We failed accidentally and it did not even work, even though I did do the jump. So is it really there?
Same for me. Was on north, we failed to defend the battery, tidal appeared, took the jump in the meanwhile, and no hidden success.
I fully agree with OP and about achievements which tend to have players doing something else than trying to beat Tequatl, like the “Tail Flail” one – nearly every try we have a group of players staying on the island on the back trying multiple times to get this not-so-automatic success, and thus doing no dps during that time).
Ecto salvage rates were ninja nerfed on the 20th. I know because I salvaged 25 rares and got 7 ectos out of it, which has never, ever happened before. I allways got 1-3 ectos 90% of the time, so salvagin them was a profit. Ever since the 20th patch, It’s allways a loss to salvage it. I salvage 5-6 rares a day and I haven’t gotten 3 ectos out of it in days, I’m always loosing money from salvaging them.
It was nerfed, believe it.
Then you’ve been lucky all the time. I’ve neved had as much as 1-3 ectos 90% of the time, i have around 0.75 ecto per gold (using master kit, not black lion ones)
+1, those overflow instances are really messed up (had the same problem today) and give a poor player experience (can’t play with people speaking the same languages on european servers, can’t play with your guild or friends, absolutely no hope to beat Tequatl)
I often have the same problem.
(european servers too)
There is obviously a problem on Anet’s servers, but Anet refuse to admit that and don’t care.
Yeah same here on European Servers (Fort Ranik).
Try standing down and representing outside in an explorable area. This bug seems to happen only in towns, and fixes itself when you’re out in the world.
I can’t say this assertion is not true (at least on my side) : right now i’m facing this bug and i was outside town (Gendarran Fields) when it occured (in fact, a) everything was ok and i was in Gendarran, b) I restarted the client to get rid of another bug, c) once loggued again, i was alone with my guild as not available / nothing hear / and so on. Another restart hasn’t resolved the issue. And neither has going in and out from Lion’s Arch).
Can’t play anymore since a few minutes. I can log in with my GW2 account, but once i launch my character (located in Lion’s Arch), the loading is really longer than usual and then i get a (new) 1083:5:7:1848:101 error. Yet another bug day in Guild Wars.
After ~10 failed tries, i did it today with guildies (thanks to them).
This path is seriously broken.
In the end, we did it with 3 rangers (1500 range), 1 guardian, 1 warrior. It was really easy in the end, when everyone had learned how to escape the strange attacks from the tree (when he raises its left arm, on the right of the screen, just before moving his head > double escape), but it was quite hard to understand clearly how and when we have to do the escape (as it’s probably the only attack in the game without AoE on the ground).
It really needs to get fixed, right now there are no hints for the players to learn by themselves, by their mistakes, how to fulfill this path (thus so many topics on this subject).
Well this is a poor start… just bought the game and registered and cant log in
You’ve just joined “Bug Wars”. Hope you’ll stay anyway … (but we’ll all understand if you want to leave GW2 and start playing something else …).
Same on european servers since 19:05.
This “bug” or login “behaviour” is really annoying now (occured several times in the last few months).
Would too like to see what story have been done by which character, or make “story account bound”.
The main problem is that right now the amplitude between gold owend by casual players (playing only a few of these events) and huge farmers becomes huge. And this will lead to a major inflation, and casual players will probably be away of a lot of things (mini-pets and other things to buy on the TP, and maybe even level 500 crafting).
I never had crashes for months, i haven’t changed anything on my computer (neither hardware nor software or drivers) and, indeed, since one week, i have a lot of game crashes now (especially when doing hourly events).
This problem occured several times in the last months, it’s incredible it still happen after all that time.
On Twitter, as usual, a mere “We’re aware of the login issues and are looking into it. Thanks for alerting us so quickly! ~RB2 #GW2” (6 min. ago …)
Did you check your graphics settings? The patch set all my graphics to high, which makes it take longer to load. One of the settings has a huge impact. Texture detail maybe.
I tried. No luck. I downgraded nearly all settings (wheras my comp’ can finely render the game in full high settings, as i was playing until today), and even with lower settings, the loading is still way more long than before.
To be noticed : i have the feeling that the loading is in two part. Loading screen on then i can hear the music but loading screen still on, and only after 10-20 more seconds, the loading screen vanishes.
