Someone just made me aware of when the last dungeon was released. 1 YEAR AGO.
personally I find that no new dungeons in a year isn’t good at all. Why is this? Have Anet looked at the stats and found that only a very small percentage actually run dungeons? Maybe its the elitism that scares people away? Is it the constant posts from people saying they don’t want to be forced to group with others to complete content that have discouraged Anet from making more? Perhaps they are spending time trying to fix the ones they already have?
Personally I only complete dungeons maybe 3-4 times a week, but I do like the variety in gameplay. It would be nice to see some more.
i don’t know, i have this weird feeling that they started to either work on guild wars 3 or a new expansion pack about 2-3 months ago

This is just a general opinion of the vote kick system. I think it should be removed, or be more unanimous, as it is heavily abused. I see players kicked all the time for simply being sub-80, and I myself am tired of being vote kicked for no apparent reason. I think it detracts from the game in a significant way, and I think it is a convention that should not be upheld, along with many others that were rewritten in guild wars 2; especially considering the ease with which parties may be formed for dungeons. The lack of a vote kick system in Guild Wars 1 was phenomenal. Please remove or modify this system in a way that it does not have such a negative impact on ordinary ‘pick up group’ experiences. Thank you.
yea i agree, i got kicked plenty of times by grumpy people like at the end of the 4th fractal like righ before the end, i carried them all the way till the end and then they boot you like that i mean how lame is that…

The BUY-4373 has a new advanced relic tab containing skins and tonics in exchange for pristine fractal relics.
- Fractal Skins for 50 Pristine relics.
- Endless Fractal Tonic for 250 Pristine relics.
DAILY REWARD CHANGES
The daily reward chests have been reworked to give higher rewards equal to that of the fractal’s difficulty and duration. No longer need to run lower level fractals to get additional daily chests.
- Rewarded on unique boss kill of the day.
- Removed Rings from the daily fractal reward.
- Rewarded 10s per fractal level from daily reward.
- Fractal skins are now chosen from a fractal weapon box that drops instead of each skin separately.
- Ascended Weapon and armour boxes remain unchanged.
- New Mistlocked Chest containing Fractal armour skins.
- Each boss has its own daily reward instead of every multiple of 10 having its own daily reward.
FRACTAL ROTATION CHANGES
The random rolling of fractals often hugely swayed the length and difficulty of any given run. Now you are given the option to choose your next fractal and how challenging it is.
- Fractal Event: Complete fractals to open the boss portals.
- Select your first fractal from the fractal lobby. (Vote process like dungeons with 11 choices.)
- If the vote is tied randomly select from the tied fractals.
- On fractal completion there is another vote for the next fractal.
- Each Fractal raises the fractal event bar. (By how much depends on difficulty fractal and how may fractals you have done before it.)
- When the Fractal event reaches the top you can vote for random boss fractal.
- The Fractal Event has 3 tiers, as each tier fills you can go to multiple bosses. (Each fractal or boss fractal can only be done once per instance.)
- Completing all 11 fractals fills the fractal event bar to tier 3 and you can do all 3 daily bosses in one go, or do them as you tier up each time.
FRACTAL LEVELLING CHANGES
- Fractal level cap raised to 80.
- Agony continues to scale higher.
- Fixed level mistlock instabilities removed.
- Killing a boss will raise your fractal personal level by 1 and up the instances fractal level by 1 (unless they are capped at 80.)

- Each instability added gives an extra 10s in the daily reward chests and higher likelihood of an endless fractal tonic, fractal weapon, ascended armour or weapon boxes.
- Also new Mistlocked Chest unique drop when instability gambits are active. (More gambits raises the chances.)

I have a friend who has recently started playing the game.
He wants to focus on a single class and he asked for a pug carrying one.
I’d say guardian (but I’m unsure on low dps groups), warr/ele (for solo carrying the run)… and engis?

Whats the point of different instability if everyone is gonna take the ez way out by doing fractal with easier instability.
How about we change it up and randomize the instability available up till that fractal level after each fractal.
To kick it up a notch, how about double instability for fractal 40-49 and triple for fractal 50.

