Where’s that famous ‘take-it-all-back-while-SF-is-sleeping’ night crew of yours, ET?
Defending your tower and camp? :vvvvvvv)
You mean this Crew? The one that was stomping you while you were fighting back.
All your Garrisons are belong to us.
They do tend to start much later in the AM.
Congratulations, ET night crew! Successfully zerging six defenders is quite a feat for you! :vvvvv)
Alas, the day rolled around and things returned to even footing. Oh well, there’ll be no resistance in another twelve hours or so. We like letting you dream at night.
Besides, nothing to cap = no rewards. Gotta level dem alts.
I prefer /laugh.
Usually for thieves and fall victims.

Just started getting this. Happened on Jormag, crashed, got back on and was denied my loot. Next I went to Teq and it happened immediately, restarted GW2, set the quality lower (thanks to map chat) and finished the fight.
Now I can’t even turn up my sound quality from when I set it low without the game crashing. Really would like a fix for this, GW2 happens to sound nice when you aren’t kicked off for wanting to hear it.
What if I told you…
that you need to be online to read that reply?
It would be kitten fine if it was.
@Danikat If the choice is between Orr never changing or missing what Orr was, which do you think is the funner or better decision? If Orr never changed, Orr would never be special. If Orr changed, old Orr would become that much better in memory.
And if Orr changed before someone start playing? If all of the world changes slowly, where’s the problem? They’ll have their own Orrs that they get to know but get changed so they don’t stay stale and show some actual growth in the world, a key promise about GW2 that was made but failed to deliver.
Assuming it does slowly get re-done. If GW2 suddenly turned into the living world I was told it was, I’d be pretty kitten enthusiastic.
Maybe they’d even turn dynamic events from every-20-minutes repetitious miniquests to plotted events that played out much more slowly and with greater reward. I wouldn’t mind completing a DE chain ten times if it took me three months to do so and actually changed the state of a region for more than the ten minutes it took to reset and become undone when no one’s around to complete the ‘repel the invaders!’ events indefinitely, at least for that week or something.

The permanent contracts you can get from them are worth a few hundred gold each. Of course, they’re exotic and you’d waste a ton of money with no real chance of getting them, but that’s marketing.
I left that siege when they were trying to build a catapult to hit unkillable walls. =/
I liked the part where they wiped three times trying to portal bomb the catas.
I knew you knew how much I liked loot bags, you flattering scoundrels >/////<
I’d like to take a moment to thank ET.
Without their gracious permission, I never would have gotten the Eradon Terrace Garrison’s vistas.
scumby wuvs woo :vvvvvvvvvvv)
So I’ve gotten exactly 250 kills so far on an underleveled alt, a very exciting night.
I’ve also seen some incredible enemy tactics tonight, from ‘guys don’t even try we’ll just wait ‘til they’re sleeping and take all their kitten’ to ‘IF U SMACK REAL HARD WIF UR NOSE IT BREAK EVENTULY’.
A truly captivating experience. Thank you based ET & FC for the opportunity.
Awh, it’s okay Sigdur. I know it’s hard trying to handle our basedness, but you’ll manage.
As long as it picks up later. These teeny tiny little unexciting/uninformative bits don’t qualify as story; more like tone-setting.
Hopefully the reason for the lack of story-meat is because they’re working on the main stuff now and just doing really small things to set us up in the meantime.
There should be no guild content in-game that a five-person guild can’t accomplish.
If Destiny’s Edge can do whatever the kitten they want, player guilds should too.
People will complain about anything.
There are still a great many things worth criticizing with this patch. Namely issues left untouched.
HERESY!
Brave Quaggans like Commander Spleedoop risk their lives for the safety of Tyria and THIS is how you repay them?
+1. Based Quag smiles upon you and your efforts toward securing the best race as playable.
This doesn’t need to be locked and pointed to the QAT, by the way. It’s an appeal for a new playable race, not appreciation talk. Based Quag decrees it, ooOOoooOo.
Actually, there’s a little something called a ‘Mesmer’ that can literally pull you through that key JP.
One of the rewards to working to stay on top of the competition.
You do realize that the EB JP gives max 15, min 4 (that’s the lowest I’ve gotten, at least) badges, where the three border JPs usually give 5-6? They’re also incredibly fast & easy with a speed boost and are almost never camped, especially your own borderlands’.
Or, y’know. People could just go out and do WvW as part of the legendary process like the devs had intended. It doesn’t hurt, I swear.
