Mobs in living story instances give no loot. Mobs in new LS-related content, like the Silverwastes events, give no loot. Mobs that spawn during new world boss events give no loot. These make up a significant amount of your average player’s PvE, and all the mobs you kill during that playtime don’t drop loot. I love finding my bags full because I’ve killed so many things, but now that only happens in the now-rare Orr temple events, the Modnir pre-event centaur defense and (ironically, given the relative lack of rewards in WvW) on a good night of zerg-wiping in WvW.
I like magic find. I’m not the only person who likes magic find. You see magic find banners all over the place, and people thanking those who dropped them. Minus a few conspiracy theorists, everyone loves magic find. Magic find only affects monster loot drops. The monsters people kill the most aren’t dropping loot anymore. See the problem?
I understand that event mob loot was removed to prevent people from disrupting an event to farm loot, but there are better ways to handle this than just stripping monster loot altogether. For an event with potentially limitless mob spawns, only have the first X number of waves drop loot, a minimum amount of monsters that your average bunch of players would have cleared anyway in the event’s progress, then have subsequent spawns drop no loot to curb exploitation. Make champions lootless so people don’t focus them to the detriment of the event, but let the elites and everything beneath them that people kill incidentally keep dropping loot.
Bottom-right-corner shaking chests and big boss chests are great and all, but I busted my fingers harvesting luck for better loot from good ol’ mob-killing, so I’d appreciate it if HoT’s big events gave me mobs to kill that carry loot.
So gold requires only basic organization and with the rewards buff is actually worth your while if you completely ignore the start-up price.
Still pretty bad with that 10g fee and definitely not better than a farm like we formerly enjoyed and wanted back, but I did go back with my m8ies and was entertained for an hour.
our reward for that long, boring, lootless dredge of hitting one and particle effects
someone in map thought you get ten champ chests for gold completion, aka teq/wurm-level coordination for a tiny, generic reward
i see, so you get that for each event? how valuable are the festival tokens
No, that was what we got for the whole six-legendary-boss event that took 45 minutes with a full map.

(edited by Scumbag Mawile.6384)
1) no more loot from mobs (not even the little chest in each pit)
2) no loot from the souped-up legendary bosses (after spending money to trigger them)
3) more open world raid
4) not just more open world raid, but SIX of them for the one reward that will no doubt not be worth the hour we put in (just finished 2/6 and it’s been over fifteen minutes with a huge blob of people, and the bosses only get beefier)
5) the longer it takes, the worse that sad reward will get
Anet has reached perfection in understanding what we want: no loot, open world raids, autoattack-festing trillion-HP bosses and bad rewards. GG.
I’m not sure how this could be worse, but I’m gonna do this once and go give Liadri a hug.

You can quite easily blow through luck while /making/ money off those blues and greens you’re salvaging. It’s called using the TP.
While expanded bonuses are the ideal, I’d be fine if they just gave luck a vendor value. One copper per luck sounds about right. +10c to 2s per salvaged green, 5g for a stack of exo luck.
And definitely not something to make world ranks out of, mind. That’d be like MF armor all over again. Maybe a scaling MF bonus in WvW based on rank? (+1% per 10 rank, maybe)? Oooh, I like that idea. Rewards the core players.
Make a Scavanger Mastery? Increase your Magic Find when looting players…
Yes, but then you’d have pugs running around saving their points for scavenger mastery instead of carrying extra supply or getting stacks off of guards. No bueno.
Maybe each level of rank (Invader = 1, Assaulter = 2, etc.) could award a point you could invest as a permanent +3% boost that applies while in WvW, either to MF, XP or Karma. Would probably want to cap it at maybe 150% or so (which would mean you’d need to be rank 1695 before you could have 150% in one bonus).
Where mastery is applying our warfare experience into expertise, a rank-based personal reward bonus could be our increasing wages as we’re promoted in rank through the Mist War =P

Straegen: Many lv80 mobs drop heavy bags. It’s far from exclusive to WvW. I can go run through the Grawl chasm in five minutes and get the same quality of loot from 40 Grawl (including their heavy trinket bags) as I would in a climax raid night battle where I tagged 40 players (and no doubt some of those would be uplevels with inferior loot).
Calaway: I never suggested champ loot from stomps, that’d be ridiculous. It was just a supporting comparison of how many players are harder/take longer to beat than any champion but give regular mob loot. Nothing to dwell on.
Obviously you can’t equate loot quality by player skill, and the occasional zerg wipefests mean they couldn’t bump it up too much, but a blanket +50%-100% increase in drops would still have WvW much less profitable than any PvE farm, but still a lot brighter for WvWers.

