PS. SF thanks for coming into SoR BL after reset tonight. You have no idea how bored we have been in SoR bl the past few days. Been facing nothing but zergballs since the patch and honestly the last few days everyone has just been running from us before we even get in range. It was nice to actually have some fights.

Thursday nights are our traditional whip cream and buttercup princess tea party costume ball nights so we usually start a bit later than other nights and traditionally barge in doing something completely ridiculous like Jedmachine down the most difficult death-trap like gates to keeps we can find. We almost got in south west garrison that way too but you guys finally finished up in Hills and pushed us out.

Jedmachine a gate: A moment in time in which all reason and logic leaves the SF commanders brains and the entire force descends upon the gate, completely siegeless and just auto attacks it down, no matter how tactically stupid and inefficient it is simply because it can be done and/or because Jed is wearing sweat pants.

The problem is you’re attributing a larger theme to something that operates on a smaller level. While there is some overall strategerizering towards how each side wants to end in the overall points, there is too much goingi on overall for one map to affect that enough. Instead, the commanders are more likely to focus on mapcentric objectives. For instance, tonight, I can safely say that SoR and JQ were not working together and the circles SoR was running all night can attest to that.

Anet should just open up SOR and JQ’s map chats so you can coordinate a little better.

i don’t know. They’ve been doing this in ebg on most days for almost 2 weeks now.

I think the dynamics of 1v1v1 are amazing for that very reason. It is certainly not that way on the other maps.

Engineers can get to 1500 with grenades, but grenades are also not really for people with slower reflexes since you have to ground target and predict movement well, or at least know when to use them and know when to use another kit/weapon set. A staff necro could serve you well too though since they are much more focused towards tactical usage than direct fighting and you can stay on the outskirts of the battle, placing marks where you want to wreak havoc.

Great 3 way in bay over on BGBL, I saw quite a few SF tags so I’m guessing you were there.

I missed whatever fight happened in Bay. I was at class earlier tonight and got on just a little before the SoR/JQ sammiching of BG in garrison and then had to log around the point we bailed out of it. I wasn’t in that battle a whole lot either because I was silly and chose to play my grenade engie on a night that I should have realized would be plagued by skill lag and using ground targeted, non seeking projectiles is about the worst build possible for that situation.

In most cases it really is as simple as Server X not wanting to draw the agro of Server Y so they focus on server Z while Server Y either doesn’t care or doesn’t want to draw the agro of Server X so they focus on Server Z. Fighting a war on two fronts is strategically very difficult for anyone so any opportunity you can take to make that a single front, even temporarily, is usually smart. The “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” colloquialism works really well in this situation too.

With the way things were changing around so violently last week, I know there were plenty of situations in which it was better for us to focus on SoR rather than BG for the night and then come back the next time and switch things around. Perceiving coordinated tactics when it is simply commander intelligence/wisdom can be a common mistake when you quite literally have two worlds against you.

Last night I was looking at millennium and noticed BG was slated to go down and Kaineng was going to come up. Granted, it being so early in the week with such an off-the-grid performance from BG it will tend to skew things, it was still rather hilarious to see.

That guy really has no connection to reality. Not that SoR doesn’t have skilled players or anything, but that is the server that has guilds who openly state they just all run in one big zerg on purpose and don’t really believe in splitting players off to do other things like havoc squads.

Simple, the less and less Sober Jed is the better he, and by extension, SF and JQ performs. And Jed was really gone tonight, at one point he started singing “Just a small town Jed, living in a lonely world! Took the midnight train going anywhere!” and that was as far as it got before other people picked up the song and JQ Teamspeak went to hell.

Lol i had to drink for the other reason, it was becoming unbearable. Felt like they focused us the whole time not just the beginning. worst part was there was no queue by 9pm st. So we did our best. We were waiting for ya’ll to hit garrison, and time it up with hills but never came. But we all understand why we would get focused. By later in the week SoR will be a non-factor and it will be down to us again. Can’t wait.

I want to know what magic JQ did to steal SOR soul to have them work so hard for them. Maybe if we start dropping percursors JQ will tell us.

It has to be the second most expensive precursor. At least, thats what FEAR dropped in the GvG they tried to crash the other day.

It was tough on that map, at first really the only presence til Pro joined us. Not going to lie it hurt. you can tell by the waypoint already in bay where SoR was focusing on. JQ just joined em. We will keep smashing cause we know later in the week the rest of BG will be there. Good fights all around though.

edit: if you are on SoR, asking for even number fights is alittle messed up. we got steamed roll by them everytime, and when we did win fights JQ hits from the backside. but if you are Jq i applaud you on the tactics, and whatever ya’ll did to SoR to have them let you have a waypoint in bay.

As best I could tell SoR decided, for whatever reason, that they were going to focus on BG at the begining. We pretty much storm rolled through bay, nw supply camp and nw tower until we had any real resistance. That was enough to get us a pretty good foothold.

All of JQ commanders and at least half the players were just completely blasted all night. “Jed faceplanted into a wall, TAKE A DRINK!” and “Baroness is named Baroness, TAKE A DRINK!”

JQ got pretty lazy the last few weeks. No challenge.

Why SoR is getting points while JQ and BG losing in that millenium score…this glicko system was made for 1v1 not for this.

Because it’s based on expected score and rating entering the match. SoR is gaining because they’ve scored more points than they were expected to based on their rating against JQ and BG’s rating.

He’s right though, the glicko system wasn’t made for this.

The compound Trinitrotoluene (TNT) was originally used as a dye. Sometimes things created for one use can have an explosive increase in application.

Thats how SF stumbled upon pantslessness. We tried to dye them with TNT.

