I don’t understand where the 40-60g per 2hrs comes out from. Illconceived Was Na.9781 calculated about 7g per 30minutes which is 28g, speed run I assume, a big difference between 28 and 40.

Edit: Incase people forgotten, dungeon was nerfed in favor of raid.

1. It comes from experience. What Illconceived said isn’t entirely complete.
Aetherpath gives you a daily guaranteed skin that can sell from few gold up to 20g.
SE gives MUCH more champion bags. And you also drop lodestones and rares which Illconceived didn’t even mention. “few blues and greens” is a big understatement.
Liquid gold rewards are up to 126 silver, not 100.
Tokens for CoF, CoE, HotW and Arah liquidate for 90s-1g per run if you assume the worst scenario of not having any recipes. (Selling ecto or potions) gw2efficiency.com/currencies/dungeon-tokens
Dungeon recipe unlocks 2-4g (some even more) per dungeon path.

On top of that dungeons don’t take 10 minutes per path to complete. It’s usually 5 minutes in CM, AC takes about 5-8 minutes except p3 around 10 because of graveling burrows. TA will take about 8 minutes, aetherpath about 16-18. SE takes around 5-6 minutes per path (except p2 – ~9min – because of forced waiting) CoF takes 6 minutes except p2 again forced waiting. HotW takes 5-6 minutes. CoE and Arah takes about 9 minutes except p4 which takes like 20.
I’ve been generous with these times, record runs are in some of them 2x faster than what i wrote.

2. Raids are very unrewarding. Repetitive rewards are few blues and greens and you only gain like 60-80g per week, divide it by seven and compare to casual daily dungeons. Even if you add ghostly infusion profit it’s still bad

To call something very lucrative, it means you have compared it to something

so you basically assumed what was going through my mind and decided that’s what i said/meant. thats not how conversation works. i never compared dungeon rewards to 40 farm. i meant “very lucrative” in terms of feeling the gold gain and having the general idea of what is meh gold gain and what is not. from a typical basic dung tour you will get around 40-60g (after liquidating everything) and it can take you 2h, depends on skill. i’m assuming a pro party before raids existed and people didn’t run trash healing druids etc and you had to coordinate stuff

Yes, dungeons are lucrative and they can be fun, but not when the party you’re with just wants to get in and out as fast as possible.

Ummm no. Dungeon rewards scale with your speed so only ultra fast meta rush dung tours are very lucrative. If you complete 5 paths in 30 minutes it’s much more gold than 1 path done in 30 min.

I like fast, proper and lucrative runs therefore I disagree with what you said. I mean you can enjoy slow runs but don’t call them lucrative ;p

i just tried and you are correct, so its not only direct damage.
still, there are much more sources of direct dmg reduction that stack together so shroud protects better against it

yes shroud reduces direct damage by 50% (baseline so it doesn’t stack with active reductions)

for example hit for 1000 will hit for 500 in DS, if you have protection it will hit for 333 and if you have shambling horror it will take 33% from that so you only get hit for 222

thats why conditions melt death shroud very fast and direct damage just fast.

Honestly, this whole thread is why we can’t have nice things. In the future, ANet, consider just fixing the bug affecting players and not dealing with sending people stuff. I don’t think anyone in the beginning was seriously going to lose sleep over some missed loot, especially when the bug was fixed fast enough to still be able to complete the boss in the same week.

umm I have to disagree. ANet is being decent and thorough. The entire point of this thread is that we get to have a nice thing out of a bad thing. You’re not being appreciative

You’ve added more damage to the build yes. But warriors and guards will still offer better damage while also bringing other tools to the table.

Why state the obvious though, everyone who chooses to play a necro automatically agrees to play something that underperforms in comparison to other classes.

Yes and no. Unless losing his godhood completely replaced his personality, the things he does and does not care about are at least possibly the same as when he was a god, and his current blatant disregard for human lives runs counter to the explanation we’ve been given in the past for the gods’ withdrawal (granted, there are sound theories that reconcile the contradiction, but this isn’t the thread for them).

losing his godhood did change his personality. he lost his honour. he is no longer a god, so when you talk about the human gods, you’re not talking about balthazar anymore, same as with dhuum or abaddon. gods decided to leave tyria and they did. balthazar isn’t one of them, so he doesn’t represent them. simple as that.

we dont know what exactly happened, but we do know the facts as they stand right now. additionally, tying him to lyssa isn’t really smart – she loved tyrians and didn’t want to return to Arah and live with the others, while Balthazar was able to kill for losing a game/bet. lyssa wouldn’t give him the mirror, he probably stole it.

