True, but this is comparing norn racial skills to that of other races. As far as norn are concerned their racial skills offer the least utility or viability.

The Asura may, arguably, have the best racial skills inflicting daze, confusion, poison, weakness, and granting retaliation. They can easily augment many build types and offer conditions that are hard to come by for some classes.

Charr have some highly useable racials and when combined with an engineer have great tool belt skills that are better than any other racial in that regards. On my charr engineer I find myself using Battle Roar and Hidden Pistol frequently and Mortar works great on static bosses such as the ones in Twilight Arbor.

Sylvari and human skills aren’t as useable as the asuran or charr but they still have some utility behind them. The norn get a kick in the pants and it is time they got considered for a revamp.

I’ve received 2 charged quartz from my node since I got it. I use a Molten Alliance Pick which is just as good as the top tier pick. I dont know if this quality or the guild would affect the drop rate though since this behaves differently than other nodes.

The Phoenix Shoulders have bands that are supposed to float above the armor and aren’t attached at all. On the picture you show, the parts that are more orange are the “levitating” pieces. Thats not a glitch if that’s what you were thinking. It’s exactly the look as designed and they appear that way for all races.

Ah, now I get that you ment multiplayer in the fighting game sense of the word and not team play. Thanks for clearing that up.

Even with that in context I’ve illustrated that people have complained about both content requiring teams and content that was PvP oriented. 1v1 fighting totally counts as PvP and my statement saying they made this solo to appease the people who don’t want to play with or against anyone still stands and holds water.

We don’t even have 1v1 for sPvP. If we can’t have that in the meta I don’t see a LS story team developing a tangible way for us to 1 v 1 outside of the mists.

I’d say it’d be worth it to save them up for the return of SAB and see what will be available to purchase nest time around. If you’re interested in the skins from SAB they’re available in the Black Lion and can be found if you just search for “super”.

Even if the Desert Rose doesn’t remain a prize if the mini game is kept you can still buy it off the Black Lion. I just checked it and it was selling for 2 gold 74 silver which is reasonable now. After this LS finishes up you can expect the prices to rise.

This Sovereign sounds suspiciously like the Reapers from Mass Effect have somehow learned to rip a hole throug the interdimensional fabrics of reality using mass relays by synchronizing element zero with chaos energy from the fractals of the mists. IIRC some one on reddit found hidden code indicating this is totally real.

On a non absurd note, I’ve always been curious about what was up with the steam creatures. It would be interesting to see them here or any living story in the future.

They’re pointless how? You need the stuff to craft Sentinel armor, and that stuff’s been getting expensive. Are stats on it useful? That’s debatable, but there are probably people out there that would like to have it.

Even though the above comments are satire this is what the devs get and what we see in the forum with each living story after living story. It would have been simple to make this (gauntlet) an event where you could choose a team or even pug a group, true. I think this was intentionally solo content to calm the nerves of people who want to play an MMO without interacting with people while at the same time giving them content that is a challenge, felt rewarding, and could contain an epic sense of game play all with out the need of a party or having to use a dungeon.

Anything you can craft that has a recipe from karma, rewards, etc. can’t be discovered. You’re obligated to get the recipe first.

This LS has the community more immersed than any content thus far. In the forums there are heated debates over which candidate players prefer, their concerns on the impact of the electoral choices, people actually role playing debating sides on the forum and in game, people concerned with lore past and present, and even some joking posts that just have fun with the political atmosphere (references to Anthony Weiner, candidate slam posts, speculation). We’ve even seen more devs reply to posts concerning this LS than we’ve seen with most content which also shows they’re excited about what’s happening and just as into it as we are.

Immersion is being vested in the game you’re playing emotionally, being concerned with it’s future, and caring about your character and events. I feel this time around they’ve nailed it on the head and got a great player response.

LS since F&F has been nothing but improving. I think you’re looking at Flame and Frost with rose colored glasses cause the way I remember it there was a sign fixing quest that was finished in 20 minutes in January and then no more until February. At that time people liked the idea of the LS but they gave us too little to do with enormous gaps of time between the release of more things to do in said living story. It was a hurry up and wait situation and these days it’s a lot better than Flame and Frost was.

