This is still a problem. I don’t understand why the developers are so quiet on this. It has been a year (almost?) since this was brought up. That is an eternity in the world of mmos.
What fun is there in begging people to help with dungeons? That is the opposite of enjoyment.

I think a Looking For Group option would be great. At least it would make the process smoother, instead of having to ask random strangers passing by or spamming up the general chat.

As for rewards, I really have no idea. But the game needs a smoother way to find a group. Currently it’s horribly antiquated and not at all well designed.

How hard can it be to implement this kind of feature, for people who are expert at programming and implementing functions? It’s a cakewalk! Prioritize here please. Please focus some resources on getting this thing fixed and we can all go back to enjoying the game again.

If you’ve ever done a dungeon, you’ll see that “expert at programming” is not a match.

Hmm, so in reality.. damage is reasonably balanced? I would expect thief to deal a little more damage than other melee because of how squishy he is, like a trade off.

Maybe its not as bad as I thought, its probably just the public’s perception on the classes, and that warrior/guardian is just the ‘easy’ way to faceroll dungeons.

My original point stands though… if my necro deals the same damage as a warrior, yet the warrior brings group might, fury, swift etc, or other group cleanses/heals, why bring a necro? The utility should be balanced better…

Maybe this post was over dramatic and unwarranted, I just got fed up with two seperate pugs today that were lead by experience dungeon runners(one was ele, one was warrior), and they both had the state of mind that necro is useless and i might slow them down.

Ive heard now that thieves deal more damage than a warrior, which I thought was not true, I thought they were equal. Ive heard that all classes are capable of the same damage, which I dont believe but I could be wrong.

If this class discrimination is just due to warrior/guardian being easier to play, and therefore more effective, then obviously this post isnt warranted,(sometimes public perception is far from accurate). However, I believe the obvious truth is that warrior, guardian, and ele are just set up to be much more effective in a group. They bring high damage, buffs, the heavy’s have great passive survival and cooldowns, and they all have strong support. It simply isnt balanced when you compare them to the ‘lower’ tier classes like ranger, necro, etc.

Ranger is a lot better than you may think. Thief’s single target damage is also way beyond anything else in the game (aside from Fiery Rush or Skritt Technology). Dagger Necro is fine, it just lacks group utility aside from Blinds really. When you hit 30k+ backstabs on a Thief, you’ll start to see and feel their potential.

All classes can do about the same damage. It’s a matter of what classes bring useful utilities in the situation you are going to be in.

It depends how you define “easiest.”

Technically open world group content requires more effort than a lot of line of sight strategies. It’s a lot of work making sure you tag as many mobs as possible.

I don’t understand your point, are you saying that open world content is auto-attack easy or are you saying that dungeon content should be auto-attack easy because open world content is?

Open world content requires you to stand at max range and run around.

You can strafe back and forth at 900-1000 range and never be hit by Alphard or any other ranged attack for that matter. Having the NPC tank for you is a tricky one to find, and probably not something people will find on their own. It’s also faster just to kill him normally.

Engineer.

The engineer has a lot of burning and bleeds, and can hybrid damage well due to how easily they can stack might. Grenades can do plenty of direct damage (for a ranged weapon) as well as condition damage, and many people will use that fact to the fullest. Teamwise, the engineer has spots of support and utility, from their fields (water, light, fire, poison, smoke), to their finishers (mostly blast finishers), to their ability to reflect projectiles, to their large access of to immobilize. Whether you want to heal, stack might, or stealth, the engineer probably has what you need. Defensively the engineer has access to permanent vigor, plenty of blocks, and an evade. They have some blind fields and blinding abilities, too.

Necromancer is second. Though necros can do more condition damage in AoE with epidemic, and also have more reliable AoE conditions in general, the necromancer suffers from several problems. For one, they lack active defense (blocks, evades, vigor), so should the enemies all focus on the necromancer they will crumble. Though the necro has statistical bulk with DS, that is only good for small encounters. Second, the necromancer doesn’t have nearly the utility, with their useful skills in their arsenal not being particularly stellar or unique.

Epidemic is strong, though. Don’t count necro out of the fight immediately.

The NPC dies or doesn’t come into the room. Wait at the beginning of the room for everyone in your group and then you can move into position for Might stacks etc.

I only have 1 set of armor for each character and it is Berserker’s. Even when I pug I use that, and I use the same builds that I would use otherwise.

I know players that have full arah armor and weapon sets, refer to it as their “favorite” dungeon, and still believe that spending 10-15 minutes on lupicus is normal and acceptable.

I hate doing arah with pugs. Especially pugs who solo everything. they will run everything by themselves and never wait for the whole group therefore, gaining the ability to call everyone who dies in the back bad.

People in general who solo everything and have 0 group support kitten me off to no end.

I solo a lot of things and kick pugs that don’t know how to play (whenever I pug, of course). I don’t care to teach people to play anymore. Getting kicked from path 3 after soling Lupicus since the pugs couldn’t manage did me in, and now I’m just out to eat souls.

I really wish we had dungeon finder like they do in WOW. I love playing GW2 but it would be so much easier if we could go into a line for a dungeon instead of having run around looking for a group and then them being mad if you are not experienced enough for them.

Although I doubt they can fix that one easily, because the sequencing there is a little more complicated.

Jumping Puzzles are endgame content. Being AFK for every boss in path 2 is not a jumping puzzle.

Pre-nerf you could poison her with a Thief and DPS her while she was invisible. It was pretty easy. Now you can just AFK her.

I think they’ll change all of the Fractal weapons to Ascended stats TBH. Especially since they have the untransmute stone now. I’m sure the Fractal skins will have random stats though and be random levels.

I need to try Mace / Torch. Can I get any with MF stats now?

Double click your wayfarers gear and choose the rabid stat. Rabid is the most op stat combo in the game for a guardian, you should have no problem beating TAFU with so much burn damage.

Before the patch, I used to take my Wayfarer’s Staff Guardian into this path for farming, but now my Wayfarer’s equipment has no stats. I can’t do the path anymore without stats. Help.
