HoT difficult is comparable to old Orrs difficult. If anyone remembers old Orr, you would get mobbed downed by risen and everything crippled. Players adapted to that place but it was nerfed and changed later on. They were no new zones as difficult as old Orr until HoT. Some players asked for hard content and elite spec make the HoT zones very easy. The only issue I had with HoT is that it was to short. The depth of HoT is enormous so A-net expected players to replay the zones a lot. Still maps like AB are the ones that every player likes, instead of maps like TD that are extremely hard to navigate without WP.
Yea siege does cost money but the price of siege will increase if creating a permanent version of it uses hundreds of super siege. Also the idea of it consuming basic siege to give 5 supply every 15-30m would still give normal siege value. It just is extra effects that should make player want one and give a long term goal.
What does everyone thing about the idea of ascended or legendary siege. It would get a permanent siege item with a unique look. It should add 5% more damage than superior siege or a special effect for that specific siege like passive 50% damage reduction when on the siege, stability, or using the siege’s hp as a shield. It could add an option when you are holding it in a bundle to consume a normal piece of that siege to give 5 supply(very long cd).

Its old concept art but very good. Houyi – Bow of the ten suns its very colorful. Most of the effects have already been thought of.
D/F Lightning rod build using arcane/air/water or a S/D burst build air/arcane.
They thought it would get nerfed before LS 3. Now I do not think so.
Their has been no talk about bring that broken aspect of the game back. Their has been talk about creating a new wvw bl and more scoring changes.
Buy it. Never think about forging a precursor unless you have thousands of gold. Its to random to reliable MF a precursor (under a 1% chance forge). The expansions precursor crafting is best if you want to slowly make progress on a precursor.
A-net did boost the supply of leather with the new LS3 map. After players get the items they want from the map they will leave and the supply of leather/cloth will drop down. T6 leather is still very rare, the others(leather/cloth) not so much. It still cost the same amount to gear up a alt now as it did at the start of HoT. Players notice the high leather prices more than the lower cloth prices.
Look at the research done by players on wiki they averaged a lost of gold on every attempt. I had a 3k gold winning streak when I got the vendor. Then I lost 2k gold and decided to stop. The vendor is like a free personal merchant only without the harvesting tools.
I look at Hot as a set-up for the next expansion. Hopefully its HUGE instead of a few maps. I am sure they learned from their mistakes with HoT. Still the mastery system should enable them to easily add some content.
Its a goal to get the legendary you want or get all of the legendaries for you main or craft that guild hall globe. Its interesting exploration the first 2 times, then it becomes tedious. Do this to get the heart so on. Even with gliding I do not want to do map completion again.
Since I never worry about karma, I do not know if it is hard to get for newer players or if a-net did karma nerfs. That why is a bit low. I remember wasting 5million karma on Orr boxes before back at 5million now. Karma just never goes away even when I try to spend it.
You know that would be a very good idea, but it would have to be an enormous amount of karma since old world map completion takes a long time. Something like +500k karma to purchase only available if you have map completion done on your character and only for old world maps. Doing HoT map completion again was very fast.
I am curious how did you farm the blood rubies so fast? I am only getting a few during the meta event. Are you just mining with your alts?
I would prefer if A-net made them more desired instead of another slot in storage. Its similar to blade shards atm. They should make a high end guild weapon/armor set before giving them a material storage slot.

Gear: Celestial or Soldier armor with berserker accessories(until your get celestial).

Focus offhand enables you to became immune with (earth 5) and temporary block projectiles on your zerg with swirling winds (air 4). Focus has less healing than the other offhands. Dagger offhand give your mobility and burst. The tempest builds give auras that heal/cleanse to the frontline party and overloads provide extra AE damage. Arcane give your more dodges.

