There are tons of opportunitys for 1-5 man groups in T1. Vastly more now than there were a few weeks ago.

Sorry but if you can’t handle high pop roaming, and I say this as someone closing in on 2k wvw rank from roaming/havoc in sub 10 man groups ….

Get Good….it ain’t that hard….

Can I see you take out a 200 man blob? In lower population servers roamers actually get fights. In high population servers they get run over by blobs.
Players transfer to lower tiers to get away from blobs so they can have real fights that actually require skill, not 500 people throwing their faces at each other.

ArenaNet please stop nerfing content.

Not everyone has endless hours on their hands to farm hero points. And some of us want to enjoy the content rather than having to run around the map purely with the mindset of unlocking new content as quickly as possible while ignoring the fun in HoT.

Reducing the Hero point cost was the correct choice.

I wonder, is everyone assuming you need 100% of the elite specializaiton to play it? This isn’t the case. The moment you unlock the track it is available. Now that said, yes you don’t get the utility abilities or the traits this way, making it somewhat less useful in something like WvW, but you do get the weapon/special abilities and thus a portion of the play style.

I haven’t even done map completion yet I had enough to unlock 40% of the line when I started the game yesterday. I am happy to report that this is enough for me to play PvE without feeling kitten at all. I can still do story missions and take on events in this style.

Please keep in mind its not that you need 400 to even touch it, its just you need 400 to get everything related to it.

You need all 400 if you want the unlock half the abilities.

I was really expecting to be able to use the new content (the elite specializations) in the new areas and experiment with them. If we are required to explore the entire place just to get them… what is even the point? Instead of being able to enjoy the new content and experience it at it’s full, I’m rushing around trying to find the fastest way to get these hero points so I can actually play the content. By the time I get them all, which will not be any time soon the way it’s been going, I will have already been everywhere and there will be no fun use of what I’ve just unlocked.

Basically:
Right now – Forced to rush through content and not enjoy it, only to unlock something that we will have little place to experiment with since we’ve already been to every location.

What I suggest – Unlock the specializations in the starter area, so we can experiment with it while enjoying the rest of the content.

I have quite a few characters that use berserker builds, but only 1 set of berserker ascended trinkets. What is the fastest way to move these between characters? Normally I use to my home bl to store them and then take them out on another character, but is there a way that’s easier than this?

Are grenades supposed to have their radius reduced…? It did not say so in the patches notes. It’s nearly impossible to hit anything without the grenader trait.

And I like how they nerfed AMR calling the 10 second cooldown a bug but never fixed the actual bug with it (cleaning burst)… and it really doesn’t help that every other trait in that line is bugged.

Has anyone else noticed that grenades often disappear when you throw them/clip through the ground and/or walls? I’ve thrown grenades directly at people and they just do nothing… which happens very often only since this patch. Before the patch I never had this problem.
I’ve also noticed that even when they don’t clip through the ground, only 1 or 2 of the grenades actually hit anything.

It’s absolutely a bug. This trait DID recharge cleansing burst before the patch.

The bug is listed there and Grouch commented that the trait was broken.

It wasn’t said in the patch notes but the area of effect for grenades was reduced quite a lot. They are pretty useless without this trait since due to the unpredictable movement of the projectiles they rarely hit moving targets. Even targets that don’t move all 3 grenades often don’t hit because they scatter so much…

Automated Medical Response is definitely bugged with cleansing burst. Cleansing burst is a healing skill so it should recharge.

Prior to the patch, I would get around 30-40 fps (which I’m fine with) but after the patch I am getting 10 fps that spikes down as low as 2. The game is completely unplayable. I am using the Mac client, I have made no changes to my graphics options.

I am sitting inside a cave by the way, and still only have 6 fps. Does anyone know what could be the problem?

Not sure if this has to do with it, but every time I start my game a massive update gets queued. It never finished and my game launches like a quarter of the way through it.

I don’t play sPvP but if they were op then why not just nerf them in sPvP like they do with many other skills?

There are 6 GMs with the power to monitor WvW in the live environment and all work directly under me.

6 seems like a small number to monitor all of WvW. Is this a test before expanding the team or is your data indicating you can monitor everything with just 6?

I’m not trying to be critical, just mildly curious.

Either way, I think it’s cool that we may see visible dev oversight when there’s a problem.

Great question. The total number is much larger, only those 6 and myself will ever be visible.

