Now that we have the mega server does your server really matter when it comes to finding an active community during certain play times?

I’m in Fort Aspenwood, playing on the West Coast of North America. It seems that the player base in PvE and in guilds is more active during prime times during EST. I’m PST.

It seems like activity slows and everything becomes a ghost town after 8 PM my time and it’s becoming frustrating when it comes to coordinating with guilds or doing any content that may depend on other people.

Are there servers that are more populous during my prime times? What would they be? Is that a silly question to ask? Does it even matter what my server is?

I’m necroing this thread because I’m having the same non-spawn problem. Bug report submitted.

Apparently this issue is rebugged or was never solved in the first place.

Is there a list of shark spawn areas for Mt. Maelstrom? I swear I’ve swam all over the map and found 3 sharks, one of them a vet. It seems like it would be impossible to farm enough of them to spawn a crazed mob.

How is this supposed to work? With out organization and map wide interest, can I still do this content? Am I really that late to the party?

This is frustrating.

Every time they release new armors in the gem store I get more and more offended that they’re able to take the time to craft armors with such attentions to detail but they can’t be bothered to alter a tail hole or flap to make the ensemble acceptable for charr. I can’t even believe that some of our CULTURAL armors don’t even work for our bodies (see light T3). WTF?

There are a few armors out there that do work if the looks work for you but you really have to take a look around. I would love, love, love to spend real world monies on something nice looking but ANet just refuses to take it.

And then he finds out that Rox was going to leave for the war band as soon as Scarlett was killed and he was hurt over that. We’ve really learned that Braham wears his heart on his sleeve and who wouldn’t. But if you notice in the update where Rox tells him all she has to do is kill Scarlett. Rox begins to show how much Braham’s friendship means to her. So this update really shows that Rox values her friendship with Braham and really the others more than wanting to be in a war band. She would rather give that up then her friendships along the way. So. Yes while the words are a cliche. The scene shows the character progression since Flame and Frost.

I have a masterwork (green) and rare (yellow) box on my main from fractals. They receive the items that share their level first then as your bags fill if you’re out of space they’ll accept other items.

I like them because I throw my greens in the MF and like collecting a big stack of rares before selling or salvaging. This keeps these items clear and sorted while the rest I can quickly pick through to do what I need to with them.

The boxes and bags that are ment for certain types of items suit peoples needs and styles of inventory management. If it’s not for you, then it just isn’t. Sorry. I like my specialized bags.

During the last installment of this LA living story friends and guildies were able to equip and unequip various versions of the spinal blades with out the item soulbinding. I just equipped my advanced, exotic version with no stats assigned and now it’s stuck on a character that I didn’t want it on.

Is this a new change that I missed? Is it a bug? If I upgrade this back piece to ascended will the soulbound nature of it reset? It was told to me that the other versions of the blades would unsoulbind each time they upgraded a step.

The stat boost needs to be somewhat significant then. An additional +2 for all stats won’t even come close to making up for the MF and critical dmg nerfs.

It would be nice to have a sent folder as well as an inbox though. I haven’t had arguments over exchanges, but it would be nice to see what I’ve sent people in my guild or a record of my end of the communications I’ve sent out.

Only getting half of the conversation in the form of an inbox seems incomplete for a mail system of any sort.

I’ve felt that these presentations would be better served with a representative, actor, or at least a more professional member of the team. When I’m trying to pay attention and absorb the information the dev hijinks can be totally distracting and I have to rewind often. In addition there is a lot of mumbling, speaking too low, or speaking to each other as opposed to a mic making some of the things they say totally indecipherable. I had to rewatch several times to understand they were saying “vampiric master”. Diction and enunciation are important. They have a director but apparently the only direction they’re getting is not to slouch. Pro tip.

I don’t feel that these guys do us justice as a delivery system for new and important information. Some of their jacking around does make a very long video less boring and can make it easier to digest in one sitting, but I’m not watching for yuks; I want transparent information directly from the source and delivered in a professional and concise manner. These guys seem like they’re trying to make these presentations as if you’re just hanging out with your pals.

So many heavy classes wear Draconic Legs, this is not acceptable. I don’t think ANet intended for this to happen. I think Draconic Legs needs to be nerfed so other inferior leg skins becomes more appealing. Maybe trim off the cloth and shorten it like a skirt. That should solve the problem.

Draconic is just the LOOK of the armor, not the stats associated with it. What makes the look of draconic so prevalent is because it’s the skin that’s produced at the exotic crafting level. People are wearing draconic because they made it, not cause it looks cool or holds extra special magic powers.

