I have over 1000 hours played on my main….with 8 characters but the rest are lvl 10-20 lol

Im in love with my main too much but I will get more lvl 80’s soon. Is easy to get them leveled.

You know the thing is, many people get mad if you only use the word “mount”, no matter how you call this broom thing, it does what mounts do. They are there you can sit on it and go around with it,. The only difference is that it has a very limited use. If people call it “a mount” so let them do it. Noone ever said, well this way it would be an ok way for mounts to be implemented, as long as they don’t break immersion to much (like a flying elephant prolly does^^).

The witch’s broom is a cosmetic mount, it gives no advantage and no speed boost but it is a mount and it is purely cosmetic.

Mounts are already in GW2. These Riding Brooms will probably be an extention of that. There creeping it in like they did ascended items.

If you ride something.. its a mount. Doesnt matter if its fast, slow, flying or cosmetic. You cannot ride something and not class it as a mount !

That is opposite of what I’m saying. perhaps the phrase “SIT there and look awesome” was a poor choice of words on my part. But it does not provide any stat change, nor does it move faster than normal movement speed or fly. No change to weapon or utility skills. It does nothing to change performance whatsoever except look like something different. Therefore, it IS cosmetic.

I’m not saying it isn’t a mount. I am simply debating the difference between “cosmetic mount” and “mount” because there is a huge difference between the two.

Anet can deny it all they like but there are cosmetic mounts currently in GW2 right now :P

Except they are Town Clothing only and only last for a limited time. You can only use the Witch’s Broom with Town Clothing equipped. And it only lasts for a few minutes before it vanishes and you have to recast it.

A mount in any game you can use at any time, regardless of your outfit. And they don’t have a time limit on them on how long you can ride it before it vanishes. They last until you unsummon them.

Sorry it is still a mount, it lasts for a very long time if you keep moving and you can use it in open world, i do all the time, aslong as your not in combat, you can travel all of tyria on it.

DR = Worst game mechanic in MMO history, it does not stop bots, it just stops us making decent gold so it pushes the players towards the gem store.

What annoy’s me is Guild Wars 2 and Legendarys has just turned into trading post wars 2. Not about how much you played the game, how you earned it through playing the game, but how you can play the trading post….

It makes me laugh how Arena Net made this game and thought it was a good idea, legendary’s are not even rare anymore a few months into the game because it doesn’t matter what or how you play the game, just play the trading post and get rich.

You realize this is part of ArenaNet’s business model, right? They want to sell gems. Players can buy gold with gems… then buy lengedaries with gold.

Your just stating the obvious….and because they designed it this way the game has become cheap casual extremely easy and dumb downed game for the masses all based around the gem store and the trading outpost. Hardly any challenge just Trading Post Wars 2.

Yes its there business model but the way they are using it, implementing it and pushing it down our throats at every turn in the game is just ruining the game as a whole and is total overkill and just not needed to make a profit.

The holiday gambling in gem store and constant nerfing of normal in game ways of making gold or diminishing returns are just a few examples, I can think of many many more.

For getting the mats needed for legendary, I didn’t farm Orr, never touched TP, did flipping/etc, never spent a dime on goldsellers/gemshop. I don’t enjoy that. It’s like having a second job, that actually doesn’t give you any income. I got all of my gold/karma/half of lodestones from dungeons and casual gameplay. Also jumping badges ftw.

Yeah, I’ve seen 1 charged lodestone drop in all my playing, yet I need 99 more at currently around 3.5g a pop. The drop rate is horrid. CoE tends to be a hard dungeon to find people for as well… at least I need tokens from there too.

Since the addition of karma jugs/dungeons giving karma/etc 1mil karma is supereasy to obtain. Skillpoints are a bit of a problem, but you should have enough as a long time player and you can always use fractal tokens to get those faster aswell. Alternative is just to create a new character and explore a bit. Atleast 1/4 T6 come from clover recipe, depends on how unlucky you are with clover RNG, rest can be bought from TP. Ectos come from random rare/exo drops from dungeons and guaranteed rares you buy for dungeon tokens. Getting 100g for icy runestones shouldn’t take you more than about a 1-2 weeks of casual gameplay. Lodestones/precursor are definitely the most painful part of legendary.

I agree with you that all the karma, badges, etc that you need are the least of the worries for the legendary. I could afford to buy my precursor right now as well, but I’m waiting on news about this scavenger hunt. But all the other stuff that isn’t really farmable and must be bought off the TP is what frustrates me. You say you didn’t flip on the TP, yet you can get 100g every 1-2 weeks from just playing??? I’m sorry, but how the kitten do you do that. I think I play a bit more than casually and I consider it a good day if I make a couple G. I can’t even make 100g in a month….

