You guys are kind of the worst of the farming bunch. I always resurrect, help others who also want to farm, and encourage others to do well. If I don’t like my arena anymore, then I simply leave and don’t make a fuss. Gauntlet isn’t intended AT ALL for just farming.

I had a guy actually say to me yesterday that the arena he was at was full and for me to go away. I made sure to stay around, get into a match, and fight for as long as possible. He left not too long after that.

Some guy wanted to farm in peace, so you decided to be a total jerk about it? And yet you have the audacity to come on these forums and act like you’re on the high ground here? Your two paragraphs totally contradict each other. This kind of attitude is the problem. You think you’re nice, yet when someone plays the game in a way you don’t like, you harass them. This moral elitism needs to stop.

Lol, wow. No one owns an arena. I’ve been told to go away, which just makes me stay at that arena.

Vendoring gives you wings. How would they calculate vendor prices for higher tier items? We set the prices on the tp, plus they want us to use the tp for listing fees (gold sink).

With things that can’t be traded, no clue how they’d determine the prices for those either :P Gold means less and less as time goes on, so it’s not like they’d just change the vendor prices every few months.

Only lvl 80’s chars should get the mail then. It makes no sense to try the gauntlet with a lvl 20, the upscaling is not really doing fine for me.

Eh, I had to use my lvl 40 Warrior for “Blobs, Schmobs”. Worked out for me.

Tried with my necro and it did not go well
And also cant a warriro burst down anything

Lol, true. Main reason I needed to use the warrior though was for the single target damage of the rifle :P It seems all my 80s are aoe happy.

I’m a bit tired of temporary content, but none of it has made me spend money, so no clue what you’re going on about. I’m also fine with no raids :P

I don’t know what you understand for "maintenance " but in online games, that always take a while (they always said 6 hour but it may take less or way more than that).

6 hours is a bit strange for this game though. There hasn’t been a build update that’s lasted longer then just relogging since release :P

Water combat: great or suicidal?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Tamaki Revolution.3548

I like underwater combat, but then I have a ranger for that with full lvl 80 exotic weapons and superior sigils. I also have 2 lvl 80 breathers slotted with a 7th rune so I maintain my 6th rune bonus depending on which armour set I am using.

The reason many don’t like under combat is because they do not bother, or are too cheap, to run level appropriate underwater kit.

As for utility skills, so certain ones are not available – big deal. Rangers loose all traps and anything ground-target related. This does not make rangers useless underwater. No matter what class you play, if your build is that dependent on these unavailable skills, then that is a problem with your build, not the combat.

Yup, it might take a play style adjustment to play in a completely different environment, who would have thought?? But this should not be a problem for all you so-called ‘pro’ hot-shot players, yes??

Pretty sure all of us are in exotics, and not complaining about underwater combat while wearing whites. I also get the feeling you mean thieves losing stealth is build reliant, when it’s a basic concept for the entire class, so lose the attitude. Who said they were a pro hot shot player (lol), weird guy.

Rangers and Mesmers are fun underwater. I may be biased on the ranger part, mainly because I love my shark. Not a big fan of Guardians underwater (feels like it takes too long to kill most things), Necros are fine, and I enjoy Engi’s turrets underwater unlike above water.

I’d agree that ranged feels very spammy.

Used to be decently fun, despite having 0 utility skills, no elite and lack of stealth under water as Thief. Then they nerfed the only thing that made it not 100% horrible. Now I don’t enjoy the water as much anymore.

My thief underwater feels like a completely different character. And by different, I mean useless.

Hehe. Cry about your lack of stealth some more. Your tears feed my pets.

In all honesty, I run a condition thief which is far more useless than a burst thief underwater. Burst thieves have Shadowed Assault which is a spammable evade while attacking. I don’t see how not-OP that is.

Eh, talking about PvE here guy. I’m also a condition thief, so not sure where you’re going with this. I just hate losing all my utilities and elites.

Also 30 into SA pretty much means nothing, and no caltrops on dodge underwater XD

… maybe it is because it is early morning, but that didn’t make sense to me.

I am using Midnight on armour. How is that not showing its true colour. It is the colour of the item it is placed on…

You can tell it’s midnight w/e on a lot of different armor, the ice part shows through. Basically everything Danikat said.

I will agree that Abyss can really distort/cover up a lot of details.

I hope that one day they will change the movement skills to allow you to jump up small heights and so on. if you look at star wars the old republic combat where some classes can force leap up to platforms and others with jet packs and so on it adds a whole new dimension to combat.

The jumping there was pretty horrible. I did like being nice and camping a character on the Jawa mobile for helping people with duel/Harpoon gun. kitten balloon rides :P

Those calling GW2 shallow.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Tamaki Revolution.3548

Tamaki Revolution.3548

i find it more annoying than shallow.

i understand having the traits set up the way they do trying to force diversity into builds. but that only really works when the options you have are interesting and more importantly viable to a good selection of play styles, therefor making it more about choosing which good traits to take and which good traits to sacrifice.

however the traits we actually have, led to a thinking style more along the lines of “how many useful traits can i get while avoiding too many of the useless ones and not sacrificing too many useful stats”.

which ofc makes build design more an act of frustration than fun.

Minor traits annoy me more than anything. I can’t tell you number of times the “Stealth at 25% health” (or w/e it is) trait has gotten my thief killed in WvW :P

What makes Gw2 a great MMO

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I suppose what makes GW2 a good game (not a great one, IMO. A good one) is that I am not constantly fighting other players.

Ugh, I remember in ToR there being a line to kill certains NPCs. Then of course some guy would run up and just kill it with 5 or so of us raging on the inside.

After wasting 20g on Celestial in efforts to better match my radiant skins, you’re better off with white. You can preview the dye by right-clicking it in the TP, but what you see in the preview window isn’t even close to what you’ll see in-game. People like to defend it with excuses of ambient lighting, but it’s so far off-base even in the most well lit areas, it’s not even worth considering at this point. Save yourself the coin and just go with white.

Yeah, the preview is very misleading :P I say, if you’re going to spend 10g, might as well go 20g though (for white/celestial).

Black can be dark enough for some armor, but on heavy there’s a big difference between it and Abyss.

Sadly, they have already broken faith around the platformers in-game. Originally they were to be optional content, there for those that like them, optional otherwise. This release of the LS they have even gated voting , an important element of impact on the world, behind a mini-game platformer. I don’t do platformers and am unable to vote. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. Very sad.

Did you actually try it? Even once? Because getting up to the airship is not even remotely platforming. If you use the lightning crystal near where the elemental spawns you don’t even have to jump, you can do the entire thing never pushing more than 1 button at a time or using any kind of timing or aim.

What they said. Just take 10 seconds to get past one part of the game :P Also who would you vote for? I’ll toss my 100+ votes at em since I couldn’t care less. (Would be more, but I just delete them now)

I’ve personally missed monthlies, back when there weren’t multiple categories to pick from, and fractals were part of them. I also tend to stop doing Living Story achievements once I get the skin/mini.

Thats why I say: Remove all rewards from the came, all laurels, etc etc. Leave ectos to be an exotic crafting material. And reward us with Karma, Gold, XP for completing any event or activity in guild wars 2.

Well I didn’t mean me personally, well besides the doing it all in one day part (I usually do the Monthly in 1-2 days). Having dailies so people will log on each day may be considered bad practice, but I can see where a company is coming from in that aspect. It makes the game world seem more active, but of course that’s pretty much just Queensdale atm.

I thought all events already rewarded us with xp/gold/karma?
