I doubt they want to ruin their unique combat system.
All classes have their healing/tanking traits and utilities. Freedom of customization just washed out these borders. Revenant’s non existent customization and main mechanic just made these choices more distinct.
By the way… taunt in gw2 is a “reverse fear” condition, not some tanking utility.
10 reason they will have torch :
1- Maguma jungle is dark and all, they need fire to see where they go

Get fractal skins. You will get few whispers here and there in pve and in pvp people will hate you even more for killing them. All skins that you can craft or buy lost their “wow” long time ago. Pretty much only fractal skins have some of it left. Mainly because you can get them only in fractals.

Doesn’t sound like a scam if they are only asking for character name. Did you perhaps post in the thread saying how you didn’t get into beta? They might have mistaken it that you got a portal, but no access.

I just got email from anet support.
“Because the beta event has ended, we’d like to offer 1,000 gems as a token of apology for this error. The nature of this error means we need to manually verify your possession of the Portal, so we need a bit of information before we can deliver the gems.”
Info they need is character name that has portal or approximate date of portal deletion.
Now the interesting part. I never received portal or contacted support.
Anyone else got this or it is some sort of a scam?
Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic and extra bag slots are essential gem store items. Maybe character slots if you an altoholic.
Now do they want me take hits or not!? I mean all this active combat talk and yet they intoduce tanking gear.

Even in dungeons zerk was not always meta. For quite some time people were running tanky gear in dungeons. That is before they learned how to play.
In a non-trinity system where all classes can fill all roles trinity encounters lead to monotony and metas.
Monotony and meta is part of all games after people figured out how to put content on farm. Lack of any updates to the dungeons just made it a bit more noticeable in gw2.
Aegis has no threshold. It just blocks 1 attack and disappears. Be it 1 or 1 million damage. Changing core idea of a boon (block only one next attack of any kind and go away) just to shoehorn some “diversity” is not ok. Well… it is ok if threshold based aegis is added to specialization.
The pure-DPS zerker approaching being bar-none the most effective/efficient way to clear dungeons? Without might stacking it might not be nearly as viable, or at least not optimal for EVERY fight.
How is nerfing damage will make highest damage gear less effective?
If (for example) the amount of damage absorbed by Aegis scaled with your toughness (making it an active stat instead of an entirely passive one), you’d see people considering where and how much Toughness they can squeeze into their build without sacrificing too much damage. There would still be a sweet spot, but it might vary more from player to player depending on how much they rely on that particular defense.
Aegis block next incoming attack, it never absorbed any damage. Protection, however, could work with active toughness.

You will NEVER have a WoW like raid in GW2 without the Holy Trinity, not a complaint, just stating facts. WoW raids are designed for the Trinity, I am having a really rough time envisioning how they (Anet) could make enjoyable raid content (on WoW’s level) without any form of Trinity.
It will never be close to a WoW raid standard …
No one is asking anet to copy paste wow raids in gw2 lol.
Tradeable as in directly between players without trading post? It can be easily done between friends via mail.
20-30 eur over the last 2 and a half years or so.
After anet NPE’d leveling they added small popup at level 50ish that says something like “You can use combo finishers in combo fields”. That’s about it.

SW toxicity is simple. Dead ppl never port and upscale events for rest -> Events fail. Fix sould be simple.
please. dead people are inactive people and therefore the event get scaled down accordingly to the amount of active people playing.
From what do you derive that conclusion? The received wisdom has always been that the more players in a combat zone, alive or dead, the more the opposition gets scaled up.

It scales down but delay is way too long. It was around 5 minutes when I saw research about it months ago.
Learning his fear animation and using stability skills works just great. Or if you are too lazy to do that just ask all guardians in stack to slot Hallowed Ground and Stand Your Ground.
Add more mobs like in SW that have high toughness but susceptible to condis. Makes for more useful hybrid builds, less zerker.

Well timed aegis is extremely useful (you have 3 btw). Stability is a must have boon in many fights. Blind is great condition. Wall of reflection is essential in some dungeons. And all this condi removing skills guardians have is extremely helpful. All this + good damage makes guardian very good profession.
More power = fast dungeon run is a common misconception.
The only thing with the WS F2P thing is that it’s supposed to go F2P this fall, it’s still sub until then.
Which really confuses thing, since I have a feeling HoT will land around the same time (something this fall). I wondered about the overlap, too — seems odd, given the same parent company.

Break bar works like defiance. Only difference between them is that break bar will regenerate. Conditions that will affect it have no damage and are not affected by condition stats.
How hard is it for zerkers to include cc and conditions in their specs??
Conditions that will be considered CC and good old CC skills already included sooo i guess very easy.
Take the kholer fight in AC for example. If the break bar is strong enough, trying to stack through kholer could turn into a pretty daunting task. Forcing the group to kite, actually dodge his grab, so on so forth. I just see a lot of potential here
Four icebow 5 at the same time is a very hard hitting CC that will break any boss. Even if it will be nerfed to the ground we will be able to use blind. Thanks to ability to reapply it very fast with thief and sandstorm from ele break bar will melt in few seconds. And if break bar will be so strong that 5 players need 1 minute to break it people will just ignore it. Pull in corner, drop wall of reflection and kill it the old way.