i wish fractals were more advanced actually. more achievements and definitely new challenges involving soloing and lowmanning. for example achievement that only works when party size is only 2/5 for the entire duration, etc.

currently it is very underwhelming when you think about what you can do besides daily t4. wish there was more

thats partly correct and i believe staff is the best weapon to start. it’s absurd that daredevil gets 2 evade skills and projectile reflect on autoattack while doing top tier power damage on the same weapon. ON TOP of having utility block, 3 evades, mobility and effective immortality gained by invigorating precision.

and im not saying necro should have all these things, it’s just that other classes have some portion of active defenses like these, except necro. there is this misrepresentation of facts running around about necro being tanky, but the truth is it’s the weakest class in the game and it needs a major overhaul in power dps and active defenses

examples would be: spectral armor turns incoming damage into life force, spectral walk works 1 minute instead of 8-12 (just like a portal), spectral wall reflects projectiles, DS2 is a teleport to target/in 1200 range, not a projectile, gravedigger grants evade for half the animation (until the spin is released), dagger 3 is a teleport 600 range to target, focus 4 grants might not regen, axe and warhorn have blast finishers, nightfall destroys projectiles. and then add % dmg modifiers to power traitlines. make the reaper grandmaster grant block “parry” during gs 3rd auto and increase GS damage by 10%

i would also redesign some minion skills to make them on par with functionality. shadow fiend and bone fiend would be destroyed on their bonus skill but make more powerful effects. shadow fiend would either summon a nightfall or teleport the player by making a rift or sth. bone fiend would die and make AOE immobilize 600 range. bone minion explosions i would turn into targeted aoe and make the minions jump/leap into the designated area. that would make it easier to aim blast finishers and other things.

I care. i play pve therefore i criticize from my point of view. besides, necro in pvp is also a trash tier since it relies heavily on support and has tragic survivability when compared to classes that can shadowstep, evade, block, invuln, turn dmg to health etc

necro staff is the worst weapon in the game. also the ugliest. 4 skills doing the same thing visually is underwhelming. there is no variety to it and im not pleased aesthetically with it. also the weakest for dps support and control.
dps = close to 0
support = regeneration, condi transfer. wow
control = 1x fear, great

i just searched the wiki and there is no mention of any bug related to this. apart from that, i play since the beta tests and do arah quite often. i never had vahid spawn trees infinitely so i don’t believe such a bug exists, as i’m pretty positive i’ve encountered every arah bug there was. so don’t be mad if nobody believes you, especially when you write such nonsense next to game mechanics that you called bugs.

that feeling when some people here post game mechanics as gamebreaking bugs.

a) learn to path mobs
b) learn to do Simin (you need to trap sparks to make her reappear)
c) vahid doesnt spawn infinite trees, he spawns around 5 max and if you kill one he will resummon
d) alphard resets bone wall and hp when someone runs around outside of her fighting area
e) mobs between ooze and entities do not respawn
f) don’t run into the turret in p2 spider cave, it’s for mobs. find the alternate way out of the tunnel or tp/block/invuln/doubledodge the turret
g) lupicus stays non-hostile only when you open the gate without doing prior events in p1/p2. maybe next time dont skip them…

The concept of making it black seems very emo to me as an old alternative 90’s music lover.

why would you want to waste one epidemic if you can just cleave the champ with condis and dont have to bounce.

I dont see how your wasting 1 epi can you elaborate?
Your dubbling back the conditions you just epi from boss so dubble the damage on main target.

epidemic has a limit of copying 25 condi stacks at once. if you cleave boss and the oakheart both at once (with aoes when they are close to each other), you dont have to waste 1 epidemic on boss, you can use both epidemics on the champion since it’s already capped on 25 bleed

1 – Agreed, newbies shouldn’t get this on their first ever fractal run especially when some mobs there respawn and they may not know that

2 – Agreed, everything requiring more than 1 person to progress instance should be removed

3 – I disagree, I often do the run solo, you just need to LoS the kraits and also medic packs and stealth packs help if you’re being extra. Dolphins could use more skills though and make the revive a special action key.

4 – No, the spinning walls are fun to me and I don’t hate the encounter

i agree, but this solo isn’t a strong argument for these. It shows you can cheese on necro to the point of killing mai with 1 finger.
for the “necro is good for speedclear” argument you need to show speedclear videos to these people who don’t believe. but i wouldn’t bother with that, just do your thing