The very last patch states :
“Performance : Fixed an effect loading bug”
But for me it’s even worse than before.
I don’t have and SSD by the way but a regular SATA HDD.
For reference, there is another post on the same subject here : https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/jubilee/Loading-screen-times-increased/first#post2572077
I noticed exactly the same thing.
Every loading screen is way longer than before. Even those that are on the same instances (let’s say in a dungeon) are longer than before (whereas before they were quite quick). It could be considered as not a big deal, but a bit annoying in the end.
It will take significantly more time to make 12 differents paths than doing twelve times CoF P1 per day.
Some dungeons have pre-event (CoF, CoE, …) and will probably be at least some time (maybe most of the time) failed (and corresponding dungeons closed), find a group will take more time (even with an ingame LFG tool, as players will be way more dispatched on various activies than right now), a lot of dungeons paths are rather long compared to CoF P1 … so in the end i think that it is quite unpredictable. In the end I’m not sure that there will be so much gold added to the game this way.
I agree, i bought this deluxe edition too, and i have rarely so badly spent 20 bucks on something. Totally useless. It’s a shame.
I agree. It’s the worst mini game ever made in GW2. I hate this game. Confuse, boring, slow, no strategy, no control on what you do. Really, a poor choice to have given this mini game.
Same for me just after the patch. I’m on Fort Ranik (EU serveur).
Same for me !!! (path in 3 hours and a few minutes later, forced game reboot)
Hey.
I’ve just collected enough tokens to buy a CoE armor.
But with the arrival of ascended armors (with the new 500 craft level) is it a good idea to buy a dungeon armor right now ?
I would be quite deceipted to use so much tokens (1380) to buy an armor that i’ll “have” to transmute in a few months …
So any idea at what would be the best to do ? Get this dungeon armor and use it in the meanwhile, keep the tokens just in case ascended dungeons armor would show up ? Is there any official informations somewhere about ascended gear available with dungeon tokens (that otherwise would become really less usefull than today) ?
That’s a pretty good idea. The waiting time on those hologram projectors make them quite boring at this time.
So bad about the global state, i’ve missed a lot of events with your timer due to this lack of global state
(i’ll probably have to make my own timer some day, but yours is the closest of what i would do on my side)
On a side note, sometimes it is totally unsync-ed.
For example right now : it shows “warmup” on “Destroy the chaotic materials created by the reactor meltdown.” whereas the event is already finished (and was correctly shown on the guild wars temple dragon timer). I don’t know why, i suppose your refresh rate is probably quite fast enough … maybe a flag stuck somewhere for a few events.
One side note : i think it would be really helpfull to have the “global state” of the event showing the state of sub-events.
Right now i’m doing the fire elemental world boss. That event has no state on the site (gray box) whereas the last event is “active” (once unfolded). It would be easier to have a special state on the main active for that (something like “in progress” and only depending on any sub-event being active)
Interesting. You have some interesting features (sound notification, customization, and of course chains of events).
Most other dragon timers are wrong, because they don’t take in consideration the chain of events. I’m not interested in “shadow behemoth is occuring right now”, but, indeed, on the start of the first pre-event.
What’s really missing on your tool in my humble opinion :
- the time aspect and the time window clearly shown for each main event (that means, know the time window of each main event, store the timestamp when the event ends and then show a counter stating how much time before the next window, in addition to the real state given by the api)
- maybe something a bit more graphical (even if the page is clean and nice looking)
- the checkboxes “already did done that one today” would be a plus
I was playing without too many difficulties on Arch Linux with PlayOnLinux.
I strongly advice you to try PoL. There is even a Wine 1.5.28 patched for GW2 and including the addition for accessing the trading post.
Sadly, i had to stop using GW2 on linux :
- it’s slow (20-25 FPS max on a i7 with GTX680 with low/mid-range settings, compared to ~60FPS with max settings on windows)
- i haven’t been able to find how to see the area of effect red circles on the ground … it’s very hard to play some dungeons without this graphical hint
It’s sad because i never use Windows for anything, i can do absolutely everything under linux, except playing GW2 in a decent way. In the end i put back a crapy windows 7 on another partition just for being able to play. As a side note, on the same hardware, the game loading is really faster on linux than on windows …
