Actually your CPU will most likely get close to 100%. Since there is no i3 1115 I am going to guess that it is a 2125 maybe.
They have a max TDP of 65W.
What make is the PSU. Some lower end PSU’s are not rated correctly, especially on the 12v rails. 7770 requires 400W+ alone depending on the model, not to mention all of your other components.
I will bet you a mug of norn ale that it is your PSU not giving you enough juice.
GW2 is a power pig, I had to replace my old 650W and upgrade to a 750W PSU since I was having the same issues(I had overclocked as well ^^).
(edited by Stormcrow.7513)
With an i5 3570k and a gtx 670 you should be ok. GW2 is overly CPU dependent and, as such likes raw CPU clocks. Try to get a good aftermarket cooler for your CPU and overclock, you will get much better frames in zergs.
I was being sarcastic ^^
The lag is terrible and that is why I haven’t WvW’d in ages.
It could be a “event41” error.
Click Start, Run and type eventvwr.msc
Select Application entry in the left pane
In the right-pane, look for the Error entry denoted by a Red X

What mouse do you use?
It could be other software that is running in the background that is causing the game to do this.
Maybe goes to the devs? :P
The lag is still pretty bad but you get used to it.

If you are having problems running Guild Wars 2, the data archive may have become corrupted. Please follow these steps to verify and repair the archive:
Locate your Gw2.exe file.
Right-click on the file and select Create shortcut.
Rename this new shortcut to Guild Wars 2 Repair.
Right-click on Guild Wars 2 Repair and select Properties.
Locate the Target line and add -repair to the end.
Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\gw2.exe” -repair
Click OK.
Double-clicking Guild Wars 2 Repair will begin the repair process. The game will launch when it is complete.
Note: Keep in mind that the verification and repair process will run each time you double-click the Guild Wars 2 Repair shortcut. If you would like to play the game immediately without repairing the archive, double-click on Gw2.exe or another shortcut without the -repair command.
Full system specs including PSU would help alot
Imperix the sound issue is a well known bug in gw2. Try putting your audio settings to default and see how that goes.
10 gold and a tankard of norn ale says it is your power supply
Seriously though, looks like the out of memory problem with the 32bit OS.
Physical: 791MB/ 3063MB 25%
I could be wrong tho
Gw2 is a CPU pig. It will use quite a bit of power. Is your pc overclocked?
Dd you run prime95 with your oc?
Check your event log for errors. It will tell you if it was power. Most likely your psu.
Get the Gigabyte windforce.
alpha feels like alpha
This deserves a bump because it is getting ridiculous!
The performance of this game is bad enough(* ie still feels like alpha), and we still have to endure a pathetic targeting issue which has over 8 pages, 11514 views and still no response from Anet for over 7 months.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I am getting really frustrated with this official forum not answering it’s playerbase.
The servers are very laggy on anets end, thus the maintenance. I am having lag as well. I am sure that it will be ok after Anet sorts things out.
Glad it worked for you
I use Afterburner and have never had an issue with it in GW2. I use vector 3d though so maybe that might be the problem.
I think that it is a known ATI issue. Maybe disable the AA within the CCC and use the ingame AA settings. Try to disable AO as well and see if that helps at all. I don’t use a ATI card right now so I can’t test it on my machine.
Are the ports in your router forwarded for GW2?
With that setup you should not be lagging at all. On the other hand there has been some known server side lag that Anet is currently trying to rectify.
Does the issue occur with other games as well?
Fatal disk-error (23) on read
This means there are some bad sectors on your HDD.
You can try this and see if it helps