AB, wvw, and exploration keeps my karma from dropping at all. The HoT map events chains give a good amount of karma. I am still at that point where I do not even thing of karma as a currency anymore. Also, consider farming for the karma convertor, its cheaper now ~ 350g for the exotic hunter achievement weapons.
Yea some player failed to act in a timely manner. New legendaries were put on hold and I do not see myself craft anymore. I may craft a few with my alts using the gifts of battle I got before change :P. Still find it odd to complain about this change when legendaries are a long term goal 300-500 game hrs to make.
Not sure. I got my first legendary in the first 3 months of the game. I think I focused on BoH last because my computer was crappy at the time. I did daily JP and guild raids took maybe 2 week? Can not remember 4years ago.
BoH are still worthless to older wvwers. 10k badges and nothing you want to spend it on. Yes you can buy siege/wvw ranks, cultural armor at a discount(3000badges to save 50g :P). and some exotics/ascended items. What do you use them on when you have all of that? Still looking for long term goals in wvw.
In the long term magic find is useful (mostly zerg style event farms like in Orr), in the short term not so much. Will you notice it? Depends on how fast you leveled up magic find. You get more rares/exotics with high magic find. Cost as much as a legendary in greens(assuming you are not doing it the profitable way) or as much as a HoT legendary salvaging ectoplasm to get 300% magic find in luck.
Its difficult to say if maxing magic find will pay for itself over the long run. Its costed 1500g with greens to max. Overtime I had a handful of precursor drop, I rarely go a week without a exotic drop from a mob but I am a very active player.
They would only detect large groups something that a roamer can do not deal with or run from without prior warning. Map awareness and picking your fights is key to roaming on an outmanned bl.. I was thinking about the orb buff and bloodlust both were changed.
•Update Outnumbered buff to perhaps provide a minor bloodlust stat boost.
A-net had place stat boost in before but it only helps the winning server win more. Also Stat boost tend to make good players more powerful and some guilds may try to exclude player from a map just to get the outnumbered buff(if it was a stat buff). I would prefer if outnumbered did something else to help the outnumbered server. Like give your a scouting buff that shows enemy position if their are more than 10 coming to your, since chances are you roamer on an outnumbered map.
Well Eotm supposedly gains less wvw track pts than normal wvw. I do not go their at all its to boring. I just take a few camps/kill a few roamers and my wvw track bar is maxed.
Everyone has been acting like its the end of their legendary progressing because of the gift of battle . That is not even the hardest part of crafting a legendary :P. That’s why I do not feel for them. Legendaries are a long term project that are slowly getting the mats for. You focus a little bit on it every week and eventually you make it.

GW2 economy is global so prices are effected by the demands of every NA/EU player. Ecto prices have dropped 15s since players started to post about AB before that ectos were steadily rising. AB has decreased the cost on ecto, t5 and t6 crafting mats. The AB megathread has posted the same information its just a lot to read through.
He is not using water but earth in his build. Since it decreases the cd of his defensive abilities with focus. Mainly using that and lightning flash for survival. Focus eles tend to use build without water. The average ele just uses the tanky meta builds.
Well it rare because of how often players do TD and it being a low drop rate. I have done more of the other map than TD. Their are few achievements or long term rewards from doing the TD meta.
I do them if the dailies are not to out of the way or if my daily actives match-up with them otherwise they are not worth my time.
I am trying to remember what I used on that type of build before :P. Strength runes since you get a lot of might. Divinity/traveler runes, I used those for some extra survival.

Remember legendaries are a long term goal. A lot of players find it difficult to save up the gold to buy a precursor. Precursor craft enables you slowly make progress instead of always wasting your gold on random things. Atm its 100g cheaper to buy it.
I would prefer if they changed how blind works. Something like after the enemy attacks procs a 1-2 sec miss effect. One attack for blind is underwhelming knowing how fast some classes can attack. Its easy to miss that they were blinded.
As for lightning Rod, pre tempest I used it in a roaming build and it had more burst than FA. The Lightning Rod effect hits harder than the FA swap but its only useful in a D/F since it has the most cc. Attack shock aura take 4-5k, then I could knockdown or daze for 4-5k crits. With the current elite spec I see no reason to take arcane traits over earth/water ones.

