If you go inventions take as GM bunker down. You have descent enough crit chance for that and can get kitten heal from it every 2s + some regen every 2s.

The real problem for me here is that when you burst a pet down quickly so it cant use F2, the ranger can respawn it rather quickly with skill 3 on downes state, making them able to do it again.

Next to that giving thieves this kind of immunity would be very unbalancing. As an engineer I dont mind too much when the mesmer reflects a knockback. This means that the trait is in some situations more effective as others. Its the mesmers choice to take a trait, that is in this case more effective against thieves than others.

If you suspect an enemy to have such a trait, for example mirror of anguish, shoot a quick headshot first. It will barely do anything to you and then you can start the fight. It now is on 60s cooldown. Its a matter then about tactical gameplay.

You can try rabid/sinister with HgH. I also recommend using rocket boots then. It is amazing for creating distance and the burn is huge.

One of the reasons med kit doesnt work in my opinion is because it is based on healing allies and not yourself. This itself isnt the problem, but the healing is outshined by heals that heal yourself aswell as allies, such as water+ blasts or things like druids. If we happen to get a huge buff to skill 1 and make 2/5 AoE, we can actually get things like nomads goin where your role specificly is to heal allies and not having to heal much yourself.

Yeah, we are not idiots, this has been discussed as a method of controlling the sword on the forums for years. It doesn’t stop the fact that you still can get locked into the animation at a critical moment when you need to dodge.

As far as my knowledge goes this is caused by skill queing m when you click to use your 2nd ability in the sword AA chain but click twice very rapidly, it will see that 2nd click as the click for 3rd attack. Most other AA’s dont have this. Thats what I was pointing at. I have to means to insult or anything and sorry if it seemed like that.:)

I have tried in dungeons but it seems really hard to use since it relies alot on waterfields. When your field runs out and want to place a new one, a guard for example already has a symbol down overwriting it. How do you manage this?

I played full zerk with defensive traits and 2 shouts
That actually was new playstyle for me and I loved it.

I did start with shouts myself too but I was quickly realizing if I wanted that sniper playstyle I needed the fury to make sure true shot would crit. So I swapped over to meditations for fury and got some teleports and condi cleanses along the way so that was also good for my build. It also helped that the medi trait is in the same line as the shield trait which, with the recent buffs, works pretty well for this build!

I mainly used Rune of the pack for fury uptime:) seemed to be enough for me. Ofcourse its personal preference. And yes shield is cool. Got some more synergy with aegis now, also from that trap with fragments

You mean you can’t dodge through slick shoes. I most certainly assure you others can. I know, I see them do it. I do it myself. It can be done. It appears you are demanding a nerf about effects you do not fully understand yourself. That is not particularly wise in my opinion.

I do not want to be mean to OP but this is kitten true. Gadgets are extremely underwhelming already.

Ive never encountered problems against someone with slick shoes. Last time I checked you could evade through it. Just watch out for the red circles.

Im with you OP! Dragonhunter is different yes, but different doesnt mean bad. Think out of the box, what you are used to.
I used traits to be completely defensive while having all skills, runes and sigils offensive. Gave me great damage while having fair survivability

Back to OP, nice post and I mostly aggree with you. Dragonhunter is a very nice spec (at least for PvP) and doesnt need big changes IMHO.

BWE 3 Guardian Feedback (Core/DH)

My feedback does not include all the skills and traits since I played with DH only tonight. However the things I experienced were actually pretty nice:
I played a ranged dps DH. I had scepter/focus+Longbow. Felt really powerfull.

Longbow
All the skills seem very nice to me. The only thing I would personally like to see is to slow down the movement of deflecting shot by about 20% to create a bigger scale of time where it can absorb projectiles.