EDIT: “nuzt” sounds a little different from “nuts” to me, friend. :vvvvvv)
Even with the fixed loot drop rates, WvW doesn’t net anyone nearly enough to make up for upgrades; some single ones cost the better part of a gold. Nothing in WvW should require money spent unless WvW turns into a lucrative activity. =/
what if taco the sunlegs and jormag and a shatter fighted each other?? :vvvvv)
The WvW JPs are a shortcut to getting BoH besides playing WvWvW. You were originally supposed to be out there fighting and being stomped trying to rack up 500 of the kitten things; instead, they give you this lazy route through and you whine about ‘immature’ players wanting to PvP in a PvP zone?
The most skilled player in the game could run into another at a JP, kill them, and remain the most skilled player. If they’re naked, like some choose to go, then it doesn’t require any skill to kill them, but it’s no statement about your own.
Legendaries are supposed to be hard to get. Blueprints are supposed to be expensive, badges are supposed to be rare. You expect a free run through an easy-as kitten JP to get them + gear loot every day? Only if your server’s worked hard enough to secure it/you’re good enough to fight your way up to it.
PvPing in PvP is being immature? Crying about getting killed in a killing field is being immature. There’s nothing stopping someone running a JP from whipping around and fighting back. They aren’t helpless. They’re supposed to fight their way up, otherwise it’d be on a PvE map, wouldn’t it?
I’m actually pretty happy with fast-paced full-map camp/tower/keep flips. They really do make badges (and a whole lot of other goodies) rain from the sky.
Don’t know if T7 is just as bad, but on SF only half of the people tend to be useful/think and grab supply, help build, know how to rush, etc. The last two garrison invasions I’ve been a part in have flopped because half of our invading force stayed outside to fight guards and get hit by ET/FC playing peekaboo out of the wall gap instead of siegerushing with the rest of us.
We have some good commanders and a lot of good players as well, but it’s definitely not universal. While I often see smaller groups of SF killing larger groups of ET/FC (half the time because they’re retreating, which makes no sense unless they’re just that terrified that our 15-man zerg’s going to inflate to a 70-man because we’re big bad SF), simple sieging logic is lacking for a lot of people. This coming from someone who’s been at it for barely two weeks.
Numbers aren’t why we’re winning, but we aren’t exactly overflowing with skilled fighters, either.
If the broken scoring finally gets noticed and fixed, I hope T7’s far from perfection as well, because our idiots aren’t exactly being forced to shape up with the level of competition we face currently.

Y’know, if certain legendaries were linked to certain/a certain handful of DE chains, it’d definitely populate the maps more evenly.
Like, say, Harathi Hinterland’s centaur chain containing three steps along the event (so people couldn’t just show up for the last bit) and gives you a necessary piece you need a certain number of for a part your legendary.
Special events that weave through a map and necessitate keeping up with the whole thing would not only populate a map but make it entertaining, I think. Money from the kills and the rewards of about a dozen events, with the major reward (including piece) at the end.
I’ve actually been wishing they had a reward ‘screen’ like at the end of a dungeon for long DE chains. It’d give everyone more incentive to do them and see them through, even if the increase in reward was minor.
Because the last time the other servers held that JP, they killed anyone who came up.
Plus, y’know. It’s meant to be treacherous. If you’re running through naked I’ll assume you took off your armor because you wanted to know how fast you’d die without it.
Guardian’s definitely one of the safest bets (literally).
If you want to do well/be popular in all aspects, Mesmer. Or Warrior. But Warriors are boring as hell.
Definitely not Ranger. Necromancer and Engineer also have it rough.
Lodestones. Very, very rarely.
Yer lucky, ET. That Garri was drained, every keep and supply camp was green, but we had too many idiots headbutting guards outside the wall breach to properly rush 2 unupgraded ACs and a ballista.
dem 8th tier skillz
I’ll just throw in that it’s been nearly half a year since a promised fix to an entire /class/ (not the only one with major problems, but definitely the most badly broken), with absolutely no feedback about it since. It’s like rangers have been written off.
Playing anything involving other people as my class = frustration when I should be having fun. That isn’t how a game I both bought and spent 100$+ extra on should be.
And you know why I spent all that extra cash on gems? Because I liked the game. You make money on a product when it’s an attractive one, and definitely not just in the graphical sense.
Drix just made this thread 5x as funny and 10x as cringe-worthy.
Did they secretly add a new Elder Dragon boss this patch?
Because all I’ve gotten to fight of Jormag’s have been Icebrood and Claws.
Or you could baby-cat off and make your own thread about that completely unrelated subject?
It has nothing to do with the abysmal state of rangers or the even worst neglect, false promises of a fix and ensuing silence shown by devs who have to know it’s an issue, like they have to know a lot about their own game.
I’d say it’s just some corporate greed/difficult-to-maintain schedule rolling down the lines that prevents them from spending as much time/resources fixing what needs to be fixed, but that’s just hopeless guessing. It’s just so hard to understand why they’d leave a class broken so long.
