So, when LS3 comes out will we be able to earn more Maguuma Mastery Points? I’ve got one mastery to finish in Nuloch before I hit the coveted 161 and I’m having one heck of a time trying to get the points to do it. Part of this is due to my computer being less than optimal and having to deal with pretty bad ping / lag whilst trying to do the Adventures.
When you look at the Tyrian MPs you have a very broad selection of things to do to finish all of those masteries, but it doesn’t feel like that with Maguuma. So, ANet, can you show us some love and let us get those sweet, sweet MPs? My Artificer who’s been looking at The Raven Staff for far too long will love you for it.
I would agree that the lack of new content is taking its toll on active players. We’ve got new achievements to do (Current Events) but the longevity of those are limited as most players finish them rather quickly.
We’ve got the third wing of the first raid coming soon and hopefully the new Living Story after that. I’m sure that when that happens, you’ll see a lot more players coming back to the game.
Oh yeah, this is a topic discussion that’s been done to death. Thanks Shikigami for providing the summary that the GMs have come up with.
If you’d like to see this for yourself, hybrideq, here’s the thread on that:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Please-a-clear-statement-re-AFK-farming
While it may be unsavory behavior, there’s nothing technically wrong with pet-kill farming. Perhaps that person may be playing the odds on the trading post or involved in chat. But if a GM tries to contact them and they don’t respond? Well, it’s “uh oh spaghetti-o’s” then.

I’ve got the perfect one for everyone who hates (or is bad at) Jumping Puzzles
- Face Planter
I’d definitely use that one.
We had the same thing happen to us. As soon as a newer member could withdraw items, they cleaned out the Guild Stash and deleted the character. At least that’s what we assume because when we checked the logs it showed everything was withdrawn by “Unknown User”. Thankfully our most valuable items were kept in Deep Cave and Treasure Trove where they had no access.
While it can’t hurt anything to send in a ticket, I don’t think that ANet can do much about this. The best thing to do in the future is ensure that only trusted members can withdraw. Also, try to keep the important stuff in the other bank sections and edit your member options so that only officers or trusted members have access.
Good luck getting this resolved. Yet again, in matters of guild issues, I fear that ANet may not be able to reverse the damage done.
Wow…. no need to be an kitten -hole, OP. You have no idea how much I use the TP or node farm for my mats. I sometimes run node routes till I’m absolutely sick of farming. Also, not everyone has tons of gold to spend on the TP, so it’s hard to be greedy when you can’t afford all of the items you need.
Also, since some of us don’t sPvP, there is no track rewards. We have to do event chains. If they didn’t give us any drops then what would be the point of even doing the events (even if the drops are mostly blues and greens)?
And last thing: The plural of sheep is sheep. You’re welcome.

GW2 needs to get rid of scaled zones.
I say if you’re considering level scaling then just don’t have levels at all since they then serve no good purpose. Instead everything should scale up to 80 but have its level hidden leaving crafting tiers for rarities and stat sets instead of levels. The entire game needs a reboot from the ground up if it’s going to be competitive against today’s top offerings.
For $60 what can a customer have-

Guild Wars 2:

Sound like just a PvP only comparison. What I want to know is how Overwatch’s PvE is better than GW2. I’m just gonna make myself some popcorn and wait on your keen observations and well-thought-out response.
No, no… No rush, I’ve got time. Please enlighten me as to what I, a non-PvPer, am missing….
diablo 3’s pve is more entertaining than gw2’s, what’s your point?
Nobody was talking about Diablo 3….. this was a discussion about Overwatch vs. GW2. Now, begone Felecia.
Nope. Salvaging all that useless gear goes a long way towards keeping me supplied with crafting mats. Also, I still have hope that one day I’ll get a precursor drop. Or at the least, some very valuable exotic that I can sell so I can maybe buy my precursor.
Also, what is this “end track chest” you speak of? I don’t believe I’ve seen these in PvE before.