Your processor is a Intel® Core™ i7-2720QM CPU @ 2.20GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
This CPU will turbo up to 3Ghz for 3 cores.
GW2 is very very CPU intensive and you will encounter drops in fps during certain events or areas in the game.
That being said, I would make sure that you have no other applications eating your CPU resources when you play the game. Make sure that you also have good ventilation for your laptop. Hot CPU’s will throttle.
I would re-install the graphics driver and make sure that your temps are within operating parameters.
TY for the prompt and honest response!!!!
:)
They had one during the Karka event fail but I dont know if they have plans to introduce another one.
The worst part is that it has been 5 months since Gayle mentioned anything about. I know that the devs read these forums, and so they should, but it is disappointing that there has not been a peep about what I feel is a game breaking issue.
They can add SAB and other content all they want but until the core mechanics are fixed, to me this is a broken game.
Try disabling triple buffering from the CCC if you can, that might help.
System shutdowns can be caused by power failures as well. What is your PSU? GW2 is redonkulously CPU bound and as such, draws more power to the CPU than most other applications.
One thing that you can do is look in the event viewer log and see what the errors are after the crash.
The lack of polish that GW2 was, at first understandable 6 months ago when the game was new but it hasn’t changed at all!
There are glaring lack of polish issues that make the game feel pretty much the same as it was since beta(I am looking you right in the eye Jorlag!).
I love GW2 but the lack of polish has made me and my visa look for bigger and better things.
Perhaps someday right click targeting toggle will be fixed. I know that after 7 months one can only hope.
You can try this as well it does work for some people
Delete the File ’Documents\Guild Wars 2\local.dat
Try updating your display drivers. I know that there have been many many reports of this lately since the last patch. I personally haven’t had any crashes but I get the feeling that the last patch affected systems with certain configurations.
I suggest trying to repair the client.

I haven’t had any issues with that driver at all.
Please list your system specifications so we can assist you in your problem
Without that information you should check your temperatures and make sure that your CPU and/or GPU are not overheating. Check your system for dust and make sure that there is adequate airflow.
It has been far far too long since gayle said anything about this issue. It is not that difficult of a toggle to implement! This should be bumped daily until it gets fixed.
Try to set your audio settings ingame to the default settings. There is a known audio bug with the game that sadly has not been fixed yet.
Agreed, I didn’t notice a huge difference going from my 6950(unlocked oc 6970) to a gtx 680 oc oc.
I will probably not get another card until the 880 series if there is one.
Those titans are sweet but they are just too much money.
560ti upgraded tho would make a difference since it would struggle with newer titles.
Why would you run a 3770k at stock :O
Srsly tho it doesnt really matter what you have, the lag in wvw because of culling it just terrible.
Anet took the culling problem and tossed it onto the user instead of fixing the issue.
GW2 is very CPU dependent. Most would say overly so.
The big piece that you should upgrade is CPU/Motherboard and your ram.
i5 3570k and i73770k with an aftermarket cooler overclocked to 4.5ghz would be your best bet.
In WvW graphics really are not the imperative so you could keep your current video card if you dont want to spend extra money. An SSD would help load times and OS boot speeds but isnt valuable in a WvW situation really.
As solar said your not only going to save yourself money by building it yourself but you will get high end components usually.
I good idea if your squeamish about self building is to get a barebones system and put the parts that you feel comfortable with in yourself.
Depending on your area there should be many companies that offer barebones systems.
I will never go back to running my os and a few games without an SSD.
i5 3570k is the way to go. GW2 isn’t overly demanding on GPU’s so your 7800 series or even a GTX 660ti is more than enough really.
The one thing I would absolutely recommend is a getting a good PSU. 80+Bronze or better is essential and as Solar said try to aim for 600w+.
Agreed
12char
If your getting a new PSU, I would recommend that you get a 80+ bronze or higher model.
Like Ilithis said, Corsair is a good make. Personally I love XFX’s models of PSU .

I find that it is always good to have more power than you need.
A great little tool to help you get an idea of what your system would require:

I have used everest before, great piece of software.
Try to use memtest and see if you might have a bad stick.
The good news is that if it is the RAM your probably going to have an easy RMA or return for it.
Jigain try resetting your overclocks to stock and see how that goes. I know it sucks but GW2 seems to be finicky with OC’s.
The Thief scenario could be related to the zone or area your toon is in. I find some areas are higher demanding than others.
Do you have MSI afterburner installed? Do you use HWinfo for cpu temps?
Hard shutdowns are generally associated to the PSU. Did you run Memtest to see if you had a bad stick?
Noticed PVE culling today with mobs in Orr. Not sure if it is worse now or just my viewpoint.
Game is getting hard to play with the lag and culling issues, not to mention I am constantly checking my CPU temps as much as I am the game itself…
GW2 is very CPU intensive. I would make sure that your CPU and GPU are not overheating. Check for dust etc… and use a program like MSI Afterburner to monitor your temperatures ingame.
Laptops are not very good for playing video games unless you want to spend a lot of money.
i5 3570k with a good aftermarket cooler that will allow you to overclock is a good starting point.
