Even Arah path 1-2 gives 3 gold and it takes way longer then arah dungeons.

First Skyhammer & now The Edge of the Mists – in both of those maps, you really Need Practical Stability to do well. Yet Anet (in its finite wisdom) has kept Necromancers from having Practical Stability. [Practical Stability being stability where you can also Heal, use Condition Removal, use Skills, etc.] Necros remain the ONLY profession in the entire game without Practical Stability (with the exception of the one cleanse, lich #5).
So, thank you Anet for making a whole map just to screw with Necros.

And, while I am on the Need for Stability – WHY are Necros the ONLY Profession with almost all of its interrupts being Fear??
Fear is not bad, Except for the fact that it is a CONDITION – the ONLY Interrupt that is a condition! And thus Fear is the ONLY interrupt that can be Cleansed/Gotten Rid of INSTANTLY! In fact, Fear is the ONLY Interrupt that can be ignored completely (not counting blocks) by some professions (e.g. Warrior with Shrug It Off [Tactics VII], Elementalist Diamond Skin, etc.).

What makes this fear problem worse is that NO Professions have a WORSE FEAR Duration than Necromancers!!! Most Necro Fears last ONE Second! Warriors can get a 3 Second Fear! And Thieves too!! Which is Ironic considering that the Thief fear is “stolen” from Necros – so WHY is the “stolen” skill 3x more powerful than the original?

Summary:

1) Necromancers are the Only Profession without Practical Stability.
2) Necromancers are the Only Profession forced to rely Heavily upon an easily cleansable/ignorable Condition [Fear] to Interrupt.
3) Necromancers have the worst fear of any profession.
4) Skyhammer & The Edge of the Mists are HELLISH locations for Necros as a result of these stated oppressions.

Can you please stop making Living story for BG? Just had another “awesome” in game experience where i was kicked into OF and we had only very few ppl on Marionette. Needless to say we failed due lack of players.

In perfect case you would need 25 ppl on each lane, that is 125 ppl on map. Not every server can even pull that.

I don’t even bother with wurm anymore. ABSOLUTELY POINTLESS.

I understand lack of development for pvp, i understand how long it takes to make changes in wvw since main focus is LS and pve. BUT WHY IN THE WORLD DO YOU DESIGN UPDATES FOR BLACKGATE???? I understand you guys have whole anet guild over there but we are not all playing there.

Hard content? Sure. But not for BG only please. Queen’s Jubilee was perfect example of how you can make LS hard and yet available for normal player that doesn’t necessary play on BG.

They should divide achievement points and challengered hard content into two groups.

I noticed some people like a challenge, and don’t care about achievements.

And other people, only like to do achievements, but don’t care about a challenge or hard to do content.

So why not… make REALLY really near-impossible content for all the people who like a challenge that rewards 0 achievements and has no achievements, but gives really worthwhile loot and then for the people who only like the sound of an achievement being completed, you create achievements that are easy-med difficulty and give lots of points.

How about that ? Isn’t that a good idea ?

Fellow Fort Aspenwooders… Why do we continue to fail so heavily at doing killing this Wurm? It’s sad to see a server that sits high on the population ranks, does fairly well in WvW, but yet can’t fill the map for the Wurm event.

There’s no one trying to organize things. We can barely do all 3 escort missions without a failure. It’s disheartening. It really makes a player like myself feel the need to join up with TTS or quest to a server that wants to accomplish this.

We shouldn’t be satisfied with trying to kill just ONE wurm head so that an achievement can be made. That’s very sad, honestly.

Rally the troops Fort Aspenwood! Let’s get some coordination and some Wurm kills. WE CAN DO IT!

Long story short, we killed the midnight wurm today on a overflow. So it makes us the first guild to kill it on a overflow yey \o/ Best part is, we still had 0:20 sec on timer left! Which is new world record!

I’d like to thank every single person who was there and also awesome commanders who organized everything – Kehxd, Chiiwii, Agentka, Warsheep, Iana Ledger, Nine Inch Nose.

Since the wurm was downed on desolation the mass of server hopers, glory hunters and success fans have transfered over/guesting. I have yet to be able to do get into either of the events sine (wurm, marrionette) on my home server and forever trapped in overflows.

Its ridiculous, the main reason i have an issue with this is that i actually paid 1000 gems 6 months ago to transfer onto deso in order to join a guild from the recruitment forum. A guild that is impossible to play this content with due to the influx of guesters etc. The system is what it is and guesters currently have the same “queue priority” as home server players. Whether people agree with this or not is not the point, anet and many players have stated on here several times that this content was geared towards organized group content which on an overflow is very hard to impossible at times.

Now i dont really care what server i play on, what i do care about is paying for it again. I am in agreement that players should be able to transfer and play where they want, even guest with friends which is why i am requesting free transfers. Possibly allowing one free transfer might help to balance population which could see improvements in these events but also WvW match ups.

