I agree with what Sojourner says, even if one single person on any given server hacks then the entire server is responsible, how many times have you seen hackers and exploits take orbs etc..and the very same server pretty much supporting them and actively defending to keep what is essentially stolen?

Sure you can go down the asinine route by blaming Anet, but in all reality it still boils down to individual responsibility – even if Anet banned some of these hackers, more will just take their place – W3 needs some significant fixes to prevent what is going on right now, look at all the threads ~ how sad this really is to say – there probably isn’t one single W3 matches which are being played out fairly and if these hacks are allowed to exist, it’ll spell doom for the game in general.

No matter the end-score this week, I see GoM as third place regardless because of the sheer amount of hacks used in the past few days, very shameful indeed.

WvW needs to be taken down until all the exploits and hacks are fixed ~ just look at all the threads about orb hackers for instance, it is totally out of hand now and I know, people are quitting enmasse. Alot of people came to GW2 for the W3 experience and hackers are destroying it, there really isn’t such a thing as a fair fight – even without the hacks/exploits it still has a morass of problems such as mis-matches/nightcaps etc – all these issues make for a really poor excuse of PvP.

I would rather have them take down the W3 server and wait a few months for every single ‘known’ exploit/hack to be fixed than to go through another few months of constantly hackers ruining the experience.

It needs to be changed, another reason I ran into last night was a bunch of bots rangers guarding one particular poi ~ and I’ve seen gank squads guarding vistas and the notorious jumping puzzle.

What needs to hapkitten simple ~

100% Map Completion (PvE) needs to be moved to Explorer Achievement.
Reward: Bronze Star + Title (Lets say ~ World Explorer)

100% Dungeon Map Completion needs to be moved into Dungeon Achievements.
Reward: Silver Star + Title (example: Dungeon Explorer)

100% Map Completion (W3) needs to be created an moved to World v World achievement.
Reward: Gold Star + Title (example: Battlefield Strategist)

100% of all three should be Reward: Purple Star + Been there, done that title as an example. I think this method would be the best for fairness and would reward players for exploring all the available content.

You also have to realize at the moment, high pop servers can and will guard Pois and Vistas, you really think a commander is going to organize a group of players to go sight-seeing?

WvWvW Latency problem tonight

Noticed significant latency and rubberbanding problems tonight. This issue started after running close to one of the guard respawns, this forced a reload of the zone for me (essentially the loading screen popped up for a second) and I was in a different location, after that point I been noticing significant latency problems making participation in the WvW currently going on, almost impossible ~ We’re talking nearly a full second of skills firing off ‘after’ activating them, even auto-attack acting weird because of the latency.

I asked in chat about it, other people reporting the same issue ~ Wondering if others have noticed it?

How many times have you or seen any solo person ‘attempt’ to get the poi/wp at the far end of this perfect kill zone? This particular area might be ‘fine’ on high/full population servers, but on servers without decent populations or low populations this area is an absolute deathtrap and literally prevents progress. The reason, like I stated ~ it is a perfect kill zone.

Earth Elementals – Root : Risen Trebs Bomb you = dead If your lucky, you might get half way solo.

And its impossible to take out the mobs/trebs solo because there are simply too many, and by the time you’ve taken one one set, more respawn. Not to mention, the trebs on the other side of the stairs can also reach you. Honestly? Should be an achievement just to get to the other side of the Promenade.

Engi's are weak, need help

The Engineer is the weakest DPS class trust me on that. I’ve messed around with several different builds, and I’ve still come to the conclusion that the best dps build is centered around condition burns and that dps again is still far too low compared to other classes.

Engineer is basically a PRO class, low survivability, low dps. Even in full exotic gear the DPS isn’t anything special. Essentially pair up a Ranger VS Engineer; the Ranger will utterly destroy the Eng in sheer DPS number crunching, not to mention the Ranger has far superior survivability. The problem is that the kits don’t really scale well at all, and since that is where most of our key DPS comes from, essentially it is fundamentally broken.

Improve dungeons (LFP Finder, Rewards, Incentives)

They really need to change the way tokens are rewarded, I hate the change that tokens are now only rewarded upon completion of the dungeon, not that we was exploiting the first couple of bosses like other people was. Sometimes, just don’t have the time or something happens that prevents completion so the entire run is a total waste.

Currently, Dungeons for most people are just a waste of time and this is another problem that needs looking at immediately. What the OP mentioned are some good ideas.

Exploration Mode needs a daily lockout period Basically, you can run each path once per day however, with that change significant rewards need added.

1) Loot Loot Loot! Exploration mode loot is tragic, spending significant time clearing trash and downing a boss to be rewarded with a blue junk…really sucks. Exploration Mode chests needs to have a minimum of Rare Level items in it, consider even having unique looking items in these chests for adding incentives. Also increase the drop rate of rare materials like lodestones etc from trash mobs, anything to keep the player interested.

2) Put the token rewards back on individual bosses, add in a small chance for tokens to drop from trash mobs, this will help off-set the stupidly high cost of token gear. I like working for upgrades, but the current situation is more like slave labor.

