Everytime we have to look for a party the messages are jumping around like crazy and it never stops. It hurts my eyes and i seriously get headache from it. I can barely see what it says either because of all that jumping back and fourth so kinda hard sometimes to join a group.

Its been like this for 2 weeks soon, pls fix. Its driving me crazy.

I’m curious as to what the proper method is to report somebody who is harassing people in-game? What do you report them as? It seems there is no option for that. Our guild has encountered a challenge with someone who constantly follows, harasses, and even has threatened people and we do not know how to proceed.

Any help on how to handle the proper reporting of this person’s account would be greatly appreciated.

You tell everyone to right click his name and then click ’’block’’. That’s why it’s there for.

My block list however, is entirely empty. There is nothing that can get under my skin, because I’m just that awesome.

I think the reporting function is meant more for people who scam others and for people who bot because things like that actually hurt the economy of the game.

So, the last Windows update I had messed up the brightness, forcing me to use a different updater system (Samsung’s SW Update) to patch it out…but something in either of those two updates apparently messed with GW2 a bit.

Now, the FPS will drop sometimes, the client (and anything else that might be up) can freeze almost completely, things that I could do in the past without much stress (like having Firefox open for the wiki or listening to something, or readjusting the screen) can cause the game client to start slowing down/freeze up for several seconds…Seriously, I feel like it ran better on my older laptop with Windows 7…graphics card being the exception.

Anyone else had issues like this?

No. I still have a 32bit version of Windows XP that I installed in 2009. I’ve had the same installation for 5 years, my friend. Not 1 single error or blue screen crash or any issues with it what so ever.

Is anyone running GW2 on windows 10 technical preview? It was working fine for me but after a windows update recently all of a sudden now the game crashes (“serious error”) every time I try to launch it…it won’t even make it to the character select screen. Just wondering if this is happening for anyone else? I’m guessing it’s a Windows 10 issue.

Hi I’m having a slight problem and thought maybe someone could help me:

I recently decided to start playing Guild Wars 2 again. Now my Problem is that I can play the game for about 30-60 min and then my Laptop just turns itself off, no bluescreen nothing it just shuts itself down.

Intel Core i7-4700MQ CPU@ 2.4 GHz
16GB RAM

I have an Onbaord Intel HD Graphics 4600 and an AMD Radeon R7 M265 second Graphic Card

OS is Windows 8.1

Now I played the game fine about 7 Months ago without it crashing it has seriously just started doing this!

I can play other games like Battlefield, Titanfall, The Evil Within and Skyrim and other MMO’s on pretty good settings (Medium to High) and they don’t make my Laptop shut down!

Could it seriously be that Guild Wars 2 makes my PC overheat to such an extent while games that theoretically require more e.g. Battlefield 4 don’t? Or could the Problem have another source? Has anyone else had a problem like this or similar? Would be happy to get a bit of feedback on how to solve this!

I don’t know about laptops, but if it was a desktop…I’d say it’s a busted Power Supply Unit. I had that happen to me and It was because the PSU tranzistors were damaged and the computer kept shutting itself off and turning itself on, or restarting by it’s own. It happened once a day. New PSU fixed that though. But it was a desktop PC. I never had a laptop cause, well, they seem useless to me compared to a desktop PC which is my primary entertainment station and gives more bang for buck.

Here are some instructions on getting the log file to us:

1. Make sure you’ve created a shortcut to your Gw2.exe client.
2. Open the shortcut properties (by right-clicking the icon and selecting ‘Properties’)
3. In the target line, type -log so that your target looks something like this: C:\Games\Gw2\gw2.exe -log
4. Hit ‘Ok,’ then run the client. Since you are blocked when trying to download the last files, let the client run for about ten minutes, then close the client.
5. Open your preferred e-mail program and start an e-mail to Support@GuildWars2.com with the subject line “Patch download stuck at 0 kbps”
6. Now, in your prepared e-mail, click “Attach file” and type “%APPDATA%\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.log" and your e-mail program should find the file and attach it to your mail.
7. Send the email to us

To send us the diag file:

Replace -log with -diag in the above steps. When you’ve run that process, a UI window will pop up while the diagnostics are running. And the end of the run, you can open it up by clicking “View Results” and then cut-and-paste the diagnostic log in an email directly. It isn’t too big so you can cut it straight into the e-mail or make a text file, if you prefer, and attach it with the log file.

Restore your shortcut:

Remember to remove either the -log or -diag parameter from the shortcut by right-clicking on the shortcut icon and selecting ‘Properties’.

Ok but what if this happens (In the picture). I get this error since 12 hours ago. I got abruptly disconnected in sPvP and then my client tried to reboot itself and that happens. I don’t think doing the log analystics statistics stuff will help, if it’s stuck before it even gets to the patch downloading. I have to use ctrl+alt+del to close GW2.exe, because clicking on the X mark doesn’t even work. And the task manager says it’s running, it’s not unresponsive.

