I’d hardly care if they were given equal treatment. Some armor sets would just look impractical and stupid for anyone wearing them.
But nope, full leather armor, pants and long skirt-thing for male, skintight pants and boob cups for female. Sound thinking.
Sword/dagger’s dodges + Greatsword’s auto attack evade and block can be used very nicely together, even more so for their leaping combos through a Healing Spring.
That being said, you won’t kill anyone quickly as a Ranger.
That’s actually really covered up by mmo standards. Heck it even is by real life standards, I’ve seen girls with less clothes than that.
Now if that’s what you are actually complaining about that we need less clothes then I agreeThat’s saying something about MMOs in general, not that GW2 is better for it.
Real life standards suck. Why don’t we get searched and list items acquired before going through every Asura gate, eh? True to life, woo!
If you can’t keep your kitten in your pants and out of your head, go watch some prons. The sturdiest armor in the game shouldn’t look like kittening hooker gear. Appealing to horny teenagers < not degrading yourselves and your game.
If people want skin, keep it to town clothes. Y’know, the ones you wear when you’re not out being mauled by undead, dragons and undead dragons.
Different people have different taste, in this game you can transmute your gear so wether it looks well protected or not doesnt matter.
And appeals to horny teenagers? Yes, but to adults too :P
(i know many that do, so you really cant argue with that)
DIFFERENT TASTEGame should have both sets, please both groups instead of just one.
Many people have a taste for both.
Okiedoke. Then you know who’s really missing out here? The poor male characters.
Devs, we demand justice! 50% of male armor needs to be shirtless and/or have a banana hammock. We deserve no less.
Really I think it’s the male version that got kitten here. Yet another long coat as if every other set didn’t already have a long coat. I want male leather chest piece that stops at the waste please! My Charr engi’s legs need to be seen, they are strong and powerful, why must they be shrouded in ugly bulk!
Yes do away with long coats for medium armor! >:( Long coats here, long coats there, long coats everwhere!
Trenchcoats are best clothing. Dat fanning-out on jumps/falls.
I’m all for more variety in the armor, so long as it isn’t this kitten.

For a game that claimed to be different from any other MMO, they sure didn’t do away with the concept of adding cleavage to reel in the lowbrow.
I shouldn’t have to dye armor the same color as my character’s skin or acquire fine transmutation stones because she’s going to war half-naked otherwise.
Funnily enough, Charr and Asura don’t suffer from this. Oh right, that’s because they can’t have big knockers.
Next thing you know it’ll be shorts and boots.
what amuses me is how people complain that sexy fantasy armour is not realistic…. but never complain that it isnt realistic that they can jump in the water in full plate and swim halfway across a zone…..
Not being able to swim due to armor proficiency is getting to the level of realistic where miniscule issues take a ton of work to fix, not to mention the complaints about it.
Making armor look like armor is definitely not extra difficult, nor does it tip any balance. Having armor be armor for all characters is a balance, and one that shouldn’t be kittened with to appeal to perverts.
If GW2 gets any more cleavage-armor than it already has, I quit.
Tera is kitten. The worst. absolutelydisgusting.png
There should be nothing exposed on the main body or upper arms/legs on anything called ‘armor’. It’s there to protect. Non-combat vanity items? Knock yourself out. kitten bouncing around in combat? No.
Aaand the rest of this post is now missing. Awh.

Finaly, someone who knows the situation. this is true, if i had to break it down to 24 hour time each day manpower would be USA time:
-1:30-12:30 – SF 500 (que full ect), ET and FC (100-200)
-12:30-7:00 – SF 5-10, ET 5-10 FC 15-20 <— befor you say “WTF THIS ISANT TRUE” it is FC has the highest nite crew in T8
-7:30-10:00 – SF like 0-5, ET 30-40, FC 0-10.
-10:00-1:30 is fairly even. SF still highest but very even.
500? Heh. I’ve only ever had to queue twice on SF, one at a weekly reset, one at a monthly, and only ever for EB.
It’s 166 max in EB. During those times, there was only ever one smaller force (15-40) in one borderlands and no doubt another dozen or so screwing around in the others.
We never come close to 500 on at once. It takes time for maps to flip green; with 500, we’d be running five zergs per map. I seldom see more than one zerg on a BL, and if there are, it’s more like a smaller zerg divided (e.g. 15 and 15).
I don’t accept that. Swords are in history and lore yet they are used. Also most other games manage the clipping issue so I don’t accept arena net cant do it
Charr dont like capes, they hinder 4 paw running…asuras calculated that capes add big % to fumble chance etc. So excepting it or not thats how things stand from lore point of view.
As for clipping, there are already some nasty clipping with some pieces so i can only imagine how bad capes clipping was. Oh yea btw, there was an idea to have capes durring developement but it was scraped for obvious reasons.
You have a source for this? Because it sounds like you’re making up ‘lore’, Mr. Spelling.
