You already got far more worth than what you paid for, what are you complaining about?
$60-70 AAA game usually has around 60-100 hours, sometimes even less.I wasn’t complaining. Just know what we will be expecting from Anet in the future.
We can expect good content and more expansions as well as people to complain they have to pay for them. Sorry but using the living story as a tool to build up to something as big as an expansion is a good thing.
They said you earn them in the jungle but that they will be used all over the world, so no, we haven’t done anything in the jungle yet so could not have possibly earned points to be retroactively given.
My information is based on interviews from the mouths of the great Colin and Mike O’Brien. They state that the Heal, Utility, and Elite skills will change with channeling of your selected Legend spirit. That’s much different than an Ele changing between Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, and Heart. Pro SPvPers will be able to adjust their in-combat battle tactics more quickly than other classes.
Think about it. One Legend could be good for anti-Melee, and another could be good for anti-Ranged. The possible versatility of this class will be miles ahead of anything we’ve ever seen. That’s why I’m hoping there’s time to consider all possibilities before Open Beta comes around. A faster Beta balancing = faster HoT release.
Could is the key word. Try focusing on the concept and base your judgment on that, we literally have nothing but that to work with. Assuming that it will be OP cause you imagine there could be too many good skills or what have you doesnt really reflect anything about the actual class. Simply, we do not know, and you have to wait, so calm down, speculate, and have fun like everyone else.
its not some random reddit post that has confirmed no spears or new weapons it was actual interviews that have said so.
My assumption is that each weapon will represent a legend and be who we are channeling and if not that then it will be tied to the F skills.
That would make no sense as devs claimed " I think the Revenant is going to be one of the most diverse professions that we’ve ever made in Guild Wars history and it’ll allow for a lot of different, fun, and unique play styles as you master each of the legends."
and having the channeling tied to your weapon supports that concept perfectly fine. Utilities and such will still allow for various other channeling though.
Probably already said but its been already confirmed that no new race will be coming in an interview. They may in the future but as stated, something to the effect of, ‘the addition of a new race would not fit with the changes we are making during this expansion’. Maybe in the future but definitely not now, but perhaps never in the future, honestly what does a new race even bring? Nothing but some personal story that would have to be shoe-horned in.
My assumption is that each weapon will represent a legend and be who we are channeling and if not that then it will be tied to the F skills.
Thinking about a new race, it wouldn’t really provide much in terms of high level play. Sure, early on you get to explore a new racial city and deal with some low level racial things, but after that, it’s all about elder dragons and the threats they pose. Personally, I am fine with no new playable race because in GW2, race doesn’t provide much of a bonus compared to other MMOs where a certain race + certain profession is expected due to racial bonuses.
As for the new maps, yeah, I am a bit disappointed that Anet isn’t adding a ton of new maps since exploring the same map(s) over and over again but in further depth through small nooks and crannies gets boring for me.
For the new specializations, I can only hope that they lead to faster balance patches for the base professions because many traits and utilities go unused in PvE and PvP (I’m skeptical that most players would take the “on downed” traits).
WE dont have a number of maps yet so how can you be disappointment by an undefined number?
Is revenant a celestial stat profession?

From the way it reads, and that there are certainly more then these two people to challenge, then celestial would cover all bases and would seem to be the way to go. The main question is how often will you change the channeling? If builds really stick focus to one legend then perhaps not, but if like the ele and we can switch on the fly then thats likely the way Ill be going with stats.
I can’t deny that the news of no new race has me extremely disheartened. While this indeed doesn’t add any mechanics, cosmetic changes are a huge part of Guild Wars.
That said I’ll try to keep an open mind.
A new race really wouldnt add anything to the game right now.
Interview: 1 specialization per profession

Well I think, they want to look how well these new Specilizations will be received and what they really add to the Gameplay, so they are trying with just one per Class, but if this is working, I can imagine more Specs in the Future.
Also just One Spec for each Class doesn’t mean, that this has to be just a little change. It depends on how Anet is going to implement them. Doing it right, it could be more like double the Classes, doing it wrong, well, just a few new Skills, nothing more. We will see how well it is going to be implemented.
I know many are pessimistic about so many things but as this is written it seems like the entire class, traits as well, will be rather different from the base class, not just a new weapons and some utility/heal/elite skills, practically instead a new class.