Did a server get knocked down by an old tree that was overweighed with heavy snow somewhere and now some of us can’t connect? (this actually happens frequently where I live, lots of big trees around and if there’s heavy snow, they always crack and fall)

Btw I sent a ticket to support, but still no answer, I guess you guys are overcrowded with these same reports at the moment.

PS: In the 2 years I been playing, never had this problem before. Ever.

Wow, so many people with this very same issue. I thought I got hacked and someone somehow messed with my client installation on my computer, remotely. It happened to me 12 hours ago. I got disconnected and then my client closed, it happened super fast, and then when it tried to restart itself it couldn’t.

Well, at least I’m not the only one. But I don’t want to add that line that’s listed as a solution on reddit. I mean, what if opens up a port for hackers, or even worse… the NSA. Lol that was a joke. The NSA are the good guys. But what if it’s North Korea trying to hack American servers because of The Interview? They hacked Sony. Wouldn’t be surprised they hacked Arena too. Or just anything remotely American.

And then there’s that question, how did that guy on Reddit figure out what the solution is? What if he’s a hacker? What if it’s a trap and you actually make your computer more vulnerable?

We already knew that GW2 could not fulfill the expectations in China in regard to player numbers. KongZhong performed now several server merges in one of the three districts. In last consequence they removed one entire district with nine Servers. Now there are 24 servers left. This will help the WvW over there, that is more unbalanced than EU/NA.

Hi, so i was playing edge of the mists today and i noticed something critical and immersion breaking that should be fixed right away. I am so disappointed to find something like this in the game, because really it totally destroyed my immersion. At one point i felt like i was in the game, like i was my character, but then i saw this and was reminded this is just a game…….

As you can clearly see, in this first picture there is a green glass window on the airships door in edge of the mists, but on the other picture i look behind the door and the space is empty…. Please Arenenet, this has to be your top priority for next patch, its 100% immersion breaking and needs to be fixed immediately. The green glass should be showed on the back of the door aswell. I hope for a reply soon.

This can be just a little thing for most of the ppl, but as a loyal player ever since the betas, I found extremely unrespectful the roll out on who get the 1st daily log-in reward based on last time logged in.

I’ve logged yesterday at 16:30 Pm, No I haven’t made dailies. Still, now I’ll receive my first log-in reward one day delayed, so basically I can’t achieve the daily laurel from before the patch, and neither I get my first log in reward as just patched.

As I said, it is just a little thing, and most won’t bother, but for me (That chase dailyes every day, and try to get the most of the game) found it pretty unrespectful with me and the othe rones that got the log-in delayed by one day.

•A new Daily Completionist achievement has been added and is earned by completing any combination of daily achievements from the three categories.
•Completing the Daily Completionist achievement rewards players with 10 achievement points.

The vast majority of your player base is PVE only. A lot of this player base want to be able to get achievement points the way they want to. Not the way YOU want them to.

Trying to coerces the vast majority of your player base into game styles they utmostly despise is a VERY BAD idea.

If you do not change that, I predict you will loose a good chunk of your PVE player base.

In the meantime, the crash can be avoided if you do not hover your mouse cursor over the item link that appears after selecting and accepting the rune (see screenshot). I get disconnected out of bell choir twice a game, and at the end of the game I get disconnected again and have to restart my client.

Only attemptable near the end of the instance. No Reset/Retry motes like the ones in Glint’s lair if you slip up. And while the wind walls are simple (unless you’re in Challenge Mode), the sand pools can be spawned from the boss and the elementals when they die, have no red circles indicating when they’re about to spawn, and linger on the map making things harder to avoid as the fight goes on.

This has to be one of the most frustrating ones yet, and having to redo the instance up to that point for every slip up is such a waste.

Oh…and just 3 Bandit Chest keys as a reward is lousy for the effort it takes. All I really want now is that Wynn’s Locket, yet you apparently thought us having to go through all those annoying achievements was necessary. It’s not fun.

I’ve had no issue or problem with this achievement. do it in a group and run in a circle, you don’t even have to dodge. hope that helped. good luck o7

Lots of people wants to have them ingame. And i have an idea how to implement it without hurting the game. They should be an x second cast item that, when mounted, gives perma swiftness and maybe some dash on “dodge”. So mounts wouldnt give some extra super speed but gives you some easy acess for swiftness. Beside ofc looking good.

I wanted to get this idea out there before Anet shuts down for Wintersday and we end up with another one to two months of no updates and only Wintersday activities to provide the only form of entertainment during the holidays. When in fact you will notice that this is the time that a lot of people have the most time during the year to actually have weeks off from work and school to play.

This year while you are away Anet!!!! How about you turn on all the old SAB instances and let us have this as well as all the old Wintersday activities. Make some new Wintersday themed skins for Moto to trade for during this time.

