I just want to be able to dye the flower different colors. ;_;
Please, anet. Half the Sylvari in the game are crying out to you.
Funnily enough, the people in mine random buy influence all the time without being forced into it. How uncouth.
You get those in BL chests, too, so maybe they’re not as altruistic as you think.
Just sayin’.
I was referring to people straight-up buying influence in the guild history, but yeah, they do blow a lot of discoveries and whatnot on [TV] as well. =P
Where you’re farming might have an impact (event mobs and whatnot). Spent about 25% of my time in SS running around, 50% doing events and 25% farming pre-patch mobs, and I never got a box outside of the 50%.
I want to dip every single item I can equip into cantaloupe dye, anet.
You do remember that commander is not a WvW-exclusive thing?
Some kind of requirement for wearing the badge in wubwub, then.
OP’s list is weird, but there does need to be something stopping some kitten with a pocket full of change from leading off half the noobs/pugs on the map when they’re needed on competent wubwub commanders.
Kind of wondering if this SS line is leading up to another reward akin to the ancient karka’s, what with the queen and all.
It’d make sense. A lot of people (me included) missed out on the original karka event. If they pull out a major SS storyline every six months or so, everyone will get to experience one of the funnest-looking and best-rewarding events ever in GW2.
Besides, it’s not like we couldn’t use an influx of precursors to take their insane prices down a notch.
Obviously whatever they’re planning is set in stone now, but I’m allowed to guess (hope).
Gotten about eight tonight, in and out of overflow. Four of them off the rioters at instigator events (they only drop loot when they drop a supply box; one gave me a box and a vicious claw).
I guess guild value means required fees.
Funnily enough, the people in mine random buy influence all the time without being forced into it. How uncouth.
What should happen is a guild can introduce a tax and a percent of the gold you loot actually goes to the guild bank.
Hot kitten is that a terrible idea.
What do you do when
. . .
you have no need for dungeon running because everyone’s geared, and there just isn’t anything you really want to do but you still want to play.?The point of dungeons is not for gearing.
The point is to play them to enjoy them. If you don’t enjoy them, might not be the MMO for you.
So it’s true. We really can’t have a single critique/appeal about the game without someone pulling the ‘gtfo u arnt the targit audence wrong game for u lol’ card.
Ran it at least 45 times (not including the four or so times we got kicked out). Never had any trouble when people knew what to do.
I actually ran it on my full-tank guardian with runes of superior mercy so I could revive people as quickly as they were dropping. Thing is, I hardly ever got downed on the final boss even on my pure glass thief.
Stay out of firestorm’s AoE pools, burn it down while avoiding ’serker’s fairly weak melee and jumping/dodging his stomps (very easy to do). Phase two, stack directly under ‘serker for his stomps (you can also jump them, it’s just safer to stack). Very simple formula.
Compared to even TA’s required first boss encounter, it’s laughably easy. Doesn’t mean I didn’t have to spend most of my time reviving people who weren’t familiar/wouldn’t follow advice, but I myself learned with the first run.
Honestly, the most annoying fight in the whole dungeon is when you get translucent slimes at the end of the tunnel.
They’re adding another set in — you guessed it — more RNG chests with the next update. BoA to boot.
General consensus that I’ve seen is that they’re ugly as eggs. Only one I find decent looking is the GS.

I slaughtered a facegating zerg singlehandedly with a normal AC built as the gate hit 20% and two points in AC mastery.
40+ loot bags.
Anet says they want to keep this level of damage to players, just not siege.
Pretty sure AC will rule the siege roster for a long, long time.
They really need to just spawn tons of normal mobs instead of these tiny numbers of impossible billion-HP time-wasters.
Especially given that we’re in Orr. We should be fighting hordes of Risen, not the odd ridiculously-overpowered normal mob that can’t even be killed before the timer’s up.
It’s the one place in the game I could come close to fighting masses of enemies at once, too. Hopefully someday we’ll get increased player numbers matched with increased mob numbers, not gamebreaking juggernaut mobs which drop nothing.
There’s a reason the last escort to Balth was always my favorite, despite its increased difficulty.
The only purpose this topic serves is that there needs to be some serious quality control implemented on who gets to wear a commander tag in wubwub.
I don’t want someone like OP on my server, let alone sapping away valuable bodies with their blue dorito.
in my oppinion wvwvw JP reward should reset every sunday , not every day
Splendid idea.
Don’t forget the borderland JPs
No wonder you named your character Scumbag
Though do enjoy trying to play the game as it goes out of business. When the PvE’ers leave, this game is done. Whom do you think buys Gems to keep the servers running? You think they’ll encourage others to buy the game???
snortgigglepfffff
So, because the EB JP has been made a daily reward and will have fewer/no ports, all PvErs will quit?
