And I’ll say it again. Flipping is leeching off of the system and is IMHO unethical. ‘Farmers’, aka players who are playing the kittening game, get punished and restricted while those that play the TP and siphon money away from said players get rewarded and are unrestricted.
Facerolling a keyboard on a zerker warrior isn’t really trying hard. I still like farmers :P
The thread is about angry farmers trying to prove a point :P I’d be glad if anet stopped nerfing legitimate farms, although I’m not sure which farms those were. Recently Arah’s gate was broken, so it was fixed. I think CoF P1 is getting nerfed or such? Orr’s bag drop rate was nerfed(?), and there’s DR (which seems to hit way too soon).
Is there a big nerf on the way? I saw a few threads about the devs hating alts.
You keep using this word “meaningful” content. You mean an instant dungeon that’s challenging? Because that’s not meaningful content to me.
Maybe the existing content is meaningful to some people and just not to you.
I always take these threads to mean either another dungeon, a new fractal, or raids. Three things I could care less about.
[Black Lion Trading] TP bought items should be account bound

Why do bad ideas/threads always come in threes?
Someone with a Legendary doesn’t impress me, not that I’d have a second thought about them, or think less of them for some dumb reason either :P Also a player’s “skill” in a computer game doesn’t impress me. A nice person that knows how to take a joke gets my attention. I’m getting old….
Normal players are both buyers and sellers, so yes, you are harming them. And I’ve yet to meet someone who flips who doesn’t do it in bulk.
I don’t flip in bulk. I deal in exotics :| I’m not a power trader, just a lowly flipper-man.
Playing the market is a mini-game, and can be just as fun as the actual game to some of us, regardless of the MMO. Now I think some people seriously can’t tell the difference between flipping an item, and buying all of an item up in bulk to relist at a higher price.
A little friendly market pvp might not exactly “help” others, but it’s not harming buyers either. It may mess with sellers for a bit :P
One of the biggest benefits to having a professional economist in charge of the TP is that changes will not be made because of assumptions or blind panic, but on the basis of real data interpreted through knowledge and experience.
Unless his tears blind him.
If you think flipping is stealing, you really have no clue how the market works.
It’s funny how flippers love to use the same excuse over and over to justify themselves, without being capable of providing any argument.
Who said I wanted to give you an argument? I’m probably flipping your stuff right now.
Well probably not, I tend to deal in things with value :P <——me trying to sound like a big shot. I really don’t make much profit in most of my flips.
Flipping always brings around more flippers, which just kills the profit to where it’s no longer worth it after a bit. Undercutting brings the prices down too low, so you’re welcome.

Some of us refuse to abuse the market in such a way. Flipping items and basically stealing gold from players who actually need the items should not be far more profitable than anything else in the game.
If my items don’t sell after a week or two I tend to have a fire sale. I just sell to the highest bidder to get some gold back. I know what I’m doing.
In other words “Girrrrrrl, you crahzay”.
If you think flipping is stealing, you really have no clue how the market works.
You guys made John Smith cry. Please learn how to use the market to make it all better
Flipping != Market Manipulation
I’ve been finding that speculation is better than both, then again I’m usually broke.
Edit: I may just be combining this thread and Erasculio’s thread in my head, so excuse any OT-ness.

Also why do people think its fine to make money on the Tp but think that farming should be nerfed. Im all for dr when it comes to mobs in the world. But in dungeons there shouldnt be any dr or at least dr that resets every hour not every day
Doubt many people who play the tp have a problem with farmers. Some like to do both.
I mainly just read this as a vent about farming nerfs. Please don’t drag the tp down with you though :P
Also I don’t s/t-pvp, but from what I’ve read they don’t exist in the higher tiers.
Nah they exist and are in a good spot I’d say. The recent EU qualifiers had plenty of them.
yeah, people will believe anything that is convinient to them. To all those who think there arent thieves in high tiers, bother to watch some of those games, play yourself sPvP and you will see how much they actually are in there. Stop tinking they suck, there is a reason they are so strong in PvP, an d thats because they are too effective at killing even in 2v2 and 3v3 scenarios.
Never said they sucked, I was just misinformed. Like I said, I don’t pvp, I just like to read random forum sections sometimes :P
I’m D/D, but not some burst build. I run my own condition D/D point control build.
There’s that also :P OP’s rage just seems mainly directed at D/D’s, main reason I brought it up.
backstab have a internal CD of 15-20 secs
I’d like to use [Sneak Attack] more than once every 15-20 seconds, thanks. Not all thieves are D/D….. seriously.
Also I don’t s/t-pvp, but from what I’ve read they don’t exist in the higher tiers.