6 people… and I bet all only in tier 1 or maybe 2. Always seem to forget about the other tiers :/

Leaving scouts at important points and havocing is the way to take advantage of this. The problem is that the majority of my server doesn’t like or want to do that. As I said before, there is no incentive to scout. With white swords there is an option to run small or large groups. As long as one server choses to run all small groups, running a larger one will put your server at a disadvantage.
Before white swords forced havoc groups or any group really to fight. As long as there were defenders they would know their structure is being attacked and the attackers will be forced to fight to win over the structure. Havoc groups now have the ability to avoid all fights and resistance and ktrain away.
My guild used to attack keeps/towers to purposely attract people with the white swords so we could get fights. I don’t understand how someone could enjoy wvw without any good fights. Maybe it’s just the servers we’re up against, but they should be able to do well by avoiding all possible fights.

I suppose I should have recorded what I experienced with my guild last night. Since we had absolutely no fights, we decided to fortify and defend our home bl. During this time we saw havoc groups come, and leave within a minute. Some didn’t even try to fight and just waypointed, others left as soon as they died. There was only one guy who stayed, a thief that tried to kill dolyaks. Our night consisted of chasing around 1 person. When I went to ebg after that, Havoc groups in ebg were doing nothing but picking off people and running from fights.

My server has no more scouts than we had in the past. I have no clue what server you are from but on my tier there no fights and the same amount of scouts.. That’s just the fact of it, there’s no lying involved here. I have played multiple hours without white swords doing a little bit of everything.

Megablobs just facerolled everything with or without white sword and sent back 1 people to check whites. Now little teams have a chance.

This simple statement is all that needs to be heard. This is how WvW should have been in the first place. It was never meant to be this “everybody stack in two square inches and gain every friggin boon in game so we can fight the other giant stack with every boon in game.”

It was meant to be a chaotic battlefield filled with scouts and small skirmishes everywhere. This is the direction removal of white swords pushes in. Therefore, despite any possible negative repercussions (I could argue for days that such problems are very minor indeed), the removal is a step in the right direction. Any issues can be compensated by tweeks.

There are no small skirmishes… Only small groups sneaking where there is no coverage and leaving whenever they see a defender. There is no chaotic battlefield, as there are nearly no fights. There are not scouts everywhere either. Mainly because scouting is still boring and unrewarding. There is no incentive to scout.

I question how much WvW you play if you truly believe that’s how it works. On paper, it might sound like that’s what would happen (maybe). However, in practice, the exact opposite happens. Feel free to peruse some of the other responses in the tiered discussion of white swords thread, and you’ll notice that many of the posters from the outnumbered servers have complained about the problem I’ve just described.

Attacking the players instead of the argument… But if you wonder how much time I have played :

- Nearly every single day several hours per day for 2 years now. I have thousand of hours defending, building siege, scouting, commanding and running havoc groups

Now, I didn’t pop that it makes WvW more balanced out no where. I look at the situation and this is what I noticed. Every match up seems more balanced. Every server now have a fighting chance and every players are useful.

I read all the threads/posts and I’m not the only one that think that way. From your own matchup

I’m on T3. Found the change refreshing to say the least. Even though we came a distant second, it gave our server the opportunity to cap the winning server’s territory. Before this change, they would have come along with their zerg/blob & steam rolled us. Heck, we even got lord room gates down in their keep before the blob overwhelmed us. No way this would have happened in the past.
The non white swords are going to have little impact on PPT. It does make life a lot easier for servers with smaller populations to roam & cap without being wiped 90% of the time.

Not only does it makes match up more balanced but it also makes match up more interesting for a LOT of players.

Now, get out of the forum and go try it before crying.

The close matchups have nothing to do with the removal of white swords… And a lot of servers are still getting destroyed.
I’m also from ebay, and I know RUN is somewhat small guild and havocing is something you guys like to do. But guilds such as Woe and CoT want to have fights. Last night we both had zero fights, it was a horribly boring night for raiding. Without white swords havocing and defending is all there really is to do. We like fighting other guilds and zergbusting… Killing random roamers who don’t even fight and just waypoint when they see people is boring. With white swords we had the option to pick what we wanted to do. Find fights, havoc, defend, we could play wvw any way we wanted.
Pure havocing and ktraining is not what wvw is supposed to be about.

In no way do white swords benefit the smaller servers. The large servers are the ones who can afford to send scouts everywhere and defend. The small servers relied on white swords to check for attackers, since they cannot afford to send scouts.

