WvW is finally working as intended. If there is a dominant server, then the two weaker servers need to cooperate and collaborate to knock them down.
In NA during Season 1 was had a dominant server get a weaker server to be their kittens to target their rivals…still legal…but not satisfying for the kitten server (in fact they imploded right after Season 1…most likely due to the shame and embarrassment of their failed strategy.

The Legendary Defender should put the “laughter” in “manslaughter”.

I like the idea of a death penalty. Would be funny if you went to EOTM when you died…sort of like going to purgatory…for the 5 minute “Hospital” time out.
It would add another element to tactics and strategy…servers will better kill rates would actually be at an advantage.

I used to support the AoE cap being lifted but after tonight.. again with the skill lag, it would make the game completely unplayable..
I think I have a better solution though.. Amplify the damage based on the number of targets sitting in the red circle (up to a max of 25 players). Basically for every player past 5 in the red circle incurs a 5% damage increase to whoever is hits.
10 players = 25%, 15 = 50%, 20 = 75%, and of course 25 = 100%.
I don’t think this is too over the top because most people generally don’t run full dps builds, so their AoE won’t be too noticeable. Those that do run full zerker will now possibly get their damage back and then some to compensate for the critical damage nerf. Gives reason for players to more run zerker now and play on the edge so to speak.
Id even go as far to say that if there are 30+ in the red circle, also incur a healing debuff that prevents healing for a few seconds.
Scaling damage….I like that. ++

Seriously people, GW2 is a great game. It’s complex, interesting, constantly evolving.. and there’s more to do at any time than you could possibly get bored with.
I don’t understand why people are so negative all the time. Sure, give constructive feedback, but accept what is there and work with it instead of finding every tiny thing to complain about. Sure glad I don’t work for Anet and have to listen to the constant disparaging of my work.
I remember Commodore 64. Gaming has come such a long way, it’s really, truly amazing. The graphics and artwork are incredible now.
That we can even afford a computer and play a game such as this automatically puts us among the top richest people in the world. How about some gratitude and perspective?
TL;DR
Count your blessings in life and stop the QQ.
Good statement. Offer a soapbox (these forums) and the masses will bloviate—GW2 is awesome and in fact we all are fortunate to have the ability to play it.
However, some of the qq’ing is quite deserved…there are some significant issues in GW2 that need addressing. PVE dominates WvW. I wish some skills and traits could be rolled out different in a WvW environment…

Please ANET, just do it….

The trick to surviving as a ranger in a Zerg Ball is not to be in the middle.
I stay on the outer edges and depending on the tactical situation I either rain death on the other zerg ball, or I snipe eles and necros who also live on the outer fringes of a zerg ball.
I’m not prolific or anything, but my ranger himself has nearly 20,000 wvw kills.
JQ Ranger
Guardians get 300 vitality, we get faster longbow arrows… lol.
I mean after a full day of reading this stuff (been checking the phone and computer way too often today) this bears repeating. 3,000 health versus a better chance for autoattack to hit.
They gots to buff the guardian up cause our sharp sticks will be hitting them faster and harder. We might actually hurt something.
JQ Ranger
I shook the magic 8 ball…got the answer for ya….
Answer: Yes, we might do something.
JQ Ranger
GW1 was far superior (from a ranger perspective)

Increased distance +Increased Speed + Increased Damage would get me excited. Plus, camouflage as a proactive skill rather than reactive would get me excited…

Ranger = Expert mode.
Warrior = Easy Mode.
JQ Ranger
You have five other alts maxed to 80 yet get tired of their mechanics and return to ranger for the agony and the ecstasy.
JQ Ranger
Sic ’em! Since I started packing that thieves tend to run away from me…to softer targets.
JQ Ranger
Camoflauge as a proactive trait rather than reactive.
JQ Ranger
BG did this before Season 1….they love playing the, “We are the underdogs” card…makes them feel big and bad.
Don’t worry, they will flex once Season 2 starts.
JQ Ranger
I’m surprised ANET hasn’t reached out to brand names for endorsement deals…imagine the power Cheetos, Doritos, and a coke could give you
…Wait…they do in real life!
:-P
P.S. ANET…I want compensation if you pursue this idea

