Most of you are insane, TL:DR at end
So lets see what has been released and what tips has anet gave:
-All elite speccs will be focused on CC/support
-Chronomancer got Wells and a Shield, we can assume that no other elite specc will get necro
-Dragon kitten got Bow and traps, we can assumi that no other elite specc will get Ranger
-Necro has been confirmed to get GreatSword and since Ranger is out, Warrior or Guardian
-Engineer is getting Hammer and since the trailer show it and some anet staff winked at us, we all see flying minions and since necro has been taken, Hammer+minions= guardian
-That means that Necro is getting Warrior stuff and since its a support/CC, necro is getting either banners or shouts
-Druids are getting staffs so that means either ele or mesmer since necro has been taken, am voting for elemental cuz water magic/earth magic helps plants grow and water magic is support and druid is a support role
So that leaves us with a few choices since we rule out many options
-What will thief get?
-What will elementalist get?
To answer this question we only have to see whats left, that means engineer has 2n and mesmer has 2nd.
Since Elementalist is getting Tempest and i guess sword, we can take out engineer and that ends our logic.
TL:DR
-Guardian gets Ranger and becomes a Dragon Hunter: Bow+traps
-Mesmer gets Necro and becomes Chronomancer: Wells
-Ranger gets Elementalist and becomes Druid: Staff+"waterish/earthish" skill on staff with a nature theme, no 2nd guess on support
Engineer gets Guardian: Hammer and “flying spirit drones” or whatever (wards?)
Necro gets Warrior: 2hand sword most likely Ranged and either Banners or Shouts
Elementalist gets Mesmer and become tempest: 1hand sword and Glamours
Thief gets Engineer: Rifle+Elixirs (think support)
And by this logic Warrior gets Thief: Either Pistol or dagger and Deception or tricks for utility, i think tricks is achivable by warriors standarts
Nerfing Power build is not the way to go to make the other builds more apealing, you nerfing the fun of Power builds.
Will have to see the rest of the specializations, but it’s an interesting thought … not sure if I feel like Chronomancer is Mesmer + Necro either.
6 gods, 6 dragons, 6 specializations we don’t know about yet. 6×6×6 is 216. 2+1+6=9. 9-6(gods/dragons/specializations we don’t know about) = 3. 12(months)-5(May)=7. 7+3=10. HoT is released in October.

Why specify Warrior as Warrior when every one of our characters are warriors?
In MMO lingo,
Warrior refers to a mostly melee or fully melee character that uses his combat experience and armor to rampage across the battlefield, in some MMORPG the “Warrior” class uses medium armour and fast strickes but this definitation usualy fits better the “Fighter”/Rogue/Barbarian.
I always felt like sword was supposed to work like this:

Basicly a Ranger that uses Shortbow hybrid nature and supports
A Jack of All, Master of none Ranger:
-Average Condition damage (bleeds ticking around 84/s, poison 166/s)
-Average Physical damage (1500 Power with 92% Critical Damage and 40% Critical Chance)
-Above Average Survival
-Average Support but since Ranger support doesn’t use much Healing Power, it’s quite good

What’s the trade off for becomign a chronomancer? Wich skills or trait lines i lose?
Am i forced to use those 4 utilitys/elite?

Sometimes in traits i see Phantasm only but then i see Ilussion

So your entitlement history as ranger was needed to cry about sword aa. I’m sure you are aware of the multitude of threads about it already?
WE won many battles, sword auto root is one of the next battles, and if you see the ready up where they show the brainstorming that they are doing for the Ranger, you would know that Sword auto rooting will still be a problem in HoT

…So… when is 1 hand sword getting fixed by removing the kittenty root? I don’t care about what Elitist theory nubs say, you can’t pve with zerker ranger or even soldier ranger if you get rooted all the time, random dmg will own you….
It’s working as intended and the best part about the sword, but you need to turn off the AA an press 1 manually so that you can break the chain if you need to.
That’s not a fix, it’s a bandaid.