You and everyone else who is agreeing with you are all talking about the berserker stats. Item nomenclature dictates stats such as soldier’s being power, vitality, and toughness and rampager’s being precision, power, and condition damage. I’ve fallen in love with AED but if you’re waiting till you’re low enough to make proper use of the heal you can find yourself in a spot of trouble. While you’re health is low enough to utilize AED’s functionality you’re extremely vulnerable almost any direct damage and any conditions that are on you are eating you up faster than it takes to use AED.

Traiting for Automated Response ensures you don’t bleed out or poison to death when you put yourself into position for a tactical heal.

In the same trait line, Self-Regulating Defenses lets you know once your shrink is over you should hit your AED. The Elixir S gives you a moment to collect yourself and prepare the AED while hopefully putting a finishing blow from an opponent on cooldown.

Both these traits are in the same trait line and together make AED a viable heal option. With out them you’re hugging the line too often and due to cast time end up dead before you even get a chance for a proper heal. We need it and it works. (at least for engies)

Expect the prices of these precious metal nodes to shoot up to near linen and silk prices when jeweler reaches 500. The addition of these nodes is to help mitigate the inflation since they’re not that common out in the world and aren’t salvaged very often.

If speculation on these metals is correct, you may be able to make a return on your investment faster than you assume.

Then you’re a poor investor. Think about it: jeweler is going to be level 500 soon and these precious metal nodes aren’t really that common.

In the CDI threads there’s been a dialogue regarding rarity/supply of mats during the increases to 500. To avoid the issues we’re having with linen and silk the devs have taken the feedback they were given and are implementing an item to alleviate the some stress that would come from finding these nodes and farming them to craft jeweler to the max levels. Additionally, this fresh and readily available supply will prevent these mats from inflating to the levels we’ve seen with the cloth mats. They didn’t just choose these nodes all willy nilly as they have a purpose in the very near future.

I just hope this doesn’t devalue the existing mats too much considering I’ve already bought a fair supply of silver, gold, and platinum ores and ingots in anticipation of making a huge turn around. I hope this item doesn’t turn me into a poor investor!

When the timer is 12 hrs long you really don’t have to be that worried about watching the clock. I think this is a pretty useful item.

With ascended jeweler right around the corner this becomes a very convenient purchase, indeed. Plus I’m always looking for more things to put in my home instance. Totally getting one.

Why is it a food?

I think the size is tastefully appropriate. Not everything in game has to be a gross embellishment of over compensation for certain… Shortcomings.

If you’re full up on bank slots then I’d say the collection expander would be the next logical set of upgrades followed by ensuring you’re at max bag slots for all your characters with 20 slot bags in each spot.

If you still need further storage you may need to make a guest appearance on Hoarders.

I suggest an engineer with a flame thrower. Even if you just create one with a spare character slot it makes for an effective way to clear away all those cute little homes, villages, and trees.

The thing is, that this is almost every players mentality. So when I show up in PvE with rabid gear and 100% condition damage, I am the only one applying conditions because everyone else in the entire game avoids conditions because they have the same out look as you do. Personally I enjoy the 900 dps that I maintain with simply burning alone from fire bomb. Add in my AoE bleed stacks and AoE torment, mix in permanent poison, a dab of confusion, then add in my direct damage with high crit chance, and your doing great damage with an easy level of survivability.

I do not care what argument you care to use, thematically it would make sense that the flamethrower should be the single most burn damage applying utility in the game.

Misunderstandings aside, I totally relate with you coglin. It’s strange to me (and very pleasing and validating) that I can show up to dungeon parties and be the main source of sustained damage over time because everyone has chosen to totally ignore conditions.

The Flaming Effigy and Ginva have a lot of regen going on. Who’s there to poison and mitigate their healing while dealing some damage? Surprisingly, not the necro. That thief isn’t venom sharing or using any conditions. For some reason people feel the ele should be doing this but I’ve never seen them apply. And the ranger (who has a great poison in the SB) isn’t doing it… They’re just being a, um, ranger. But here comes Poison Dart Volley and Fumigate from your friendly neighbourhood engineer.

A guardian, a warrior, a ranger, and an ele all try to light a bon fire. Who’s actually got the matches that does the damage? My pals Incendiary Powder, Incendiary Ammo, Fire Bomb, Napalm, and Flame Jet are there to proc the damage. There’s a lot of burning to be had even though I feel our FT auto should burn constantly in the same way the rangers SB or warriors sword auto bleed constantly.

Considering PvP skins are only skins I think it would be impossible to salvage a carrion insignia or berserker inscription (or any other nomenclature) when those stats aren’t even present on those items.

The cost is load times multiplied by 3. I’d gladly spend 2 silver and some copper to avoid all that junk.

It’s because of the LA load times (especially at the start of fresh LS content) that I prefer to hang out in whatever cultural city is closest to me at the moment that isn’t LA.

