Sooner or later, an inspired team is going to have the backing to make something different, and MMOs as we know it will shift.

And this mmo will die in 1-2 months. For mmo to exist you need grinding or constant flow of new content. Like a whole wowlike expansion every month.

Meta does not equal 1 option. Just look at MTG, you certainly have a meta, which is comprised of a handful of different decks. Here everyone is running the same deck.

If you don’t dodge your hp will melt knights stats or not. And if you do dodge hp will not go down that much anyway + ps build has a lot of hp by default.

Same here. But coe p2 never bugged for us to begin with. Looks like this is random bug.
Can confirm that lupi needs glasses. I triggered his bauble attack and he spawned it waaay behind me. I did not moved at all so it can’t be his skill delay he just misses. Everyone including npc was in melee except for me.
Mai is a bit strange too. Her teleport shot misses completely sometimes. You can just walk to the side and she teleports to the wall.

First, as someone who plays for a month or two, then takes a break, then comes back…etc, I have noticed that very little seems to be “fixed” between those times. In dungeons, the “meta” is still to bug out, exploit, and overall abuse the system. It’s been the same since day 1. A week ago, I offered my AC group 5g each if they could beat Kholer without stacking. They, all 80’s in exotic/ascended gear who claimed to have run the dungeon a million times, all died on the first big wind-up. I tried my best to help them, to no avail. I was rezing the entire time. This is how long after release, and Anet still has a system where their players still can’t beat the first boss? This right here, dampens my spirits for HoT. They simply can’t design a dungeon that isn’t exploitable and it’s ruined the “dungeon” portion for me.

This is wrong on so many levels that i will not even explain what is wrong with this part.

Second, the “meta” builds. I totally understand them. As a game that was touted as getting rid of the “trinity”, all I can see is that they ended up removing 2 of the 3 pillars in that trinity. It’s all about DPS. If you aren’t 100% dps, your doing it wrong. To make matters worse, this meta has made classes like necromancer almost useless by design and yet there has been no effort put into making a necro relevant outside of WvW zergs.

First, if you are 100% dps you are doing it wrong. Second, whole point of combat system in every game ever made is to kill your target and because of that you need to deal damage. More damage = target dies faster. Third, lack of trinity made all builds in gw2 viable. Necro is a good class in pvp, wvw and pve.

Third, “trains”. The massive events being on a giant timer means all you do is chase one world boss to the next world boss to the next one to the next one…. However, it doesn’t even end there, looking at SW, SW sets up the expansion in my mind as a giant grind. All you do in SW is chase one event to the next. Nothing really feels “important” either. I defend X camp, repair the wall, kill the next wave, repair wall…for what? To grind some more?

World bosses have set spawn timer because devs decided to make megaserver. Not that bad of feature actually. Everyone can just look online for a spawn time and go and kill boss they want without wasting time on waiting for spawn window.
SW is a baaaad map. It was made for people that want to grind nonstop (i would say majority of playerbase since anet uses “metrics” to see what players want) so yeah you fix walls and kill waves to fix more walls and kill move waves. New maps probably follow same design which is horrible but yeah majority wants grind.

Third.5, World boss designs; So, they’ve made “some” progress on this since release (Teq), but overall, the bosses are all basically a giant walltrap that doesn’t “do” anything. Shatterer is the prime example. Since release, Shatterer has been a giant wall trap that Anet didn’t even have the decency to put on a wall. The strategy has always been “stand to his right” and, like any flame trap you’d find in a dungeon, Shatterer can’t do anything to anyone standing to his right. These giant, massive, visually impressive world bosses really don’t do anything, they don’t threaten anyone. Pick a world boss though, and that’s all they are, a wall trap that you have to try to die to…

100% agree with this. Some world bosses need complete rework and i think devs learned what was wrong with old bosses and new ones will be designed better.
But i doubt that they will rework bosses like Shatterer because it was confirmed by the devs that developing new content >reworking old content.

Fourth, “stack here”. Stacking, nothing breaks immersion more than “stack here” tactics. WvW is “stack on commander” dungeons are “stack on the wall”.