For the staf, think World of Warcraft balance druid and resto shaman
“Wrath” has skill 1 for staff
“Entagling Roots” has we can see from the video

Let me introduce myself.
I played Ranger in Guild War 1 since launch till GWEN and was a beta tester for Guild Wars 2.
I made a Ranger obviasly and after 4/5 months after launch took a break till now, played 2 weeks 1 year ago to see how the ranger was but not much changed.
So let me begin, Ranger was OP once in Guild Wars 2, at BETA GreatSword Power Ranger had everything to fight 2vs1 and even 3vs1 and reign supreme, then GreatSword was nerfed to the ground, but seems slighty better now.
Shortbow was decent and still is decent, even after the initial nerf but now into what mathers.
My beloved longbow finaly got the love that derserved, when i checked the Read the Wind Trait, a tear of joy droped.
I also see that Entanglement FINALY is a 60s cd, OMFG! FINALY they heard the community.
And the Signets! FINALY we don’t have to trait then to make it any good and they get a respectable CD
Since launch i can finaly get some respect in pve and WvW and some sPvP for pulling a Longbow altough Longbow needs some love for sPvP.
Rangers, we are finaly winning a war that started since the Greatsword nerf, making Ranger a solid class, until now we had couple working builds.

We sure would welcome Hammer and Staff weapons for the ranger like we had in gw2
The staff would be a support weapon around traps and spirits like gw1 players used (manly for the extra energy)
The hammer would be a variant of the GS mixed with warrior hammer with a touch of Beastmastery

Guard, the only reason it got used because it was Low in Cooldown for the Shout Builds, If any of the other abilities would of been of equal cooldown (like Sic’Em) they probably would of been used over Guard….The only time the ability has ever been used for the actual ability itself was back in the day when i could send my pets over walls to attack people…That is the only time.
Protect Me – Is still Meh, usually ends up with your pet instantly dying unless you bring a Bear.. but then you’re bringing a Bear….so you’re screwed either way
Sic’Em, still crap…No on uses it because it grants damage or speed to a pet, because usually that breaks anyway, The only reason you run the ability, is to troll Stealthers.
I use protect me in my Power Ranger WvW build, protect me and signet of stone= 12s alive

On sPvP i hit a thief with a 10k maul, you can only have 60% critical damage in sPvP so in WvW am not suprise biggers hits can be achieved

Those of you who have played GW1 or Gw2 a long time – do you think Anet will let us refund Valk or Zerk ascended gear? I spent months on that, anythign with a ferocity stat should get a refund or do-over if it gets nerfed as hard as it sounds like it is getting nerfed.
I wont rage quit but i think i will lose-interest quit if Valk becomes totally crappy.
It wont become crappy, your crits will just do like 10% less damage
And remenber Magic Find gear?

Only Crit-Damage will be nerf…
Meaning:
You have 123% Critical damage now
You may see a reduction for about 15%/20% and have 108%/103% with the same gear you have now.
Very little will change
when setting it up in spvp the maul crit can get even higher than that. 50k+ is possible, with a setup mind you.

I use it in hot join pvp and laugh so hard when i crit eles/thiefs for 10k mauls
I like some sugestions but not all, they lack sense
Hunter’s call should apply Blindness each second, not knockdown, makes more sense and would work great for pve/pvp
Also, barrage should have faster caster time, Ice bow “barrage” seems faster wich aint fair and we should be able to cast barrage on the move
We need this on the move for WvW and sPvP
Also, what about a new utility:
“Read the Wind”: Your projectiles do 25% extra damage and fly at double speed, 30s. Preparation 40s cd with half a second cast time