Actually, six of us in an ET BL tower wiped a 20-ET zerg tonight. I’d been ready to jump out the back since it looked like a guaranteed loss, but… o.0
Oh, and no siege. Just bodies. Vets were history, champ went down fast but then they just sort of… ran around and died?
Nightmare hounds look awesome.
I’d rather kill Nightmare Court-people (Courtians?) and steal one, though.
Bet it’d do beefy damage with that bad temper.
More that it’s up to the attacking force whether or not they leave/time it with an assault group.
Zergs likely wouldn’t think they needed that kind of minor support. It’s the sort of thing only small groups would bother with.
Sort of.
Without the siege, less of a PITA to take out, and on a timer (goes without player interaction).
Enough to dent a gate with a few ‘waves’, but it’s the sort of thing that the guard respawns would mop up.
And of course, finding groups of NPCs fighting along the roads always adds a bit of flavor.
Just a thought, but what about assault units being dispatched to enemy targets from walled objectives every so often?
Small (3-4) group of vets from towers, maybe seven or so vets from keeps, two groups that size out of garri and one in all three directions from SM every half hour or so.
Not nearly enough to even begin taking down an enemy base, but certainly another element to work with nonetheless. Over half-a-dozen upgraded WvW NPC vets added to a zerg can have an effect; they could also slow down undisciplined groups who stop to fight rather than avoid them.
If there are no nearby objectives, they just patrol the roads outside of where they came from.
Hey all,
We made some very intentional changes to the way we calculate loot. One of the effects of this change is that there is more loot dropping in WvW. Yay! Increasing the loot in WvW was one of our goals and we’re glad that it’s making some of you happy. Also, just to be sure that we were comfortable with the impact it had on loot in WvW we had our economist do some analysis of the drop rates in WvW after this patch. After looking at his results we’re still comfortable with the changes. On a personal note, I was very happy to get a much better badge drop rate when I played yesterday
Tl;dr: it’s not a bug, enjoy the loot!
KISS ME
The chances would have to be puny, even punier than the daily’s chances, I’d say. There’s not even a 50% chance of something extra from the daily itself as it is (or so I’ve experienced).
It’s odd that you get anything extra, let alone something useful. I think I’ve gotten something more valuable than a random booster/expediency item maybe four times.
I’m so sick of the embarrassing sylvari dance.
HOW DARE YOU
Randomly pumping your limbs around and grunting are the purest forms of dance, plebeian!
Four more daily achievements = bunch of gems-worth of GS items?
Yeah, not happening.
Even if it’s only chances, just look how ridiculously rare forge stones are if you don’t buy them. Getting 1-2 extra a week for each player is srs bizniz, not even counting the others.
Deny Based Quag’s licks, deny continuing to live.
- Fixed a bug where you could access the bank without paying a gem fee. All exploiters have been permanently banned.
- Fixed a bug where killing enemies in a large group rewarded loot. All exploiters have been permanently banned.
- Black Lion Salvage Kits fixed to be even more necessary to the game. They now cost slightly more.
- Fixed a bug where Black Lion Salvage Kits were obtainable through means other than the gem store. All exploiters have been permanently banned.
- Fixed a bug where forum users could voice criticism or opinions. All exploiters have been infracted and permanently banned.
Pokemon’s one of the most popular games around, actually.
Fun?
I built a bunch of ballista inside SM but the zerg left before they got through the inner gate.
Just me and ballista. Alone. Bag-o’-lootless.
YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO CUT ME OFF
Fact: Every person who comments ‘QQ moar’ and ‘L2P’ have Thief mains and don’t want their precious OPness nerfed away from them.
It’s more entertaining when you have to try, y’know.
Thank you based support.
Though you might wanna fire off an AoE if you’ve got one. It’s just that easy.
One long, major battle and half of my huge inventory is full.
I knew they were fixing the XP-but-no-loot problem, but holy crap, even in a huge zerg 2-3 hits on an enemy is enough to qualify for loot now.
In big zerg-on-zerg fights (especially ones that you win), ranged AoE has netted me dozens of loot bags without even trying.
Thank you based Anet. WvW’s point has never been profit and remains so, but I for one like those random rare loots and treb BPs. This really stands out as one of the biggest improvements for this patch, to me anyway.
(edited by Scumbag Mawile.6384)
If it was faster than 60 mins, maybe more like 20 (60 is too slow, lets it strafe towers for way too long), didn’t have much in way of siege capabilities and was mostly good for hitting zerg if it was in the right place at the right time, it could work.
Then again it’d probably cost gold and for something so haphazard and unreliable nobody would bother get it. Well, unless they were feeling silly.