Good fights on BG BL this evening, after capping south half of BG BL it would appear that BG thought it was a great idea to rush North Hills gate with 3 Omegas and 6-7?? Alphas. With all that artillery, you guys deserved to take it We were almost at waypoint as well! Good job. Also got to do some tussling with Choo today as well, some pretty cool back and forth fights this evening there as well.

You left out the best part Jed. If they hadn’t of taken hills, we would have never taken it back and had the epic 15 minute fight in which a thief downed me on the bridge over the chasm so I could use the guardian #2 downed state skill to burst him over the edge to his death and then rally off it.

Seriously, I just can’t stop laughing, have to tell everyone. bahahahahaha

NA primetime for SoR is that sliver of time when all the JQ/BG NA people start going to bed and the SoR ones are still awake so they can zerg down keeps that are practically unmanned.

Jed, the sad truth is that you are claiming to mistrust an entire server based on the actions of one guild you disagree with. At the same time, you are throwing support behind a guild that has actually earned mistrust by breaking commitments repeatedly. If find this shortsighted, unfair, and hypocritical.

You misunderstand on a couple of things. I’m a member of Jed Quarry a play on Jade Quarry because I am clever and funny like that, Jedbacca = Jed = Big Giant Jed of SF. Second, the focus of my post is clearly about how people on SoR are suffering for the actions of others. I wasn’t backing up EMP or defending them, or frankly saying anything about them. I also wasn’t talking about my mistrust so much as I was talking about the general mistrust the JQ people there had for the SoR people there. I actually made the observation that the unlucky individual got what was coming to his servermate. I didn’t jump to the conclusion that he was there to grief, others did.

JQ/BG came out on top over SoR each time SoR rushed in.

FEAR has had a significant impact on the market. Rare prices have plummeted because of market saturation since SoR came up.

I would like to meet the dd ele who hasn’t RTLed back into what they’re running away from at least once.

Nothing against people showing off all their characters and everything, but pic score updates would be a lot more interesting if the background was the BL Map.

Last night I notice white swords on south supply camp so I ran down to check it out. There were two enemies there slowy pulling off guards and scouts to take them out. I ran up to them, jumped around in their faces, not hitting them and so they thought it was a bright idea to hit me. I let them plink me a few times, barely any damage at all, so then I ran into the vet who still had about 1 minute on the buff. I turn around, they’re both dieing to the vet, I’m two loot bags richer and laughing on mumble.

Throwing out huge props to whoever that [PRO] guild is on BG, though we have some guesses. After about 5 hours and around 15 attempts, they were the ones that finally managed to flip our spawn camp on BG BL earlier tonight. It wasn’t really a huge thing in the grand scheme of things but I think considering how hard it was for everyone else to do, they deserve some recognition for getting in there.

Nobody really said it, but I think the problem here is op/others is/are looking at things through the lense of a zerg and even though zergs are pretty dominant in wvw, having a good havoc squad or two on map can change everything, of which all three are pretty good for and defending something on my grenade engie ranks in my top 10 for favorite things to do in this game.

Yes though, BGBL was a bit different than usual last night. LOTD and KOTA mostly stayed up north and was in charge of locking down garrison the towers and spiritholm. That left the 30 ICoa + maybe 5ish pugs/randoms to try to take hills. It was challenging for sure with a bit less and there is less leeway for mistakes if your going with the medium sized tactic verses the mega, but that made it kinda fun. We knew as long as we kept the pressure south, our friends back at Garrison were doing their job, and we got the first Waypoint on reset not in EBG. Mega zerg isn’t the only way. :P

SF, your havoc team did a good job of staying away from our zerg. I only remember catching you maybe twice all night. We tried to go after you for awhile, and realized you were best left alone, its a lot easier to find Hills, it doesn’t move. lol

If you say “Danny Glover” 3x fast, SF Havoc will pop their heads out to say hi and slap you in the face!

Thats funny because its not like JQ lead through all of NA prime time or anything. It looks like that new JQ transfer [BUGA] seems to be working out pretty well. Held its own against both servers for hours.

TW doesn’t ever come close to fielding 60 players. The most I have ever seen them with was 30. But if you need to make up numbers in order to console yourself, then you have the right to do so.

Yeah, TW only ever runs with 15 people. They’ve said that time and again.

If I remember right smokee predicted BG to lose by ~50k and considering its closer to 30k coming up to reset, I for one think the match up between BG and JQ is in a good place (even considering the few coverage gaps) I think if SoR can fill in a few gaps and gain a stronger over all presence, T1 can get closer to being “balanced”

In my opinion, it could have been 50k or more if JQ wanted it to be. I gotta give em props to be honest. They’ve done a great job at using the scoreboard and PPT trends to determine when to give it some gas and when to lay off the pedal. It would not be in JQs interest to run up the score, as it would only potentially entice more stacking to try and beat them, which would be bad for everyone.

I can only speak towards JQ NA, but its definitely seemed like we’ve been a lot more laid back on anything that wasn’t reset day and even then we’ve been pretty good at keeping the ppt pretty close, sometimes leading most of the night. So to say that we’re being carried by FOO is inaccurate as it implies that we can’t do anything during other time zones. Heck, this week has had two SF Necro nights where we were 90% upleveled necros and one night where SF and PRX were doing Guild Missions followed up by very brief but dramatic appearances on SoR BL instead of 5-6 hours of warfare.

That is a fantastic idea sir. It enables GvG without splitting pvp up any more. Cheers.

Your entire home bl was green for three plus hours during NA prime time which so many on your server like to say it is the best at.

Its not so much that people are running in one big zerg, you can counter that by massive havoc, the zerg can’t keep up, its that the big 70 man zergs cause massive skill lag in a fight. I can’t tell you how many times we were wiping people up only to have skill lag hit us and lock us down. It’s gotten a little worse now too since you can feel it all over the map when two huge forces clash.
