I raged. I’m bad enough at regular jumping puzzles, let alone one thats timed… =/
A sign that you should give up and go away: when you’re consistently among the first of any group of people to fall down and die. (that would be me.) Looks like fun really is subjective.
Very happy that this won’t count towards the Emissary title.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Can we have an actuall list of which ones count and how to get them?
Right now we have:
1) Halloween hunting -kill the stuff that comes out of the portals (candy corn elementals, plastic spiders, mummys, skeletons etc)
2) Trick or treat (open 100 ToT bags)
3) Halloween events ….??? what are these?
4) Attend the party…..??
5) Mad king’s realm ….??
those that do not count:
pumpkin carving
mad kings clock tower
Someone help me out here.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
After I enter all my details and hit confirm, I get faced with this error screen:
anyone else getting this or is it just me?
:(
-NaughtyProwler.8653
If so, then it’s very likely a bug.. report it as such. No need for argument.
Gonna check this out and see if its true.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Bad memories of being PKed and one shotted in other MMOs by kitten with ebayed gear. Not to mention the elitism that comes with it..
Please keep that sort of thing as far away from me as possible. The traditional gear grind really makes for a toxic gaming environment.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Maybe you were just low on hp? For some annoying reason, if you are at 25% or lower the mobs(regardless of what kind) will chase you to the ends of tyria. Healing up solves the problem.
Personally I find the purifiers to be more annoying.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
The answer is No.
12chars.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Honestly I don’t think either story mode or exp mode dungeons are fun at all, just tedious and unrewarding. Boss fights are too long, drops are poor, mobs have too much hp, etc.. even figuring out the boss mechanic (and learning the tricks to beating them) gets old fast cause then you have to keep hitting them for a very… disproportionately long time.
Anyway, once I’ve completed a dungeon, I feel zero desire to do it again. Sorry. It’s not a matter of “toohard!!!” or “L2p lololol”. I just don’t enjoy it. And I’m not sure what can be done about that either, except maybe a complete rehaul of the system.
Also, if “most of the playerbase” dislikes dungeon running, then its only logical to presume that the problem does not lie within the players, but within something else.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Indeed, us vertically challenged individuals need some form of compensation!
Speaking of which, does anyone know which is the biggest, most onstentatious looking GS skin? Or at least one thats doesn’t turn out like a silly little butterknife anyway.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
They do indeed appear to be a race of violent, lawless little sociopaths. Assassination, theft and murder seems to be par for the course, gauging from what I have seen in the early stages of my personal story. (and to think she looked so cute… fooling bookahs before coming in for the kill.)
That said, I always lol whenever their “genius” backfires on them. I am often tempted to just stand by idly and let them get suffer the consequences. Eg. the dude who injects a raptor with growth hormone, the one who gets attacked by an enormous breeze rider.. and my personal favourite… the one who gets kidnapped by an infatuated harpy matriach. ba ha ha ha. enjoy your new life together.

Then ask them to wait for you. It’s what we do when a guildie has to afk for whatever reason. Take a break, let the DR wear off or whatever. It’s a minor inconvenience that does not warrant the introduction of a potentially easily abused feature.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Honestly my number one complaint about dungeons in general is that mobs have way too much hp. Instead of a bajillion trash mobs with plenty of loot (Urgoz, Deeps, DoA, Slavers etc), now we have few mobs but each with a bajillion hp. I really don’t enjoy spending 10-20 minutes whittling down a boss with a bloated hp pool, and even trash mobs take too long to kill.
Spamming skills for ages waiting for a mob to die. It’s just. not. fun.
Someone mentioned DoA earlier. DoA mobs hit hard, but they never had such big hp pools, not even the bosses.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
We already have some zones that are dead and some zones that are overpopulated. Adding HM zones can only result in A) even more imbalanced zone populations and
People either jumping ship, leaving “normal” zones deader than before or C) people avoiding HM zones because of difficulty, leaving those empty.
Just so you know, HM dungeons would attract me even LESS….

