Yeah a way to convert those items back to gems would be nice (maybe they could give back 50% of their initial cost).

I wasn’t aware that they were going to destroy them.
I haven’t thought one seconds that something like that was possible … it’s just … unbelivable. Removing those potions from loot tables, ok, but why destroy the ones sitting in player’s inventories ? I feel cheated (i’ve lost quite a few WvW levels in the process).

Looks like Anet have made it so that each character has thier own part in bumping up the dailies reward track… I like it, I hope they keep it.
I don’t think it’s intended as it would be unfair for someone with lots of toon slots. I have 13 level 80 myself but I really don’t want to exploit this unless any of the dev says it’s ok to do so.
A few people are know to have 64 toons, i wonder what they are doing right now
On a side note : if you redo a wold boss that you already did before the patch, still with the same character, then you do get the daily bonus reward (small chest, bottom right of your screen) but not the big chest on the ground (that reset is quite weird)
I fully agree with OP.
It has been discussed several times : something is weird / wrong with RNG in this game.
In the long term, there should not be so much differences between accounts.
Whereas right now some players with 4000 hours play (like myself) had to grind a lot more than other players with really less hours play (or A.P.).
In the end, as stated by OP, some players have to grind way more than others, and in the long term it’s quite unfair (as it’s real life time in the end).
All progression on beta characters is not saved on your main account. Ever complete any achievements, such as the daily, and seen that it didn’t transfer over? Why did you think that these would be any different. Anet has stated many times that anything done on your beta characters will not make its way to your main. They even have it plastered at the top of the screen when you play any beta character.
“Beta achievements” are under the general achievements on your main account. It could totally be like any other achievements : achievements done by playing the beta, to reward players who pre-ordered the extension.
Beta account is clearly a fork of the main account : they just had to show the beta achievements only on the forked account, when you’re playing on one of your beta character.
Putting those achievements right inside the main account IS misleading.
An official answer is still needed (no, some words by a player stating that someone from anet gave him the info in game is not an official answer).

2500 is way too low for yak slapper. I have over 8k yaks killed and I’m not a roamer/havoc squad type of person. At least make it 10k or yak slapper will be commonplace which really screws over the efforts of wvw players.
2500 is way enough.
It really depends how you play : if you play often with a big zerk, killing yaks is really hard (they die in 0.25 seconds, only ppl at the head of the zerg can get credits for the kill) and there are no Yaks in EotM.
Really, 2500 is fine.
Just check the other achievements (even the repeatable ones) : how many times have you recycled 200 items without getting A.P., or how many dungeons have you ran outside the goal ?

I am sure it’ll it drop a bit. But being a collection item, and highly prized, even with the event fixed there will still be a large number of people who would rather just buy it.
Look at Pendant of Arah, Commissar’s Manifesto and All Seeing. Those events are working fine, but they are still pretty high priced. Plus, if the demand is a reflection of the number of players who need it for the collection, then all those that do drop won’t be sold on the TP. If it does drop in price, it won’t be for a long while, until the majority of players who are needing it get it as a drop, and continue farming the event (if at all) in order to increase the supply.I suspect that after a month or two, with the event fixed, you’ll start to see lower numbers of people running the event. Partially due to the fact that they got their drop, and the event chain itself isn’t very profitable.
I’m pretty sure Sam will go down in price to a bit above the price of Komissar Manifesto.
Indeed now it will be (as it should always have been) a normal event easily doable / repeatable.
And a lot more of players will be able to drop Sam just by wandering in the map (doing dailies or exploration).
Lyssa event is still way harder to do (as you have to find a map where the defense has failed, which may sometimes be quite hard when ppl are succeeding the defense event), maybe the drop rate is a bit higher (the price of All Seeing is still quite low).
Same problem since two days, and it’s worse and worse each hour.

Yeah i’m really disappointed by the gobbler.
The transformations were appearing way too often before.
If now there are even more transformations when using it, i won’t be able to use it anymore. The most boring part is the cooldown between each use. If at least you could double-click a lot of times in a few seconds … but there is an unbelivable cooldown of 3 seconds between each use.
I hope it won’t be too long, otherwise it will be quite unfair for people that have already played a lot in this game before HoT.
Very basic rule : do not put too much money in a single market.
I hoped that with the new wallet this would have been investigated and fixed but … still buggued.

I agree, the current limitations are way too low (i get more drgonite each day than i can transform with Princess, and still have tons of bloodstone / dragonite stacks in my bank / inventories).
Would be nice if something could be done for those 3 items.
A few ideas.
A) Remove the daily limitations as proposed in the first post.
B) Have a progressive cost, for ex first 5 consumes are cheap each days (like actually) but next ones cost more (some kind of an exponential cost, maybe).
C) Have an upgraded version of those items. Put XXX globs of ectoplams + XXX spirit shars + Mawdrey in Mystic Forge (or whatever the recipe would be), and voilĂ , you have an upgraded version that eat more and more stuff each days. The process could/may be repeated a few times.
D) Allow to get / create more than one of those resource-eaters per account. Maybe one per character, for example.
E) Lower the timegate. Instead of 24h, have a 12h timegate.
So – five months later, as far as i know, we still don’t have your potions back. When will they be refunded ?

Have been misleaded by the fact that on some maps my character is less dark than on other ones.
I’ve took an old Arah screenshot and i made the same screenshot today at the same place.