How about this? he can also cap points, follow in a zerg, secure objectives, scout, give mass stealth to an entire party, carry resources, carry resources without been seeing.
A level one Eng in whites can do 4/7 of those :P Try a bunker Ele in WvW, they tend to laugh at my thief. Granted, he’s not a zerker, nor D/D.
I agree that the AP for legendaries is extremely low (I have 0), but I don’t think we’re getting too many for other things. I may be biased though, since I can’t start on the Hellfire set until 12000.
I’d wait. I don’t think prices will go up, so at worst you’ll still pay the same price a week or two from now that you’d pay today.
Yeah, true. Well guess I’ll wait it out :P Glad I saw this thread before I jumped the gun, ty.
Do you guys think it would be worth waiting till next week to forge something like Foefire’s Essence? Was just going to straight out buy the 100 charged lodestones today, but I may wait if the price is going to drop.
Being able to buy gems with gold is a luxury, you guys know that right? :P They do actually want real cash to keep the game going. With that said, wish I had converted gold yesterday for my bank tab >.>
I’m a hero.. a hero who spends hours each day making sure the bank in Lions Arch is safe by standing next to it looking at the trading post. You’re all welcome.
Fellow hero, I salute you. I stand guard in Nightguard Beach, making sure no one attacks Debbie Lantys as we save the world, one flip at a time.
I may be weird, but I rarely care about story in MMOs. In my 5 years in CoH I couldn’t tell you what the majority of the lore was. What I’m really wanting is a new zone, more weapons and utilities and another WvW map. These 2 week events are keeping me entertained enough for now though.
I tend to prefer game play over lore, but like I said… I’m a weirdo.
I’m a guy who keeps reading the same thread with a different title.
My main only has an ascended amulet (well 2, since I bought the wrong infusion the first go around), and that’s with me sitting on 150 laurels. Exotics are working fine for what I do still :P
When I was really hung over, and on a new character trying to get to the top, I just used the lightning’s tp power to get across that part :p Can slowly tp to each platform at your leisure.

@Tamaki Revolution
this is the post for the next release
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/august-06-2013/
Ty. By early, I meant in the morning :P
Can’t wait for the wallet, might mean I won’t have to buy the next bank slot after all.
Oh, forgot they post the overviews this early, lol.
Am I missing something here?
I’d personally buy a sword/rifle/pistol skin to sell later down the road. I think they did mention them being used for future skins though, so not sure. Up to you :P
I was bored and bought a pack of 5 keys with gold, and ended up with 1 Claim ticket and 3 scraps. Bought the skin that had the highest buy order and sold it, and thought the claim tickets dropped a lot. Used my profit and bought 2 more packs of 5, and got 1 scrap from all of them, lol.
I’ve also done the lvl 4 warrior doing his lvl 10 mission for keys about 9 times, and have gotten 0 scraps/claim tickets from those.
Well you only have to do 16 out of the 25 achievements. I stopped bothering with the rest once I hit 16.
(edited by Tamaki Revolution.3548)
I’m going to say until the 6th, but don’t quote me on that :P
I believe both Four Winds and Cutthroat end on the 6th.
gw2 is filled with gimmick mechanics, mcstealth is one of many. each gimmick mechanic simply shows a complete lack of developer knowledge in whatever area they’re supposed to cover. it’s not that stealth is impossible to counter, or even really that difficult once you learn what to expect, it’s that it’s that the implementation is so absurdly ridiculous and cheesy that it’s a complete turnoff. factor in all of the other gimmick mechanics that are likewise complete turnoffs, yet are mandatory to learn and deal with, and the overall attractiveness of the game plummets through the floor. what’s worse is that these gimmick mechanics are now infesting other games, which makes the overall outlook on the future of gaming quite bleak. fortunately, there are still companies that care about the integrity of their product, and won’t be copying the gimmick mechanics. however, that ship has long since sailed here.
As to this games stealth mechanic you hit the nail on the head. The degree in which the gimmick is applied makes it over the top for a lot of people while stealth in other games not so much.
I hate gimmicks. Like Shouts, signets, banners, illusions, pets. Do away with all of these please.
I agree. Gimmicky mechanics conflict with the players immersion.