Stacking on commander in wvw is perfectly normal and will change only when boon sharing radius will be increased to 1200+ range. And stacking on wall in dungeons is useless (unless you need to los some trash mobs) so that’s l2p problem.

Only eles have high ranged damage. You can melee every boss in fractals but many groups prefer ranging everything because it is a lot easier and you don’t need to do much.

I don’t mind hands, sepia (my post processing is always disabled anyway) or sound. It is bloody aviators cap that is bothering me. At least there is way to remove it for some time

If you die at a world boss it is always faster and easier to just wp and run back than just lying on the ground being useless, upscaling the event and endangering other people who will try to rez you.
Never saw any problems with rezing in open world though. Everyone seems friendly and happy to rez if you fell from a vista or died from the mobs.

Withdraw 500G on Sunday, 500G on Monday and you’re ready for every precursor. Yes, you have to wait a day. I know, that’s hard, because you could be dead the other day (as you said), but I guess you have bigger problems if that would be the case.

He could do that in a minute for 2 years and now he needs to wait a day because reasons.

I used lava tomb a lot when I was learning how to ele. Even if you made a mistake you still will be able to do a decent damage and your party members will get a fire field to blast.

Hobosacks are not actually broken to begin with. Yeah they are ugly and hurt eyes but it is more of a “i don’t like how it looks” problem.
And seeing how fast they are fixing removed idle animations (which is actual problem, very minor but still) i would say hobosacks will be there for at least few years.

From what I saw so far revenant is horrible profession and should be nuked from orbit but we only saw half of it so maybe other half is better.

By the way even if you are not altaholic i would recommend using all your character slots if you still not doing it. Extra bag slots and node miners are always useful.

Crafting now is so easy it is just absurd. You have automatically generated guides to level your profession fast/expensive or slow/cheap. Materials drop everywhere. Gold is insanely easy to get. Ascended armor is the only hard to get ascended thing and it is not even that much better than exotic. Weapons can be crafted relatively easy and trinkets are almost free. Soooo… where is this big problem?

For those of you wanting the put the ability to store your gold in your personal bank, I have some news for you, and you’re not going to like it. You have problems if you can’t keep yourself from spending the gold in your account, it’s called impulse shopping, and if you do it in GW2, then you do it in RL too and really need professional help

If you bother to read the Gold Sellers notices, they all start at 1000 gold for $XX.XX, by limiting the amount they can transfer to 500g a week, you’ve effectively, at the minimum just doubled their cost of doing business. More likely you’re looking at a 66 – 75% increase in cost of doing business. Think about that for a while.

Don’t know how they work in gw2 but in other games gold sellers use materials or rare items to transfer gold. Nothing will change for them. This only hurts legit players.

500 gold is too small amount. Anet really shout promote 2 step verification system. It saved my account at least once and many don’t even know that it exists.

Single player AAA games need some changed files while for mmo you basically need to create your own server which is costly, time consuming and impossible if server stuff was not leaked. And even if you got your server set up and client is working fine you prety much guaranteed to get in jail/huge fine or both.

Would a website based Armory akin to what WoW has to offer via it’s Armory be a feasible, possible & wanted feature for guild wars 2?

It would be a lot of work without a doubt, hence the (?) at the end of ‘suggestion’, would this be something the community would want?

I don’t want some website with other players gear. I want ingame inspect option.

  • It was much easier with fewer people. I’m unsure about this, but in my first encounter (minutes into the beta) I had a lot of players there (looked like 15+ all hammer revenants) and we only stunned it twice. In successive fights I had fewer people (around five to 10) and it was much easier to succeed. Maybe people learned the mechanic better, maybe the scaling could be adjusted.

Problem is with skill that all revenants use for stun. That chain utility skill is bugged or has almost no effect in upscaled fights. In 20ish player fight 10 revenants barely removed 20% of the bar yet my icebow 5 removed almost 50%.
It is a bit less horrible in 5 man fights. 4 revenants barely managed to cc him in time but my icebow 5 nuked whole bar in 1 hit.