3) Like what the OP mentioned, having daily dungeons for story modes // Weekly dungeons for Exploration path clears, rewards the player with extra tokens. Daily Dungeons reward say 20 tokens, Weekly rewards 50 tokens.

4) Fix all the speed run exploits asap ~ this is partially why everything is so messed up because of people exploiting. The legitimate players suffer because of exploiters.

Hence the lockout, so you can’t reset exploration mode. Each path “Once” every 24 hours seems quite fine, everyone wins then.

Dungeon Tokens per Boss not per Dungeon

I think the change to dungeon tokens being awarded upon completion of an entire path is a bad idea and needs changing back to being rewarded per boss downed. Quite often many groups/guilds hit a brick wall and its starting to feel like a waste of time even doing exploration mode.

Another reason, our guild was running SE exploration mode earlier totally unaware of the maintenance since its not displayed on the launcher, we don’t actively check twitter feeds/Facebook/this website for updates constantly, so again two bosses down before maintenance hit and pretty much a wasted run.

Suggestions;

Limit the amount of tokens that can be earned per day ~ Have an exploration mode lock out.

Give each boss tokens, this way exploration mode at least feels somewhat rewarding when things don’t go to plan. After all, blues and the odd green from chests just don’t cut it for rewards even with decent MF. And for heavens sake, improve the drops on exploration mode.

I can understand the reasoning, they don’t want people in all the dungeon gear a month after launch ~ sure thats fine, but you need to let people ‘feel’ like they are progressing, sometimes GW2 makes you feel like you’ve hit that brick wall.

This will never happen. The achievements are called achievements for a reason. If you don’t want to achieve them then don’t ask for it to be removed.

It has to happen otherwise people will quit the game, trust me on that. This achievement is and will remain completely impossible to attain for many many players not without transferring servers many times to whatever the currently dominating server is, for any of the borderlands that particular player might need, for all the servers that are low ranked, the players that don’t want to leave the server/or can’t will simply put, never get this achievement.

And speaking from personal experience, I’ve already seen many many people from our server leave because its no longer dominating our WvWvW group.

Sparkie, most people do not want to transfer servers to get a PvE achievement, I’ve posted about this issue too, the bottom 5 servers for instance, will have an absolutely horrific time getting this achievement because of constantly getting destroyed in WvWvW. The map completion for WvWvW needs to be changed, not only will it make for a better PvP experience but they’ll be less PvE only players in the queue.

Your wrong Luna, getting map completions in the borderlands depends on one thing alone, and that is how well your server dominates. Very few of the poi/vista can be gotten without any form of PvP. Sure, like you said…you can wait until your team controls it, but again, that highly depends on your servers PvP capabilities and look at all the grief/flames/arguments about WvWvW and servers dominating/night capping etc.

Essentially, what this achievement needs is simple ~ they need to go. Otherwise, I will tell you and Anet one simple thing, a threat or simple truth actually ~ people will quit the game over it once they realize that this achievement is all-but impossible for them to get it. Alot of people are already reaching what is called ‘end-game’ and in all honesty, Anet have done alot of hyping up lately, but its all hot air ~ end-game is really about grinding zones, getting your 100% map/Story modes complete and then, grinding gear in no particular order, for many players getting a 100% map is important and if players feel like its impossible, they will complain on the forums and/or just simply quit.

Server PvP domination is the only sure fire way to get Been There, Done That! Title, no other way possible, and it needs to change asap. Look at some of the really low ranked servers, honestly no one on those servers will ever get that title not without server transferring, which makes the server even weaker and population shrinks even more.

Look, like with most achievements ~ it shouldn’t be easy but it shouldn’t be impossible either or require ‘luck’, this achievement needs to be changed. The best ways to do that would be to remove the WvWvW map requirements from the achievement, or failing that ~ all the poi/vista should be accessible at all times regardless of server domination, meaning vistas inside keeps should be moved outside etc, at least that way there is the slight chance players on low ranked WvWvW actually have a chance, the only problem then would be griefers guarding them (Trust me, it happens)

Also, in closing ~ You think its bad now? Wait until Free World Transfers End and see this problem really explode into something nasty.

I do both but when I’m actually trying to get poi and/or jumping puzzles in the WvW I am actively avoided combat because of obvious zerg tactics, I’m also pretty much 100% guaranteed that if I want that title, I’m going to have to leave my server and join one that is currently dominating, which I really don’t want to do either. I have all my own server map complete but the other ones, basically I have to wait until either our server dominates again or wait and hope Anet changes this, or obviously quit the server.

Just as a comparison, on our server (Ehmry Bay) I’ve seen a total of two players with 100% map completion, and I’m willing to bet money they server transferred to do it.

Black Screen/Unrecoverable Graphics Error in Black Citadel

EVGA 460 GTX+ Graphics Card driver, frequently getting graphics corruption and/or black screens in Black Citadel, I’ve reported this several times in fact, had this problem even in the beta clients. Currently using driver 306.23 ~ I know it isn’t my GPU that is causing the problems because everyplace else in game works flawlessly, and other games work perfectly too.