I am currently in tier 6. Havoc groups don’t want to fight, they want to k-train. I’ve never seen such few fights in wvw. It’s literally just flipping and defending now. Reset was alright but tonight was horribly boring. All there is to do is sneak havoc towers and sneak past defenders, there are nearly no fights.

Hello, I am Oscuro of Kaineng! I personally like no white swords to an extent. First, I believe it makes hav icing and soloing keeps MUCH easier because no one knows what you are doing until it is too late. However, I feel that you should make white swords in a structure you are attacking unless you are outnumbered. This would make it a much more useful tool for small groups and it would make the balance between large and small population servers less. I mean this in the sense that if a large server outmans a different server on every map, than the larger server is going to have a mind numbingly full time having to sit in their towers, while it is easier for the smaller server to fight back since they don’t pull white swords when attacking and have to fear the larger server. Just my thoughts

The larger server is likely going to have scouts at most important locations anyway. The smaller servers will not. Therefore all that large server has to do is send a few people to the small server’s boarderland and they can take anything they’d like with little chance of being found. Not to mention that it is difficult for small servers to upgrade their things, meaning havoc groups will have easy paper towers to take. Having no white swords greatly favors the large server, not the small server.

No, I disagree with you.I like the new direction and 100% support it.

The old system had 2 PvP, 2WvW and 6 PvE ones.
Now it’s 4 of each.
PvE players had a lot more choices… People in PvP and WvW had none.Now it’s 4 of each which brings the different mode on more equal footing.

I’m guessing you don’t play wvw too much. In wvw there’s plenty of things to kill and items to be salvaged and events to complete. I was able to do 90% of the “pve” achievements in the old system by only playing wvw.
Same goes with spvp, you get credit for a few of the “pve” dailies.

How do you equip a finisher? I tried going into “finisher” on the hero tab, and double clicking the finisher but this did not work.
My character always uses the normal finisher.

Too far away seems to be a a step out of range, it only stays in the one place if I’m a very short range away from it.
It also doesn’t attack anything and just acts like it normally would, attacking anything I attack.

I still have 2 transmutation stones from back when they were used instead of charges. It requires 3 of them to be turned into one transmutation charge, but I only have 2. Is there anything I can do with these or should I just destroy them?

Also, I have a few random tri-key chest parts, not enough to make a key. Is there any use left of these?

Once again anet forgets that there are actually people on tier 5-8 servers.
Removing white swords is only going create a mini EotM. We in the lower tier servers do not have anyone to watch everything. We NEED white swords to know if something is being attacked. With this change it’s going to be impossible to defend and everyone is just going to start k-training.
Not to mention my guild raids are going to become boring as hell since everyone is going to be afraid of feeding us points…

How do I stop the trading post from forcing me to use the minimum price if I go too low?
This is extremely annoying because if an item has a minimum price of 6 copper, and I want to set the price to 50 copper, it will be impossible to do so since as soon as I press “5” in the 50, it will change it to a 6 since 5 is below the minimum price.

I am currently using a condition build on my engineer. It is full rapid with runes of the undead. I have 30 points traited into explosives, and I also use super veggie pizzas (too cheap for koi) so I have 66% condition duration.

I was thinking of changing things up. I could swap my runes of the undead for runes of the nightmare, which give 15% condition duration. I also would buy giver’s weapons, for an extra 20% condition duration. 66+15+20 = 101% condition duration.
So with this build I would have 100% condition duration increase. The downside is that I will lose roughly 300 condition damage and 100 toughness.

What do you guys think about this? Should I give it a go?

I wanted to change my look around, so I bought falconer’s armor since it looked good in preview. But once I used switch over to it I looked like a skinny man with a bra and huge skirt…

That should be under bugs not notes, it clearly says under the skill tooltip that it gives 2 stacks of might. Elixir H doesn’t give any extra stacks of might so it’s simply not affected by this bug.

When traited with HGH, any toolbelt elixir skill except for Toss Elixir H will only apply 1 stack of might while it is supposed to apply 2 stacks.

The type of bags dropped depend on your level, and how much you contributed to the kill. The level of the champion does not matter.
I don’t know the exact level range, but if you are level 20 for example, you will only get green bags at best. Also if you are a high level and you only tap a champion, you may only get a low quality bag.

CoF paths 1 and 2 are pretty quick and easy, and AC paths 1 and 3 are not bad either. With these 4 paths you can make an easy 6 -7 a day in a short period of time.
I make most of my gold just from casual play though.
