I just realised that in fact, using the spectral walk is pointless. In the end I get the same effect I would get if I would just use wurm to teleport 1200 units forward with full hp and full DS ready.

In my opinion, the fact that sylvari are dragon minions is interesting and unlike Konig, I believe it had some support – especially the theory about Ronan and Ventari influence on Pale Tree, her later support by blocking some part of Sylvari’s minds. It also makes sense why the Soundless were most affected after Mordy awoke. Also, dragon minion attributes change depending on the dragon (destroyers generally do not think, unlike icebrood or risen). I believe that Pale Tree will have a “moment of truth” with us in the future.

What I utterly hate however, is all the Divine Fire nonsense… really immersion breaking. I also didn’t like how Ogden belittled the Human Gods in his dialogues. I hated the crystal-desert-missions-wanna-be, and pretending we have obtained the fire of the human gods just by summoning an Echo (echo! not even a real ghost) of Turai. I really wanted one day to visit Throne of Pellentia once, or fight my Doppleganger, but in Crystal Desert :/

It felt like we got Divine Fire in reward from Turai – a miserable failer, who did not ascend. We should obtain the Divine Fire from the gods themselves – in Crystal Desert. This is so bad. Even worse than setting a casual portal to Glint’s Lair for plot convenience.

Rising Dusk: Ok, so I happened to be in lvl 1 fotm and tried it, Idk how would it look like in lvl 49. The 1200 distance of wurm is so short and you talked about the “first run” like it was long and needed full death shroud for it. I’d say the first run is 2 dodges and a little walk for the total distance or 3 dodges (or just do 3 dodges proccing energy sigil). The 1200 distance ends exactly where I used spectral walk on the video. You don’t have to use DS at all to get there. And with spectral attunement you heal completely so you can save all death shroud for second run. No idea how would that work in 49 though. I had 06422 here.

Yeah you can solo the heat room by doing the following:

  • Set your bar to full minions + Wurm + Spectral Walk
  • Wurm at the entrance before you start
  • Run in with a full Death Shroud bar
  • Faceroll and get as far as you can
  • Activate Spectral Walk
  • Blow up your Wurm to teleport to the beginning
  • Activate and blow up the rest of your minions for DS
  • Heal up as much as you can until 1s is left on Spectral Recall’s timer
  • Activate Spectral Recall
  • Run the rest of the way with the DS you built from blowing minions

It’s tricky and requires a lot of steps, but is doable.

Thanks for the steps, but I have some questions.
a) Wurm teleport has only 1200 range. What if I teleport back but not outside the heat room?
b) Should I use healing skill at first run or at second?
c) What fractal levels does it work for and do I need cooling rods?

to get past the ooze part you need like 3 guard + 2 mesmer or get really lucky.

I can see it’s l2p issue. I duoed, trioed the puzzle numerous times, and even soloed on mesmer. I don’t think ANet should change this just because people can’t do this. Games shouldn’t be adjusted to level of the players – the players should adjust to the level of difficulty. Why people aren’t doing aether is only because the reward for completing this rather “hard” and long dungeon is almost like doing ac p1.

If I build for condition damage in PvE rather than power, I run minions along with scepter because scepter is slow to build dps and putrid explosion benefits from condition damage. Not much else besides scepter does; not wells, not dagger, not axe, not minions, not spectral, not signets, not a lot of things.

Conditions that do benefit are
Bleed
burning
poison
fear
torment

Of those, Necro has most dps from bleed.
I use minions to jump-start dps while scepter spools up. Taking putrid explosion is optional, though. TotM or Vamp Minions are legit for casual PvE, too.

What. Minions for condition dmg necro (berserker necro too) are subpar and dps loss (except golem and the healing one ofc). I find them useful only for hard bosses solo, when you have to get more hp via minions lifestealing. You deal less dps if trying to do “zerker” damage at the beginning, when conditions are building up. You deal more damage if you buff your condition damage to maximum and let it grow. It doesn’t matter that in the first 10 secs you deal low cond dmg – it’s the nature of conditions after all

For warrior, it’s like 99% RNG now because our F1 skills are still bugged since Sept 9th.