We don’t know how many maps they will include in the expansion…
We already know its 1 new map
1 map… many zones
Its 1 zone
“Explore new open world jungle maps”

Maps. Plural.
Yeah, they will want to make it seem like there’s more, but its 1 map as Colin has said a few times.
Now I know you’re trolling.
Maybe he just doesn’t understand the difference between a map and a zone, it’s a difficult concept to grasp for some people.
Yea it was clearly stated that there are 3 biomes, that each new map would have these 3 layers, but they never gave a number of maps, not 1, not 2, not 6, just nothing yet. It would make sense to add at least several, a new area like the rest of the map. To those who think ‘Maguuma region is already there’, let me blow your mind, it can be called the deep jungle, deep maguuma, whatever, a new region, not hard to grasp.
Also wait for some info, we have only a basic overview that has at least 6 weeks to for that overview to be fleshed out and months after that for additional details, we only know the surface so far. What we do know however is by no means small, idk how people can be so close minded, so negative with them giving us what they have revealed so far.
I created the piece before the patch
it was in my inventory
It was altered before I even started doing the content.
Once again in the new zone the lag is literally unplayable and this time having trouble connecting to log in servers.
Is there an issue with some servers at the moment or something? How could it log in perfectly fine in the past few days and now have issues. No changes on my end.
Yes, I’d like some information on this as well, I can’t access the game.
Host File editing was the only solution for me here. What I don’t understand is, the game ran perfectly fine for a year or more, the previous patch, fine, the previous patch to that patch? Fine. Today though no, just utterly stops, maybe got 2 or 3 files before no connection ever. I figured, ‘alright I’ll wait a while let the servers get a chance to let me in, let others download first’. Still nothing a few hours after though and then there’s this whole mess off an issue. What suddenly has changed? It doesn’t make any sense. As someone else pointed out, its not like thousands of people suddenly edited something about their computers, the only change has been these latest patches and a sudden inability to connect to download.
I’m wondering the same thing. Unfortunately the answer is impossible since your Queensdale won’t necessarily be the same as mine or the same Queensdale in which people are RPing.
For all I know (and what seems pretty likely) is those say 3-5 RPers who would normally be in the same Grove are now split into 3 different Groves, wondering where the others went.
I want to post this again for anyone who hasn’t watched it. I sincerely hope at some point ArenaNet gets a chance to see this too.
WoodenPotatoes talks about the impact of the megaserver on the RP community (starts at 9m30s)
Shouldn’t the mega server mean all our QD’s are the same though? I guess I dont understand them enough but Im on TC, there used to be RP literally everywhere. I’d even be farming in Orr or something and run into a few people on an adventure. Now its just nothing, despite people of the same server supposedly to have priority to join up with each other more.
I just want to know where people are RPing now. I see some in Rata Sum but its often jokey sorta non-serious things, and DR seems to be abandoned except maybe once in a while. Queens Dale, rarely is there anyone in the bar, if anything its only concerned about the train there any more. I just can’t seem to find where everyone went.
a lot of people seem to think you need the crystals for score, so you just by pass them as they collect… you either have been unlucky in finding a race like that or you are one of those people going for the crystals.
They only need to change that fight with Frizz…namely the golem pull and the small laser being faster than the big one.
You realize that IS the point, for one to be faster, for you to have to pay attention and realize one is catching up to you and you are gonna have to jump on a box.
took a while to finally upgrade my guardian (Had been leveling up and gearing out other characters) but my first actually has something good to wear now.
Wearing:
Human T3 Helm(off in the image)
Kodan Shoulders
Whispers Chest
Human T3 Gloves
Arah Leggings
Human T3 Boots
I don’t get why people thought there never would be an expansion just cause they didn’t make one a few months after the game, they’ve said they would be before but expect it like a year or two later.
Probably wont happen but if you can’t just level another character and get new armor then well, if you switch from say light to heavy you will have to buy new stuff again anyway. Race will not happen though due to racial armor and the story.