Traps

  • Purification: This one needs most work in my opinion. I like the idea of the trap, but found it unrewarding to use in PvP. It needs a bigger initial heal at the least (3k initial – 5K trigger?)
  • Fragments of Faith: Oh…My….God…I love this one. I hope it is not a bug that it hits three times, because it is amazing like this!
  • Test of Faith: Unrewarding skill. It is hard to push enemies through because of the size and the damage isnt even that big. I’dd like to see a 30% damage increase and a smaller radius.

Traits

  • Piercing Light: Good trait, very solid, adds a nice daze, worth it as an adept.
  • (The place a trap on CC one): Again Solid trait, punishes enemies heavily for trying to burst while getting Aegis.
  • Remove a condition when blocking: Nice trait, helped me alot in situations and didnt force me into having condition removal skills.

I would actually suggest to increase the hammer damage slightly (about 10%). The actual improvement should be that it gives might for each enemy struck (this isnt the case right now. Or am I wrong?).
I dont think it needs a stronger power scaling but rather more base damage. This would make yhe weapon slightly better for builds with less power.

They really weren’t thinking when they gave engi a trait for +25% stun duration when engi only has access to 2 stuns, hammer 5 and Supply Crate. Seems like they should either bump up the stun duration increase to +100%, keep it at +25% and have it also apply to dazes, or throw in a “Enemies you stun are immobilized for a short period after” effect.

Wrong dude…net turret overcharge stuns and AED toolbelt stuns too. Not that they are of any good use :P
Anyway ye I expected higher damage, but Im fine with it.

Title does not say it all, and never should. Do you want the Juggernaut trait effect to work on ALL kits? That would be madness.

Do you want the Fire Shield from Streamlined kits to be given to all the kits on kit swap instead of the other abilities that breaks stealth or puts you in combat?

Do you want to invent a new Aura and forgot to say what it is?

You say “shininess”… OOOH you mean the Juggernaut Legendary weapon effect. Ya get in line, The Predator and Quip have lost almost all their effects, even when they have the weapon out.

Thank you for explaining, I also didn’t understand what he ment But indeed, all legendaries should have a few more effects. At least add effects on toolbelts.:)

This is the timestamp where they’ve spoken about this trait in the PoI episode about the scrapper. I’m not aware of any other occasion where they’ve spoken about this trait.
Please link me your source, so I can get the latest infos as well.

Until that, it’s a bug in my book.

Uhm… It just what the trait says. The thing you linked was my source. The trait says that it brings down condi duration by 20%, that is what happens. The fact that it stacks with -condi food and Mecha Legs is just very very strong synergy and not a bug.
If you want this to be adressed (Rebalanced) please post that in the Scrapper feedback thread and do not note something that is in your opinion overpowered but not broken in a bug thread.

I don’t take rifle into frontlining for a simple reason: dps is not all & rifle has barely any survivability. The issue is, the hammer’s consistent dmg is so low that it barely gets compensated for the high defense & mobility it offers, leaving it with a bursty setup that does not justify your spot in the frontline.
Again, the engineer will be more a gimmick than a backbone, just in this case it will not be high dps/low sustain, but the complete opposite.

Elite-specs were meant to compensate the classes for something their core-specs are lacking in. The hammer currently fails to fulfill this promise.

Take Rifle and bombs with bomb traits:
Jump shot in enemy zerg > Blunderbuss > Spam bombs with Slick shoes. Theres your frontline build. Been using it for ages and works perfectly.

Using the change notes for Rev as evidence the Engi hammer needs more damage tells me all I need to know about your intentions. You want a pure damage weapon (like Rev sword). That would be great, but it isn’t what we got. I disagree with changing what we did get into something else entirely. 50%-70% more damage on the AA? Seriously?

Yes seriously.
It doesn’t matter what you think my intentions are, I already clearly stated them. I want proper cleave-dmg for its AA, else its mostly long, defensive cd’s will not cut it in WvW.

And it’s definitively not our best dps option. rifle still cuts this by miles. 13k-14k from jumpshot and another 8k from blunderbus, paired with an AA that is hitting way harder than the hammer AA. Hammer was never intended to replace rifle for dungeons and thats clearly not what I’m asking for.