This is now the new method they are taking. Mo said something along the lines about the hype train staying at the station. It’s no longer accepting passengers.
I miss the hype train.
Sweet bro! I didn’t know you were PC!
:D Smooth Penguin confirmed to be Randy Marsh a.k.a. Lorde, lol
Ahhhh! Got it now. It’s obvious that English is not the OPs native language, so it was kind of hard to understand what specifically they were saying.
Now I wish I had crafted Twilight instead of (the precursor for) Nevermore :P
I don’t think there is any way to acquire the Twilight skin without first equipping Twilight. And once that is done, it’s account bound.
I never thought that Ley Line energy was either good or bad. It’s just part of the natural order of Tyria. From clues provided to us, we know that the Elder Dragons have been in a cycle of awakening, consuming the magic (ley energy) and then entering a hibernation phase. During this hibernation phase, the magic they have consumed leeches from them back into the world until they awaken and the cycle repeats itself.
Another thing we know is that when the Elder Dragons awaken to consume magic, the world of Tyria experiences great extinction events of most of the sentient intelligent life (Giganticus Lupus, for example). So, in our current time, we see the modern intelligent lifeforms trying to avoid their demise by killing the dragons. What we don’t know is what effect this will have on Tyria.
As grim as it may be, the Elder Dragons have maintained a natural order to the world. Now that we are upsetting that order, what consequences will that bear? Only time will tell….
Grinding masteries does suck. That being said, I wouldn’t want them handed to me. I get a sense of accomplishment from working hard and finally getting those mastery points. Where’s the challenge in having everything handed to you?
It seems the OP wants instant gratification without having to put forth any effort. If they can’t deal with actually working towards some some modest goals then I’ve only one thing to say… “Bye Felicia”
In your idea, you state: “And I’m sure it would not compromise the game, players would think the game would’ve changed to something else like The Sims.” As I read, that’s exactly the impression I got. While I do think you have some interesting ideas, I feel that it would be too out of place in GW2 to create a life-simulator. One big problem I could see is it would not fit with the immersion or the existing lore of the game.
And about the home instances: You do realize they can be improved upon by adding different material nodes, chests and containers and such, right? Believe me, for a well developed home instance, they are very desirable (and profitable) for the player.
Norn Ranger (male)
And one day…
Tengu Warrior (male)
Ah, Tengu. I pray to the Six we’ll see them become PCs soon. Although, I hope that ANet will have an “Assassin” elite spec by then. Tengu Assassin just sounds so kitten amazing to me.
I’ve got to hand it to you, Smooth. This is actually a reasonable suggestion. Bravo, good sir… Bravo.
I’d be cool with a battle-ready quaggan joining our heros.
Nothing would change. They would then just switch to advertising Legendary weapons or other such valuable items (ectos?). Meanwhile, we’d have to quit doing our guild raffle… nobody would be able to negotiate private trade…. etc.
Just block and report.
Human – Ranger (Druid)
Norn – Guard (Dragon Hunter)
Sylvari – Elementalist
Asuran – Engineer
Charr – Revenant
Although I will admit these are all crafting toons. I main Druid and rarely play the others.