actually the filler npcs have some amusing conversations. i like to just stand around in town and listen to what everyone is saying.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
I would like pets to show up in my housing instance
Like cats and dogs. And more friendly npcs from my personal story. Right now my home instance doesnt feel like home. allowing some customization would be nice. eg. furniture and decors.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
auto lazy mode? no. if you afk, you should be left behind. if you have chores to do in real life, maybe its time to power off that pc and do something that you ought to be doing instead.
also no because it would facilitate botting.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
i think he’s asking why botting is so much more rampant in GW2 than in the previous game…
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Balance in pvp has always been one of Anets keystone philosophies, starting all the way from the conception of the original Guild wars. It has also been one of the their major selling points, setting the series apart from other run of the mill MMO grinders. There is no reason that this is going to change now.
Just so you know, it is not a flaw. It is intentional. Guild wars is not every other MMO, and I appreciate that.

Deep sea dragon, so that i can visit more quaggan cities/villages.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
I agree that the soulbound mechanic is ridiculously excessive. soulbound harvesting tools, why? and so many gears are soulbound, they leave me no choice but to destroy them once i’ve outlevelled them. I dont understand why so many materials are account bound either, I don’t know how making stuff like peaches or pears tradable would undermine the economy, but then again I never studied economics so…
-NaughtyProwler.8653
I am very pleased that there is no gear based advantage. Please never change.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
I encountered a naked, headless NPC in the Victory or Death instance, right after trahearne does his cleansing orr ritual. I was not sure whether to be horrified or amused.
the npc’s name is Crewman Rhisiart. Perhaps we ought to increase the rating on this game?
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Sometimes If I’m using churning earth, and if I get immobilized during the cast, I get stuck in the location where I cast it and cannot move; the only way is to teleport out.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
At this moment on Tarnished coast server:
Tactician Footi is bugged (she is nowhere in sight and the undead waves keep coming endlessly) People are congregating there farming the infinite mobs.
Scholar Didi sometimes bugs (the risen waves stop coming after wave 1 or 2)
Help the pact seize the promenade steps – had this bug several times in a row. The bar for Risen culled stops at about 90% and won’t progress even if the platform is clear.
and people are always exploiting the Grenth Temple event, deliberately killing Jonez Deadrun so that the quest restarts and they can farm the mobs repeatedly. (this one is currently bugged because the prior events- tactician footi+ defend the pact lightning cannon cannot progress.)

My experiences so far have been that they are time sinks, provide crap loot, have mobs with overly bloated hp pools…especially the bosses. i did only for the experience since i absolutely have to get a feel of every part of the game /sarcasm.
they are for masochists only imo…
even slavers exile/realm of torment HM was more fun..
-NaughtyProwler.8653
all… the insane hp pools of the mobs are not fun. just extremely tedious. id rather have more trash mobs but with lower hp.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Subject alpha. worst boss ever. its not so much the Aoe spam, the annoying crystals, but the astronomical HP pool. The only reason I didn’t rage was because I was with a guild team and it would seem like bad manners. never doing COE ever again.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Terribad idea is bad. Zhed would stomp you into the dust for having the audacity to suggest such a thing.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Because its another one of those ridiculous features thats annoys legit players more the gold spammers it was intended to suppress. How does only 3 lines of text constitute spamming? I mean, seriously…
I know what you mean lol, sometimes when I’m fooling around and saying silly things I get suppressed too.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Dhuum only comes back when he’s needed. Like during mass botting epidemics. We must pray harder and make offerings of blood and plant sap.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
countdown to thread closure 5…4…3…
but seriously anet these threads arent going to stop popping up until you break your silence on this issue.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Personally i think some of the “noob” skins look miles better than the high end stuff. I looked through the dungeon armors and could not find any that I like. so.. no dungeon grinding for me.