I am not alone in thinking this, alot of people on desolation are sick of guests filling up lions arch with rage and hate that we can’t insta face roll the wurm for them on request for their achievements etc.

P.S possibly think about renaming Lions Arch on desolation to Londons Arch because thats how bad its getting Cmon, let us flock to spain

I think the new Wurm fight proves and indeed begs that Anet can and should develop instanced raids for GW2. For big servers like Blackgate, Bloodtide coast has essentially stopped existing as an open world PvE map, and become a massive 150-man instanced raid, albeit with primitive organizational tools.

Think about that for a moment. Bloodtide Coast has become a raid with a 2 hour lockout, as opposed to other MMOs having 1 week lockouts, etc. Take that concept and refine it in your mind. Make it more manageable by the community; basically make the cap smaller (maybe 50 people?) and set it up so that it uses a large party system (evolve the commander/squad system?) instead of the current system of people “ferrying” others into the hardcapped map.

Take what Bloodtide Coast has become, refine it, put it in an instance like a dungeon which can accommodate multiple groups in different instances that are under your control rather than the hardcap limit of the open world map, etc. Anet could do this, the pieces are all there. I think it would please a lot of people, both the raiders and the non-raiders, because it would mean alleviating the congestion of open world maps while simultaneously giving raiders more control over organization.

Devs? Players? Thoughts?

If it were instanced, people like me (Sylvari under the employment of Scarlet Briar ; ) would ignore the event rather than sabotaging it. I’ve spent the past 5 days destroying golems and using up repair hammers so that the group would fail the event. I have been successful in every single attempt to foil the raid.

But it’s not instanced. So I can go there and do whatever I please to the detriment of all those who may be participating. If it were instanced, the party leaders would have far greater control over who is allowed into the event. Their chances at success would be greatly improved.

The only problem with the wurm being so hard is that Bob the level 37 ele thinks it was made for him. Perhaps a warning similar to ski slopes “EXPERTS ONLY” would have helped mitigate all this criticism of it.

I’ve spent way too many enjoyable hours on the wurm. The people it wasn’t made for hate it for mistaking it for general content.

Lane 1, marionette at 4/5 chains, we’re doing the last one (the champ warden that splits into more normal wardens when you get it to 0 ), and our warden, all of a sudden, goes into the circle of the other group, and they had to deal with 2 champion wardens !! While we’re left standing there, with OUR DOGGIE DOGS IN OUR DOGGIE HANDS !

Of course we failed ! We had to watch them get steamrolled by 2 champion wardens because ours somehow went to their circle… I mean.. WHAT THE DOGG !!

After killing the marionette for 4th time today… i was thinking about it’s purpose. It’s just a 2 weeks piece of content? well, then instead of keeping the wurm up and removing the marionette in 2 weeks (as rumoured), we should keep the marionette up (and optional: remove wurms?).

Reasons:
- It’s easy enough to understand by a newbie, yet challenging.
- It’s really fun/replayable since you can only fight 1 of the champions/chains per run (unless a group fails and you are in groups 1-2-3). That makes you wonder how are the other champions and try to see them.
- It’s a big awesome fight that makes players use teamwork and use 5 commanders, giving it some use.
However, the rewards should be adapted.

I am not sure about this but i “think” that most players will choose the marionette over the wurms, and we would like to have the permanent marionette to kill it in our world events rotation.

Any thoughs?

It is not even like the achievement is that hard to do its that you need extreme luck to get competent players in your lane that can kill their wardens. I have no problem with difficult achievements, I completed 8 orbs on Liadri and loved it. Imagine if the 8 orb Liadri achievement not only required you to succeed but the next person to attempt it to succeed as well, does that make any sense. When I screwed up 8 orbs it was my fault not the spectators. However with these dodge ones you have no control over the other platforms and even when my platform kills their champion and manage to dodge the attacks there is usually one or two groups that fail.

There are two ways to fix it so these dodge achievements aren’t so ridiculous. Either A let players help out other platforms once they have completed theirs. Or B make it so if you kill the champion on your platform you get the achievement. With the current system its RNG on if each lane gets a good player who can kill the champs, at least let the good players carry the dead weight on the other platforms.

One possibility. What are your loading times like? If you’re like me and you take up to 10 seconds to appear on the platforms, it may be that you’ve zoned in and got hit by the attack before you even had a chance to respond. One time I zoned in to find my character flat on their face. It was only later after I got hit by the sword attack again and landed in the exact same pose that I realised I must have gotten hit by the sword while zoning in.

I’m a full zerker mesmer, so the first 2 times I got hit it was instant down. If I get hit by anything I’m dead. The last two times I dodged everything and I was standing clear of her sword attack. And when I zoned in both times I had 100% HP. So it’s not that. It has to be bugged, because I got the first 3 with such ease and I should already have this one. I also should have the last one, but all 3 times that I dodged it and wasn’t hit by the 5th one, the other groups failed and I didn’t get it…