Regarding gift cards:

When you purchase a gift card you’re not technically making a purchase and this doesn’t actually classify as income for the retailer. You’re just transfering money into a holding account of sorts that falls under a special ledger and not as a debit credit (for those familiar with general ledger accounting).

From the company side of things they won’t be able to report your $50 gift card as income until it’s redeemed; and at the time it is, the purchase gets taxed appropriately. If you got taxed on the gift card and used it on 4 different purchases that each got taxed you’d be overpaying the government. Since the gift card bears no original tax they skip the double dipping .

As mentioned in my previously quoted post, even though you don’t see sales tax included in your online purchase you’re still supposed to report these purchases to be appropriately taxed at tax time. In your brick and mortar store they’re not charging you tax because as you make your online transactions you’ll either be directly billed for taxes or won’t be and will have to be an honest consumer and report it yourself. I’m lazy and bad at record keeping so I would just prefer my online entities to tax me directly.

ANet isn’t jacking up prices and pocketing 98 cents for every 10 dollars you’re spending, nor are they twisting the law in any way to make us pay more for no reason. The fact they’re charging the tax outright is kind of a service to us as consumers especially as we may be on the cusp of some very major changes regarding the online tax environment in the near future. It makes for an easier transition for all of us.

I’ve dealt with map chat spam selling p2p style in too many MMO’s in the past. It’s obnoxious, it’s trashy, it’s distracting, and it takes away from real communication in world hubs where people are legitimately trying to interact with each other.

Pay your taxes, appreciate the gold sink cause we need it, and don’t buy from people directly unless they’re a guildy or somebody you know.

If only the Anomaly wasn’t purple! They should make other foci that come in different colors that are just as hard to obtain.

Killing WP’s would cripple a champ train, remove the ability to hit multiple world bosses in an effective manner, and stop players from running consecutive dungeon runs. Compromising player income gain on a global scale would have some hilarious and tragic consequences even if it is for a limited time.

Take away my ability to make money and I’ll just have to play something else until that chapter of the LS is over.

Not every mini works underwater and Ho-Ho-Tron just happens to be one of them. It’s not really a bug.

Using Guild Bank though has a risk. If your account got hacked and the hacker got into your guild bank(s) and empty them. You won’t get any back even with account restoration.

They don’t take up space for level 1-15’s who may actually need/want these bags. It’s worthless loot cause it’s for starting level players, not champ farmers who want to complain about low level loot in low level areas.

It shouldn’t become worth any value to someone at your level, salvagable or otherwise. If you can break them down into cloth or leather then you can easily get enough to upgrade to more valuable mats to break the market. Upgrading them to better sacks takes away from crafters who turn around homemade bags on the BLTC and would also be a work around to avoid high level crafting. All around I think that the suggestions for these bags (others have made them too) are pretty selfish.

If you want loot that’s not clogging up your drop table that you can actually use quit farming Queensdale and go to Frostgorge Sound. It’s just as fast and easy and you won’t be let down with a non exotic champ bag drop like you find so often in QD.

This skill point is in the exact same place it was before the tower so your guide isn’t outdated. It is as it always was.

Your post had me curious about the bug though, since I did this on an alt a couple weeks ago as did a guild mate for their map completion. I decided to visit again on my lvl 37 thief to check it out and I was able to find the hylek and turret, unsullied, and complete the skill point.

It’s not bugged right now on Fort Aspenwood. If it is in fact bugged it may only be on your server. If Piken Square wasn’t an EU server I would say guest over here and try it again.

Always open the dungeon yourself. That way if people want to act awful they’ll either shoot themselves in the foot if you’re kicked or you’ll have the ability to take the dungeon progress away from them and the friends they invite by simply leaving to force them to start over.

These slots have gone on sale fairly frequently enough that if you are just patient they’ll drop.

Specifically the ascended amulet since there is no alternate way to get them at the moment. If you run fractals you’ll get more rings than you have fingers and if you’re involved with a guild that runs guild missions you’ll be able to use commendations for the accessories.

If you have long term goals to craft Bifrost you can also save your laurels since it’s a cost effective way to collect 250 unidentified dyes.

My first purchase was the Endless Mystery Cat Tonic and I don’t regret a thing.

You are correct! I tried it out and wasn’t able to throw in 3 armor pieces with one weapon.

ANet’s been on Christmas vacation and haven’t said a word about ascended crafting since the beginning of December. This is all just wishful thinking and has no foundation in the views or opinions of the devs.

A more realistic approach to balancing the market instabilities regarding linen and silk would be a modification to the drop tables that affect the bags, chests, and other sources that contain linen and silk.

If downgrading would come along I’d expect it to be attached to some sort of gem shop consumable similar to a black lion salvage kit of sorts.

The color of your ascended weapon dictates it’s state distribution. Color actually matters a great deal.
