I highly suspect our bone fiend, minions and fiend are undeads too, undead devourer, wind rider and ummm undead pikachus? XD
Afaik dagger build is top dps if you are capping vuln and might from others but DS is better if you lack vuln/might.
Yup. I run mostly with bad pugs and I’ve noticed a better perfomance after swapping to DS build, apart from that it’s so satisfying to actually have more complex rotation where you actually have to look at cooldowns etc

yeah you get me wrong… I’m not sayin I wasn’t meele or I can’t dodge, All I’m sayin that I often only meele in random party, so I’m forced to use ranged weapon because my build is not tanky, to not die as only target for a boss
When I pug and they range, I still melee and live. Except mossman, where I basically always play it safe. Bosses usually cleave/aoe so it doesn’t matter how many people stand at him – everyone has to dodge anyway. I don’t range lupicus if pugs in my party do.

Gw2 already has useful skills that could fit necro perfectly.
Toxic Krait feedback is basically mesmer feedback but looks pretty deathly.
Lupicus bubble is another example.
As for blast finishers, I still think marks should be detonable. Axe 3, Warhorn 4 are great candidates. And for a “bot” role, ANet could tweak signet of undeath to ressurect defeated people as a necro-exception-cheater-of-death role xD

You release your locusts, swap to gs and close distance with the mobility skill all greatswords have. Do a gs rotation to hopefully blast firefields and spread tons of vulnerability, and swap back to dagger to dps the enemy down. It’s the mechanic I think would work best.
Warhorn isnt as strong as focus. You would probably start with GS + D/W and cast locust swarm before getting in combat. Then swap out the warhorn for the focus and engage.
for more tryhard also 3 marks from staff before combat!

I wouldnt recommend listening to the other posts. another great tip for you would be to slot bloodlust sigils in all of your weapons (and air, you can have 2 sigils per weapon set, so for example if you use dagger, warhorn and focus, slot bloodlust sigil on your dagger, and give air sigils for the offhands (you dont need 2 daggers) it helps with leveling. stat priority is power>precision>ferocity (on lvl 80 you want assassin armor pieces and berserker weapons and trinkets, runes of scholar, saying in advance). necromancer has biggest hp pool in the game so don’t worry about soaking damage, especially in open world pve where mobs are weak, though it would help you to dodge their attacks even if they do nothing – this will make you ready for high level content, reflexes etc. dodging is most important later on.
at 80 lvl sigils change to force sigil + night/undead slaying/justice/frailty/energy sigils

in fact they are almost everywhere bottom tier. even in wvw roaming I can’t escape a fight from basically everyone. every class has leaps or ‘blinks’. our only blink skill has 1 sec cast time, gg. supposedly i should stay and destroy everyone on my path while being an immobile class, too bad I have no stability/dodgeskills/blocks/invuln. 10/10 for design
I liked it more when we had our own Death Shroud UI, looked so cool. ANet could reimplement it and leave greyed/desaturated skill bar which we can’t use in DS.

I disagree with OP, imo autoattacking mobs to death it’s tremendously boring, I’d like normal mobs to force me to fight for my life. I like it harder, the combat system allows for great action and its wasted by autoattacking.
i would rage if anet would do sth like this. map completion should be time-consuming

But…. it’s not like the necro has any better options than signet of spite and you’re still bound to use your weapon autoattacks every so often.

You’re supposed to all go DS build 62006 if you want the most optimal speedrun with 5 necros (i might be wrong here)

We had one before. It was so problematic that players demanded changes. Party leader the way it was before just gave the leader the ability to grief and kick everyone.
i play since beta and believe me we didnt have party leader system.
gw1 had party leader, though it wasnt advanced system cause game didnt need it. in gw2 i would rather see advanced party leader system – with afk check and automatic party leader distribution if leader is afk

Because you know, I can understand that it’s a boss and it has to be more resistant, but when I break the resistance, I want to have a choice of how to control him. And that’s what we have now.
I don’t like the new defiance. If it’s true and it doesn’t let us decide whether we want to launch/pull/fear/stun etc then it’s just a broken immersion. Let’s say some people break the bar and last hit to break the defiance is guardian hammer Banish. now imagine the effect of this Banish isn’t an awesome flying bag of meat/plant/whatever, but a predetermined effect like interrupt or stun.

Err… actually Vizu is the most Legendary Thief. She backstabbed Shiro.
To be fair, even though she killed Shiro it was his scream that made the Jade Sea turn to Jade. Also there’s Echovald Forest. Long after her death his still had an effect on the world, and still (presumably) does.
you’re making some lore mistakes.
1) she didnt kill him, she disarmed him and made him vulnerable. he was killed by archemorus and saint viktor with his own blades
2) it wasn’t HIS scream/power. it was just unleashed dwayna energy (most likely corrupted by abaddon) that he absorbed from emperor when he assassinated him (the energy was given to the emperor at the Harvest Ceremony and you can see the whole process on gw factions trailer)
Spectral skills have very little use in PvE as lifeforce is easy to come by. The only reason to use them is if you need swiftness from spectral walk or a stunbreak.
I love spectral walk when doing puzzles