Pretty sure Charr wouldn’t like plush Quaggan backpacks, either. Trying to say clothing shouldn’t be in an MMO because the races wouldn’t naturally wear it is ridiculous, especially when we already have top hats, aviators, Gandalf’s hat, pirate outfits, weird dredge armor, etc.
Nearly double the combined score?
We keep this up, Ferg and ET might get to fight someone they have a shot at stomping.
LowestTruth is really making me want to create a character named Thuggin Mc Lyfe and devote an unhealthy amount of time to it ‘til I’m quite the skilled player with him/her.
I have seen too many XXDr33zzad D0 Urd3nsXX over the years to give a kitten. Usually I avoid to team with them individually, because there seems to be a tendency for them to either be wanna be elitist jerks who fail miserabely or really clueless, probably kids. Don´t care if they are in a group I join.
They get points just for trying to name it after the best Mary Sue.
ITT: Massive oversensitivity and discrimination over something as meaningless as a name.
I prefer silly names to the fortieth necro named something along the lines of Morphis the Insane, Sylvari named something with plants in it, etc. Do I block people with those names, even if they’re cringe-worthy? Nope. That’s equal to writing someone off as worthless because they have a cat named Fluffy.
My next character’s name? Based Quag. Sorry to say, dears, but RP is for RP servers, and people may name their characters whatever the hell they want. Being an insufferable little snob and snubbing strangers because of their character name just marks you as an unpleasant person I don’t want to associate with.
Except in this case, there’s a reason not to like you.
It only irritates me on “official” RP servers in various games. If it’s not an RP server, it’s more of a “look at that idiot!” and move on type of thing. My kids are well-trained though; they will announce stupid names they find so we can all have a good eyeroll.
It’s all about impatience; they want to play, they don’t want to see “name already in use” over and over and over again. It’s worse when there’s no name generator.
I will admit to having name prejudice, though. I just won’t waste my time with someone stupidly named. I’m sure I miss out on some nice but challenged folks through that.
I’ve had characters in other MMOs named Sammich, Icybeer, Gnomefoot…
Hell, my Thief’s named Scumbag Mawile.
Guess I’m degenerate filth, an idiot at best.
You know what bothers me more than silly names? Pointless elitism.
I found a big ol’ Norn named a variation of ‘The Incredible Hulk’.
Not my pic, but I think it’s him.
Casuals are also usually a lot more tolerable than keyboard warrior elitist game-is-my-lifes.
Well, unless you’re a keyboard warrior elitist game-is-my-life.
I don’t think many of you realize how bad it is in FC. People do not want to WvW because of the mass zergs they face. Often there are fewer than 5 people in WvW. People have simply lost interest in getting pounded week after week with no hope of anything ever changing. It’s understandably demoralizing and as a result we often CANNOT form a group of even 10 which makes taking anything extremely difficult. Many people on FC won’t play WvW because it is pointless. The boons arenanet gives us for being overwhelmingly outnumbered are useless to us. As I have said before, I see everyone transfering to 1 of 3 servers eventually.
And when you do show up en masse, it’s about 50 strong and completely naked.
Holy loot bags Batman!
Not so keen on ‘win X so many times’, but I’d definitely find it impressive if Legendaries had some sort of challenge attached to them. Maybe an exhausting 3-hour (if perfectly done, of course) jumping puzzle to reach the top of a mountain/structure for the key component to some air-based legendary weapon, or completing every temple in a certain order with a special (suicide-inducingly hard) twist in the same day, or commanding a force to capture SM castle and every garrison and holding them all simultaneously.
Notice how painful to read that is?
It’s because they’d be an outstanding feat to accomplish. One may even call them legendary.
They were all fed chili peppers and shoved into the walls of the Ascalonian Catacombs to ward off pesky dungeoneers.
I’ve gone from using BL kits (ran out) to Mystic, and there is a definite drop in Ectos. With BLSK (a good 6 of them total), I could count on both hands how many times I didn’t get get an Ecto.
Now it’s more like a 20% chance I get nothing. I’ve only gotten three ectos twice in about 50 rares. I should probably save my rares for when I get another BLSK. Probably barely breaking even using a Mystic that cost a pretty penny to make in the first place.
Making people noodleneutered enough to post threads like these is enough incentive for me to gank enemies in puzzles.
If anyone here is quitting the game, send me your stuff and I’ll rewrite a song commemorating your act of kindness.
Just sayin’, mango.
I like ‘PvP happened in a PvP zone’, myself.
Because they’re not stacks. You don’t have 50 axes. You have an ax that wears down and is useless when you get that number of uses. You can’t stack weapon axes. You can’t stack the axe you’re using to harvest, because it’s 1 axe, that you eventually where down.
Are you arguing real-life logic in a game that lets you bank resources from anywhere in the world and has individual resource nodes?
One of the reasons I originally enjoyed GW2 was for those little touches where the game didn’t fight you for no reason, didn’t create challenge for unentertaining management, let you have fun. I don’t get that feeling so much now that I’ve struggled with a lot of the UI, but this one’s a no-brainer; gathering tools should be able to be combined to their maximum usage (e.g. two mithril mining picks, 57 and 62. You can drag one on top of the other for a 100-use pick and a 19-use pick).
