personally i would go with the crossing and the arachnophobia, they’ve stated that the mad king dungeon will only be for 1 more day whereas black lion chests (and mad king chests) will more than likely be available until the end of the Halloween event which i believe is the 7th?
i know the 2 exotics can drop from the labyrinth but that’s only 2 attempts at getting one of them, if you factor in the cost that they take to make which is over 100g a piece(poster above says 150g which might well be true) as well as dungeon tokens you’re looking at a sale of pretty much at least 100g per

you’re clueless, if you actually read my post you might understand that in prime time we can fight but in nights they cap everything that we own – hence; going after the winning team(us) and going after the weakest team (us at night) it might be too dificult for you to fathom though but it’s ok if you don’t understand

EVERY week when we’re up against 2 germans/french servers the chat is always filled with “they’re teaming up!” or better yet people come on the forums to complain about this ridiculous nonsense
and you’ve even said it your self that we’re outnumbered, so i’ll give you a rhetorical question;
who are you going to attack? the team who has more enemy’s and people defending their structures or the team who’s outnumbered and probably has 0-2 people defending?

I disagree with badges only, due to it is easy to get.
Roll a thieves, get full exo, 3 hit everyone else=1/2 badges per person. I’ve actually able to get atleast a stack with a full day on WvW. How? Hop to Kaineng, and beat the kitten out of the other 2 low pop/levels server players.
Maybe 2000 badges+200g+achievement in WvW. That will work.

Yeah, armor does not equate to toughness. I run with 2.2k toughness and will rarely, if ever, get hit with 4k dancing daggers. However, when I was squish as this, then yes… that does sound about right.
well i’m still 1465 toughness, just out of curiosity how much do plate wearers get without specing full tank?
2.3k armor and i’m taking hits for 7k? drop my armour down to 1.8/1.9k for normal cloth wearers and they’ll be taking 9k+ hits

every single night i’ve been on we’ve had the outmanned buff and i’m talking at about 2-5am gmt
so whichever way you look at it, the sfr nightshift folk, if they excist, are playing against a bigger group of nightshift enemy’s so that’s hardly an excuse you can use

i’m not 100% certain but i’m guessing the range of /s is until the next part of the map has to render (basically viewing distance) and i have no idea what the range of /team is but that’s a very good question that i’d love to know the answer of!
guardian seems like it would fit you nicely, it has quite a few support and healing traits aswell as being a tanky class

The 2 chests from the mobs in the labyrinth have a chance of dropping the items (I got a Crossing from one)
i have to say that’s great to hear, the whole event was a massive flop but now people who don’t have the hours to grind for ~150g worth of mats(or even not have to participate in the event because there craftable at any time..) can now grind the events in hopes of getting one of the weapons

and i’m not sure how you figured out that t4->t5 is equivalent to t5->t6 though but forging t6 mats get you lower return than others

some of you may already know that there is a diminishing returns on the mystic forge and i was wondering, how long is it?

it’s a consumable that disappears whenever you zone/die, not the typical food buff
it’s actually gain power/condition/precision equal to 4/5/6% of your toughness and vitality and that’s it, they don’t get crit from it but you can use the normal food buffs along side it

Doly should never be able to be soloed. NOT EVER.
The killing of supplies is way too easy in the game. Solo Doly should need at least 3 people to have a chance and escorted should need 10+ do do any damage.To take out a supply chain with 1 person is in itself completely stupid. My Guardian can take out a supply camp solo … I rely doubt that that was intended.
Having them soloable increases the motivation for guarding them.
An unescorted Dolyak should never present dangers to anybody as it’s basically just a truck. Escort your supplies if not wanting them busted.

You are right, we should nerf Rangers, Elementalists, Warriors, Mesmers, Guardians, Engeneers and Thieves right now.
I mean, the only class that can’t burst out that much dmg in 2 – 5 seconds when speccing full on glass cannon is the Necromancer.
Thief burst is actually only the 4th highest in the game (with Warriors > Engeneers > Mesmers taking the lead).
The only question left is:
Why do we see so many Thieves running burst builds, compared to other classes?Short answer is: because the Thief can’t do anything else (effectively, compared to other classes).
Want to play support? Nobody picks a Thief for that.
Want to play control? Why would you pick a Thief?
Want to be tanky? Thief is probably the worst decision on this you can make.
Want to be mobile? Thief is good here, but not the best. But being mobile alone isn’t doing anything.
Want to do damage? At least the Thief is pretty good here.The only reason the Thief profession stands out for it’s damage is because you don’t see a variety in roles.
If every Engeneer would run burst, it would be worse than Thieves.
If every Warrior would run burst, it would be worse than Thieves.
If every…If you complain about people not getting the whole picture, you should probably check how biased you are yourself.
You complain about Thief burst, only because every Thief bursts you.
You dont complain about Warrior burst, just because not every Warrior bursts you, even tho their burst is higher (while having much more defensive at the same time).
Same goes for Engeneers and so on.That paired with Assassins (stealth bursts) being pubstompers, and noobs crying the loudest in fourms etc. (while pros just search a counter, if they have a problem at all), just gives a wrong, small, picture of a class.
It’s simply psychology, and if anything, then Thieves are lacking in role diversity and surviveability (besides the noob trap stealth).
Again, they only gear, trait and skill for full burst because thats the only role they can play really effectively, while not even being the best in that role.
[And btw, if you want to simply beat someone who is fully geared for glass cannon, it’s only fair if you have to gear for fully anti glass cannon]
If any 2 classes aren’t OP, then is has to be the Thief and the Elementalist.
While the Elementalist has the ultimate role diversity (but being a master at none), the Thief is only really good at one thing.
Both is lacking.Giving the Elementalists some more health would nearly fix his problem, since then he would be kind of powerful with all the roles he can play (at basically the same time), without dieing when someone looks at him.
The Thief, while also desperately in need for more base health, also really needs a buff to his (atm) uncommon weapon sets, and probably more viable weapon choices added, which should support playing different roles.
That would also thin out burst Thieves by a great deal, making them not standing out as bursters all the time any more, which would fix the problem, and elevating them to be on par with the other classes (not standing out for one thing, and one thing only, getting much attention).