Also AB has been helping the supply of t5 cloth/leather mats as well as ectos.
Probably when you see a dungeon where all bosses are condition spec, while doing stuns, mix with instant kill type skills(20k dmg). Its rare to see condition spec bosses and most of them have a gimmick related to the condition dmg they do. Most of the bosses are either tanks or glassy specs but to few condition specs.
Even with a tanky build I would not say they are unkillable. They have a lot of options for survival because of their low HP. Still if the ele is tanky they do low damage no burst. The reason why its fine is because how many viable specs do elementalist have? Before tempest elementalist used a bunker spec. Now their are no tanky amulets so elemental still use a bunker spec. Stuns, poison, confusion or just focus fire if they are using the current ele meta build low hp, alot of boons/removal/healing.
I would like it if I could swap bank tabs instead. The search option is nice but not being able to easily organize my bank tabs is annoying. Whenever you get a new bank tab you have to move everything around and the new tab is always at the bottom of the list.
Overall I think its the long term goals in wvw that get to me. Wvw fights are fun, playing to win is not, have winners predetermined put players off, and getting into long match-ups with the same server gets stale. Re-linking should fix this stale issue of bland match-ups, since every 2 month we will get something new. What long term goals do players have for wvw? Get Diamond Legend? It would take me the amount of time comparable to the time I spent in ALL of the mmo’s I have bought to get to diamond legend in wvw. Get 250k kills? For roamers this will take a lot of time but a few wvw leaders have managed to get this. The Reward tracks tend to be weekly rewards but nothing really long term.

I signed on for a bit in the evening during prime time on FA and wow, just wow. Outnumbered buff up and when I did see the enemy zergs it wasn’t that outnumbered.
Hello??? Competition where are you? Only reason this game is surviving, let’s be honest. But anet, satisfied with their game won’t help. Some other mmo puts a fire under their kitten watch them scramble.
Yea that the issue with NA WvW weekly it is not competitive. Hardcore players say they play for fights but casual player play to win. Its the systems that’s messed up, when low periods of time determine the match-up. It reduces the amount of people that want to play on that server so they transfer to another server.
It seems like server pride is one of the things that keeps EU stable. Unlike NA where everyone just stacks a server to see if it can bet another server. EU wvw always looks stable compared to NA wvw.
Wait, isn’t TC in Tier 1 to fight BG? All this transfering to TC happened just for this cause and now they hide?
BG has more coverage and they are the only t1 server that has SEA/Ocx atm. EU/NA is more competitive but still BG has numbers during those times too. Their is not a hour of time when BG does is not ahead or tied. RIght now YB and BG are focused on TC this week.

WvW is a competition were the winner is decided before the match begins because of coverage. Their is no incentive to focus on the larger server that’s going to win, so players transfer to that server just to win. People say they play for fun/fights but a lot transfer to a server that’s suppose to win so they get more unfair fights. When the victory pt system gets put into the game hopefully it will help make it a competition instead of a fixed match. A bounty system would help change the focus of players to target the larger servers too. Something that reward extra loot, reward track potions, rares, for targeting the winning server or taking hard objectives.
Players have calculated how much dps you gain by staying above 90% some of the time and the 10% dmg boost is HUGE. Its to the point where their are few situations were its not the best dps boost in pve. In pvp and wvw you have a variety of runes that are good. Yet in pve, scholar runes tend to be the best in most situations.
So much for letting us choose the way we want to play the game, instead of making wvw more fun, they decided to funnel all those that need the gift to grind 8 hours for it to boost the wvw population, lazy game design there. Put the gift up for sale in the vendor again.
This just in Legendary require you to play all game mode. Who knew? Who keep this secret from us? Why are we finding out about this now? :P
No. Yes their players which buy gems to get gold for things but hardcore players do the opposite too. Spend hundred of gold to get gems for A-net items. TP tax takes gold out of the game too. I remember it something like 1/3 of players buy gems. I do not feel that Gem-Gold adds that much gold into the game to cause inflation.
-Rifles and Pistols do not match Elementalists thematically IMO; too much technology, not enough magic (Pistols work for Mesmers since they’re duelists)
-Maces are too much of a “soldier”-type weapon for mages to use; this is reinforced by the fact that no non-soldier class gets to use them
-Torches seem extremely redundant for a class that can conjure fire at will. Besides, how does a torch’s fire interact with dirt, air or water? All those three are used to PUT OUT fires, lol.
Rifles and pistols can use magic bullets. It would be more concentrated than a scepter/focus. You are right it does not fit the theme of a elementalist. I always think of the caster from outlaw star.
I look at a mace elementalist as a less focused elementalist. Its more of you buffing your mace with the elements to strengthen it. I see it like your attune swaps animation on your wrist but on your mace.
Torch would be interesting too. Elementalist control the elementals so they can keep a fire going a torch and make it more interesting. Water/fire steam like attacks, Fire/air explosive like attacks, or fire/earth persistent lava like attacks.
Edit: Now that I think about it a torch could be one of the most powerful condition spec eles. All attune would have some burn skills. Scalding hot water burns, lava is just liquid earth and air just increase the flame.