Took a quick glance and didn’t see anything, but is there any mention of what the drops are like for killing a player?
The odd lopsided farming spree aside, human players are generally much less consistently killed than mobs can be, and you sure as hell don’t get a champ box for stomping the tricky ones. You might even say player kills should merit higher rewards just for the significance of having beaten another player character versus some bad AI monster spawned to be killed.
I haven’t ever noticed a difference in quality of loot for player kills over any mob that drops bags. While WvW rewards have come a long way since launch (kill credit bug fix + expanded badge vendors + rank-up chests), they’ve been boosted from abysmal to sub-par; between upgrades and siege, the more responsible players still spend much more for the benefit of all than they’ll ever make.
I sure wouldn’t mind even +50% loot quality for player kills to add a little more much-needed bueno to the only game mode that can hold my attention.
tl;dr i’m greedy and jealous of the PvEers’ shekels, give us more shinies for smacking up reds
This has no doubt been reported into the ground without response, but when two of my three visits to the MFF since picking up the game again have resulted in 30mins+ wasted to the same simple bug…
Everyone runs in to the weapons test area. Rox, Braham and Frostbite follow. Nothing happens. Mass-suicide and try again. Still zip. GG no re. Why this?
you’re right
it needs to blind all players in sight, too, no matter how their camera’s scrolled
fix this or i quit 5ever, anet
Its specifically limited to 1, so I’m pretty sure its intended. If it were a bug there wouldn’t be a limit.
Definitely out of the blue and for seemingly no reason, though. And not even promoted on the website or the Gem Store front page.

Big flaw in your grammar targeting in situations where perfectly legitimate responses exist.
calm your kitten, hun, i didn’t write that with my blood boiling for some intense internet slapfighting
if you can correct an error by adding to it is irrelevant to it being an error
If you’re a whiny kitten, it’s probably because you’re a whiny kitten.
If you’re being nice about it and you come across as advising rather than demanding, it’s probably because GW2 is a very casual game and the majority of players don’t know what most of their moves do, which compounds the average stupidity/kittenbaggery of your typical human being/player.
There was recently a post about someone who did nothing but map completion while avoiding any unnecessary xp (including not killing if possible for hearts) to see if they could avoid hitting 80 with map completion. I think they ended up at 60-something.
That’s all of Orr finished at <60-something with bad gear.
Pretty sure this problem isn’t the game’s fault.
Plus, y’know, I’ve done full map completion on two characters and my only annoyance was how long it takes due to the sheer scale.
Pretty happy with the lil warrior I just got to 80 and geared/cosmeticked up.