As for flipping? Let’s not mess with that aspect. If flipping were discouraged, our guild’s scribe would be screwed and we’d have to devote a lot more of our time in making sure he had the funds to maintain our treasury and his personal finances.
Update notes state: “The “Defeat the Inquest to prevent them from capturing the Ley-Energy Coalescence” event will now create player-specific versions of the ley-energy items to reduce competition.”
Seems to me that’s problem solved.
And the players did grin. And the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths, and carp and anchovies, and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit-bats and large chu… (Monty Python fans get the idea)
Well done, ANet! Thanks for listening to our feedback
Reading the entirety of his post, it seems to be a satire of how he feels about the “Current Events” requiring players to race against each other to get credit/achievement points.
I get the same feeling. If the OP is being satirical, then well done. If they are serious, then I could not disagree more. The toxic nature that prevails sPvP made me abandon that part of the game except for the daily rooms.
One of the biggest reasons I enjoy this game is because of the cooperative nature. Octovine is a perfect example. If it was a competition, that meta would always fail.
But NPCs are also picking up the ley energy before players can even get to them, which means (obviously) there are even fewer items to collect for the achievements.
I can’t confirm this (due to the mad dash-and-grab nature of other players), but it seems like if an NPC grabs the item and you kill that NPC they drop the ley energy and you or any other player can then claim it.
And I’ll agree, it’s a living hell right now trying to do these APs. I vocalized my disdain at not being able to get even one in three consecutive events and the only advice I was given was “get good scrub” by another player. :/ Maybe once the die-hard AP hunters finish, the rest of us can have a fair shot at it.
I’ve got a buddy who plays on Anvil Rock. I hear that server is about as low of a tier as you can get.
Interesting question for those who’ve maxed their Daily AP limit: Do you still get the gold reward?
I don’t feel strongly one way or the other about earning HoT experience in Central Tyria. I kinda like doing the Auric Basin / Dragon Stand metas.
That being said, what I would LOVE to see is the ability to select either HoT or Tyrian exp rewards from the new Current Events APs. For many of us who’ve maxed Central Tyria, the exp items we get are just a waste.
I am a little salty about something thats… “stupid”
Well, you said it, so there’s no need to repeat it. And no, I don’t agree. Need more storage? Increase your bank tabs.
It’s either crafting a Legendary weapon or balling up in the fetal position and crying because I’m trying to craft a legendary.
So, I’ve often seen the destroyed remains of the Energy Probes around Tyria, but never an active one. I’m assuming this was from a previous event… but the wiki doesn’t give much info. So, are they still interactable or just a leftover relic?
This thread is comedy gold. I’ve so far held off saying what I really want to say about the OPs “problem”…. and I’ll instead offer support for one possible solution.
Like someone mentioned in a previous reply: Try disabling the automatic Windows Update. I too was the victim of somebody in my Guild leading a DDoS attack on my personal computer during our raid night. But I disabled that updater and like magic the DDoS attacks stopped. Crafty jokers must have known that they could no longer hide their actions behind the possibility of some problem on my end.
Selling Tinfoil hats here! Get your tinfoil hats while they’re hot!
Ha ha ha! I’ll take two.
But being serious… is it possible to launch a DDoS against a person’s personal computer? I assumed that was something that was pretty much limited to ISPs and networks….
Like any good investment it’s gonna take some time and some work. Although, I’ve heard that Dragon Stand is the best map for XP gain.
Really enjoyed those events. I was a bit bemused by the Mastery XP rewards automatically applying to my already maxed XP line. Would have been nice to be able to stash those to use against (presumed) new masteries in the future but I guess in Central Tyria we’re never short of XP.
I agree… while I won’t complain about more APs, I did feel a little “cheated” on the rewards for the event since I’m maxed on Tyrian masteries. Perhaps ANet will be kind enough to give us some Maguuma-related events. That’s where I could use those XP rewards.
A few quick questions before I buy the HoT
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Silas Eorth.7348
1)World Completion (as far as waypoints and the “Gift of Exploration”) is toon specific.
2) I’m hesitant to recommend any certain class because I believe it’s just a matter of personal preference. For me personally, I love my Druid (ranger). I also have a Dragon Hunter (guardian), but I’m still learning how to play it properly. As for the other classes, I have no real experience with them.
3) To start the HoT content, you simply go to your Story Journal and activate the HoT story. You’ll be directed to the Silverwastes for the first mission which leads into Verdant Brink (the first HoT map). After that first mission, you can either continue the story or do your own thing.
A small bit of advice: Once you’ve had the chance to start familiarizing yourself with the new content, it would be wise to invest time on the Gliding masteries and the one with the “jumping mushrooms” (Itzel Lore)… it will make navigating the new zones much more forgiving.
EDIT: As Sird mentioned, you can also access the new maps by exiting the guild hall through the appropriate portal, yet you may be limited as to how far you can progress. I believe that Lost Precipice may require some gliding to get into the map part of the map while Guilded Hollow has some kind of “Exalted Barrier” that requires a mastery to cross.
In lieu of this, you could also just ask a guildie, friend, or friendly stranger to let you warp to them using a Teleport To Friend consumable item.