I would already be happy enough it it were on par with the warris hammer AA. You already stated yourself it would be awesome, so why contradict yourself? We have not “gotten” anything, this beta-weekend is there for us to find possible bugs & point out what went wrong in the design process, and the weak hammer AA is definitively one entry on this list.

- Hammer #3’s first leap will always go into the direction you’re looking at, causing it often to not be able to hit its indicated target, even if it was in range when triggering it & not moving at all.
- Adaptive armor also decreases condi-duration by 20%, giving us the potential to become completely invulnerable to chill/cripple/immob in WvW.
- Function Gyro has a habit to interrupt his stomp & follow the player if you move too far away (out of the 750 range threshold?)
- Gyros react way too sensitive to left/right strafing of the player, causing them to shoot off into random directions.

The Condi Duration on adaptive armor is not a bug, as it is supposed to be part of the trait. They announced this at the reveal of Scrapper. If you you want to change the fact that you can keep up immunity to movement conditions please post this somewhere else (I am not trying to be rude or anything here!)

Nothing wrong with hammer dps. With Marauder im getting about 2.5k, but other skills like 2,3 and 4 I get 6K+ while having lotta tankyness. Its fine.

Hey guys!

Here is the thread about bugs exclusively for the scrapper! Please do not post any suggestions or something that does not have to do with scrapper!

List:

  • Heal Resonator doesn’t seem to be working with Medic Gyro.
  • Rapid Regenerator tooltip not affected by Healing Power (The healing itself is)
  • Defense Field does not have 240 radius
  • Expert Examination doesn’t trigger on Net Turret (Overcharge)
  • Detenction Pulse does not reveal NPC’s in Verdant Brink
  • Gyro’s have a tendancy to attack enemies while not having attacks
  • Function Gyro does not destroy upon finishing on reviving, making it wander around doing nothing
  • Rocket Charge doesn’t trigger leap finisher when you leap out of the field. It also does not adjust the range to the target at the first leap making it miss when cast from short range. Also seems to be affected by movement impairing condition. First leap is in your facing direction instead of target.
  • Function Gyro interrupts its stomp when moving too far away.
  • Adaptive Armor reduces condi duration also by 20%, as its supposed to only decrease the condi damage
  • AMR not working with heal gyro
  • Stability from stabilasation core not always applying.
  • Recovery Matrix has no ICD making it stack high with Healing Turret+ Cleansing Burst
  • Hammer 4 acts weird, some say block lasts too long, I rather experienced it starting too late and ending too late.

I have just started testing so I do not have much yet. Please post any bugs and I will update list!

Yup that too. MDF will become worth it when:

  • increased radius
  • heals allies for the ammount you should have healed (it would still work when at 100% health)
  • trigger off Backpack regen

Also SD should indeed be buffed radius too, and IMO also better hp scaling (about 0,5 at least)

It seems V was not checking my reply to his post about MDF in the other threat.
MDF currently does proc from backpack regen & all other passive heals.
It’s simply bugged to not show up in the combat log properly.

I did check your post in other forums and investegated it. It does not heal properly as it is healing me for 117 without hp, allies are healed for 7. Thats not 20%

It was working just fine with correct numbers after the patch.
Gonna wait until my guildies come online to test it again in our PvP-arena.

Some questions tho: where did you test it? PvE, PvP, WvW? Were all allies lvl 80? If PvE, were you in a zone / dungeon that scaled you down? Did anyone have poison or agony on them?

This was done in the Crucible of Eternity. There was no necro there so it wasnt vampiric aura. No poison either.
I will also test again this afternoon and if it still happens I will show evidence, altho I am hoping to prove myself wrong

Since you have a high budget I at least recommend water cooling as suggested more above. When my pc starts lagging it is mostly because of the heat.
Pros:

  • less dust cleaning
  • much more efficiënt
  • no sounds from high rotating vent
  • Less heat = better performance + you can keep your window closed instead of your room becoming a sauna
