i agree with you that trying to throw new ppl into paid is a REALLY REALLY BAD IDEA you cant go from hotjoin (zergfest) to frees (new ppl no challange) straight into Paid (really good ppl)

there is a few reasons you cant do this
1 ppl do not have enough tickets so they go in once against real teams lose everything then have to farm frees again.
2. they stand zero chance in a paid due to lack of strats and synergy and experience in great game situations.

now for your idea of getting rid of paid i would advise against it. reason
1. the best ppl need a place to stut our kitten
2. when there is 5-600 teams playing we really do want a place for the greats we dont want it how it is now were the good ppl play the news in free. eventually the grerats need to be in paid only not farming the goods.

good job on the post it seems like the majority of the community is useing our brain lets keep it up and monday we will hear from the devs.

i do agree censor that free is to easy my team actually q with 5 and made 1 of our players sit out all tournament just so we can win 4v5 and we won the whole thing. if advanced isint put in by monday we might try the blind fold thinggy lol.

and baam i understand that waiting for 8 ppl is discourageing but i read somwhere that they are trying to stick with this 8 man tournaments though. maybe one day it will be solo team ques with a ladder but i doubt it. we what we need to do is find a way for more teams to be made like letting new ppl stay in free and teams start building skill and synergy in advanced without the losing penalty and discouragement that comes with paids. and this will make q’s shorter.

i dont fell that pvp glory is a grind it is just something to work for but nothing you need to change the outcome of the game.

i agree if all they have is highschoolers to make it happen then i say send in the highschoolers. we need to still be entertained.

i would totally love this. we q for paids and then get a group of ppl that dont expect to be matched against the great teams. easy win.

the downside is the sacrifice kids (free ride team) would probably break there computer for that happening to them.

lets say a nfl football team gets suspended for a game but the nfl finds a near by highschool and says “guess what kids you get a free ride to the nfl” how you think that game plays out

but great idea i hope the community keeps pitching ideas we need something to happen.

but i think you are a person stuck in hotjoins . because no real teams or players complain about any class when you make it into real games every class has a counter and is balanced.

i hope advanced happens soon so ppl like you can get out of hot join into frees without being destroyed so you can learn how to really play and maybe one day you make it to advanced and have some fun games against us.

i see over 1,000 ppl at any givin time either in hotjoin or around the mist and that doesnt count the ppl in wvwvw and pve that want to do pvp but hate getting stomped. if ppl realise they need to consider everybody instead of a few then everybody will be happy.

go here this is a way to fix most of these problems very simply and it would take them less then a day to do it.

now im a hard core gamer i been pro done real tournaments on very competitve games. i want that good good stuff. that pro stuff that E SPORT scene for this game and i like your ideas and agree we do need the ladders the viewers and i want to help any any way possible. but first things first lets get ppl to play and stay. remember this game is brand new lol took a year to get all the kinks out but they always had a lot of games going.

i hope they dont respond with they are making custom arenas because that will be just as kittenv5 hotjoin. noone wants to try and find ppl to scrim with for ZERO reward.

ANET could have this up and running by monday night. they have the codes from free to let ppl in for free and they have the codes from paid to make it so you have to have 5 ppl to q so mix those together change the reards to 3, 2 and 1 ticket like the already show they no how to do then POFFF. advanced is in the game on monday night we all start having fun again and new ppl dont quit then good ppl get good enough for paid then old ppl come back then paids pops all day then and only then we add a ladder to make it even better.

awesome yesterday proved that an advanced class is needed.

zero paids were played all day. we did frees and stomped over 150 random pugs 500-0 we tried to be nice about it and said someday there will be another playlist that will take us away from new ppl. some of them said no more pvp for them.

that is what makes me mad lvl 7 and 10 teams going against us? and then we have ppl in the mist wanting a ladder for a playlist that nobody plays? hoping that the quitters will come back? worry about the 500 ppl in hotjoin all day thats 100 possible teams plus the 500 ppl sitting in the mists all over thats 200 possible teams plus worry about the 1,000 plus in wvw that want to do pvp but hate getting stomped by the greats. thats 400 possible teams on at any givin moment of the day. “give a man a fish or teach a man to fish” i would rather 400 teams get good over hoping 10 players come back to a ladder for a playlist noone q up for