surely that more than makes up for taking >15 minutes to rejoin your forces from spawn, at which point they’ve probably hit a rock and crumbled due to the near impossibility of reinforcements
Heavily camped?
I swaggered on up as the second-squishiest thing in the game, picked up my golem piece and waypointed back to spawn, all while our corner was getting royally stomped
still no official response?
bump badump
the only time i don’t see people rolling swamp is in 10-19s, and they still roll swamp 60% of the time
kitten, guzzi, your mother and i told you not to wear your tinfoil hat out in the sun
A thousand? Try ten thousand. Put a grain of prestige behind it.
Daily Teq is 13k in jugs, minus all the other rewards.
Frackling ten levels below your personal reward level will get you ~10k karma per run, and every 15 fractal relics is another obsidian shard.
If your server stomps in WvW then it’s also an option, but fractals are by far the highway to obsidians.
thief (main) – dual axes or hammer
necro – greatsword
guardian – pistol for lols or longbow maybe, something ranged
mesmer – moar hammer
ele – moar greatsword
warrior – daggers would be neat
engineer – hammer yet again
ranger – rifle because why was it not already available to them
and a massive +1 for polearms, Quag bless ’em
oh, the potential of a ranged melee weapon…
what are you going to do to make people want to stay on the low population servers?
“This doesn’t appear to be common knowledge, so in case you missed it: the WvW version of Edge of the Mists is not against the servers you’ve been matched with this week, but against all servers in the region. You keep the same colour between the Mist War and the Edge of the Mists; as a result, every blue server is on the same Edge of the Mists team.”
A place to find a fair fight even in those weeks when the match-up’s so imbalanced, your underpopulated server’s being flat-out farmed.
Yep, this sure doesn’t help low pop players at all.
There’s a reason the karka, hatchlings and reef drake are 300g while the reef rider’s 1g.
They’ve been unavailable for ages.
there already is fractal armor
it’s called armageddon
(but seriously, i’m all for any new armor skins and i enjoy muh frackles so why not)
hammer thief
greatsword necro
rifle ranger
longbow ele
dual shield engi
just imagine the balancing hilarity
i thought it was just one huge art team that dabbled in programming…?
With an armor switch like the weapon switch, please.
Another thread’s poll, currently standing at 110 people surveyed and 73% against the new pik: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/POLL-Do-you-like-the-new-Watchwork-Pick/first#post3568313
Last one broke 500 replies and neared 10k views.
Hopefully we don’t have to do the same here before we get a dev response.
76% don’t like it?
Wake up, America Tyria.
They ruined the tools I paid for previously, so I hate the new ones.
Unless they give the old tools a bonus of some kind as well.
Pretty much this.
Since this new pik is 200 gems more, they could even offer a 200 gem upgrade option to let old infinite gathering tools proc additional mats, too.
Can we get a solid last day date for when the marionette and its reward chests will be available? I’ve been doing it a few times per day and have quite the hoard of cyphers piling up. Wanted to do a little finale of opening when the marionette’s about to go, I know I can’t be the only one. But I’d really rather not lose out on the loot for waiting too long like I did my poor bb sclerite skin token.
because all the devs play is WvW rangers
anet really needs to quit buffing them and give some love to those poor ol’ underdog warriors that’ve been left in buggy mediocrity since launch
The first infinite tools cost 800, and got a free conversion to acct bound.
And yes, the best solution would be to offer an upgrade fee of 200 gems. This counts for any items that they release, then offer an upgraded one, IE salvage bot from basic to fine.
Best proposed solution IMO.
Even more gems for Anet and equality is restored.
Turn 25 of each Cypher into a “Key”, grind the “Thumper” machines scattered around the world (you loot the destroyed Thumper) and get 50 power core parts to make one power core. Go to the back of the Worm cave under the Durmand Priory and go to the right, there’s a fake wall to walk through to get into her lair.
Be advised that the power core has one use, if you have lots of the keys for the chests make sure you have a decent amount of inventory space; I came out of there with a lot of loot.
It’s the code fragments that go 25 → cypher, and as above stated, you only need the one power core (though access is character-bound per core).
All chests will give you at least a rare, some greens and: salvageable scraps (watchwork, aetherblade, molten), pristine spores (toxic) or another spare key pouch (Scarlet’s personal). Scarlet’s chest also has a chance of giving you the Zealot’s/Keeper’s recipes and the watchwork moa mini. All non-Scarlet chests give 5-8 code fragments as well, most of which are for Scarlet’s chest, if memory serves.
Sounds like you need Life Alert®, OP
Maybe it’ll become available on the gem store?
Can’t we all just pretend it was a dream?
Zhaitan’s absolute impotency, Trahearne, Elder Dragon Begone!â„¢ laz0rz…
A silly, loopy little dream. Hell, Anet doesn’t seem to remember it, either. Maybe it was?
Hot Quag this is nasty. Only way to go now is to provide additional procs for all past and future unlimited gathering tools. Will continue bumping this thread until there’s a response.
No, but it’s something that happens for ~1s every time it’s a daily and I’ve stopped by the TP.
Next thing you know people’ll be complaining about the laurel vendor daily.
I want Scarlet to fly up to me and bring me my mail.
tiny jetpack scarlet bussin’ my kitten?
10/10 would get
A few times. Much less than in main, but you can tell if an OF has a chance by how much organizing’s going on in map (and, of course, by the numbers).

They are, I read them.
Lack of players communicating to other players. “GO read Dulfy or GTFO” isn’t nice compared to “Marrionette Mechanics on Dulfy.net. check it out for success”
eh, people kept asking in map and no one was answering so i told them the wiki and dulfy would have the best answers they could get
still got lynch mobbed for it

I was agreeing with your post until about the halfway mark where you started calling everything bad. If everything was bad, no one would be playing.
As far as updates go, the main suffering point (imo) is the massive focus on temporary content over adding permanent content and, most of all, improving what already was. It’s especially incomprehensible because keeping LS content wouldn’t even disrupt the boost in gem purchases they get from every new LS theme release. Such a waste of good content (and, for the most part, it has been good content).
Here’s hoping the amount of temporary and permanent content we’re getting with LS updates switches places. Lore is important, but if Aetherpath stayed, why couldn’t the MAF (by far the most popular of the new dungeons)? Why not the Queen’s jubilee? My little bb Liadri feels special, sure, but no reason you couldn’t have kept it. Hell, you could’ve kept it and added the occasional contender from new LS updates! I’m sure the various alliances, with all of their trademark mechanics, could’ve provided a ton of easily-implemented solo bosses that would offer something up for the many PvEers seeking a challenge (with some achievements along with them, of course).
I wouldn’t say the game is dying/hopeless, but they do need to make some changes to keep people in it and keep people coming.
report taimi for griefing