1) Yes you do, but just by being level 80 you will have enough HP to unlock all the skills and specialization. So all the HP that you unlock in the maps will be use for you elite spec.
Well… you won’t be able to max out the Elite specialization just by having a lvl 80 toon. You’ll have to earn some HPs to finish that one. That being said, once you’re in a HoT map, you should be able to find an HP-train fairly easy since a large number of the HPs offer loot rewards for doing them daily. Also, if you don’t feel like getting the HPs in the new maps or doing Tyria completion, you can also earn “Proof of Heroics” from WvW. This new currency will allow you to buy HPs from either Central Tyria or the new maps.
(Also, HoT HPs count as 10 per instead of one).
A lot of people confused the daily JP for another one that is very close to the same area. In my haste, I went to Antre of Adjournment, did the JP and didn’t get credit so I did a double-check on the /wiki and confirmed I was at the wrong one.
Others who were at the correct JP did receive credit.
Not at all. Think about it, why make only bags slot expansion character only?
All the gathering nodes are account bound, not character.
Additional crafting license goes for every character on the account. No, not all gathering nodes are account bound….
Legitimate question: What nodes are not account bound?
I was recently subjected to a whole Jormag fight with at least two of those things in attendance. By the end I was beginning to feel that maybe the dragon had the right idea trying to wipe us out.
That’s absolutely freakin’ hilarious!! :P I can just imagine ol’ Claw rolling his eyes and thinking to himself, Jeeze… if the DPS doesn’t kill me, those horrid corny backpieces will!!
I’ve got the Copper-fed tool and was really happy to have the jokes… at first. Now, I’ve heard it so much that I just tune it out subconsciously. I guess it’s the old “too much of a good thing” adage at play for me.
If you’re trying to do the JP on your own merits, it can be a pain in the backside with everybody there… especially right after reset (see 1st pic). Sometimes, if you wait a little while, the rush dies down and it’s easier.
Although, if you just want to finish the daily AP then there is another great option (see 2nd pic)……
I’m not sure. I would think that there’s an option somewhere for it. If not, it may be a good option for the devs to add.
I was just making a lame joke in response to the OP. I’m guessing they are annoyed with the Job-O-Tron sound effects. Maybe an extreme reaction on their part, but hey… nothing stopping them from adjusting their audio options to fix that.
And I’m looking for my lost shaker of salt :P
1) Try to find an active guild. It’s one of the easiest and best ways to find helpful and knowledgeable players. (www.GuildX.com is a good place to find some. Or you could just ask who’s recruiting while in Lion’s Arch.)
2) If you can’t get an immediate answer from map chat, then use the wiki. Maybe you were on a low-populated map with others who were still learning the game and didn’t have the answers you were seeking because they didn’t know either.
3) Yes, PvP is very salty and filled with very toxic, elitist players. The best thing to do is to just ignore the haters and try to learn your class a little better.
Apples Anonymous are great! Very friendly and they do a great job at the explanations.
EVOS used to do them… but I think they are trying to get out of the TT business. At least that’s the impression that I got after one of their commanders gave the map a lecture about “not being lazy and relying on them”. I’m guessing that guy was probably just having a bad day and I don’t know if he was speaking for the guild.
Why does sexual identity or orientation have to be an issue at all in Tyria? In my many, many hours playing I’ve never seen a single NPC point out these concepts or try to draw attention to them. IMO, this is trying to inject a IRL issue (that may or may not be controversial to the individual) into a world where nobody seems to give a flying kitten about it in the first place.
And if we’re going to talk about equality, then why should ANet go out of their way to make a transexual or homosexual NPC be some kind of revolutionary hero (i.e.- “killing the next dragon” as the OP put it)? Perhaps they are the ones that awaken or ally with the next dragon? That seems fair to me.
Sometimes, I really think that people are looking really really hard for things to kitten about. If you have no intentions to purchase any shared slots, then why kitten about them? For those of us who salvage tons of stuff, they’re great. Especially if you have a salvage-o’matic tool.
Okay, so I bought two Black Lion keys off of the Gem Store. I split two chests off of my stash and went to open them. One chest consumed both keys.
I did a double-check of my inventory and bank, but no key. I only had one Personalized gift (meaning one chest opened) and the other unopened chest, so I didn’t mistakenly use it.
I’m just wondering if anyone else has notice this? I’ve already sent in a support ticket, but still wondering if anyone’s ever has this happen to them.