Its still easier to defend a t3 keep than a t1 keep, so servers will try to hold onto the area which they can defend easily. Getting ppt per cap will make ninja caps more useful. Instead of 5 roamers flipping a keep, only to have a massive guild zerg come and flip it be right before the tick.
Until A-net adds the 2hr Skirmishes and Victory Point system, coming back against a server that night caps will be impossible. So increase the incentives to fight instead of win the overall match a good thing. Wvwers love to fight more then play for ppt. The relinking of wvw server will happen soon too.
Hum takes around what 8 hours of wvw to complete a track. With this update it should take even less time with the track boosts buffs and potions. It does not take long to complete a track and all legendaries require you to do a game mode which you normally would avoid. For me that’s fractals.
The disparity come from how silk was before ascended armor. Silk was a worthless item, their were 4 million piece of silk on TP and it barely sold above vendor price. In order to make silk more value A-net made to many changes to silk. They increase the amount of silk needed for each bolt of silk and made it used in all ascended armor. Due those changes it increased the price of silk by 30x within a month. So it was a overreaction that cause the disparity between ore/wood and silk/leather. The price of leather has increased because of the Chuka and Champawat and changes to how you make ascended items..

If you wvw you can use proof of heroics to get mastery points. Maxed out 2 of my alts using them. Its cost I think 30 for a random HoT mastery point. If you want to just explore and get them you can do that too. Arcane/Water tend to be mandatory for any none tempest build.
The Shatterer break bar is more of a gimmick then anything else. It can only be breaking with Gliding dive bombs(each attack drops 5 bombs that knockbacks). You may get into some maps that break it once but always breaking the bar hard. The Shatterrer tells for his break bar are not that accurate. The time it take to run to a jump pad and drop bombs is to long. If the shatterer just glowed blightly purple before the purple flame everyone would know to run to the jump pad to break his cc.
The scaling on some break bars needs to be looked at but it more of a LTP issue. When I use to run VB a lot most of the time players did not even know what cc was or the skills they class could use to cc. Crowd control skills are not needed much outside of pvp and HoT.
3 Elite spec I can think of:
(Crystal Mage) Greatsword or Axe Condition spec – It combines you attunements into a elemental veil gaining a new skill bar. You will not have to camp fire or earth to do condition damage. Example of some traits – Frostfire-burns chill enemies and chills burn enemies, Ulcer -50% chance for vulnerability to cause bleeding and bleeds do 25% more damage against vulnerable targets.
(Summoner) Mace-control spec – Has a passive Djnn focused on control effects. It can block terrain, taunt or knockback enemies and buff allies. Traits buff it and glyphs.
(Spellweaver) Sword – 5 attunement spec – The Spellweaver uses Physical skills. A new F5 skill called “Spellweaving”, which combines the elements of any Attunements currently on cooldown. It weaves them into deadly elemental dances that simultaneously entrance and terrify those who bear witness to it.

I did not have an issue with it. At first I went upto the hill above the city but realize that was the wrong spot :P. It should appear on the gravestone at the end.
