Personally I think the Warrior is the best overall balanced class. It’s the other classes that need buffs or updated weapon skills.
With all the warrior complaints though, I wouldn’t be suprised to see the warrior reduced down to a farmer charging into battle with a pitchfork screaming “For Great Justice”!
Unfortunately for GW2 class balancing effects all three areas of the game, PvE, WvW, and straight PvP. They stand by keeping it simple, but I think it makes it tough because a change for one area effects the other in a different way (sometimes).
Another big downfault in my opinion is that the attempt to make every class “equal” created this mindset where a thief should be able to do everything any other class can do.
I would rather see:
Heavy classes= Tanky, support, burst damage, lead
Medium Classes= Mobile, roaming, critical damage, scout
Light Classes= Heavy DPS, medium mobility, different types of damage, “guts” of a groups damage, but high reward/high risk game play. More challenging than other.Maybe that breaks the barrier into “Holy Trinity” but whatever lol
There should be trade offs to each strength…strong armor should equal medium damage and low mobility…weak armor stronger damage with more mobility…how hard is that to understand?

Well…ANET quickly fixed the Suicide Diving Mesmer glitch…let’s see how long it takes for this to get fixed.

I’ll donate the 10 bags I got by suicide jumping to a good cause. (Got them in two epic jumps). Was too fun to pass up the chance.
….just had a thought, ANET may have solved the server in balance issue. So many mesmers on T1 doing the suicide jump that a permaban would totally wipe out the top three server populations.

So…I have a pet…you’d think that would give me an advantage in small scale and 1v1 encounters…nope. Forget about your pet lasting more than 1 second in a zergball fight….
Don’t get me wrong, I do like the Pet Rez function…but I feel something is lacking with rangers….we give up the heavy armor and survival capabilities that Warriors and Guardians enjoy, we don’t have the tricksie spells that mezmers and thieves have…back in the day we used to have awesome range attack, but that got nerfed after the warriors and guardians complained we hurt them so much.
Rangers need some more love and attention…bring back the range in ranger please anet!
And while I’m begging…How about a sniper shot that goes twice as far and does awesome damage (thinking of guardians and warriors who stand on walls defending)…give us a head-shot that will make them think twice about exposing themselves for too long!)

I don’t bring my toons to WvW until they are in the 40’s. And then I use a combination of WvW and PvE (storyline and map completion) to finish leveling them to 80.

Makes sense. I like the concept. Not sure when the right time for this to kick in…maybe at a tipping point where it looks like the winning server is going to steam roll the other two?

The thing about Engineer’s use of the Perplexity Runes is that the main tools/kits/weapons that we use to proc Interrupt or add Confusion do very little damage in and of themselves. Static Shot, Magnet, Prybar, Shield, #3 Bomb – none of these are very powerful.
what does it matter when the person sits there with 25 confusion stacks and can’t attack back…
look at fireworks thief, he didn’t even use any weapon dmg and thieves can’t even get such high stacks like engi

No…I can usually outrun a warrior. All my skills work on them, they cripple nicely. I hit a thief with everything I have, to include my elite and his stealth cleanses/heals and sets him up for crazy damage. Try interrupting a Thief’s finishing blow when you are down…they go stealth and only reappear when you are dead with a cow sitting on your face.

I generally try to “keep it clean” when I post in forums. And I was surprised when a comment I made regarding Stealth was removed because it was obscene. Maybe I stepped on a moderator’s thief alter ego?

I consider myself as middle of the pack in regards to WvW skill…yet I loose most encounters with thieves.
ANET, if you can’t rebalance the thieves, then give every class an effective counter to stealth.

My ranger encounters a thief…I hit him with concussion shot—no effect, I hit him with cripple-no effect, I hit him multiple times with num 1-no effect. I wait until he is unstealthed and hit him with my Elite skill (Entangle)..no effect. I spend the next several seconds dodging him until I get killed.

Running with a Zerg can be fun…running with a small team ninja capping objectives is also fun. Beautiful thing about GW2…you can choose to do what you want.

As a thief (and I know, as soon as you say that, you kind of screw yourself), I think Rangers should be able to have a skill that does what the stealth disruptor does that requires a grandmaster skill in either Beastmastery (if it was pet based detection) or Wilderness Survival.

Back stabbing thieves who can near perma stealth are over powered. Damage capability people stealthed should be reduced or give us an effective counter to deal with them.

Maybe an option could be for two WvW instances…a competitive League instance and a normal “casual” WvW.
One way that could be executed is by eliminating the current server vs sever model for the competitive league. Why not create a new set of 12 “Teams” that are not server dependent and allow players to join them for the competitive WvW play?
The current Server Model could stay in effect for the casual WvW play…
Players would be asked to select which version of WvW they would want to join for the week…or day…

I’d like to see a place in WvW where players from all three worlds can interact “peacefully” Perhaps a WvW Tavern atmosphere that could also be a place where people can challenge each other for 1v1 duels (that other’s could witness while in the Tavern).
…there are many times where I have met competitors in WvW and either wanted an opportunity to get to know them better…or challenge them to a duel. I think this enhancement would augment the WvW experience and serve to allow those types of interactions.
