Raid is the best thing about this expansion. It’s just amazing, it’s what I play MMO for.
(But they broke two aspects of the game I enjoy most; Fracs and WvW)
(edited by Samnang.1879)
Yeah they need to stop with that e-Sport business and just focus on giving us fun events like Wintersday but more frequent.. once per month or something.
And FIX MAJOR bugs that prevent mastery progression… like the fractal weapon skin achievement… is bugged. So many things are bugged that hinder progression.
Living Story season 2 achievements are bugged, can’t get the achievement even though I clearly done the objectives. There are so many things I had to do twice in order to get the masteries.
Potoni in Tangled Depths is another one…
(edited by Samnang.1879)
Dying in GW2 is not the end of the world…
OMG…
Any fun names for Tequatl? I’ve heard Taquito, because cheap like 7-11. Uhhhh…Taco keep em’ coming.
I call him Tequila
And their acid can insta down you (even with the Nuhoch mastery).
Chak = master race.
I’m mad because they keep making us make these “spiritwood planks”, which involves boring things like gathering.
I wouldn’t mind if it takes a long time as long as the tasks are actually fun… like the collections themselves are fun tasks… spreading 100 bloodstone dust etc. Gathering thousands of soft wood to make spiritwood planks? = BORING.
Start crafting mithrillium thingies… because I’m sure this armor will require 250 deldrimor steel
Is the only way to get Prismatic Lodestone recipe is through the Bolt II collection completion?
I want to make Nevermore, one of the ingredients is “Prismatic Lodestone”, I researched it on Wiki and it said one way to get the recipe is from Bolt II collection completion…
Is there any other (easier) way to get this recipe?
I personally find that a bit weird? That we have to half complete a different precursor to make a precursor for an entirely different weapon… >_>
I hope Anet doesn’t nerf raid; this is the most fun I’ve had. After having spent the past week raiding, every other aspect of the game seems easy as anything.
Raid difficulty is awesome, Anet please don’t nerf. Giving difficulty level means literally nobody will be doing the hard setting.
And why are you trying to make this game into WoW? IF you like WoW so much, play WoW, not GW2.
In raids so far, only one (healing) Druid is needed per party.
So one of you should play revenant or elementalist if you want to play together and be invited together. Also get ascended gears.
Ele’s will be invincible if there’s no timer on the attunement.
It’s not any abomination. Its the first one in Amber. You have to coat yourself in the gas it leaves and than get swallowed by Amber Wurm
No, it’s the one that runs to the Vigil Crusader while doing the escorting quest, at least that’s the description of the achievement.
I killed the abomination twice today for this Triple Trouble Wurm achievement, “Wurm Bait”, but could not get it…
Does anyone know if it’s bugged?
Oh god, I hope there’s no ad infinitum IV… as if the current ones don’t use up enough balls of dark energy.
I predict to make the legendary, we need to combine 3 of them + 250 ______ in the mystic forge. Hopefully that’s it.
NO MORE collections.
Great suggestion.
I want to toggle my stats back and forth without having to create a zillion armour pieces :/
ME TOO!
I’m so happy, after 4 days of constant raiding, I finally finished it today!!!
It feels amazing.
I love this challenging content where you know it’s hard but you can do it if you focus, Anet please don’t nerf.
Speaking out of my own experience it does feel awesome if you can hardly beat it but still beat it. The perspective changes a lot once you realize that you can’t :p There are players of various skill levels. There will be always somebody who can’t. And the harder it is, the more people will fall into this category. It is not possible to satisfy all ends. Only two things matter. Usage metrics and business model. ArenaNet surely got them both and in time they will draw their own conclusion.
PS. Grats for the kill. Good look on the second one.
Thank you.
I’m not a skillful player or a hardcore player. I would rank myself as an average skilled player. I just have patience and perseverance.