5v5 structured hot join is a good idea in theory except noone does it because no rewards and how do we find ppl to scrim against anyway? an advanced playlist should do that for us this is a game made to be fun not work trying to hopefully find ppl on forums to scrim against.

im sure an advanced would get you guys paid ready in under 2 weeks. you would have more tickets plus would now have the skill, strats, and synergy to compete in paids and give every team a run for there tickets.

i hope every player that this will benefit will hop on this and post it so we can get the advanced playlist soon. i have a feeling there is great ppl out there they just need a place to shine without destroying ppl or getting destroyed.

i too also want the good ppl that left to come back i might even get my team back. but they wont come back to spend tickets in paid to try and rebuild synergy and just get stomped.

a ladder or views also wont help if there is noone getting good at the game to watch. noone will watch the same 2 teams playing all day.

lets say there is 3 set teams now. ptc and pz thats it NA. if advanced came out then in 2-3 weeks there would be 15 set teams. in 1 month 30-40 set teams + new ppl wouldnt quit and old ppl would come back because they can get tickets and play competitively then build synergy.

overall more ppl buy game play free find teammates go to advanced get better and end up in paid with a real team= zero negatives.

a ladder comes out first then yes old ppl come back realize they have no synergy try and reget it in free play pugs so they cant really practice competitively go back to paid get stomped and quit again plus the pugs they beat quit plus the great paid teams quit cause no competition for them and they dont wanna do free.

I like the idea sata but I fear that free tourney teams who are not advanced will still end up que’ing for this advanced playmode where they are possibly rewarded more tickets? IMO the problem is more community based then ingame mechanics.

i agree unskilled teams will come into advanced but atleast they will be in a full 5 party. and the overal goal is to get the unskilled players into more competion so they get better but in the advanced playlist will not piss them off if they lose because they dont lose anything. that will keep them coming in and getting better.

so now we have bad teams that get practice instead of quitting the game they get better and eventually do paids.

ok so for ANET i was told to make a quick paragraph for you what we want out of this post.

can you make a advanced playlist that is free to enter and you need a full group to enter. with the rewards of more tickets then free because the competition will be greater and now we are 1 step closer to going into paids the greatest lvl of skill. this will help the game because we can let the new ppl get better in frees without discouraging them plus we can play all day and we can get better ourselves so we can have more ppl equipped to play paids without being discouraged. eventually making a better pvp community so when ladders come out there will be a advanced ladder and a paid ladder.

yes i do agree it would split us up into 3 groups but truthfully you cant go from pop warner football to the nfl. pop warner is what my kid is in he plays around and has fun. then he will do highschool then college then pro. i dont want to do free neither does all the other top players in the game if you are good u dont fell any sastisfaction from frees now so lets leave that to new ppl so they get better and dont quit. let all the good ppl do advanced and after they get really good move to paids.

a ladder would do what paid did to us now.

paid came out everyone q for it with randoms. there was maybe 3 real teams that had synergy and strats and a main 5. so everyone else lost one or 2 games and said lets switch players or comps then still lost because they mucked around in frees and thought paid would be the same. now after a few more games ppl said no more paids unless main team is on. then ppl got upset that everyone doesnt have a main team on all day so they stand around the mist because free is not fun for good ppl. now friends that wanna play free because they are not on during paids quit because now they cant do either or they are off the main team cause they cant ever do paid quit. and its a downword spiral. a ladder will only be worse for the community right now it would make ppl lose more friends rage more ending with more ppl quitting.

if we have a advanced we would have a place were friends can play also without getting yelled at were ppl can build synergy go over strats plus have a great reward to enter paids plus it will be the top place for competiton until paids start.

but the number 1 concern in pvp is no q pops all day. and the number 1 reason for that is there is not enough teams that have either practiced against real teams or found a main team yet.

advanced is really the only solution to solve these problems. a ladder right now will only do what paid has already done but worse.

dont get me wrong i really want a ladder and i want it today also but who would be on it? 1 team? 2 teams? 3 teams? how about we put advanced in the game for 1 month so when ladders come out there is 50-100 teams

if ppl sit down forget what they “want” a figure out what we “need” you will see its a advanced playlist

so i have been asked how Advanced could be implemented and this is what i think.

