Check your gpu and cpu for overheating. If the entire pc(bsod) crashes then it very well could be a psu issue. Get some compressed air as well, dust kills

I would get a i5 or i7 K series CPU and new mobo but that is just me.

Does your 3930k@4.6ghz run 100 man zergs at 30fps? How was the Karka LA event. This game has some serious issues technically. WvW culling is another issue :P

I agree that setting the bar high is a good thing, but people shouldn’t have to wait for prices on current high end technology to drop to get 30fps on a dx9 game that was designed from the ground up to run zergs.
You have to admit that the lack of foresight was obvious when they used a modified gw1 engine.

This could be something as simple as a blocked port in your firewall. I agree with Kirito, please explain what you have done in the past please

Time and money may be one thing but using an antiquated API is ridiculous for a AAA title with 6 years of dev time available. Why not put in dx 7 support while we are at it..

I believe that the sound issue can be resolved by putting the ingame audio settings to defaults. I had this issue and after I reset to defaults I haven’t had it since.

The devs even state that they are running a modified gw1 client. DX9 is terribad. Not only that but making a game with 100 people on screen while the client doesnt have the technology available to make it run smoothly is a major mistake. The only thing I can think of is waiting 2 years when CPUs become available to run wvw and zergs at a decent framerate.

I had the issues with old and new drivers. I disabled AO in the cpl but still remains.

The lack of any comments regarding performance issues with the client is very disconcerting. I agree that if some of the issues are not recognized, I probably won’t buy an expansion either.

Sadly it is the lack of any word from Arena Net that has me the most worried

I feel the best Christmas gift from Anet would be a performance patch. It has been 3 months or so and we haven’t seen any performance patches since launch.
Is anet still actively working on performance gains? The community as a whole has not heard a single peep from devs regarding performance issues since the Q&A.

Sooo I just finished lvl 6 and killed the big boss at the end. I opened the end chest and lo to my surprise I got a charged loadstone! I was excited, best drop I have ever gotten in GW2 ever. I leave the level. Go Repair. Go on the TP, realize my inventory is full and the loadstone is gone.

For the love of god please fix this, I am not going to look every 5 min to check my inventory to see if its full or not before i open a chest.

+1 for letting people back into fractal zones. I am really sick of being at a boss and getting dc.

I haven’t had an issue with any of the fractals for performance.

MrDmajor actually with supersampling and SweetFX they are pretty darn close imo

After the fiasco that was The Lost Shores, any technical patch would be appreciated.

Strangely it seems that Anet has been very silent on the myriad of complaints regarding WvW and Zerg events that bring powerful computers to their knees.

I don’t think that there will ever be a DX11 patch for this game, but I do hold out hope that someday the massive battles will play out as they were intended.

With everything cranked(including supersampling and a certain 3rd party fx filter) the game looks stunning. I have lowered my settings to as low as they will go(even subsampling) and there is 0% performance difference in massive battles.

CPU based games are fine as long as the content reflects this. Having massive battles with tons of people firing off spells and skills is great if the code/servers can handle it. Currently it seems that it cannot.

3 hours of Lost Coast end event battle at 5-20 fps is not fun. When you can’t use skills, Invisibaddies kill instantaneously, and some people getting disconnected there is a blatant issue that this company cannot and should not ignore any longer.

I think that this game needs a performance update immediately before more people leave the game for greener pastures.

Go look at the GW2 facebook page regarding how bad the event was from a performance standpoint and tell me if I am wrong.

Closing off a dungeon to people who dont have 50 gold is ridiculous. Period.

Can anyone answer if Ascended items with inscriptions to counter agony is required for lvl 10+ FotM? Because if so that is an elitist stance form Anet that I cannot fathom.

Currently it would cost most people about 50 ish gold to get a ascended gear with the inscription slot.

I have been getting kicked out of Fractals and I cannot rejoin my party. Very annoying as it has happend two times today already. I agree there needs to be a rejoin function for Fractals.

GW2 is a fantastic game. I do like it alot and it has some great features in it. WvW being a very cool feature and fun idea.

The main issue is that most(if not all) the community are having issues with performance. Especially in WvW, Dragon events and large zergs.

Will there ever(hopefully soon!) be a performance update to the client?

I didnt buy GW2 for WvW. I have gotten the entire map to 100% with the exception of WvW. For the love of god separate them! When I will be in WvW it wont be to hold fort whatever it will be to complete the map and thus I am taking up a spot that someone would like to use for WvW.
Why not also make SPvP vistas and poi as well…

That is really odd. Maybe try using a static mac addressed internal ip in your network. Also maybe try using google DNS. Did you check the logfiles on the router(s) and check to see what the issues were?

Lets all just hope that there is an optimization patch in the works.

That has happend to me tons of times with my mesmer. It usually happens after I shatter a clone. Very annoying though to say the least.

The main issue is that people with i5 and i7 oc are having bad frames in wvw. Why make a game that is zerg prevalent and thus bottlenecking even modern cpu’s that are oc?
My GTX 680 oc windforce is running the game no problem, even with supersampling. I have tried WvW and large events with SSampling off and the GPU is irrelevant.

The issue is if I want to buy something other than BL Chests, it is now a ridiculous price for that item using in game gold. This basically forces the user to use Paypal or Visa to get the item they want, be it fine transmutation stones, boxing gloves or Karma boosters. The philosophy of Anet letting people use ingame gold for gems is starting to come into question. Lets hope this is inadvertent because if not then it goes DIRECTLY against their mandate.

Same issue. Turned off the game and decided to watch a Halloween movie.

Agreed, I left LA and a 10 min load time to find him not even in the zone. Our server believes he is in the area in the personal story that you can only get into once.

If that is the case then for the love of god noone try to zone out somewhere lol

I cannot play the game as it constantly loads whatever zone my guys are in(yes all of them).
This occurred directly after the Halloween patch.

Actually I am pretty impressed with the speed of their patch servers considering how many people are downloading.

Big update. speed is varied from 3mb-200kbps on a 100mb line.

0 response from anet regarding performance issues which are partially gamebreaking. I would love to play WvW but not at 7fps. It isnt my system. It is this unoptimized engine.

Awesome foresight to have a game that has massive battles raging on at 7fps.

Even stock i5 and i7 are still having performance issues. They need to start optimizing their engine.

Will there ever be optimizations for this game?

Buying a new i5 or i7 and immediately having to overclock the processor to play GW2 shows how POORLY this game is optimized.

Get your act together ANET and start fixing performance issues.

It would really be nice to get a straight answer from Anet regarding AA Injectors…..
I dont want to risk my account being banned for using a graphics mod that makes the game look better than the dev’s.