This is too funny…two posts about Rangers being OP in one week.
They nerfed Rangers way back cause the favorite sons (Warriors and Guardians) didn’t like our sharp projectiles—they hurt them and disrupted their melee trains.
Our abilities are linked with our pets, who melt in seconds during WvW battles.
Barrage OP? Don’t think so.
JQ Ranger
My pet is useful in engaging small groups…in a zerg my pet dies before getting to his target.
In WvW my pet is my rez buddy….that’s about it.
JQ Ranger
Man this thread could be written as a soap opera.
SoR…sorry y’all imploded. I miss the good old days of you and BG snuggling together.

Reevaluate our bow or any other range weapons. How can someone directly below me be out of my range?
Retool Camouflage: I’d like to see it applied differently—instead of reacting to dazed, knocked down, launched, pushed back, or stunned. Ideally camouflage could be proactive, rather than reactive (such as when a ranger stands still for a period of time they blend in with their background).
Currently The Wilderness Survival Trait: Hide in Plain Sight Applies camouflage when you are dazed, knocked down, launched, pushed back, or stunned.
Movement: If we are masters of nature how can almost all other professions outrun us?
JQ Ranger
Heavies stay on the pin…squishy rangers stay on the outer fringes picking off the wounded and the running.
JQ Ranger
Elite “Signet of the Hunter”
Passive: Gain Camouflage after 3 seconds of not taking damage and not moving
Active: Endless endurance for 4 seconds and recharge all (weapon?) skills (balance?)
Cooldown can be 80 to max 100 seconds.I can’t see anyone using this to do anything but troll in WvW. You wouldn’t even necessarily need to rez a dead mesmer — although they could put parties of thieves to shame — you could just hide 5 rangers in a keep.
I think being masers of blending in your surroundings should be a part of a ranger’s skill set…hiding in a keep using camouflage…now that would be awesome :-)
JQ Ranger
We do have a trait that applies camouflage already. I know you’re talking about a slightly different application, just thought it weird you didn’t acknowledge it at all.
Yes, sorry. I should have been clearer.
I’d like to see it applied differently—instead of reacting to dazed, knocked down, launched, pushed back, or stunned. Ideally camouflage could be proactive, rather than reactive (such as when a ranger stands still for a period of time they blend in with their background).
GW2 Definition: Camouflage is an effect that, similar to stealth, makes your character invisible. The effect functions the same as stealth, but is removed by movement. Also, as this is another type of effect than stealth, it does not trigger any traits or skills related to stealth. Unlike other effects, it has no accompanying icon above the skill bar.
The Wilderness Survival Trait: Hide in Plain Sight Applies camouflage when you are dazed, knocked down, launched, pushed back, or stunned.

disappear while you are near a tree or bush?
Blend in with the territory…
JQ Ranger
Rangers are masters of nature…why can’t we naturally blend in with our surroundings, making it difficult to see us if we are standing still?
My wish list (in addition to increase in movement speed and the distance our bows can reach (I still don’t understand how someone BELOW you can be out of reach of a bow, but I digress))…
I’d like to see camouflage play a part in out abilities…maybe as a trait. This ability would allow the ranger to nearly disappear while standing still.