Mhm, mhm. Sound logic right there. The EB JP chest is the glue that holds GW2 together, after all.
I suppose it never occurred to anyone grinding their legendaries that the Badge of Honor requirement was so you’d actually have to partake of another gameplay mode and aid your servermates to obtain the most elusive items in the game.
Now if they were called Badge of Jumping Puzzle Exploit, this topic might have a point.
The trash is only troublesome with particularly bad pugs.
Maybe duels and guild wars will move to the formerly-EB JP now?
Whose members feel the need to include anyone attempting the puzzle, of course.
Enjoy getting your legendaries the lazy way now, PvE scrubadubdubs. :V)
Dear entire EBG population of IoJ who just zerged Pang from both sides into our superior bag farm for fifteen minutes while most of our forces waypointed to other ventures,
Thank you.
Dear IoJ commander who suicided a golem into Pang,
I love you.

Don’t know how they were in GW1, but I’m imagining a tab under the guild screen for getting there, guild trophy room, everything in the hall upgradeable/buildable from rare drops on guild missions, workshop with guild crafting stations, guild banker, guild BLTP liaison…
OH THE POSSIBILITES~~
PLEASE, ANET, PLEASE
We are actively working on addressing this. It takes more time than you might think, however, because we also have to make sure to have a solution that doesn’t mess up people who have achieved titles already.
Except it is physically impossible that anyone has any of these achievements/titles yet (which is the problem).
It’s to the point where if they were scaled back 100x it’d still take a lot of commitment.
(edited by Scumbag Mawile.6384)
You know they’re all 10-15 silver on the TP, right? o.o
Huh, I actually never bothered to check, are those the exotic everlasting versions?
Yep! I bought a half dozen of the charged ones for my guildies.
I must have spend close to 2m karma so far on the boxes and still not one tonic sigh.
Spend the initial karma you have without the karma booster, that saves you a bit of time.
You know they’re all 10-15 silver on the TP, right? o.o
And aye, that’ll help, especially if you have a lot of karma. Well, unless you’re like me and like opening large amounts of boxes at a time. If not, buying what you can, opening them, then popping buffs and drinking everything before buying again might save you a couple silver/couple hundred influence.
Folks, take a peak at Elbe’s posting history. Seems a tad too ‘unintentionally’ inflammatory and confrontational to be taking him seriously right now, hmm?
And no, Tig, it’s not just wishful thinking. I provided screenshots of the lodestones I obtained from these boxes (not the ones already in my collections tab) and there are many other forum posts, videos and drop tables that show similar results. o.0
The 100g hour is inaccurate…….it completely ignores how long it took to earn the jugs, which is the major time factor.
Except I never went out with the sole intention of gaining karma. I rarely have to do something to complete my daily/monthly (they complete themselves most days), and when I do, it’s mainly for the laurels, not the karma.
Karma/jugs are a like a bonus that build up over time until pop a few silver/influence, spend an hour/the health of my joints clicking and take home a very nice little sum.
What I’m wondering is why so many people hate it? :S
Because a) You can only have it on one character on your entire account, and
b) The only people allowed to get it are the dungeon-runners, since there isn’t any alternative way to get (or at least get credit for) the cutscenes that complete the achievement track.I haven’t seen much complaint about the gloves otherwise. Kind of a shame really—if they looked horrible, I wouldn’t mind so much being locked out of getting them and having totally wasted my effort and participation for the last couple of months.
Why not do the dungeon?
Because it’s a dungeon and forces you into a group, instead of providing options for both group and solo players like the old GW1 storylines gave you?
Oh no, a group. Boo hiss, we hates the other people, yesss.
It’s a single story dungeon that takes far less than an hour to complete. If you somehow don’t know a guild/have friends who’ll run it with you, just pug it. You have a half or better chance of getting with a good group.
Dungeons are great and don’t get much love from Anet, this is a change for the better. You can’t expect something to be made a cakewalk because you’re scared of playing with others for half an hour on a massively multiplayer online game.
I had enough of the ‘5 man dungeon’ in WoW. I don’t want to be forced into one here. If I wanted to run dungeons, I would still be over there.
And it doesn’t matter how long it takes to complete, the fact is the whole storyline can be soloed and then they spring the 5 man on you at the very end. It’s wrong.
4 days ago, I loved this game. I couldn’t get enough of it. Now, because of the 5 mans at the end of F&F and Personal Story, I can’t stand to log in. Being mocked by that “Defeat Zhaitan” and “Flame & Frost: Retribution” in the top right of my screen makes me feel like complete and utter garbage.
Ehh… okay?
You know guilds are everywhere, right? And that there are plenty of friendly, competent ones who’d be quite happy to have someone else to do a dungeon with?