Anet has the codes already from free to let ppl in for free plus they have the codes from paid were you need a full group to enter so lets mix those together. plus in paid there is rewards for 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th so lets add those to Advanced and make it 1st 3 tickets 2nd 2 tickets 3rd and 4th 1 ticket. use the free chests dont change that this is basically free you might want to up the glory though because it is harder in here so more glory would make more sence.

lets as a community voice this. the ladders and all that would be nice yes but truthfully how many set teams are there now? there is no point in ladders now until we get teams to climb them competitively. advanced now would make for better ladders in 1 month.

so after talking to ppl after this post. there really is no reason to do frees because of what i mentioned. no competition and you actually get worse for playing pugs. plus the other reason free takes a while to pop is ppl are scared to play it because of premades so right now free is a lose lose for everyone. (truthfully)

an advanced list built how i stated with those rewards would greatly improve player skill competition and would overall make paids a place were there is more then 8 teams q ing 1 part of the day.

so i have been asking many ppl 100% said this would be a good idea i want to know what everyone else thinks.

add a advanced list. that will be the same as free except you have to be in a group of 5 and you win 3 tickets for first 2 for second and 1 for 3rd and 4th.

reasons this will be good.
a.free
1: i wont feel like a bully when we go into free and destroy pugs. ( wow im so good)
2. the pugs will be able to meet other pugs and eventually form real groups.
3. more pugs will get paid tickets and fell better about themselves and will play more.

c.paid
1. can you make the maps random? (you dont have to but just a suggestion)
2. can you lock in the character you start with is what you have to do the full tournament with?
- paid is pretty legit but with adding advanced you will get more teams out of that that t can compete in paidsthat are maybe to affraid now, or they win a free against pugs then go to paid thinking they are awesome only to be embarrassed so bad they uninstal.

100% of the ppl posting on these forums want this game to get better. yes we cry and whine sometimes but so do babies because they just want something. this is what everyone wants.

frees – a place to muck around or find ppl to play with.
advanced- a serious setting to build synergy and go over strats build set teams
paid- a place for the best to be put to the test.

can everyone that wants this game to succeed please comment on this either good or bad. and can devs let us know how much work this would take for you to implement into the game (1 day, 1 week , 1month)

it does suck that noone knows who u are and noone will probably reply to this post but i agree 100%.

anyone who is any type of fighter knows you take the person out. this game is trying to change that mindset by leaving ppl down but not out?

so yeah for the ppl scared of a person coming back make a 30 second timer from the second they go down,

for the ppl that like action make it a 23 second timer the second they go down.

either way is fine with me i will adapt to whatever. but if ANET called me up today and asked what they should do i would say 23 second timer starts when they go down.

example: UFC – you knock someone down and dont finish them off(knock out) they can get back up get a lucky hit and end you.

most ppl i talked to hat them. reason is any good team that wins the mid and home node wont lose them after.

now the first death team usually loses making glass cannons meh.

but now you have to all sit at spawn wait for everyone to rez then try again. basically making it zerg wars to win.

we wont be seeing many 1v1 any more. (because if you lose it you lose the game for the team)

but whatever ppl need to stop complaining and adjust you are off base and need to not disagree.

or it would make more ppl more confident and more teams would form.

can you make the daily 5 tournament tickets and the weekly 10 tickets and the monthly 500 gems?

that means everyone can do 1 paid a day that would make paid pop all day.

i will be trying out ppl for new team to see the synergy. tired of 4 ppl whispering me bad about the other 4 ppl.