The idea of the periscopes and what not is great and its fine/fun for high level characters. Low levels in the area starting out however can get majorly screwed over and its annoying. Luckily when I was blocked from a vista by a scope and then a flame event in wayfarer I was able to get two people in map chat to help. Aother game did something similar, Secret World and the Mayan Zombies. New players would get harassed everywhere, even in places they thought were safe or previously were safe(like these events in GW2 are doing, that vista never had anything to prevent me from getting to it before.) Good in concept, bad in execution, but only this part of the events, personally I’ve enjoyed it all despite this annoyance. If anything, take from this and try and alleviate the problems seen here.
Thats not what I would take from that message. They are working on it, however long that might take I don’t expect them to fix it on an individual basis. I hope they fix the white objects issue first honestly.
So this has been an issue for sometime, I see others have had similar issues but they know what hint it is they are missing and simply, for whatever reason, can not complete it. If you take a look at the image I have all hints completed and yet 82/83 no matter what. I have double, triple checked the hint list and there is nothing I have not done yet. Been there for months and I have sent in a /bug as well as a support ticket in the past. Going over tickets I missed a suggestion to post here so, well, I am now.
You used to be able to transmute cultural armor to different races, they stopped that. To allow you to change your race would bring up that same issue they already fixed. Race is something that has a lot tied to it already its not something that will be able to be changed. If you want another race then you are going to have to redo everything on them and deal with it.
Professions are another thing that are unlikely to change but I would agree its more likely then race changes.
opinions are based on personal experience, almost everyone I know including myself has seen that, after removing MF they were getting better results, so take it or leave it but most people on the forum will at least say its not worth it. MF only increases the possible rarity of things though not the amount that drops.
So far my friends and I have found coins in chests and only chests with no rhyme or reason to what will and wont give a coin so long as it is a chest. We did a bunch of jumping puzzles and some mini dungeons.
I have to disagree with almost all your points, each event has added something worthwhile, however they may not have been perfectly implemented… they learn something and improve each time. Flame and Frost has been great, only the beginning and perhaps amount of time between was not so much. This new alliance going on is very interesting to learn about. Also, I don’t get the Dredge hate, I also apparently haven’t been around those who hate them, personally I love the concept of em and would love the rebels to truly join us all.
Anyway though, class balance is where I agree, it gets annoying, but its not making the game bad/unplayable/boring.
well it may lead to an event of some sort to do with the char and norn we get to team up with soon but its nice to know it was not there and I am not seeing things lol. I couldn’t find any info on it before.
I can not recall if this is a new place and its only been something to catch my eye after the updates for this event. On the mountain there are even the steam vents which were definitely not there before.
I’m sure the issue has been raised but I’d like to put my voice in regardless. Bigger and active guilds will have little issue completing the requirements to access these events however smaller or less active guilds have little chance. It took my guild of 20 or so friends 4 months to get architecture 5, how on earth will we ever afford these events? This was something we were really looking forward to as well, it got a few excited to come back to the game only to be disappointing. Initially it read that it simply would be there for everyone, day one without this cost to it. I’m not sure how to fix it but there has to be a better way… not having to go in this specific order just to get to what you want either would be nice.
There was never a queue for world events before guesting came out.
There was never an large amount who cared to do them before either, the update included an upgrade to these events making people want to go. You can continue to ignore that if you please, but the fact is when a lot of people want something, they go do it. When a large number appear you get lag and over flow. A large number can appear from its own server when the price is right, which it is here. A large number is only a small portion of a high pop and active server.
No one is arguing that people are server hoping, but the impact that it has is the issue. People are claiming without basis that Guesting is the issue, ignoring the FACT that the chest also came out with the patch. If you look at it plainly, there is evidence to back up server population being the major(guesting will contribute to a smaller portion) rather then the newly introduced guesting. Again, look back, high pop servers have always experienced overflows in various areas as well as laggy events like jormag on TC. So there is more reason to say its high population then guesting causing the problem, but that’s not what people care about. they believe that that one guester has taken their place and has ruined things for them specifically, aka being selfish. I would love to see a-net turn off guesting for a day or two just to prove the point about high population, or rather to perform an experiment to stop the argument.
You have no solid proof to support yours -.-
Fact is, both factors play into this problem. Only devs know the real statistics. And the fact that have yet to deny it’s an issue may mean there is validity to the problem, and something they are looking in to.
