t see the logic in your train of thought, If playing longer and more overall is going to increase competition, why not ENACT THAT and allow people to play longer.

5 tickets to play for 10 min after waiting 1 hour is a lot i defiantly agree.

paying 5 tickets to play a full 40 min tournament is by no means to much because u get some back after.

reducing the cost does nothing other then let more pug potential in (we dont want that)

my suggestion makes it so more teams form plus have longer to practice against great teams.

Not reading entire thread, but I would play paids more if they refunded tickets for losing.

I don’t find it time effective to go into a paid match for the cost of 5 tickets to only likely play one round.

If I play 1 round of paids I should get 3 tickets back
2 rounds 1 ticket back
3 rounds 0 tickets back (note that winners are getting Gems and QP’s)

essentially lower the barrier of entry down to 2 tickets a try if I keep losing. If I cant keep playing when I keep losing all I’m going to do is go into free.

i dont like this this would encourage randoms to come in and get destroyed. that is what free is for. (randoms not getting destoroyed)

paids needs to be the place were ppl L2P at a high skill lvl. and if you read the replys you will see how this encourages getting better. playing longer and overal making the game a more competitive place.

when i see a backstab thief 20 feet away from me and he drops shadow refuge i get excited. i know there is about to be a great battle. i know all i have to do is hit him once and he dies or he has to hit me once and i die.

never in my mind do i look at a thief and say he is op because i look at it from both angles which the devs do also.

insta gib thief= easy to kill if they mess up (u see that there is a pro and a con so ppl use them) they can kill ppl fast but they cant stomp. seems fair to me.

moa= 180 sec cooldown, it affects 1 person, its easily avoided, ppl get to doge 2 times in it for 4 seconds invuln plus they get to speed away at a super speed that nothing can catch, so basically it does nothing except waste a cooldown.

everything needs a pro and a con otherwise something is wrong.

all u ppl see is how something affects u instead of the full game.

im glad to see a bunch of ppl that have no idea how the game works in here. i would prefare mesmers to have moa over time warp.

moa = very easy to be dodged.

timewarp = not easy to be doged.

someone said win button? im pretty sure in a 1v1 thief guild and the warrior 1 and the ele heal elemental are win buttons except there is no way to avoid those.

but instead of nerfing everything because ppl need to L2P we should find a way to make a variety in pvp.

i will stay with timewarp because we have a great team fight. but for teams that want a more solo 2v2 fight team they should have the option to use something other then a useless elite.

there is 0 reason to use moa now that it does nothing except help the person you moa get out of the fight. and im not sure that is what is inteneded for the MOA.

suggestions to the moa if you dont want to change it back.

1. make the number 5 of the moa a 1 sec invuln block. that with the 2 two sec doges they get gives them 5 seconds of invuln. i think with the risk we take casting a moa and wasting our 180 sec elite for a chance at hitting them then we should get at least 5 seconds of dmg to them.

2. change it back to what it was. everyone cant complain about moa because its such a high rish elite probably the biggest in the game because its so easy to dodge. there is no reason it should be so easy to avoid then when we land it we cant do anything with it.

i sat with this new moa for over a month to see if it benefited anything from the new change and my only answer is no. it actually made the game a little less challenging in my opinion. as of now u know a mesmer would come mid time warp win battkle then the other team does it then you do it back.

please fix moa so games can be a little different again this is truly a change that needs to be made. (im not saying i will use moa just saying it needs to be changed back so ppl have the option)

the first paid tournament of the day everyday does not produce a chest. about 1 min before the paid tournament is over we all recieave a mail stating we get our tickets back.
(im at 20 QP now that i earned and did not recieave and QP matters)

As a NA player I would love to see some showmatches between the top teams. I think it’d be a lot of fun, help build the community and hell we might all learn a thing or two we might not have realized before about gw2. And that goes for both regions.

He came up with a strong anti bunker build since every team was running 2 or even 3 bunkers and he and his team beat PZ with that necro build and then they asked him for his build and PZ started running it and incorporated it into their comp.

Qwho had the original necro from day one that we dominated teams with (suoer squad when they was NA but they wont tell ppl about the few losses they had over here) and he was necro since day one of paids. im sorry we didnt ever exploit or bug and therefor not considered top team but we did great despite others abusing the game.

plus jaja was from newmoneys team which later became (AIM) were jaja asked qwho about his necro build which he later changes a little to what it is now a lil diff from Qwho’s and jaja started beating pz with us then kaypud started playing necro and double necro comps but you guys may continue talking about stuff u dont know the full story about. (i forgot i was kicked from QT and everyone hates me and i am aweful)

if you want a full true story about anything i would suggest asking ppl that have been in the mix sense day 1.

Lol, buddy, I was in the mix since day 1. And to be honest, on the few occasions my team lost to yours we would beat ourselves up over it.

i dont get why beat yourself up over a loss to us. we will q again then u have another chance to beat us. there is no point in getting mad or beating self up over something.

and there is really no reason to call out a whole diff server when we cant play them and have zero idea what is happening over there this whole post has been silly to read but great entertainment which is what forums should be.

some ppl take this game way to serious and it makes me sad. q up when paids start trash talk and be competitive for 4 hours during them and then after paids stop then stop q ing and stop trash talking spend the next 20 hours trying to make the game beter. next day rince and repeat. Gratz and I wish I could be up in the tournaments, but I don’t think sword / sword and rifle con or longbow builds are viable in touraments. They can be useful, but it is too much pressure for a con warrior player overall.