Sarcasm, sweetie.
Now as there is no constructiveness to this exchange I’m going to stop replying to you before a mod comes along and locks this.
No, I mentioned SM because I like to watch videos of it.
So preset snowfall is worst than dozens/hundreds of unique character models running around spamming animations and visual effects?
Man, I never realized how bulky automated raindrops were.
Nice pointless, unfounded sarcastic remark there.
Many games have. Or are you going to go off on a spiel about how inferior GW2 is?
@ThiBash; Exactly. Makes me wish there was a part involving the forest that you couldn’t just run through.
Yeah, I’m quite fond of those skies. Orr’s, too.
If the effects would carry down to ground level, though… kitten I’d be even more enthralled with the sights than I already am.
Can we have a passive ‘Buddy in my Pocket’ boon that “inspires” the Ranger with a stat boost to help compensate for the missing DPS?
Or a parrot. I already love Pirate gear, but with a tropical bird on your shoulder… I’d name it Jacques every time.
GW2’s world is brilliant as it is, but one thing that would make it kitten near perfect in my eyes: more environmental effects.
Now I don’t know about you, but I love watching a good downpour or blizzard. I’m sure people would moan about reduced visibility, especially in PvP (despite it being a universal handicap for everyone experiencing the storm), but there’d just be something magical about defending SM in near-blinding snowfall while the torches sputter in its inner halls, or running around firing at Tequatl as lightning flashes and it rains buckets. It’d be another big step in making GW2 come to life, in my opinion.
I know of some amazing environment/weather-related mods that have been produced by individuals or tiny teams. Doesn’t seem like an impossible task.
Still probably not something that would be incorporated into the game, but one can daydream.
Is it SF appreciation day or something?
Why’s FC charging from their spawn naked? You’ve gotten me 50 badges in 15 mins. ;v;
I already roll my eyes at big, muscly humans being listed as a separate race.
Racial option for expansions (and makeover kits for old characters), maybe.
First, it’d be a (much needed) karma sink. Everyone has an overabundance of karma with nothing to really expend it with. (Especially since they keep introducing new Ascended gear with new currencies.)
No, EVERYONE does NOT have a overabundance of karma. Maybe YOU do, but you dont speak for everyone else. How about players that are building up karma for upgrading to the level 80 karma gear? Or those who’re building up karma for their legendary weap after completing 100% world exploration? Your suggestion would make it that much harder for folks like that to build up the karma to get that gear.
I haven’t even played that much and if I were to drink all the Karma I had, I’d have around 2mil.
That’s after blowing half a mil for clovers and generally wasting it freely.
Karma is ridiculously easy to get. The vast majority of people do not need karma/would not need to grind to get it. In one evening of WvW my Thief had an extra 60,000 more Karma. Methinks someone needs to stop trying to speak for everyone saying they need Karma just because you have mysterious trouble getting it.

Or an actual permanent discount on WP costs for JP achievements instead of -20% on waypoints for 24 hours for what, 2k influence?…
Saboteurs aren’t stunlock, m16. It’s a simple knockback and burn, something you have ample time to walk out of our dodge through.
They’re really the easiest enemy in the game. All you have to do is kite them or melee with a roll/skirt out of range every few seconds, the barrels are their only attack. Or just get launched, it hardly does any damage.
I like the Dredge and never have any problem with them on any character. No idea what people find so horrible about them.
The rest of that seems about right (especially Krait, even though I’d absolutely love to play one). Just tack on Griffins. That stupid 7-second fly-back-evade and knockdown swoop… Ugh.
Christopher Walken.
why do i laugh through all of that every time
i doubt any of this is true /thread
Doh… I fed the troll. Should have known better.
Also, I was sarcastically listing off all the ways to get Exotic gear to underscore how easy it is compared to Ascended.
I can get Ascended via coin, karma, crafting, badges, tokens and random drops now?
And they have it for more than trinkets?
Wow, this sure was a stealthy patch. Last I knew there were only bangles and backpieces which were a royal pain in the babycat to get.
Think there was an Asura. Three Guardians and a Mesmer of larger races, for sure.
Loot bags are OP and need to be nerfed.
They do massive damage to my emotions. It just ain’t fair.
Call.
you filthy lootkitten
what we had was LOVE
15k hp? please stop having bad stats
So not having Vitality gear means you have bad stats?
You must be a world champion duelist.
Him?
It goes female Sylvari > female Asura > male Sylvari > male Charr > the rest, for me (in general, not for Engineers).

Actually, those not-so-jolly campers were PK.
Were you one of the ones running up your armor bill last night?
And so begins the regreening as SF’s skeleton crew turns in and the rest start waking up ‘til primetime’s (hopefully) multiple-commander action.
Had some fun in the early AM killing ET who were camping and baiting at SF BL’s Bluevale Workshop. They actually came back and got wiped five times with no change in the forces of either side (5v5). Learning the hard way, I guess.