My thief is a P/D condition one >.> I use stealth just to apply more bleed stacks :P Or run the hell out of a bad situation lol.
Glad to hear there are still thieves who play like they have a pair.
Not sure if that’s sarcasm :P If I run it’s usually because I ran into a zerg in wvw, or I need to rez a teammate with refuge in a dungeon. Although I do like to troll groups of 3 or so in WvW.
My thief is a P/D condition one >.> I use stealth just to apply more bleed stacks :P Or run the hell out of a bad situation lol.
In CoH you were in stealth about 80% of the time on a Stalker, so not every game :P Also in SwTor you were pretty much in stealth the majority of the time on a couple classes.
Yes, but Stalker’s were unstealthed upon attacking, and you couldn’t jump right back into it (at least in the PvE environment).
Why did you have to bring up CoH. :melancholy:
I miss my heroes.
I make myself sad every time I mention it :P But most stalkers had Phase shift, even with the “new” way of being able to attack phase shifters with phase shift, it was pretty easy to get back into stealth. You also had placate.
(edited by Tamaki Revolution.3548)
Ok, every successful game. :-P
Rude! Also, how dare you. CoH came out around the same time as WoW, it just died 8 years in :P Now ToR, I’ll give you that XD
Stealth isn’t…totally…the problem. It’s the ability to be a total troll with it. In every other game that has learned to balance stealth…it was purely a mechanic to get the jump on an opponent or to escape a situation that was unfavorable. However escaping usually put that escape skill on a decently long CD. Damage also pops a stealth class from stealth…but not in GW2.
In GW@ it is a total troll mechanic…one can poke and stealth infinitely and heal insanely well while doing so. I believe that is where all the stealth hatred comes from…it is for me at least.
The only direct counter to it is being full on tank. Getting lucky with an aoe skill is not a counter.
Stealth NEEDS some balancing in this game.
In CoH you were in stealth about 80% of the time on a Stalker, so not every game :P Also in SwTor you were pretty much in stealth the majority of the time on a couple classes.
They could introduce a condition that disable stealth and block stealth for a while.
Also one that disables illusions, and death shroud. Bah, those are my mains… so nm. Unless you’re referring to those WvW temps :P
I personally advocate for stealth to be removed from weapon sets and remain completely utilitarian with a minimum of 45 second cd when traited.
X.x I’d like to use Sneak Attack more than once every 45 seconds, kthnx.
I’m not a fan of the followers system, at all. I also wish I could log on as invisible, even before I hit the character selection screen.
Or if we got to feel as all-powerful in PvE as City of Heroes let its players feel?
CoH got a bit out of control. Duoed the Lambda trial with a friend :P I do miss when herding meant like 30+ npcs, instead of 5 here.
And I know for a fact I’m not the only one in that boat. So please stop defending Anet on this. They don’t need it or deserve it.
You’ve been able to get 95% of the skins with a bit of gold or time. So please stop needlessly bashing Anet on this. They don’t need it or deserve it.
Plenty of other things to be mad about :P
I heard a data miner found some leather chaps.
Lol. That’s almost believable from the thumbnail.
The crocs give it away though :P
And that right there is proof that you have no idea how reality works. Just look up what happened to JC Penny. Let me spell it out for you.

Past (on the right track) Lbro (lost me) Iyctiiad. Am I missing something?
I really need to write down my builds. Noticed my necro was reset, thankfully the rest of my characters weren’t :P I just guessed on the Necro, but I’d be totally lost on a few classes lol.