Also maybe allow for people a way to acquire older achievements that they missed out on from SAB.
You could bring back the Infinte Continue Coin to sell on the BLgem store with a new addition in its description “allows player and his team to access SAB once per week” at any other time during the year. I understand that you want the skins to be rare so turn off Moto’s trade system when using the ICC to access SAB in this way.

So how about it Anet? I am sure we can prove that we want this, by everyone adding a +1 to this and comment on how much you want this. So everyone SHOW some Support and make em see we want this!!!

…all the bad players don’t play anymore? And I don’t mean unskilled or inexperienced, I mean like bad people. Unpleasant. Rude. Aggressive. Mean. Hateful. I feel like the community has cleaned itself out. It’s been 2-4 months since I encountered rude or mean or just generally stinky people that used to play GW2 that made the experience unpleasant. I feel like for the past 2 to 4 months, only the nice people still play and the community feels a lot like GW1. Warm and fuzzy ^3^

Anyone else noticed this? When’s the last time you encountered someone who was really hostile or aggressive or negative or just a plain old meanie? I think they all either quit or got banned.

By not letting us do anything other than AFK in the mists while waiting for a queue to pop, you’ve essentially gutted the concurrent PvP population by a significant portion.

There are many people that previously enjoyed doing PvE, WvW, or even hotjoins/dueling servers while waiting for queue to pops. Now we can do none of these things. It is 100% shortsighted and only hurting your competitive game model.

Even with an increased number of vote kicks as a solution to having just two people control the group there are times when people will rage at one misstep and an entire group of randoms will still side with said person and agree on a kick.

It’s become near impossible to play a thief for me because of this. Everyone expects perfection in stealth’s during dungeon runs and when someone else messes up the blame in solely on me.

How am I supposed to even play this game when I am afraid of being kicked every single dungeon run?

Instance owners or party leaders provides that safety net and having an opt in option to activate instance ownership would keep the current system as the majority to combat the old problem of disconnects.

This is easy to solve. Just you be the one that always enters the dungeon. That way if they kick you, they all get kicked too, so they basically kicked themselves when they kicked you.

Or just play with your tight ring of friends.

I think it’s great that way. I remember when they were every 2 weeks and I felt everything I did was rushed and I couldn’t keep up. In my opinion they perfected the timing of releases now with ample time to chill, relax and do other stuff too.

Don’t get me wrong, when I first started playing the game back in April, I thought it was great. I’ve never played an MMO before and it was a unique experience; having 100s of 1000s of other players play in the same world as you made the game feel more alive, and having them help you, instead of relying on dumb AI partners, made the game so much easier to play and enjoy.

Its also great how extensive the RPG element is, from selecting your profession, weapons and skills to how your character looks via costumes and colours; giving you countless of hours of experimenting until you find your very own custom, unique character that matches your play style.

I also found it great how full the world felt; rather than just running through a big world full of empty fields, there was always something happening somewhere, and that’s in addition to new things added every so often.

I started playing the game every day, its even got to the point where I bought a gaming mouse for it.

I’ve been playing it for more than 2 years, every day since August 28th 2012. And I still love it today just as much as I did the day I started playing it. In my opinion you’re doing it wrong. If you would be playing it right, like me, it would still be just as fun as it was at launch. It is for me, I don’t know why it isn’t for you. Altough I will say this. I wish SAB 3 was released in April this year. I expected it and it never came. But everything else was awesome this year.

As much as I am enjoying the new living world storyline, I’m getting angrier and angrier at the length of the episodes – they’re getting shorter and shorter. I managed to finish this one in about 30 minutes of gameplay. No, I did not intentionally rush through. I read all the dialogue, listened to various NPC interactions and so on.

If this is what it’s going to be like, I’d prefer longer development times and less frequent episodes so we can actually get an episode that takes longer than half an hour to complete.

I have to say this round of scavenger hunt/jumping puzzle combo is some of the hardest content I have seen so far from a personal point of view. While most of it is fairly simple, about 5-6 are tough to acquire or spot with 2 of them being especially tough from a jumping perspective.

congratulations anet – finally proven that I am too old and too slow to play gw2. I usually make up for my bad reflexes and poor eyesight by being persistent and obstinate. However, after countless attempts and way too many hours of effort, I have been put in my place. I got close with the “dodgy crowd” but could never quite get over the hump, usually because of a pool at the boss’ feet, or dodging through a wind wall and directly into a pool. I hated to give up because I wanted the luminescent armor, but that’s just not to be. I dislike being a quitter, especially after 4 yrs of gw1 with a full h.o.m. and playing gw2 since launch, however I recognize that I no longer possess the skills required. Probably time to find a game more suited to my skills- solitaire maybe. I am raging with a bit of tongue in cheek here, but c’mon guys it’s just a game not a test.

you don’t even have to dodge, just do it with a party of 5 and run in a circle while they do all the work lol that’s how i did it
