I agree with OP 100%. Lack of all the active defense is what makes my gameplay unbearable. I like to solo dungeons/bosses but what if there is an attack 1shotting and appearing quite consistently? I only have 2 dodges. I can’t negate a 1shot in any other way. Other classes can chain evade/block on low cooldowns.
why do these people even bother to create these threads with unrealistic and immersion breaking ideas.
loving all of this but gurl, not a rifle. hammer or axe offhand. or sword.
tbh i really like the theme, traits, skills and such. this is what we need – mobility, damage modifiers. this would fix power necro.
oh and the spec name should be Spectre / Specter

I want this too. Staff has so many great skins that I only ever get to see it when I go PvP for my seasonal Plat/Leggy badge. Which isn’t much since I usually only do the minimum req games. It would be nice if it had some use in PvE too since that seems to have become my main game mode in recent months.
But tbh, no offense to Anet, but I just don’t see them putting in the work to rework an an entire weapon set when they can simply change a single auto attack chain.
Anything to stop Scepter/Torch + Scepter/Dagger in raids from happening, man. I can’t go back to having basically no rotation like the old build after Condi GS. Like 800 LI gained on Necro almost exclusively and I’ll seriously drop Necro to play Engi in raids if it happens.
its not even just about the autoattack, the entire weapon is the least creative of all they’ve made. 4 the same looking skills and a generic autoattack projectile. i want spells and not 4 aoe traps.
i will gear scourge like this during tomorrow’s stress test to make sure its 100% viper. its possible maybe there will be 1 armor piece sinister, im not sure of that

Viper’s Nightmare/Trapper is not 100% guaranteed to be the best equipment set. It will work well, sure, but may not be meta after the 22nd. There are other options in contention and pure dps may not even be scourge’s raid meta.
i encourage you to show me different gear combo that will 100% cap the duration on burn, torment, bleed and poison while bringing the highest dps.
and no, scourge wont be anything else than pure dps class in raids. that one is beyond dispute
you use executioner’s scythe for dps rotation, not for CC wtf
imo they should make the devourer minion apply bleeding with the projectiles.
and fix the rigor mortis already because its extremely buggy, often times it just makes the minion confused and not do anything

you get about 8% from conversion, 10% from upkeeping 2 shades active (i dont know if you can upkeep 3 shades with perma alacrity, this would surely swap few viper pieces to sinister
ps. you do a lot of poison with CPC and scepter auto. since chill isn’t gonna be a thing that means minions are saying bye bye. suffer is saying bye bye. the next dps skill in line is CPC. the third skill will be epidemic or the sand trail thingy that makes burning.

“probably either”? i just told you what it will use. 100% viper gear with nightmare+trapper, malice and geomancy. that way you get 100% on burn, torment, poison, 120% bleed due to trait overcap.
this ofc accounts for the scourge expertise traits.

to add to this, its not only about dps or EA. scourge might share radius isn’t even half of the PS radius. its 240/180 with occasional 300 range. Even might blasting ele has better radius of 360.

That’s because it requires chill finishers, which will be overrided by both the chronos & tempests in your group.
no. thats not how it works. you can manipulate fields by movement. read about it.
The important thing to remember with Necromancer or Reaper is to not use fields. Use only finishers and use them on Fire fields as much as possible. Forget about Executioner’s Scythe unless you are specifically attacking a break bar.
wtf did i just read? no, thats not how reaper works. you need to cast the chill field for bleeds and then whirl in it.
all these recent cosmic npcs like the harbringer, skorvald, viirastra use a norn model so i would say it’s not an accident. i speculate they are some sort of elite norn group who traveled the mists and possibly lost their minds. also note that skorvald uses bifrost which has some mythology background that kinda fits here.
i dunno about you guys but i have a better chance staying alive with my necro then with my rev, let alone my engi…..
because you cant skillfully dodge or use the many blocks/invulns these classes have, that you need a big hp to facetank with? that doesn’t mean necro by itself is more survivable.
if you enable elite specs can you also allow us to use golem testing area in aerodrome?
these are all pretty weak and insignificant. it wouldn’t fix necro.
siphon damage wont always suck. it could be fixed by better scaling and allowing it to crit.
of course i want the hammer to be a melee weapon and not a ranged trash like on rev
I want next elite spec to use Hammer (will work with the new legendary and the fact hammer necro goes back to GW1).

i can’t show you on logs 100% uptime because many things aren’t taken into account on buff tables, such as phase switching, invulns, mechanics but if you see on a log 80%-ish you can assume you had about 100% during dpsing
ps. if phantasm has 6-8 seconds to move between attacks, i dont see the issue

nothing will change because most buffs are still for 5 ppl. the only thing that will happen is the dps slot will get expanded with more specs.
idk if renegade can pull off 100% alacrity uptime but assuming it does even then i dont think firebrand and renegade can replace chrono – cc, distorts. i dont think firebrand+renegade can outdps chrono+dps. we’ll see soon enough!
staff needs to be entirely reworked and i would love to see marks just removed and have some actual spells with distinct animations and effects.

Please let’s discuss this particular instability and how it encourages teamplay.
Gw2 was designed to make group play enjoyable (own gathering nodes, own loot, etc).
This instability however just lets anybody (on purpose or not) kitten me up and people don’t understand they need to be as stationary as possible and preferably dodge forward or backwards, not sideways. That and small boss hitboxes and the DPS rotations requiring standing inside of the hitbox make it even worse.
What are your thoughts?
ac p2, se p2, arah p2 are the paths with frequent progress blocking bug

I’m affraid not. Spamming them would probably prove to be more detrimental than anything else You’ll need to carefully wait a few second between each shade summon to maintain them or at least keep 2 of them with you for the whole fight duration.
i meant spamming twice. you need to spawn two and keep two spawned for stable 10% condi duration
what were you expecting, people started saying necro will never be good even when game was 2 years old and we were right all along. even our new elite spec is a nerf
how about continue developing shrouds for each elite spec and never again commit the same mistake that was done with scourge?

At the moment it is not possible to use any of the Scourge skills underwater.Good thing we’re going to a desert : D
the game doesn’t consist only of desert, there are underwater dungeon paths, fractal, open world regions. it’s scandal things like these are left out. level of unprofessionalism, far too much

Remember warrior got a lame torch last expansion.
thats not a reason to repeat mistakes. + warrior didnt get any mechanic removed, only added.

3. Transmutation Charges
4. Hero Challenge unlocks like in WvW
5. Acc Bound t6 food
6. New minis
7. Fun bundle items (like, recently we got some for cats in home instance, it would be cool to get more fun bundles like deployable jump pad etc)
8. new rewards such as gliders, mail carriers, outfits, armor, weapon skins, mount skins
there is no way anything else than scepter/dagger + torch will be viable on scourge. (pve)
power, as bad as it is will still be better on reaper.
kinda unfair that warrior gets 2 weapons while scourge not only has shroud taken away but also we only get a torch…\
i think anet should at least rework staff to make it good in pve. just keep the condi transfer on one of the skills for BiP rotation.
we should’ve gotten ammo on BiP, some healing skill, suffer shout, CPC
i hope someone takes over bgdm and develops it with compliance, bgdm is so much better than arc. stylish, user friendly and just generally more intuitive.