I have to agree. I rolled a ranger, and when I dropped my first trap, and foe never came near it because they were too busy chasing my pet, they lasted another 5 lvls before they were deleted. In gw1 I never used a pet..I found the compulsory pet in gw2 just annoyed me more than anything else.
The scope in ranger previously was good;
Interrupter
condition pressure
choice of short, medium,long range
Bunny thumpers
TrappersIt really feels to me that rangers took a large step backwards in gw2. They’re not even the best profession with bow..if the ranger isn’t the best given profession with bow, well that spoke volumes to me. It is why you see so many rangers in higher content using axe/warhorn.
The scope ain’t that far off
We still have condition builds that work amazing
We still have trappers builds that are amazing
Our support builds are EPIC to say the least, water fields, spirits, many buffs
The problem in Ranger lies in its POWER builds
Anything going Marksmanship/Beastmastery/Skirmishing for physical DPS is doomed in most cases
Marksmanship/Skirmishing problem: Our weapons do not hit HARD enough for a Power/Crit build to be competitive, yes we can hit 10k mauls with Signet of the Wild and Signet of the Hunt but thats 1 trick poney
Beastmastery: Our Pets are mentaly kittened, why would you waste precious taste making ur kittened pet a tiny bit stronger?
I hope anet either gives rangers more physical damage or more survival cuz right now we are broken

Crafting 400-425 is pretty cheap if you refine Hardened Leather if you don’t have or want to buy/farm the Oricalcum or Ancient Wood.
Crafting 450-475 is when you can get xp from crafting “gold-free” ascended materials such as Bloodstone and Dragonite, however it can be expensive Karma/Fractal Token/Laurel-wise. I don’t believe Bloodstone should be too hard/expensive to get.
475-500 you basically just need to discover weapons. I’d suggest discovering all of the warhorn and torch basic recipes(the ones you can just buy from the vendors)
Bows are cheap, thanks to the fact they use wood and leather which are both SIGNIFICANTLY less expensive than Orichalcum. Obviously the insignia will still be expensive to make, but both bows should be your go to items for discovery if you want to save money.
Not true, bows require 4 Ancient Wood planks(~56s) which is 12 logs(~60s). Torches and horns both are 2 Oricalcum Ingots and 2 planks (total ~48s) or 4 ores and 6 logs (total ~50s).
If you’re choosing to T6 mat farm every day and not rely on the tp to get mats I’d even say making pistols and even rifles would be cheaper timewise, since it’s more of a mix of both ingots and wood, and you’d wouldn’t lose as much when using the tp to exchange ingots for planks due to the 15% charge when you sell items

From 425-500 i found a new way to make proffit of TP, pretty solid break even point and a very stable market for it.

Oh god, don’t force ppl with a PVT build, its good for PVE when you can’t crit bosses and need to survive.
I rather play a zerker longbow build in WvW than go PVT

Am currently building my thief for WvW and am thinking 15k hp 50% crit chance and a good chunk of power:
1. Ranger PLEASE help him, help us, make him OP then tone down a tiny bit, power builds arent good enough
2. Elementalist needs help
3. Thief could use some buffs in Pistol/Pistol

Mesmer is a god of survival
pets are far from useless my lynx the other day didn’t just down a Mesmer but killed the Mesmer before i had a chance to use a finisher because i was busy killing a thief and at lest a few times a day in pvp people will run away because my pet is killing them and my pet doesn’t die fast at all most rangers just don’t spec for pets i have Faux Sheaux’s Roaming Regen Ranger (RRR) Build 0/0/30/10/30 some rangers just don’t use the right pets at right time or just blow off BM all together watch this should cheer you up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qs7jbFqRCTA

Rangers condition builds work great! The problem is that its the only viable builds for Ranger atm, anything going Power Ranger will fail
In sPvP i run a 10/30/30/0/0 build and i know it feels great but i don’t run it because i love it, i run it because its the only way to play ranger… condibunker
Apparently it wasn’t so hard to make the hero-ai good enough to ban them from PvP in GW1.
Pets in gw1 were cannon fodder, in pvp they were used for the mystical iWay, thumper builds and some rare beast master (beast master builds were mostly used in low pvp like Random Arena)
I wish ranger could use hammer so we could bring back the RaO Thumper, HaO Thumper and other cool stuff back into gw2