GW2’s intent was and is to encourage player interaction. I find much more enjoyment when playing with (decent) others. If you don’t want necessary multiplayer content, I really don’t know why you bought a game centered around it. =s
So much racism in this thread, only Americans should be able to play gw2?
since when was american a race
From a theoretical standpoint, “race” refers to ethnicity, of which “American” can be considered to either be an ethnicity or a group of ethnicities. Therefore the discrimination of non-American ethnic groups could be referred to as racism.
The more correct and easily-understood term would be xenophobia. Although -phobia can also be argued to be a poor term for it, cf. the term “homophobia” and homosexual discrimination.
I’m pretty sure they just don’t know what racism means.

In game series called monster hunter you dont even have such things as visable health bar for monsters, can you imagine that? Also If it would apply for world bosses than same would need to apply for everything.. which would question balance i think
Well, yeah. But MH is too raw and metal for us poor wee mortals.
Just imagine the kittening if an enemy as difficult as a ’jho was implemented.

I think they’re rather fond of the artsy look to the current HP bar.
What annoys me most is how there’s a good 5% more HP than what’s shown on the bar. It’s hell watching the last survivor trying to solo the boss when its health has been sitting at zero and it just won’t go down.
Some ratios and a reminder of what your karma can get you.
Had +95% boost for most of this (15% karmic infusion, 5% ice cream, 15% guild buff, 10% guild banner, 50% karma booster), then +90% when I ran out of time on the first (had to do a 5% banner).
Oh the joys of saving jugs. About 100g worth and some minipets for an hour of rapid clicking. My fingers hurt.
WvW commanders, quit yer kittenin’ about karma surplus and take a trip down to Orr.
I think there is an in-between to be found between ruined ore and OP’s elitist tryharding where gameplay is both fun and profitable.
(edited by Scumbag Mawile.6384)
I don’t think any sort of bonus gear is needed from dungeons. Many people don’t like running dungeons, and they would be excluded from obtaining “better” gear or be forced to do something that isn’t their cup of tea. Currently, all of the best stats in the game can be achieved in various play styles (pve). Open pve, dungeons, or wvw. No one is left out.
…eh?
Ascended rings come from Fractals. Fractals are the dungeons of dungeons to people who don’t like dungeons. You can’t get any kind of ascended gear from WvW (I don’t consider the months-long mostly-PvE daily grind known as laurels as qualifying means). Gear definitely isn’t balanced currently.
That being said, yeah, while ascended gear would be a fine reward, more tradeable skins/better loot all around is all dungeons really need to be a bigger part of the game.
Not likely that the people I’d like to read this will, since they’ve been mostly chased off by all the biased hate thrown at something they’ve put so much effort into… but hey, I can try.
The biggest ongoing issue I’ve experienced has been rewards for time spent/difficulty. It’s broader than just dungeons, but what with recent talk of boosting dungeon difficulty, I’ll focus on that.
See, most dungeons aren’t done by many people nowadays. Besides the guaranteed monetary reward, there’s not much incentive to go. The chests are clogged with vendor trash and it’s odd that I get even a single rare in a dungeon with three treasure chests and piles of trash mobs/bosses.
World events give guaranteed rares (or better) and chests that reward me with additional rares far more often than dungeon chests. And the thing is, these world events never fail. Some are done in literally a couple of minutes, even after the update. You can do a half dozen world events in the time you’ll run one path of a shorter dungeon.
Current dungeon rewards aren’t enough for most people (with the odd exception, like CoF1 farming, which will no doubt be fixed up with the dungeon buff). With a difficulty buff they’ll be run for tokens and tokens alone by people wanting a skin or legendary gift, and finding a group won’t be easy.
Increase rewards for dungeons. Hell, have a daily rare-or-better chest with each of the three boss chests. Most paths take the better part of an hour or longer. If people have to try the whole time, give them incentive to hit these dungeons and not just spend the same amount of time racking up shinies from 5-minute world bosses. This goes double for dungeons that are already very difficult and rarely run (which are about half of them, sadly).
I really like your content and running dungeons with friends, Anet, and I’m not alone there. Just gotta work on that carrot.
Make ’em wanna risk it for the biscuit.
It’s only a bad salad if Trahearne’s in it.
Happened twice to me so far and to other groups.
Is anyone working on this? I don’t care about getting DCed, but losing progress on the whole kitten thing… major problem.
Arrowcarts damage should stay as is for players only, not siege.
This is a good point, actually.
Arrows are meant for hitting flesh. There’s really no reason they should have much effect on solid wood and metal, e.g. every piece of siege in existence.
It’d also make rams and golems viable again now that a single AC can massacre either. Nowadays the only purpose a ram has in taking an objective is if it’s deserted or defended by someone too dumb/unsupplied to build a slaughtercart.
GW2LFG’s CoF filter is a great way to find names to add to your block list without needing to learn the hard way.