This is definitely a melee weapon. Data mined placeholder skill names fit axe or sword. I think it will be sword. Axe is too “barbaric” for eles imo.

A lot of people are asking the same question. GvG arena would be nice.

Side effect of this fancy “horizontal progression”. Was good in theory but meh in practice.
- No world channel
World channel will definitely not work well with megaservers but I would loooooooove to see custom made channels. Like linkshells in ff14.

Kinda fits with this new “Jungle exploration” theme in HoT.

It boils down to this… Current bosses can be killed, for the most part, one of two ways.
1. Melee (fast and dangerous)
2. Range-kite (slow and easy)So long as option two exists we can never have a challenging encounter. If there is some EZ mode option you can default to, it completely ruins any challenge.
That’s one thing I like about the mordrem troll breach boss. He is pretty punishing to melee players due to a fast moving semi-complex aoe pattern and also punishing adds, but he has a massive aoe attack that kills everyone at range that even a double dodge won’t save you from. Unfortunately there are still ranged safespots. A boss like this could easily be tuned to eliminate the safespots and could be tuned to do his AOE ranged death attack more frequently. Could also be given a 20% increased attack speed. Could be given about 25x more HP. Could be put in a 10 man instance. Could be given two more phases with different mechanics in each phase. Could be given amazing rewards for being beaten.
One can dream.

I would like the option to toggle what kind of PVE dailies i get, being forced to Fractals isn’t something I would like to do. I’m not a pvper either.
This might come as a surprise but the PvP dailies do not actually require any real PvPing due to the existence of custom arenas setup(by players) either for dailies or for rank farming. You could probably get them done in the time between two world bosses.
Believe it or not, pve only players don’t even like to hop in custom arenas. I know I hate it. I did it for a short period when I was in a guild that had a custom arena for that purpose. But I always felt I was bothering people asking to do the pvp dailies, so I stopped.
1. Check what classes have daily winner.
2. Hop between different “rank farm” arenas till you end up in winning team.
3. Follow big train of players running to the middle point.
4. Press auto attack few times.
5. Pvp defender and pvp killer completed instantly. (If you need daily capture just join losing team and cap point nearest to your spawn. Or wait till next round and cap a point at the start. )
6. Always press “volunteer” when you see a pop up on the left side of the screen.
7. Wait till the end of the round.
8. Daily winner completed.
Takes 0 effort and less time than openworld event achievements. It is probably a bit different in NA but still as fast.
But isn’t world boss farming – abusing the game? Why people, who doesn’t give other players to have fun, aren’t banned?

There is a way to “disable” her rez ability. You must not let her die. To do that you need to rush to the first champ as soon as possible. You will get aggro and mobs will just ignore Elen. Would not recommend doing it though unless you can solo mai since pugs will end up dead at the start of the fractal.

But, to your point, those aren’t raids. They are good world boss fights; much better than WoW WBs, but are not raids.
They are raids. Instanced group content isn’t the only form of raiding. There is also raiding in pvp.
It’s the only form of difficult and challenging group content. World bosses will never be hard, so long as they’re balanced so random Joe with 5 kids and 2 jobs can also participate and get full rewards.

I heard it has something to do with weapon swap. Like when you start pick up animation you swap weapon/use kits/swap attunements.
2: Dredge bomb part, I was able to do a 9 in 1 bomb drop but don’t know how it happened exactly, does any1 have a concrete way of replicating this?
Now that’s interesting. Maybe you spammed pick up button and bombs multiplied in your hands? I saw bomb count jumping from 1 to 4 before. I though it was just a lag.

Well… everything in mmo with sub fee is made to squeeze money from you. You should be allergic to mmos in general.
GW2 and GW1 never had raid and never squeezed money out of people.
They don’t have a sub fee.
The problem with the word raid is that it is associated with the endless geargrind. This endless geargrind is the core of the sequeezing money tactic. (stopping means you slack behind, and will never recover).
Raid is a big group of people killing big bosses in an instance. Nothing more. Devs decide what rewards they want to give. In gw2 this rewards can be anything from a title and some tokens to rare weapon/armor skins.
That is why I asked how you think coordinated group content would fit in GW2.
It would fit really well. Guilds would stop being just a chat channels.

This is not a guild mode. After guild spawns the boss everyone can join. You just spend guild resources so other can leech from you.
So I truly think there is added enough and it gets more then enough attention.

The only problem with this content is the same as with all other formats in the game. It doesn’t reward as much. The reason is that GW2 doesn’t want the geargrind.
They don’t have to reward gear. Just look at the fractals.
tl,dr: there is content very simular to raid allready in the game and people don’t do it.
Zerging world bosses is not the same as organizing guild raid for rare loot.
So the only reason Raids in other games are popular is cause of the reward/geargrind.

Any human wannabe ai can and will be abused very hard. People who complain that los is abusing will be horrified when they will see what can be done with advanced ai. It will solve nothing. Good and solid scripted boss mechanics, however, can be made really fun and bug proof.