No crafting profession can create any back piece of any stat combination. There isn’t a recipe for a celestial back piece because there are no recipes for any thing else either. Maybe we’ll see them appear in the 400-500 crafting tiers.

She can’t help it if she got facial tattos and then got scars after the fact cause she’s living a warrior lifestyle. Considering most norn like to be up close and personal with their hunts and battles I’m sure a lot of them have scratches and scars to go with their ink. It’s kind of a hazard of the lifestyle.

How about a pitcher plant backpack or venus fly trap quiver for non flower themed back pieces?

I think the rascal armor set looks fine with it. Also, some of the coal miner aspects of the Sorrows Embrace dungeon armor look like they’d work. Maybe a mix and match between the two could work out for you.

There is one for every accessory, weapon type, and armor type. Search “recipe: celestial” in the BLTC.

I think you all are losing sight of the fact that it’s a GUILD kite. The purpose is to be a rallying banner for the gathering of guild members or helping advertise during recruitment runs. It seems with that in mind that this toy is intended for a select market that would use it in a way that’s useful to them; in this case guild organizers.

The 15 gold price tag and forfeit of an existing flag keep people from just grabbing them randomly and making a living forest of giant kites. Those who can afford 15 gold probably have better things to spend their money on wouln’t care to invest in one.

This high price tag works for guilds though. With a 15 gold goal a guild can work as a group to raise the funds for a few kites to spread between their officers for the important purposes I listed earlier. For larger guilds they may already have the resources at their disposal and it isn’t a great expense. For smaller guilds they can gain 15 gold easily within the time they’re available.

15 gold is a lot of cash and feel it was intentionally that way to keep guild related items relevant to guilds.

I find it refreshing that you’ve set in game priorities and have chosen to work on what you need to in game first and foremost. IMO that’s what people should be doing and how the Living Story content should be treated.

Since things with LS have gotten rolling people feel compelled to complete every achievement and gain every reward with each two week release. This has caused undue duress due to deadlines and a feeling that they aren’t achieving what they should to keep up with the Joneses. They lose focus in the meta and in the overall game getting caught up in the hype.

A lot of people in my guild (myself included) now have banks full of more back pieces than characters on our accounts, Flame and Frost gauntlets we’ve never cashed tickets in for, three dragon helms that don’t quite look right on any one, and cinematic memorabilia. For all the fretting and frustration we don’t have tangible rewards that suit us as much as a few extra achievement points and titles and less room in the bank. For some that’s enough; for others there could be something more substantial.

My feelings are that if the content appeals to you and you like the rewards offered then shift your focus and spend two weeks working to that goal. If you don’t like it, don’t. I didn’t do South Sun cause that place is a hell hole and it wasn’t worth the furstration. I did the AE dungeon enough to complete it once and then I was finished. In the mean time you can continue to level your characters, work toward legendarys, get map completion, play PvP, and not feel like you’re getting left out because you are not. Even if you’re not 100% sold on the current living story content then there are aspects of them you’ll stumble across that you can still earn some achievements for so that, if anything, you can get a few more achievement points. Great examples of this are the holos and these current kite baskets. Without trying and just working through personal stories and map completion I’d found enough of each to get those without even trying or caring.

Peoples personal perspectives of getting left out, falling behind, and being lesser are ruining their experiences of the game and their views and expressions are marring what has turned out to be great content if you experience it in the same casual state of mind. The gear is for looks not stats. Nobody’s going to overpower you. In the times there are new stats to be given they’re available after the fact too and for not much more than their counterparts. Sentinel insignia’s and gear aren’t that costly compared to other stat distribution types, celestial isn’t for everyone, and Berserker gear will always be the most expensive.

Stop. Take the time to do the things you set out to do in game. Don’t force yourself into the LS if it doesn’t suit you and don’t make yourself stop playing the game just to finish the LS to feel like you’re keeping up. You’re not keeping up cause there’s not that much to gain unless it matters to you.