No, it doesn’t work anymore.
Bad point is that the old “Abyss” color has been lighten in this patch.
So “Abyss” is now just another “deep gray” and “Shadow Abyss” is exactly like the previous Abyss color was previously.
Coat carapace box are bugged.
They loot quite often for some players (some people got them 50% of the time), and other players (including me), never get those box (not a single box after 25 runs, besides the first granted one).
This is clearly bugged and is not acceptable.
This event is quite time consuming (at least 20-30 minutes – upping the map until breach, breach, and 10 min fights) so it’s really unfair to have such a bug affecting some players and not some others.
Please correct it as fast as possible, thanks in advance.
The drop of those carapaces boxes are totally broken – or rather totally unfair.
Why and how some players may have very easily those boxes whereas other players will have real difficulties (due to “bad luck”) to grab them ?
Why some players will only have to spend 1 or 2 hours to have those boxes whereas other players (including me) will be have spend 10, 20, 100 or maybe even more real hours (real life hours) to achieve the exact same goal ingame ?
How is this fair ?

Ok, this is definitely (sometimes) bugged and leads to a lot of waste of time : i went again on the badge at #27 (still with my main toon), and whereas it wasn’t there the three previous times, this time the badge was exactly where i had looked before.

Just go to that area with another character and you’ll be able to do the snowmen again.
I have the same problem, i’m stuck at 29/30.
Day patch, i took the 2 last badges at the end of the silverwaste jumping puzzle and a mesmer has ported me to two of the hardest badges (#7 and #30 on dulfy.net guide).
While playing i avoided taking badges but may have took a very few one.
Yesterday, i started following dulfy’s guide. I went to each place. Now i have visited every place and found a badge everywhere excepted :
- the 4 that i took before and was sure to have grabbed
- the one at #9 but he’s really obvious (beginning of the puzzle jump), i’m pretty certain that i grabbed that one while playing
- the one at #27 (north zone accessible through skritt tunnel), and i don’t remember grabbing it while playing …
I’ve checked each place three time with dulfy’s guide (and with 2 different toons), no badges left.
I’ve checked then by following another guide (that one : http://www.guildnews.de/guides/saat-der-wahrheit-der-grosse-guide/768/2/die-goldenen-verlorenen-abzeichen/ ) and still i can’t find the 30th badge.

I really thought at first it was a very good idea to save them and to use all of them later on a locked path (let’s say arah for example), but all in all, i should use them as soon as they drop :/

I had 14 in my bank, they just vanished ! Have checked all my chars for 10 minutes just to be sure that i hadn’t put them in one of their inventory, but no, they have really vanished.

I made several bug reports in the beginning, nothing has ever changed.
On a side note, i only had this bug on my side on crimson (may be different for you), so i stopped doing crimson and i’m only going to amber / cobalt (never had the bug on those ones, but other ppl have confirmed that it happened from time to time for them at least on cobalt). It may be related in some way to your profession and/or way of playing (where you are, what mobs you target/kill, what “role” (condi, …) you take, and so on).
This is a MAJOR bug, very annoying. It is weird that it has not been immediately hot fixed the first day.

I’m just below level 700 : on all those rank chests, i only got one exotic (and a few yellows).
A guildie has the same 700 rank : he got 5 ascended rings, one box, and several exotics.
Same problems for me.

2. is the game bugged since the beta and never corrected by ANet. It IS a bug : if you’re alone / not doing enough damage (even hitting the champ’ the whole fight) you won’t get loot. You have to be in a group to override this situation (the damages done by the group as a whole match then the minimal required damage to gain loot). But it is clearly a bug : even alone, you should be rewarded with your loot when you participate in the fight.
The most incredible thing is the lack of actions from ArenaNet about this extremely boring and annoying problem, lasting for months now.
When will this problem be corrected by ArenaNet ?
It still happens EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Might I add that a simple comment from John (or any Dev) that states emphatically that there is NO secret LUCK factor tied to any player / account / character anywhere in the code (or ever has been), might help to squash some of the crazyiness I envision showing up in this thread. Just a suggestion.
I’m pretty sure that nobody think there is special code about that.
But we’re a lot to rather think that RNG is bugged in some way, and that’s why, in addition to a “gauss distribution” as described in the previous post, some players are always lucky and some are always unlucky. As the RNG mechanism is all in all quite complex (modified by magic find ; depends on damage done by the player / by his group compared to damage done by other players ; special items with a different table loot ; …), there could be several bugs introduced in the system. Remember that the % of magic find displayed in the hero panel is wrong since months (but the real number is supposed to be correctly applyed), so it wouldn’t be surprising that there are some bugs in the loot mechanism itself.
Bill, it’s unclear to me from your last response if this fix is already live or not. Can you please confirm? Was this a server side fix or will it require a new build?

- the patch is live (since 10/12 hours after last update)
- the patch was server-side only
- no need for a new client build

Same problem for me. We just made a few tentatives, no one could interact with the 4 nectars on the ground.
On my side, i can say that it happens (quite frequently) on CRIMSON and COBALT wurm.
But, as far as i’ve played, i never had that bug on AMBER.
Does any of you already had the no-gold chest bug on AMBER ?
As stated, EVERYONE has been ejected from the map at the exact same time (we were all on teamspeak).
So it definitely can’t be a problem on my side as you’re (falsely) supposing.

It is not a bug but a feature.
It is like that since a few months (wasn’t possible indeed before that).
And it’s quite often (2/3 of the mystic forge with only 80 gives me exotic < 80 in return).