I’ll explain the rotation:

1. Cyclone axe (axe #2)
2. Swap weapons to GS
3. Hundred blades (gs #2)
4. Rush (gs #5)
5. Whirlwind but interrupt it half way through with a weapon swap
6. Cyclone axe (axe #2)
7. Crushing blow (mace #4)
8. Eviscarate (axe F1)

This is the absolute best way to ensure you are pushing as close to the phase mark before the eviscarate. In order for it to work, you need to be using the traits 65003 and it is absolutely necessary for you to use arms V, because you need good luck on the eviscarate so as much vuln as you can hopefully build.

Start the fight on full adrenaline. If you have failed right beforehand there should be grubs surrounding the terminal. Wait there until they hit you enough to get full adrenaline before starting.

If you have no bloodlust, then the eviscarate must hit an absolute bare minimum of ~160k otherwise you won’t succeed. Almost any time that I succeed my eviscarate hits in the area of 165-175k, highest I have hit since the nerfs was 189k. It’s all luck.

Sometimes you hit too much damage before the eviscarate, because this rotation is specifically for pushing your luck as far as you can go (otherwise you won’t succeed). You will know if you should reset if your hundred blades hit anything significantly above 330-340k, because that means you won’t get to use your cyclone axe + crushing blow before the eviscarate, which are both very important because you want as much vuln built up as possible.

I know it sounds like a pain in the kitten , but soloing Brie on a warrior is actually annoying as hell now. It used to be fine, but maybe when/if they fix our burst skills with the Berserker’s Power trait it’ll be okay again.

Anyways hope this helps.

This is a build for both team and solo dungeon/open world. Though if you think about team dungeon, this build is superior to berserker only in very bad pug that does not stack might.
Signet of vampirism with trait and rune gives you 6 might on use
Yes, the gear provides 0 toughness that you don’t need. In open world and dungeons you don’t survive facetanking even with toughness. You survive by dodging properly and disabling enemies. That’s why you can focus on max damage.
You’ve said you want THE BEST build, so here you have it. If you want to be optimal, you will have to change your gear.

But don’t throw it away! It looks like the gear you have now will do nicely in WvW roaming.

I will say, what bugs me isn’t so much the glitching, but the fact that people refuse to be open that they are going to do it. If people would simply put “WoR Lupi” or something like that I’d know to avoid that group, but now I just have to ask as soon as I enter and there is a guardian in the group.

I understand why people glitch things, but I simply don’t want to be a part of it when fighting Lupi is the main reason I run Arah.

If plan is to leave anyway you could always take Sigil of Paralyzation and interrupt Lupicus.

As a thief spamming headshot <3 Later on you interrupt p3 levitation and they dodge away anyway, so he spawns bubbles

Like I asked. I don’t know why. Dragon minions (icebrood) usually just seek to destroy the living (such as sons of svanir). Charr revering destroyers in GW1 didnt make them allied. It annoys me to run HotW and knowing they are all mixed between icebrood and sons of svanir (potion and sigils are different, why can’t anet just make “jormag minion slaying”).
I know that Jormag is all about corrupting minds, but shouldn’t the icebrood just immediately kill the living on sight and corrupt it, after the norns come to a trap?

Think about it – we have an interactive map with waypoints. If I would write a story I would make such map a real life thing. And I would make a bank-account system linked to the map, so the money doesn’t disappear MAGICALLY.

bursting and battle sigil
scepter and offhand dagger,
aristocracy runes.

traits:
signet mastery, reaper’s might, dhuumfire
hemophilia, master of corruption, lingering curse
path of midnight

skills:

signet of vampirism
signet of spite
locust signet
blood is power
flesh golem/mistfire wolf/take root/whatever makes conditions

rotation of attacks: is kinda easy, just spam dagger 5 and scepter 2 off cooldown, use death shroud autoattack once every 10 seconds, and death shroud #2 too. and tainted shackles (#5 ). outside of that just use autoattack from scepter and 3 to generate life force
place the scepter in one weapon set, and dagger in another weapon set. swap weapons on cooldown.
spam utilities on cooldown (you should transfer self-bleeding from blood is power via dagger #4) the healing signet should be spammed too if you’re not in danger

consumables
use food like veggie pizza and tuning crystals.