Fractals after a certain point have a chance to drop rings and equipment. Would it kill for ANet to include a chance to drop Armor and Weapons like in SPVP reward tracks from the dungeon you’re in?
actually i think that’s a great idea, a reward track for repetitively doing the same dungeons over and over again, but it would be fotm exclusive

i think it would be cool if bloodlust shrines be turned into camps, but camps that give you bloodlust when you capture them, and then call them outposts or something

JQ failed in double teaming and now it is dead.
i’m from a beastgate and i think they successfully double teamed us in season 2
dude, they ddos’d our comms…our teamspeak was constantly crashing and down the entire season 2, that combined with being double teamed, was too much for us to win, but in season 3 we got ddos protection and you’ve seen the result when we can talk to each other now

Anyone else experiencing a ridiculously low drop rate on the key pieces? If this is going to be daily might want to make it better than 1 piece per hour. I have already done 6 world events, killed about 20 champs and mowed through at least 1k worth of mobs and gotten exactly 1 key piece.

Now from i have been hearing they are planing to repeat the one from last year the only thing i would like them to do with the meta reward if it is the same thing(candy corn node) is give the players the choice of having two regular candy corn nodes or turn the one into a permanent rich candy corn node also didn’t we get like 3-4 weeks last year looks like we are getting 2 weeks what is up with that.

Question, there’s a easy way to know to what collection each mini belongs? Just look that mess on that screen, with the previous system i was able to see a tab for each collection and also i was able to easily buy the minis from THAT collection.
Now, i’m wondering what i’m suppose to do when they release set 4 to know what minis belong to that set and in that case i will need to manually search and buy each mini on the trading post.
This update its supposed to be QoL changes, to make easier my life, not more complicated.

what about the fact that the set 1 now has 54 minis total, not 55, and that you need 54 for the achievement, which means if you had Risen Priest of Balthazar for the Set 1 achievement before, you now can throw that in the trash because it doesn’t count as set 1 anymore, which means you’re forced to buy that last exotic miniature from the TP instead of using Risen Balthazar for #54…as you could before.
I already have 8 level 80 characters. I bought enough slots to have 8 toons, 1 of each race and each class. I’m not buying more toon slots just to get some AP, nor am I leveling a toon again just to get the bags. Arena will have to implement some way to get those bags with a lvl 80 toon.

Risen Priest of Balthazar does not count towards the Set 1 Miniature Collector achievement anymore ( I didn’t notice this in the Game Notes), I had 54/55 in he bank miniature Set 1 collectible tab, which is enough for the Set 1 Miniature Collector, but now you need Jack-A-Lop as the 54th miniature, because Risen Priest of Balthazar isn’t #54 anymore and the count of total Set 1 Miniatures has been reduced to 54 instead of 55 due to Mini Balthazar (I Don’t know Why this Wasn’t in the Patch Notes)

It seems to me that anet views the whole Aetherpath endeavor as a waste of time. They develop a new dungeon path, and all they get is complaints. They probably view metrics that show it is the least run dungeon path in the game. Clearly the community doesn’t want more challenging content, they just want to farm the easy stuff, right?
I think there are a number of issues with the aetherpath that prevent it from being popular, but they have nothing to do with its difficulty. I want to highlight some of the ones I see and encourage people in the community to contribute their own. Hopefully, anet will be able to learn from this list, address the mistakes, and be more open to developing new instanced 5-man dungeons.
I’ll start with the big one-
Rewards
Colin JohansonEvery time you finish a dungeon you get tokens you can trade in for reward items that you want, rather than having a small chance of getting it as a drop, because it’s more fun to always get rewarded for finishing with something you want to have!
This was from a blog written in June 2012, explaining some of the PvE design decisions in gw2. It pretty succinctly sums up why people have a problem with the reward system TA aetherpath. The unique weapons skins for this path are locked behind a ridiculously low chance to drop. Whats worse, they can be bought on the TP, which means you are better off farming easy dungeons to save up the gold for the skin you want rather then playing the content it comes from.
All of the at-launch dungeons have a token system which gives you guaranteed progression towards unique rewards. You get to choose the skin you get, so it will be relevant to your character. You may also trade in your tokens for generic, salvageable rares, which gives value to the tokens without making the unique skins tradeable. This is a good system, and it’s clear that it was designed with an understanding of how frustrating rng loot chests can be. I’m not sure why anet has moved away from the token system, but I think it was a mistake.
This is the big thing keeping aetherpath from being popular. But there are some other, smaller aspects that add up to major frustration.
Unskippable Cutscenes
The sparky and slick cutscene is the most egregious. I would also count Caithe’s dialogue at the start of the path – it’s not strictly speaking a cutscene, but we should be able to interact with her to interrupt her dialogue and choose a path.Replacing Foward-Up
This is not something that currently effects the dungeon, but it gave a bad first impression. Rather then doing a simple QoL fix on the final boss of TAF/U, Anet chose to remove the path entirely. This was done with only a few days warning, and and justification given seemed half thought out at best. Instead of excitement about new content, the dialogue on the forums leading up to the patch was soured by this frustrating turn.Padding
Everyone may not agree with me on this, but I believe there are a bit too many filler trash-mob rooms. There are some interesting encounters and puzzles, but getting to each major objective feels tedious. The solution many of the at-launch dungeons have is to make some trash sections optional – skippable. If they want to move away from skips, I believe they should trim down the dungeon to its meat and potatoes. Keep in trash sections which introduce mechanics (like the run between sparky/slick and the foreman in which you blow up the generators), keep the puzzels, but cut out the rest.This post is already getting pretty long so I’ll let others contribute what they see as issues with aetherpath. I want anet to know that there is an audience for challenging 5 man content, and that aetherpath is not a good metric of that audience because of other surrounding factors which kept it from being a success.

