You will never see HB and LotD run together and roam the map as one big blop. We do communicate alot and sometimes meet up to flank a map sized zerg, simply because the 15-20 HB or 20-25 LotD wont be enough on its own.

What we are trying to communicate is that there is 0 reason for any server to run around with map sized zergs when you have more than 1 guild on the map. It causes ability lag, culling and takes away the fun for anyone involved.

Like I said in a previous post, we do understand that you have to meet up to take heavely fortified and defended keeps. We are only talking about roaming here.

There is 0 reason for any server to run 20-man zergs just to “roam” around. It causes a lack of needing skill and completely removes the ability for even fights when you guys decide to zerg down small groups.

The BG and JQ players complaining about SoR zergs are quite hypocritical in this manner. They have absolutely no issue with forming zergs to roflstomp small groups, but when someone decides to make a zerg bigger than theirs, they complain.

This issue of hypocrisy extends to the group v group interrupt by Fear. I have encountered both SF and AGG interrupting good group fights that I’ve been in, just so that they could zerg us for some easy kills. Do not try to take the morale high road, as your actions are the same as those you criticize.

You would be very hard pressed to find SF doing something that doesn’t have some sort of strategic value. It happens sometimes, like our necro night, but usually we’re pretty focused in what we hit. That said, there is a pretty big difference between a fight you’re having with another server in WvW and one of us sweeping in to mop up the fight and FEAR rushing into a GvG.

Oh man, I guess we are going to have to transfer since we lost!

rallying everyone on your map to wipe a gvg? i agree with red is dead in terms of map strategy, but gvg’s are fun, and can be challenging and a place to try new team comps etc.. plus it builds somewhat of a community between servers and guilds.

Yet when people are GvG’ing and not defending our borderlands, it takes spots from people that are legitimately trying to defend.

It exists. We have our initial BGBL appearance in hills as Ikea came barreling through the portal and melted all the way up through the cap when we stormed the lord with marks. As for a keep lord, we did have one time where we rushed a spawn tower and managed to get a pretty well coordinated spread on the lord, he dropped in about a second.

It isn’t just that. Say you’re focusing on taking garrison, and the other invaders want it too. Neither are going to hit the other until they have to because if they do, there is a good chance someone will try and enact retaliation by hitting something that draws you away from your target.

I don’t think the score at present really reflects JQs "scare"last week as much as it reflects BGs morale this week. Alot of JQ were pretty casual about last week and were happy if we lost first place last week to BG because it provided some competition. As a few people said, “lets not lose any sleep over this, we are likely to be fighting them for a fair few weeks now”.

Obviously not all of us had the same attitude. I put in only couple of extra hours over the course of the week. I think its important not to see WvW as a duty and I think alot of JQ players know this and is a big reason JQ has been a stable server for pretty much since the start of GW2 WvW.

Anyways, Im out, time to go farm some more PvE!

Casual players don’t feel the need to cheat and if JQ were looking for competition they would not have. As far as stability if i remember right JQ was the legacy server first to fill and so even if the game dies you should still have players.(like the is it fat boy server in swtor)

First of all, he said “Alot of JQ were pretty casual”, and then mentioned that not the entire server had the same mentality. Second, when did JQ players cheat, do you have proof, screenshots? If you are referring to the random posts that were made on forums a few days ago, does that really prove that the major guilds on our server were hacking, let alone the entirety of JQ? If this is your stance, then every random hack/exploit accusation leveled at BG and SoR is true and represents the gaming mentality of that entire server.

I can’t really speak for other guilds, though I know a lot of the guilds we work really well with on JQ tend to have a similar approach, but we are very casual and you would be hard pressed to find us go SRSBSNS mode where the guild plans out an entire huge stretch of massive playtime. As an example of this, tonight, after most of the guild had gone to bed, only about 10 of us remained on JQ BL. If we were in such a SRSBSNS mindset, we would have made some sort of effort to siege up hills/retake it later on. Instead we discovered that we could goad this silly group of invaders into a perpetual counter-siege loop. Wondo could probably describe it better, but I believe it was our treb to counter their treb that was countering our catas that was countering their arrow carts that were originally built to counter our trebs that were constantly hitting bay. I’m fairly certain this would have continued for quite some time if everyone hadn’t become distracted by the next shiny object in the form of all of us on our necros spamming marks.

We’re in for a couple rough weeks, but that’s nothing to us; we’ve seen darker days back in the day. As you can tell we take great pride in the solid community that we have build since launch. We’re in it for the long haul, regardless of how many times we may go up or down in the rankings. True progression for us is not ppt or tier 1, but growing and continuously improving our community; the right way, not just buying off guilds.