YES.
But have a Professional League not server specific but team specific…I mentioned this before: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Why-Leagues-Will-Make-People-Quit/first#post2805175
JQ Ranger
Zerging is a tactic. Sometimes I join them..other times I join a small havoc squad, GW2 offers you free will to choose how and where you play.
I totally agree with the AOE cap…the post about “everyone running Necros and Eles” if it is lifted is too funny as now everyone seems to b running warriors and guardians in WvW.
Remove the cap and the tactics and strategy of WvW will change for the better (IMHO).
JQ Ranger
There are pros and cons of allowing free communication between combatants. I really enjoyed the banter in GW1…I practically lived in Fort Aspenwood…I encountered a lot of kittens…but I also found some good friends.
JQ Ranger
I think folks in an Outmanned map should be able to have a couple of minutes of Righteous Indignation to call upon when the enemy zerg pounces on them for a wipe.
JQ Ranger
++ Please do this!
JQ Ranger
Meh. Just another day in WvW…nothing to see here, move along folks.
JQ Ranger
Invest in a Journeyman Salvage kit and salvage all Greens and Blues…sell all material and Golds in Lion Trading Company…I make 10-20 gold a week doing that…
JQ Ranger
So pressing 1 & 2 over and over again is enough for a thief to live in a zerg?
JQ Ranger
Outnumbered = “Free Death”
JQ Ranger
Honeymooon from SoR was 4250+ about a month ago. He doesn’t really talk but he’s the highest I know of.
Rank 4250…that’s insane! Is GW2 his full-time hobby/day job?
JQ Ranger
I ranger 95% of the time in WvW…LB is a great weapon…you just need to play smart, let the tanks hold the line and hope a thief doesn’t find and target you…but Sic’em usually makes a thief target a softer target.
The LB deals out some decent damage and really allows a team to hold a choke point.
When roaming I pack a sword and torch as my second weapon set…in a group I use axe and war horn.
…and YES. Rangers need some dev love. We should be one of the fastest professions movement wise. The range on our bows need extending (when a warrior can close the gap in practically no time and out run you when you stress him…then that indicates some tweaking might be in order.)
JQ Ranger
Please stop, just stop, the English language has been butchered enough by your hash tags and yolos, we don’t need definitions changed aswell to suit each others personal needs.
Blob – an object, especially a large one, having no distinct shape or definition: a blob on the horizon.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/blobEssentially it doesn’t matter if it’s one guild or not, a large group of any kind = blob.
Our language is a living language…try as you might you can’t stop it from evolving.
JQ Ranger
Blob: A derogatory term used to describe the group that totally face rolled your group into the dirt.
JQ Ranger
All you elitist Guild Leaders…Leadership is: The art of influencing and directing people to accomplish the mission.
Not bullying. Not belittling, Not whining.
Lead. Don’t dictate.
…and to all y’all Ranger haters…you don’t deserve a response that would get my post censored.
JQ Ranger
I prefer to run solo…or with a small group of PUGs that have demonstrated some sort of capability and WvW savvy.
Running Guild raids…done that. I find it too much work and effort. I play GW2 to have fun and relax…not as a second job.
JQ Ranger
Having range is useless if you can’t keep the enemy away. You shoot 2-3 shots and the bad guy will be in your face. The ranger’s melee weapon (I consider it a secondary) is no match against a lot of the other melee classes.
You would have to spec to have a few immobilization skills, but those only allow you to get an extra 1, maybe 2 hits before the bad guy comes at you again or breaks immobilization.
I play as a ranger. In small roaming groups, I rely on my teammates to keep bad guys away from me, and that is pretty bad. In zergs, I just pop an arrow barrage and use lightning dash to GTFO… then try to target soft targets like necros and ele (and strangely, some guardians)…. then pop arrow barrage and repeat. Pop an occasional healing spring.
Or I try to pew pew from the walls..
Honestly, it is a low skill class for the average player (thats me)… and you have to work extra hard to even be as good as the higher tier classes.
YES! Rangers need to be fast (faster than a 300 pound warrior you think?) and our range weapons need to have freaking range.
JQ Ranger
rank 350 across all my toons…one ascended ring.

I think our mini Dolyaks should give us a +15 supply buff :-)
JQ Ranger
I’ve posted this before…in a world where you have mesmers that can port…why do towers even have gates? Think of the kinds of nearly impenetrable towers that could be constructed if mesmer’s portals were employed.
JQ Ranger
The main problem is most likely the fact that it would be way to easy to abuse the system and simply stand around trading the points to gain high amounts of WXP with little to no risk.
We saw this back during Season 1, where you needed a certain amount of ruins captured, people from two or three servers just stood there, taking it over and over without attacking each other.
It promoted peace for short periods of time :-)