Mesmer is hard to fight her, as clones wont do any dmg. Take 66002 and fight until she teleports you – but just before that, spawn portal at the right side of the arena. Then after teleportation use WP to belka boss zone (remember u can’t be in combat!) and open portal. You can now use terminal again and finish her pretty fast with the dmg boost from terminal.
On an unrelated note, the same with necro – just before teleport, you can use spectral walk/spectral recall and do the same (except that you dont have to use wp).
You also need to know your best dps rotations and execute them.
Remember to use time warp after she hits 50% hp.

During the fight you can stack some might (mesmer torch 4, guardian focus 4, guardian fire field) with guardian and you can double his might by using inspiration signet.

Didn’t they do that on some bosses but we just figured out how to manipulate the AI to get them to stay put? Kholar moves, but we pin him in a corner. Hunter moves but only if you target him.

Not saying they can’t do better, just saying they did make an attempt.

My suggestions that wouldn’t break necro in PvP, but would fix him in PvE. Devs, please consider at least some of them.

- Horn4, Axe3, DS5, Dagger3 – blast finishers
- DS2 – velocity increased by 100%, change the projectile to leap finisher
- Siphoned Power trait – change functionality to Grants vigor on critical hits 10 sec cd
- Death Into Life trait – change functionality to +150 ferocity to allies around you
- Furious Demise trait and Blood Is Power skill – Boons also apply for allies
- Well of Power – increase stability duration to match the duration of the well. Also share the stability with every (5) ally inside the well.
- Well of Suffering – grants fury to every (5) ally inside the well.
- Well of Darkness – change field into smoke.
- Axe autoattack – more damage, aoe hit around target
- Corrosive Poison Cloud – blocks projectiles, remove the self-weakness and add self-torment instead
- Signet of Undeath – also resurrects defeated players. I feel like necromancer should be the only profession capable of doing that, making him special at last. (pve-exclusive)
- Flesh wurm – casting time reduced to 1/2 or 1/4 (1 second is too long for a mobility skill)
- Spectral armor – also grants stability

I agree horn should have a blast finisher, but you know, as I said. Necromancers are terrible enough in dungeons and not that terrible in wvw/pvp

I honestly dont know why axe isn’t 900 and dagger isn’t 600. But that said, horn 5 and axe 3 would be strong contenders for blast finishers.

You mean horn 4. I wouldn’t like blasting a smoke field to skip mobs, and then damage them and cripple = getting out of stealth lol :P

- Very low number of blast finishers (most of them unreliable anyway)
- Only blind field on 50 sec cd (except plague form but that means no dps)
- No special buffs (like +x attribute for allies around you in combat)
- Lack of projectile defense
- No fire or smoke fields
- Low raw damage
- No active defense skills like blocks or invulnerability
- No vigor from trait or skills (except well of power turning bleeds to vigor, this is also unreliable and waste of precious utility skills)
- Got a burst of vulnerability, but it comes with cooldowns unlike some other professions
- Doesn’t grant offensive boons to party
- Because of no vigor or block skills, has to use energy sigil for some bosses and losing % dmg modifier sigil (you can say that death shroud is necro’s block, but that’s rather incorrect, considering PvE is full of 1-shotting bosses)
- Worse boon stripping than mesmer (mesmer strips boons on autoattack, his clones too)
- Only cleaving weapon hits up to 2 targets (usually it’s 3)
- No escape/movement skills make him very difficult to skip mobs
- No stability except elite skills (well of power grants 1 second stability, good luck using that)

But you know, I play necro anyway. I just love the death theme.