There is no easy way to test thing but based on previous evidence, servers like TC saw overflows in a variety of areas where people congregated for farming or otherwise. These places, like LA, have had overflows almost constantly. When you look back to when the game started overflows were rampant everywhere as we all experienced the content at the same sort of pace and filled maps on a server that is absolutely without question high population. The new update returned the issue to due to a single cause, I can say this without fault, event chests having better drops have made people, guesting or not, want them. So even with a small group of guesters a high population server is always going to have a large portion of that population showing up, thus with or without them it will be an overflow or lag issue until people loose interest, just like they lost interest in certain places over time in the world as the game moved on and the overflows from them vanished.
Guesting is not the issue on high population servers for the overflow, the high population and the allure of the new drop rates of event chests are. Guesting allows a small number to be added to the huge numbers from the server already there to be added. On a server such as TC for example, there where plenty of times you would be in overflow on any sort of map due to high population, before guesting. Simply making it so you can only get the event chests on your home server is fine and will remove some people from joining other servers for only that reason but it will not stop the lag or overflow ‘issue’, which btw is only an issue due to people using the timer system to find out exactly where and when to go.

pkilla- you ignore some o the facts of the event. Everyone was told in team chat not to attack the event. Then afterwards people bragged about destroying the event on the forums, clearly they knew about it and purposefully attacked it when it could have been a short peaceful event between all three servers to show, ‘hey, even though this week has been rough, it’s been fun’ and most importantly show respect. Those who ruined it showed they have no respect and are immature. They gained nothing for doing it other then to brag about it on the forums, and the result was attacks directed at a single server which did hopefully shut them up, but it’s doubtful.
This better be a joke, alt+f4 is not an in game function, it is cheating the system and they are looking into fixing it.
You were unlucky, this new chest has the exact same chances as the previous.
Speaking of emotes as I see a few are, I find laugh and dance few and far between. I find, in my case at least, /bow being used more, to enemy commanders and in return. In fact just the other day I got caught up in about 5 FA and fought as best I could while moving to try and get into a keep. The battle lasted for a while and there was some actual fighting not just escape attempts. Most of the group bowed to me after they got me and I would have done the same.
You two servers got paid doing this? Alliance FTW?
Page 2, for reference, but this picture, I have to laugh. That is someone from my guild, I dragged him into WvW that day because several annoying Alt-F4-ers from FA were running all over TCBL and we were hunting them down. If you were said Alt-F4-er then its pretty obvious why even a Yak would want you dead.
Anyway he doesn’t go into WvW enough to even know about any alliances if they were to exist anyway.
What do you not get though, there is no alliance going on.
10 gold and I can get 1… seriously. I can not earn enough gold without being lucky like others to keep up.
I see a few coming in to say the whole server is not complaining, and we know that, however despite that fact this has become the joke about this match up and is a stigma on your server. You really do need to get the complaining to stop if you don’t want people to stereotype your server with it.
To me those complaining sound like the same sort in any game though, CoD for example. Everything is lag, or the other guy had some unfair advantage, and on and on and on. Excuses to explain losses rather then admitting failure and moving on from it. Thing is, every server will be fighting 2 other servers, we all have to deal with it not just one. The forums never represent the entire attitude of one server but, when one sort of ‘attitude’ sticks like this it’s hard to shake. Prove your own people wrong, I mean the one night you guys had taken the lead for a while, its obvious you can fight back.
What is ascendent stuff anyway though we don’t even know yet, or if something has been discovered… well I haven’t seen it and would love to know.
Basically you ought to get yourself a group that can communicate, preferably verbally, but so long as you all can get your points across and have a clear leader to call out targets and plan routes through things you ought to be good. People complain about dungeons a lot in this game but they are the vocal minority, the dungeons are not that bad explorable or story, only on occasion are certain parts truly difficult and it’s usually due to massive health bars. If one plan isn’t working it’s best to try something different, and if all else fails you can slam into a wall over and over and win. Again though most important thing to consider is your team, your ability to communicate, and the roles your party is playing. While everyone can do everything you do need people doing different things. One of the best groups I have running in dungeons with me is two tanky and hard hitting guys to get stuck in, three ranged, one support/heal based, others dps and control or heals. We’ve easily gotten through things with that sort of basic set up.