Hey, thought I should enter this here, be warned… there’s simple maths.
If you do 1000 damage and your base crit damage is 150% then you would hit for 1500 damage. However to compare crit damage against normal damage we must consider two situations, first is increasing damage by 50% and the second is increasing crit damage by 50%.
Increasing damage by 50% would lead to 1500 damage, on a crit a person would deal 150% damage, as such the total damage of a crit would be 2250.
Increasing crit damage by 50% would lead to 200% crit damage, on a hit of 1000 damage the person would deal 2000 damage.
Based on these numbers we can see that a damage increase creates more over all damage (crit and non-crit) than just increasing crit damage alone, this leads to a situation where increasing damage is ~15% better than increasing crit damage by the same percentage.
Based on this information we can conclude that Superior rune of the Scholar which gives 8% crit damage, 165 power and 10% damage while health is above 90% is the single best rune for backstab thieves based on the fact that it provides the single largest damage boost of any rune/gem combination.
ya but u wont have much crit chance as it is in my build = less dps
165 power is roughly +18% base damage. Just throwing that out there… pretty sure it won’t be less dps. Unless you have a heavily crit proc dependent build or something crazy.
actually 30 power is about 1% damage increase, not sure how you calculated that 9 power = 1% damage but you’re way off (and i know my calc isn’t perfect either)

i have to agree this is beyond a joke
you can also use ruby orbs for 12% crit damage, 84 precision and 120 power OR just replace your 1 rune of air for a single ruby orb (2% crit damage, 20 power and 14 precision)
so for 42s you get 12% crit damage, 4% crit and a about 4% damage increase (if my maths right, that’s what 120 power converts too)
ruby orbs are such a great cheap alternative to runes
elementalist; seems like a class with a high skill cap, if not played well you’ll struggle against almost any opponent but can deal massive aoe
ranger; not as squishy with good mobility, easyer to play, nice aoe and single target dps
mesmer; lacks reliable aoe and mobility, amazing 1v1 class, moderate skill cap (timing of skills etc) but can still be played “ok” by an average player
if anyone want’s to correct me please do
just a small suggestion to you, on some classes (guardian, necro, warrior and i think rangers) i would recommend you f4 your illusions to give you distortion so you don’t get feared/dazed
this is coming from the 4 minute mark where you went from 10k health to 4k as well as eating the fear(could have turned out badly!)

Although I agree entirely that thiefs need work, particulalrly HS spam and WvW rendering issues.
you will survive longer if you invest more in tough/vit. both through skillpoints and gear.
I am also a full exotic zerker glasscannon with 15k hp (not thief). But I can also melt stuff when left alone.

TBH, even at lvl 80 with full exotic gear, repairs don’t cost a whole lot. I think it’s mostly just a psychological thing. I’m less likely to engage when I’m unsure of the outcome because I hate having to repair my gear. Hell, if it wasn’t for that, I’d happily just charge headlong into losing battles a lot of the time.
this is correct, it’s only 1s60c for 1 death (unsure if it increases with multiple pieces of damaged gear) for full exotics which isn’t a lot at all… you get 1s for killing a sentry which takes no effort at all even solo but like this guy said, no costs = suiciding, deaths should come at a price
if you see a zerg use your utility skills, as it’s what there used for to escape before you get put in combat
i run solo/duo in wvw 90% of the time, the other 10% it’s either for big coordinated or raiding supply camps and i’m making more money than i can spend
i hate it when i’m fighting 1v2/ but like it when i’m fighting 2v4 (with a competent ally)
some classes (mainly melee) have aoe on almost all attacks, not only would the melee be cleaving there own melee but also both teams ranged classes would be hitting them causing melee to blow up from 3 sources of damage

also i wouldn’t buy vendor food, you can buy stuff A LOT better than vendor food for cheaper (you can filter the ah to select level 60+ consumables then sort by price) you’d actually be amazed at how cheap it is

/me is used for doing your own emotes and as you may (or may not) know the enemy can see any emote you can do, so just add anything after it and it comes out in the emote style text
“servername invader <text>” is what it shows as
/me emotes don’t work unless they’ve recently changed it. All the enemy sees is “Servername invader gestures.”
That’s it.
I once had an enemy desperately tried to communicate with me using /me to no avail.
well that’s made me look silly, i just assumed it would work like the emotes but haven’t tested.. really disappointed that it doesn’t