Oh, come on. You can’t expect them to keep a dungeon around after the lore has progressed past it, that’s just silly.
Now I really must be going, I wanna go kill Zhaitan again.
Yep, you can still do the cutscenes, instances… hell, you can still go repair signposts.
Or just not have tiers and have matchups randomized/shuffled.
Seriously. What’s even the point of tiers that’ll end up locked anyway? There’s no reward. Higher tiers get infinite queues and tryhards who ruin the game for many. Lower tiers get massive population gaps.
If there needs to be ranking, it can be for how a particular server fairs in its random matchups. You still get points for dominating, you just don’t dominate the same people over and over. Far more variety and way less boring, in my mind.
As it is, no Ascended items can be obtained without at least some WvW.
It’d be nice if the next Ascended slot released, helms or something, were WvW-exclusive. Either that or all Ascended gear is available in WvW. PvE shouldn’t hold priority over other game modes, especially to the point of not letting WvW have a reward exclusive to it (outside of standard Invader skins).
Took three tries, but my guildies and I did dredgeformer, moleman in disguise, then rock ’em sock ’em charr.
Just tried to kite socks/run out of range of his slams and burn moleman down with ranged.
All but Dookie, our Guardian, wiped right as I decided we should be running out of range of the new and improved socks’ shockwaves and kiting him around, but Dooks just tanked him for 20 minutes, took out half of his remaining 25% and rezzed around ’til he got me up and we revived the whole party.
kittenn do I love this instance.
And someone go draw R34 of those two. I’ll pay ya.
Maybe go one step further and make ascended weapons only in WvW
Make the PvErs WvW for 3 months just like WvWers had to PvE for jewelry.
Actually, we have to do WvW for our shiny weapons already. Ya know, map completion and all.
Getting ports in the JP isn’t WvW.
with the skeleton crew we had defending…
You guys had like twice our number, while simutaniously drawing orange swords vs DH in the north.
Because there’s no way those were DH’s swords.
Y’know, I wouldn’t mind the nightly unredding if you’d go for each other a little more.
SF keep is the last major piece of red on the map and the focus of SF’s defense. There are 11 keeps and a castle between you. You can’t defend all of that, it’s paper and easy to take.
So what do you do? DH runs around south SFK and IoJ pokes around up north.
Go get more points for yourself and let SF’s few oceanics/night owls leave and do something funner than watch a zerg scratch at the walls. I was under the impression that relative friendliness would mean no more extreme 2v1ing.
I thought DR had left this tier?
What can i say boys, welcome to the tier
If youre going to get all sooky over this and the nightcapping you might want to get used to it ASAP. Your server has enough numbers to dominate ALL maps during peak times, then you think you have a right to complain when you get double teamed? lol! You were the strongest server on reset and have been all weekend.
Knock knock is anyone home? Couldnt help but laugh when i saw DH on the other side, didnt know you lot were already through the outer wall!
Ah, but we didn’t need to double team. We 1v2ed you into submission.
Youve just stated exactly why we double team you… You cant be the strongest server in a tier than cry when you get double teamed
I love it how we get the blame for your servers lack of coverage
Sounding a lot like DR! We’re not just going to wait a keep gate for your defenders to log on…We’re going to flip the whole map. Dont cry too hard guys, the matchups only just begun, we’re in for a long and bumpy ride
And btw, that keep was ALWAYS the last thing IoJ had in the whole of WvW and we very rarely lost it, it is a great keep to defend, a horrible keep to attack.
Eh? I never complained about the nightcapping. My post’s right up there, you can reread it again if you want.
I said I don’t care about nightcapping, just that it’s boring for all three servers to do a stalemate siege on the last thing SF owns rather than taking the paper keeps from each other/going out for camps and towers for SF’s bunch.
Remember, I haven’t given you too much to le mastur trogg xdddd about. Don’t get too wild with the taunting, you might wander into the realm of tryhard. ~.^
You’re in the lead plus you have no people on right now it’s just common sense that both servers view you as easy pickings. You’re crying about it.
I’d cap an empty BL in a heartbeat. Like I just did with our own flipped BL. Dat WXP.
However, if it was an enemy’s terf, and their defenders were bottled in a T3 structure badge farming our zerglings who kept rushing through their AoE… Yeah, I’d take people somewhere else or leave WvW to its own devices for a while.
Me complaining about a boring WvW is like me complaining about never finding a tanky build to hit at reset. It’s a critique. Both were a total badge farm for SF, but both lacked the luster of challenge.
…Okay, maybe two-shotting everyone in a zerg had its own charm, but sitting in/outside a keep for two hours and accomplishing nothing is just boring all around, no matter the lootbags.
All the more reason for me to cry about it.
WAAAAAAAAH
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