Dislike= spikes, glowing nonsense, random protrusions coming out of nowhere..that sort of thing. they’re not “kitten”, just ugly. dislike stuff thats overextravagant or foppish looking too..
probably gonna run with one of the lower tier skins and transmute it.. in GW i used the noob looking basic armors too so..no surprise there.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Yes. it’s bad. If you’ve ever seen a zerg/karma train you’ll know how annoying this is.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Yes please, I would like to have an option to tone down the FX. During highly populated events I seriously can’t see kitten because of all the spam.. I can’t tell what I’m attacking and it hurts my eyes.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
ty for the explanation.. but they really should bring back the old target calling system imo.
its hard to identify targets with all the FX spam and narrow FoV.. esp if you’re in a dark dungeon with narrow corridors…
-NaughtyProwler.8653
I don’t know if this is the appropriate thread, but when I’m inside narrow passages or corridors the camera angle is extremely awkward, esp in places with narrow ceiling, like dungeons.. it zooms in so close that i cant see what im attacking..
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Sometimes when I cntrl+click on a target it says “You have called target on X” and the target sign appears, but most of the time when I do it nothing happens. Why is this? Is there a cooldown on the frequency with which you can ping targets?
am assuming that you cannot ping on the mini-map anymore either?
sorry am too used to the original guild wars system
-NaughtyProwler.8653
is anyone else getting this or is it just me? i’ve d/ced so many times this afternoon its not funny. now i keep getting “lost connection” within a few seconds of logging and my entire skillbar flashes. totally unplayable now..
oceania region here (singapore)
-NaughtyProwler.8653
yeah, same thing happened to me. after the lord gives his little speech and walks away i cant open the 2nd door
-NaughtyProwler.8653
I agree that this invuln thing needs to go. There is no good reason for red mobs to go invuln unless it is the effect of a skill.
You know what really kills me..? once i stood on a cliff and tried to nuke some risen below me, but they were invuln and took no dmg.
….then a zombie pulled me off the cliff.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Yes, please. this is bad.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
It’s the abundance of ranger bots that’s swaying my decision not to make one. (sadly, cause i enjoy the concept. still dithering about what class my next char should be.)
regarding the botting, i’d gladly go around actively reporting and bot-hunting if I knew that such actions would have viable results, but right now i’m not so sure that anything actually comes of it.
at least when i reported bots in GW, i got responses from GMs such as “hi, we have banned 4 out of the 6 bots you reported” or something to that effect. Now I don’t even get that.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
This is why i dont use chain lightning in areas filled with yellow mobs.
I would like to see raptors hunting in packs too, like in GW, so that you actually have to make a tactical decision whether to confront or avoid them.
Also would like to see yellow mobs scatter when hit by aoe, not run after you baying for blood.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Tequila… i hope that was intentional. So far I found that the only one who puts up the slightest bit of a challenge is the Claw, (the 10000 mobs that he summons are a bit tedious though) the rest just stand rooted to the spot so that you can whack them leisurely like big pinatas.
actually i think that if you took a drake champion, scaled it up a few dozen times, gave it accordingly huge hp, dmg, faster move and attack speed.. now that would be a dragon worth fighting..
-NaughtyProwler.8653
that’s been my experience too. personally i hate how difficult it is to navigate the terrain. you literally have to run circles around obstacles to get anywhere, while dodging zombies left right and center.. and dont even get me started on the contested wps.. ugh
-NaughtyProwler.8653
I hate grind, so no.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
Lets just say that the wild life of tyria appears to have zero self preservation instinct. Like moas that walk stupidly into aoe, then decide that they must battle with you to the death. the density of wolves/bears/jaguars is quite silly too, irl you never see that many predators packed into one area like sardines, nor do they always attack on sight…
-NaughtyProwler.8653
go to sea of sorrows, tons of people power-farming karma in straits of devastation. far too many in fact, just farming the same few events over and over like mindless drones.
i hate all the orr zones btw. badly designed maps with annoying mobs.
-NaughtyProwler.8653
At first when i saw the title i was like “yeah right”
…then I saw the enormous merlion statue in LA.
you might be on to something.