Speaking of which, what little respect I had for BG has probably now completely disintegrated; much the same with MERC. We all have different play styles, and so long as they follow the terms and conditions laid out by Anet, all is fair in love and war.

However, having said that, paying off guilds with thousands of gold to come join your server demonstrates how low some will go for ppt and ranking; on the part of both BG and MERC (and any others who took the bribes). It is not that the behavior displayed by BG and MERC is beneath me or the guilds in our server, this is not a holier than thou rant far from it, but I guess you could say it is more of a complete different gaming mentality and “language”.

Regardless of how despicable I may find MERC’s “soulless” move to BG, this is after all just a game, and though it causes me to gag a bit saying this, I do sincerely wish them nothing but the very best in their endeavors; however contrary they may be to our philosophy in SoR.

I didn’t like it when people suggested we got gold/precursors for transferring to JQ from SBI and I have yet to hear a solid provable testimony that anyone going to BG received something similar, outside of funds that were actually spent to transfer people. If you have it, I’ll retract that statement, but don’t give a holier than thou speech based on rumors.

I feel that SOR is playing similar to how SOS used to play which was to ball up in huge zergs to run through their opponents.

SoR doesn’t zerg ball outside of maybe one guild I know of that still does it. It is an inferior tactic that is easily broken. In fact, when we first came to T1 I was shocked that people were still having success with both it and portal bombing. I guess that speaks more poorly of the bandwagon issues with skill level more than the server originals though.

I can think of 3 off the top of my head that were doing it last night.

No. Whack-a-mole was last night outside of SoR BL Bay with that noname BG guild just CONSTANTLY pouring out into our attacks that just devolved into people spamming the teleport exit…AND THEY JUST KEPT COMING!

I really want to know what that guild was thinking when they were doing that. “Maybe their gear will break from smacking us too much!”

One does not simply “ask” a question to Immortal Stei.

I’ve actually spent hundreds of hours documenting the ritual involved in gaining Stei’s attention and favor. For the uninitiated, it involves pink hot pants, a bobsled, a chipmunk and the song “Dancing Queen” amongst other things.

VOTF get my vote. Tsym would be right up there as well.

Red Guard demolished VOTF when they came over for a week to have some fun on NA servers. I have yet to see any guild nearly as coordinated as them with the same numbers..

Because winning gvg is all that matters right? Red guard are the best at what they do, but what they do is only small aspect of wvw. It’s the total package that counts. Don’t get me wrong I have nothing but respect for RG and I do consider them to be a great guild. Just not the greatest.

I agree with this. If we will talk about “best WvW guild” we need to evaluate so many aspects like how they fight, roam, attack, defend, siege placement, personal skills, etc.

In that case, it’s Strike Force. Having played against them and hating them when they were on SBI, to playing with them and loving them on JQ, I have to say SF wins hands down. I can tell you this, when they were on SBI, folks said “Crud, it’s SF. We’re screwed”. Now that they are on JQ it’s “Relax, SF inc. Problem solved”.

RG would be my vote if we were just evaluating combat prowess.

I’ve never faced HB in the clear, so I can’t evaluate them, but I’ve heard good things.

I’ve player Tsym for so long, I probably tend to overlook how good they are. Tsym is just an annoying fact of life on JQ. I bet if they went to another server, that server would get instantly much better, and you can’t say anything better than that.

VotF, when they are not sandbagging to farm badges, can do some really great things.

I guess the bottom line is there are A LOT of great guilds across all the servers. You could name about 20 and make a good case for them being most powerful.

d’awww! huggles for you! You forgot to mention our tasteful fashion sense and ability to coordinate a massive color scheme change on our armors without stopping our run between locations. Just last night we swapped from Jesus colors to a watermelon theme on a run from bay to garrison!

This thread is 10 pages of people from all three servers complaining about how the other two servers are always stacked and can only do anything when they have 2x the numbers interspersed with accusations in the same fashion of exploiting.

Grass is always greener on the other side of the garrison wall.

Perhaps if they use veil before rushing into strategery they’ll have a few seconds longer to come up with something.

I love the culling fix. I won’t drop any names, but it has been pretty clear since the patch which groups were relying on it as a tactic. Pretty clear and pretty hilarious.

That was a crazy fight between all 3 servers in Bay on BG BL btw. The final lords room fight was just a bright explosion of … a lot of dead people. Poor bay. It had like no walls, no gates… lol.

Was that the time where BG was taking out SoS while we (JQ) synchronized danced on inner ramparts only to find out later BG had been catapulting a back wall and using the big fights as a distraction? We held that for so many extra ticks because of those fights.