I`m one of the “legit” soloer out there. For example I used to solo mainly Arah P3 with warr, a few times also P2 in order to sell. Killing/doing all champs/events which are necessary for progress.
Now I lvl`ed up an elem and solo`ed AC P3 a few times. Also in order to sell. First I asked people to help me at the final boss; yes I know that he is soloable with fgs and stacking, but I failed so I asked buyers to help. Alright so far.
A few days ago I got whispered that it`s not necessary to ask for help since you can kill him solo from a safespot. This safespot does not include leaving the map by teleporting under it. It`s a noraml rock you can stand on and no jumping skills needed at all. Still it`s VERY tricky, you need to time your actions (e.g. skip mobs in the tunels) very good.But no matter wheter a safespot is easy or hard to use.
My question is: is it forbidden to use safespots? Is it the same as glitch underground?Why am I asking this? Well, yesterday a GM appeared out of nowhere next to me when I was selling the run, he did not ban me, since all champs/events which are needed for progress in P3 where done by me, but he also didn`t tell me wheter it`s forbidden to use safespots or not.
So I ask this here…
If anet says yes, no need to worry guys, I won`t use it again. But some enlightenment would be awesome.gn8

2 years later… and we have 2 new zones and 1 new dungeon path, which took the place of an old one. New wvw map… and a bunch of features that the game needed. The new patches have been cool for the 30 mins it took to play, but beyond that this game is going nowhere. The devs have lost touch with the player base. Telling us what we want…. FoV… First person… SAB. All things it would take no effort to put into the game but they won’t do it. Honestly what are they doing over there.
That’s because they’re making Guild Wars 3 now.

As the second season of the Living Story progresses, there are numerous advancements in the mechanics to celebrate, but also some troubles and tribulations. One particular burr in the sandal of the storyline shows no sign of ceasing, and thus it seems fitting to talk about a lingering problem with the narrative. The Biconics.
My thesis is simple. The story should stop treating these side characters like protagonists.
The Biconics are not bad characters. Far from it, they are fairly witty and amusing most of the time, and their interactions can be quite enjoyable. But the Living Story has decided that they are the focal point of the entire game, shackling our main characters to these five strangers and declaring them to be the protagonists of the franchise. This is flawed. It does not make sense from a narrative perspective, and it won’t do the series any favors in presenting interesting and compelling stories in the days to come.
In keeping with my oddball format, I’d like to present six reasons why the Biconics are a problem, and offer an example from the Living Story Season 1 of magnificent storytelling as a model for future tales. Rather than interject any of my own speculation or fanfiction into the mixture, I’d like you to solely consider the characters from the game itself who could be at the forefront of the narrative between these two posts.

I would love to see, if the jellyfish is introduced as new playable race in the on going Living Story. With their fleixibility they are highly promoted for perfoming all classes. They even would bring underwater fights to a new peak of excitement. So i see no reason why they shouldn’t be introduced.
They even can walk on land, so there should be no problem.