I am running a dual display, however this is disabled during GW2.

I was looking at the requires for the Been There, Done That! Title and for many players acquiring this achievement will simply be impossible because of WvWvW, look at all all the grief on many servers which constantly lose? They could never ever get all the requirements for each of the battlegrounds at least not without changing servers many many times, which again leads to even more people quitting servers.

I propose that the requirements for this are simple ~

Remove the requirements for Been There, Done that achievement for WvWvW content and create an entirely different achievement/title for completing all the borderland map completion. This way, the PvE players get there gold star, and PvX players get a little extra, everyone wins.

For some classes, getting badges is rough whilst for others (Ele) its pretty easy. I think one of the problems is that quite often, bags can quite easily be hard to spot etc. I think the badges should be automatically rewarded to the player instead of a random drop in a bag that the player may or may not actually see.

Night Capping and YOU

Statistics…Statistics…Statistics ~ That is what wins any type of mass PvP and WvWvW is no different. The (average) population of any given server makes a huge difference in this game, not “Skill” As I see it nightcapping or almost like an legitimate exploit against low/medium population servers or even servers who have significant peak time players but very little off peak.

Lets say Server X vs Server Y vs Server Z; Server X has a full queue; so does Server Y but Server Z only has half the average population so X + Y will zerg against Z because simply put, its easy for them to do so. You also have to realise that server populations also don’t mean anything either because not everyone goes to PvP. Obviously things get even more out-of-whack during off peak times when server populations drop as people are sleeping.

There are fixes to this problem, but would require some very significant changes in order to achieve somewhat of a balance.

1. Change how world transfers work; once every 24 hrs is fine, but a timer should be in place so the player who transfers cannot enter the WvWvW queue until a set time after transferring.

2. Caps on queues should be in place to prevent any side having a player advantage. Example; new round starts – 50 Players from Server X enter queue, 56 players from Server Y enter queue and 120 players from Server Z enter queue. X + Y have somewhat balanced numbers in the queue, but Z does not ~ so the cap should be set at 60 per side until enough players enter the queues so it can re-balance.

Also, by some chance one side loses a significant portion of players during a match ~ they should receive either buffs or extra guards at compensate.

3. Off-Peak times, reduce the capacity of WvWvW and restrict players from entering based on server population, change auto-balance to reflect this. Nightcapping then should be less of a problem.

Finally, words of wisdom ~ PvP is inherently unbalanced, balancing is almost impossible as they’ll always be uncontrollable factors, so the best way forward is simple, expect to lose; but play to win.

That would probably work, if Anet actually implemented it ~ for now though, at least in the near future all of the WvWvW match-ups are going suck for alot of players. Failing that, they could always shut down WvWvW during off-peak hours.

The main problem with Ebay is simple, there are only a few dedicated WvWvW guilds on our server, and even less at night which is where most of the more hardcore servers strike, not counting hacks and dirty tricks. Ebay also have a problem with server jumpers, oh no we’re losing [insert world transfer to x] granted this isn’t the only server with that problem.

Full Servers = No Night Coverage

Yes and no, even servers which are not ‘full’ also have this problem, essentially any server that doesn’t have a full WvWvW at all times, isn’t going to do well and will lead to more and more people server transferring.

Our Server, Ehmry Bay(Medium/High population) is a prime example ~ Was fighting against two low population servers for easy wins, we move up 1 rank and now fighting against two High/Full population servers and now our server is losing badly, two reasons ~ Our server has no off-peak/Night crew and secondly, people using the world transfer to move onto the ‘winning server’ which has had another effect of our server going back down to a medium population ~ most evident is the lack of overflow now, I haven’t seen it in over a week except in Orr where our server has increased bot activity.

The easy fix would be to change the way servers are matched against each other, not based on rankings but a mixture of population/queue times & average number of players in WvWvW at all times. Because everyone knows it, WvWvW isn’t about skill, its about statistics.

One of the main reasons I haven’t even bothered to explore Orr yet with my 80s because I know, they’ll be massively bugged ~ I’m assuming that because of the sheer amount of bugs and issues in all the other lower level zones that need to be fixed first, I’m guessing they’ll eventually get around to fixing them ~ until then, I’ll be playing my alts, I think for now, patience is required.

Updating guild recruitment thread with important information. We will be planning on freezing membership soon as we reach 50 active representing members online, with at least 30 or so members being online at peak times.

Lucky Stars is a casual guild and such, we do not wish to become a power guild with hundreds of members, the logistics of handling such a guild, not to mention the drama fallout when things go wrong ~ it is just not within the constraints of what Lucky Stars is about, so if our guild is a place you can call home, please join while we still have open membership.

Konnichiwa Nobuko genki desuka, Lucky Stars girudo ni sanka suru koto wo kangaete kudasai – I am learning Japanese at the moment, we have several fully fluent Japanese speaking members in our guild too. So, I am sure you can fit in with Lucky Stars