Im fine with raids as they are as long as they remain a side activity with equal attention in development time spent for open world, fractals/dungeons, wvw and pvp. But that is very hard to achieve. There is a certain group of players who crave for night after night of wiping on raid bosses and waiting for that moment when they finally learn it, kill it and then get “that amazing feeling”. The problem with “that amazing feeling” is that it only works once or twice. It works like a drug. After you learn the boss and start to farm it, you want to feel “that amazing feeling” again and you ask for more. There will always be hardcore people who clear hard content rather fast and then what? Need more raids! There is no 100% good solution. If you REALLY want Arena to satisfy what hardcore players want, they would need to turn GW2 into yet another “raid or die” experience. At which point they would be also forced to put some easy mode into it to prevent casuals and “bads” from leaving. If I wanted that sort of meta-game, I would have never left WoW. Because quite frankly, no matter what Arena will do, I don’t believe that they can beat WoW in quality of raiding content.
I don’t know about others, but even when I’m failing, I’m having fun and laughs with the pug groups. We got it down to 1% like 3 times, and we all laughed it off.
First I would like to start out by saying ANET did a wonderful job. I love that there exists something in this game that is hard now. It also is not too hard for 10 people who are all doing their best.
That brings me to my second point. Ignore the tears ANET for once. If players want easy face roll content tell them no. Make sure they understand this raid is not that. If they want to beat it they need to try harder and quit complaining. Thanks
If they want easy, seriously just do events on the new map or AC…
I don’t understand why they want everything to be spoonfed.
ME TOO!

‘Oh yes spank me harder’
Artificial dps checks=/=difficult content
It isn’t about the dps, yes the timer means everyone literally has to go zerk besides the 3 condis.
But the teleport aoes, the burning floors, the boon stripping; you need more than just dps in these raids. You need tactics, you need to move, you need to time your dodges. And I love it.
It’s hard to do, yet not impossible.
I am by no means a hardcore player, or an elite. But I still love doing challenging things.
I don’t like easy things like AC dungeons or most world bosses (fire ele, jungle wurm etc), how can you have fun if you just stand there pressing 1?
I just want to say I love the difficulty of raids, please please don’t ever lower the difficulty.
24 hours in and still no success. This is the type of challenge I’ve been looking for since the beginning of launch.
Even though I’m failing, I’m having so much fun, because I know I have to be on the ball throughout.
They want a chance at permanent _______.
I know I would want a permanent banker soooo bad.
I have no problems with the ele fireball, lol. It seems Anet is under pressure after too many complaints about skill cluster.
They just needed to tone down the bright lights in my opinion. But oh well.
I would like a virtual reality MMORPG, so maybe GW3 can incorporate that technology? What with all the Occulus rift and whatnot.
Dragonhunter’s traps don’t activate against non-moving monsters e.g. World boss Golem… is this a bug or it’s working as intended?
It’s why I’m so repulsed by PvP. You can read the other team’s messages and sometimes there are people that will just get aggressive and rude with you for no reasons.
I don’t ever want to play PvP because it makes me hate the game, and it’s annoying that the new legendaries require the tokens from PvP.
I’m placing my hopes on the legendary armours to be released when Raids are coming.
I just hope they don’t need 1 million random items to craft or more generic looking robes/dresses.
Quality over quantity. Most of the armours from the core game look the same… same robes/dresses, ain’t nobody got time for that.

Want logan x rytlock
I agree, I think the prompt should only be for exotics, not for rares :/
sell those frac encryption boxes…
They are account bound now.
Anet loves kittening me over. Been saving mine to sell it all in one go. So messy. Why do they just change things without a warning? So annoying. It kittens people up.
I don’t get this post. How do you know raids will give a lot of gold?
I doubt they will give any more gold than doing any other things in the game… typical Anet style; do challenging things for the same rewards as braindead things.
If you enjoy doing braindead things, just farm frac 40… and sell those frac encryption boxes… 1 gold per run… faster than dungeon runs.