I want to work hard for my legendary. I think it’s fun. But I bought this game to play it.. you know, do hearts, events… heck, I’ll even farm a certain type of mob for specific drops. But needing to learn how to make money off the TP? No thanks! That is not at all interesting to me and no it’s no “sooo easy” as some will say. Some of us just don’t have the mind for it. :P

Honestly this is my only beef with the game. I think it’s completely fine and fair if people earn stuff by playing whatever ingame market there is. But give all of us who don’t enjoy or are not good at it a road map to obtain things as well.

This, exactly this, Anet designed there game this way on purpose and people are not as stupid as they thought, we can see right through it. Gw2 is a shell of what they said it would be.

The fact of the matter is the game is now old enough for a legendary item to start becoming more and more common, unfortunately it has meant hardcore players with little knowledge of playing the TP (once you have 20g or more starting capital the TP is VERY EASY to play btw, not saying L2P but comon… it takes like 10 mins to flip items) are being left behind a little bit.

I agree with that part, it has turned into trading post wars 2, either that or get your credit card out or diminishing returns wars 2.

Farming for legendaries already didn’t make sense, as theres very little thats legendary about doing the same things over and over for months on end. Now we have to farm for novelty items too, where is the logic there?

The boxes are way better than the Halloween ones:

• Weapon skins can be got in-game, or bought for gems
• Quaggan mini can be made by combining the festive mini’s and Wads of Stuffing
• These also drop throughout the world (I got 1 in about 3 hours gameplay)
• The only things that are exclusive are the tonics and mortars.

Hardly ‘scummy’ if you can get the stuff in the chests in-game as well.

You are sadly mistaken. Also this time noone has any way of getting them on trading post, they restricted it.

I have a question about how Anet keep using casino type gambling for holiday and event items in the gem store.

Personally I think especially at christmas time to use this business model is scummy and disgracefull but whatever, locking out players to buy them on the trading post was another nice scummy touch to rip off players as much as possible. Good job on that.

My question is simple. Will you be doing this on every single holiday and special event?

Please tell us all before the next one so I can leave the game and add Anet to my list of scummy gaming company’s.

Please Anet make this disconnecting crap in fractals fix a priority, so many players iv played with can’t even and won’t even play fractals because of it.

Been trying to complete a lvl for days now and can’t due to myself and other players losing connection.

Please fix this asap.

This is a band aid solution but atleast they accept that. Is not really a very good one since its just as important to know how many allies you have around you as much as enemies.

Also they still have failed to address the issue that has destroyed server and WvW communitys and turned WvW balance into a joke making any ranking tables completely pointless until they address this issue. Free WvW Server Transfers……its killing WvW.

Just one example is my server desolation, we hanged in the middle tables for a while, then a US guild of hundreds of players called RUIN server jumps onto our server and begins to night cap everything every single night, we rapidly rise to the highest ranking EU server and the number 1 slot which dragged us to a tier fight that deso should not of been in, RUIN begin to lose against blacktide so they again server jump after recruiting hundreds of desolation players and take a large chunk of there own players and deso players with them to blacktide. Once we started to lose due to the huge number of server jumpers, even more players jumped ship from deso because of the abuse of free server transfers by a certain guild…

We drop 7 places very rapidly after that knocking us back down to where we should of been in the first place if it wasn’t for free server transfers. We then lost for every single week since then in WvW constantly dropping in the ranking due to being dragged to tier one by a US guild that jumped server the minute they lost. This then had another effect as noone wanted to play WvW on our server anymore and even more players left the server since we will continue to lose until we get back to our original ranking before RUIN jumped servers to deso.

Other servers have also exploited the server transfer system a number of times. It damaged the desolation server communnity and it damage the desolation WvW community aswell as many other servers that have been damaged by similar effects of mass guild and players server hopping because of free server transfers.

Yet Arena Net still do not address this issue and still let it continue. Until they address free server transfers, lock players out of WvW on there new server after the transfer, make it expensive to change servers, make it so only change once a month, put it many other incentives to stay on one server win or lose and just grow your own server instead of server hoping to other timezone servers to win like RUIN does.

Once those issues are addressed then WvW can start to grow again, right now with free server transfers in WvW, trying to grow a server or community in WvW is 20 times harder and alot more pointless.

TL:DR

Get rid of the bloody free server transfers and start putting in restriction, heavy ones, also put in incentives to stick with one server and help it grow. Probably the most important issue with WvW right now. Would much rather have Free server transfers fixed right now than band aid fixes on culling….

One guilds actions should never have be allowed to have such a negative effect on servers and WvW community’s / rankings and players. Anet allowed it because of not adressing these issues and it almost wrecked desolation as a server and many other servers.

Please fix these issues before it ruins pun intended WvW for good.