1. d/d or s/d roaming ele

2. power /condi necro

3. bunker guardian

4. bunker engi

5. trap/condi ranger

im not looking to train ppl on how to play there class but if you are very good at any of those we will be trying ppl out and making a main team by the end of next week. we try and play from noon to midnight pst running frees during day then paids when they come up.

so i talked about this before and it didnt go into this patch but like i said before it needs to be in here.

free doesnt really matter to the main teams that just want to do paids all day but we do them not to farm tickets like pugs are crying about but because we cant do paids.

if we can q for both we would be fine with once it reaches 8 teams it takes us out of the free game. we dont care about the loss we actually would be happy that the pugs get the wins so they get tickets and can enter paids also.

this is how it happens. we q for paids, 30 min later were bored so we q for free, 2 other teams were in free saw we were in paids so they q, 45 min later still 2/8 so they get bored and q for free and it repeats until 5pm pst when i lie and say its 6/8 hurry q then ppl q up and we play.

so please anet make it so we can q for both. and if you can reply to this post let us know if its a possibility. ty

lol i guess i missed this post. i can tell u that (AIM) players legit earned all 21 QP’s we got. but the reason i dont think they should be reset is the ppl that abused for them would rage quit the game and we will have less ppl in paid.

the ppl that do it justify it with “everyone does it” even though we are proof thats a lie so hey the 15th is tomorrow lets hope its fixed so we can have some good games.

and after this patch if there is new bugs lets hope the gw2 police is stricter on the ppl that abuse them.

(AIM) is recruiting 3 ppl for our main squad due to other teammates real life situations.

i guess yelling at ppl for cheating doesnt get u anywhere. they stay playing while i get banned for being one of the only legit teams out there.

hope the problem is fixed when i get back.

i havnt even been on in 2 days guess my rage 2 days ago caught up to me. i tried signing in today and got a ban message.

so warning to ppl dont freak out on cheaters just hope its fixed soon.

i dont expect all the guardians to drop the mace, only the good ones.

the ones that play with a broken easily abused weapon know that it will glitch out and the “it was an accident” excuse doesnt work anymore.

ANET is working on it so we need to be patient. but for now drop the mace.

its not frustration by any means. we laugh at unskilled players. and after we beat them we only get joy.

so we have won most our paid tournaments. the awesome thing is our guardian is not allowed to use a mace in paid tournaments.

reason 1. i believe our team is to good to need to exploit bugs
reason 2. we have not came across a team that doesn’t block bug (they say it happens sometimes, guess those sometimes are only when they and there team is about to get destroyed)
reason 3. if we beat a team 500-0 and i even thought we block bugged even 1 battle then its a loss in my mind.

now i understand everyone isnt as good. but it all comes down to your own self-worth.

last thing i will say is we all know there is a block bug and the devs cant find the reason, that is ok but for now if u come into paid and u are a guardian use something other then a mace. otherwise you are not good.

or u can have 2 guardians rotating it “accidently” and pretend u are good

IF ppl stay in free tournaments they will never get really good. practicing against random pugs pretending to be good is a waste of time in my opinion. stop worrying about losing and come have fun. if u win the first map u get ur tickets back.

i think one of the problems is ppl dont want to do them with out there main team. our main team only lost 1 game so far and won 5 tournaments. but when there not all on we pick up ppl. when we pick up ppl we have won 4 tournaments and came in second 8 times came in third 5 times and kicked out first round 3 times. yes it hurts to lose but remember its a game.

there really isnt a reason not to make a group and do paid if you lose to a good team thats fine. you still get better.

so what i am overall saying is if you are good make a group and lets have fun all day.

BOO we cant do them ever because no one is q ing up for them. so what can we do.?

1. can we transfer to the EU servers from 8am west coast time then back to NA servers at 5pm west coast time?

so after making 20-30 new friends from our last try outs our team still seems to only have on 2-4 great players on at a time and we just cant compete with the top teams. no matter how hard we try we loose by 50-150. so if there is any great players left out there that want a great structured team that wins 80% gold makes kylo 90% the time send me a in game friend request SAtaarcoeny or msg me on here.

we are taking anyone that is greatly skilled no matter the class.