They can’t even have your character sit in a chair! You think they’re going to make mounts for everyone?
Too much work, never going to happen.
More girly fairy wings on the way.
Corrected.
Don’t regret it… They gave us a new class, plus 9 new elite specialisations… I’m not going to complain. I play 7/9 classes, so I have fun experimenting with all of them.
And the 4 new maps are amazing, yes I get frustrated by the complexity of the map… but aren’t gamers in love with complex map designs? I thought gamers don’t like linear maps… isn’t that why most people hate Final Fantasy 13? Because it’s too linear?
I actually prefer linear maps, but if I can tolerate the complex HoT maps… I don’t understand why so many are not able to tolerate it… lol. It takes a while to get used to, but everything becomes easier with repetition :/
And I can’t believe someone said Silverwastes is more fun than HoT maps lol… Silverwaste, in my opinion, is boring as anything… there’s no challenge whatsoever… just autoattack with 1… no need for strategies.
I suppose my mentality is different to a lot of people… I like things that are challenging… I don’t mind dying several times to beat a boss. I like strategies and teamwork.
(edited by Samnang.1879)
I think it’s pointless.
Farming the mats myself = boring + require time + possibility of going cuckoo. Farming the gold doing fun things like events, wvw… things I want to do = fun. So it’s better for me to buy it from the TP.
I would only craft the HoT precursor since it’s account bound.
If you didn’t enjoy the core game, if I’m allowed to be honest here, you won’t like the expansion either…
It’s pretty much the same stuff, just new things that expands the core game. You also need HoT to play class elite specializations.
What I like about HoT are the elite spec, and the gliding… wish there were more gliding. I feel like I’ve rushed it in the first week, and now I need another mini expansion already ._. Or for raid to come soon.
(edited by Samnang.1879)
The butterfly wings aren’t big enough to glide… /anet logic
Omg, please don’t do anything to the mentor tag.
I’m actually able to HELP people do octovines and Dragon stand stuff because of this tag. They can follow my tag and instructions.
Mentoring does not mean sitting still explaining things to people. It can also mean leading people to where they need to be/fight etc.
I’m not paying 300g for a commander tag.
And just because a few people misuse the tag, does not mean the rest of us who use the tag for good have to be penalised :/ That’s unfair.
(edited by Samnang.1879)
Not what I had in mind. Thanks for the replies though.
I’ll just think of it as a mesmer bug or something. Since I’ve only encountered it once, and nobody else seems to have that aura.
No, the effect was more polygonal…
screenshot would help a lot ^^
could be a bugged visual mesmer effect
Forgot to screenshot it :/
Saw someone with a pink aura that glows and whirls chaotically around the person, what is that item? It sort of works like Preserved queen bee, I suppose.
It’s not Quip, as this aura is larger.
I don’t actually mind the crashing itself, it’s more like… losing the rewards while doing the HoT meta… like Dragon Stand’s meta… wasted 1.5 hours… only to crash at the mouth… twice.
I’m on a 64bit windows using the 64bit client… and I have never crashed before HoT, even in super crowded areas like a full WvW map.
But now I’m crashing like 10 times a day… this is beyond ridiculous…
If you have real money, anything (not account bound) can be obtained.
I feel your pain. I remember when mesmers were invited for their reflection skills. Until guardians received a superior versions.
That class seems congenial to the Borg, adding other classes distinctiveness to their own to achieve perfection. Guess by the next expansion they’ll tame animals, drop well, open portals and slot kits. With extra punch, ofc.
Resistance is futile. ^.^
Just add stealth to that, and everyone will be playing Guardian.
Because Guardian/Dragonhunter is master class. You will deal.
Bags, essence of luck…
I swear my forefinger will develop arthritis one day.
You know you can save up a stack of luck and “consume all” now right?
Oh thanks the heavens…
None of that are necessary, if you played the story you would know.
