So far in every dungeon I’ve run the strategy is the same. Everyone follows the one guy who knows the map, we find a little corner then stand on top if each other and spam all our skills while standing there.
It turns dungeons into a mindless and pointless affair. Most of the dungeon’s contents are never seen or experienced by players and player skill is not rewarded as there is no skill involved in standing still on top of everyone else and just pressing the 1-9 keys.
You are 100% right. There is no skill involved when you are being carried through everything.
I have loved this game ever since it started. There are very few things that could make me quit. This stuff comes close.

The Heroic Chests were items given exclusively for paying (either cash or gems) for the upgrade of your account to the Deluxe or Heroic (not sure which atm) edition. While I could care less, I can understand I suppose that those who paid for this item are maybe going to be slightly irked.
From what i saw so far only people who paid for heroic chest got it again.

Strange, I participated in the stress test, created three characters and played through the beta and didn’t receive and single chest.
Hmmm… do you have deluxe edition? I asked few friends and only ones that had beta invite AND deluxe edition got this mails.

I guess we’d have to define" time-gating." If we’re talking about things like recipes that can only be made once a day but you need more than one to craft certain items, then I don’t think there are many recipes in the game like that.
This is called “time gate”.
If by “time-gating” you mean something takes time to acquire, then yeah, most things in the game are time-gated since many items like legendaries, ascended gear, dungeon sets, PvP/WvW ranks and achievements, even a lot of mins and skins, etc. will take time to acquire.
This is called “requires effort”.
Getting that 1 piece of armor that drops only from specific mob in a specific location when planets allign is called “grinding”.

Well dulfy.net has a lot of achievement and openworld content guides. gw2dungeons.net
has a step by step guides for every dungeon and fractal. gw2crafts.net has automatically generated crafting profession leveling guides. Oh and build in /wiki command.
Current “end game” is silverwastes/dry top farm, fractals/dungeons and wvw/spvp
because filthy casuals dont wanna learn the tells of about 200 unique bosses and would rather survive by sacrificing damage than memorizing when to dodge
and there are oh so many filthy casuals
The only thing filthy here is your language. Casuals are the prime market of the MMORPG genre.. The only reason why you can run full zerker is because everyone skips everything and abuses high ground and stealth to take off agro from mobs.
Because of this, dungeons are the worst part of the game.
Skipping is part of a design. Stealth is a skill that you can use. Mob leash range is a thing in every mmo. You can kill everything in the dungeon in any gear.

Example
- An enemy is going to kill your friend!
- You use taunt
- The enemy stop attacking your friend and goes after you, so your friend can move away and you efficiently saved his life.
That’s why it doesn’t need to be longer than 3 seconds. It’s not suppose to be used to tank something, it’s just another effect that can be used against the enemies and it’s up to us to find kitteneful way to use it (like i did with that example)
I might be wrong, but I believe that a stun, or a knockback could be used to achieve the same result.
Not with the brand new defiance system. All your knockbacks are useless now and only reduce break bar.

We already have air trait called Soothing Winds. 7% precision to healing power.

Getting access to a PvE-focused closed-beta through PvP. Legit.
Getting “Dungeoneer” title by only playing pvp is legit. So why not this
Sure it sucks but instead of just being negative about it, give them ideas of things they can do to fix it.
Well its not our job to make fixes but ok. Move boss spawn 1 meter closer to the center of the room.
Looks like it drops only from event chests. In 4 hours i saw only 1 drop.
Friendly reminder, this is still an issue please look into this as soon as possible.

That problem should be fixed by balancing NPCs. From what i saw they are all useless dungeonlike dummies.

i assume icebow 4 going to get a 70%damage reduction just like FGS.
70% damage nerf and cd increase from 60 to 180 would put it in the same level as fgs which is an elite. From simple utility skill to a skill that competes with elite… this is a buff!
Looks like it should be PvP/PvE split then. No reason to nerf LH in PvE.
Split will confuse new players.
No one uses LH in pvp anyway so i don’t see any reason to do anything with LH. Well… buff would be perfect but i doubt that this is an option.

Character model limit/quality can tank your fps really hard. Try setting them to normal.
The higher your achievements points how more difficult the enemies shall be. The dungeons are scaled to the highest achievements point

Fall damage traits should be a mastery or merged with revive trait.
Gw2 is solo oriented :/. You need party only for dungeons/fractals. Same with guilds. They are basically chat channels. You need guild only for guild missions.
160 slots is more than enough for me where do you get so much junk? I farm sw from time to time and still have around 30 free slots.
Arguably, speed-clearing is another problem that the current system motivates and isn’t the way dungeons were intended to be played.

If you hover your mouse cursor over your skill bar or hp orb all ground targeted skills will cast right under you. Same if you just click on the skill.
Old skill points in excess of those earned by leveling and skill challenges will be converted into crafting materials for the Mystic Forge. Items and activities that were previously repeatable sources of skill points will now also provide that same crafting material.

As for why they all agreed to kick you off the team is probably because you made them feel like you were going to kick them off the team for not fitting your criteria and they did it preemptively themselves. You probably made them feel insecure when you asked them to change to heavies one of them start the kick, the other two figured it may be unfair but if they dont agree probably it will be them off the team hence they agreed.

As for OP I dont know what happened but I have a feeling those 3 additions were not friends… if 3 friends want to do dungeons they’d start their own party most likely and the chances that they all join the same group at the same time is kinda difficult.

If you make ground-targeting compulsory then chances are that I’ll be changing my entire build, and not for any good or positive reason. I’m sure that it’s incredibly useful to have ranged wells, however it’s not useful to me.

Looks like it will work like this. You get points by doing current skill challenges and can spend them on skills and traits. In the beginning you will have to choose what you want to unlock first but when you finish all skill challenges you should have enough to unlock everything.
Right now we have 189 skill challenges in pve. I assume they will be converted 1:1 to hero points. All remaining skill points that you got from openworld will be converted to some crafting material for mystic forge.
some of us do not want to be forced into Ascended crafting.
with stats being removed from traits and put more into gear, will the gap between Exotic and Ascended increase, because I hope it does not?
I hope it will. Finally ascended armor will justify its cost.
