New legendaries coming? Pretty anxious!

I’m holding my breath for a pisol that is less ridiculous than Quip. A shield that actually has legendary weapon effects (FSP is not fine as is) would be nice too.

Engineers get boned in the legendary department due to our kits but when you can see our weapons Quip and FSP leave a lot to be desired. The Predator is cool and all but using a sniper rifle in the same manner as a shotgun just isn’t doing it for me either.

Endless for Five Minutes...

its still better than the infinite watchknight tonic that only lasts 5 minutes and has a 30 min cooldown.

The thing about this one is that it’s a combat tonic. There are many transformations out there I wish I could be in while fighting. A kitten wielding a great sword, dual dager wielding furniture, and quaggans shooting rifles would be epic.

Considering the watchknight tonic has the added benefit of keeping its form in a fight I think that utility is worth the cooldown as opposed to purely cosmetic tonics that people just pop to goof off in LA or when they’re killng time while waiting for a boss to start.

Uvatha.5476

Back pieces provide very, very small boosts to a builds overall stats compared to trinkets, armor, and weapons. For those three factors there are/will be non fractal related ways to gain them. Not running the fractal doesn’t effect you in those regards.

Since back piece gains are nominal overall the only true value they have (as ascended) is the additional agony gain. That having been said, requiring a fractal related drop to get an item that proves the most worthwhile in fractals isn’t unreasonable.

If you run celestial I can understand how this back piece could help round out your numbers. If you see it as that much of a value then you’re going to have to stomache a few fractals if it really means that much to you. If your not running celestial an additional 22 isn’t going to raise your crit chance, won’t increase your power or condition numbers noticeably, and you won’t notice the gain to vitality and healing.

Out of a possible 13 slots (counting 2 handed) this is just one slot that is fractal required at the moment. You have options for the rest of it. This one slot won’t be imbalancing, game breaking, or unfair.

I use a full set of Runes of Lyssa and the 6th rune skill does not proc with Supply Crate still.

The boon given by the 4th rune skill is random regaress of what current boons you have and can even include might. This paired with Elixer H gives you a fair amount of boons all at once. The 4th rune skill even procs when you overcharge the healing turret. At a 15 second cd you can get a lot of procs off the rune in a fight.

I love this in my HGH build.

I very much doubt anyone will get banned over it, but don’t complain if they get retroactively changed to different stats. You knew what you were getting into, don’t deny it.

The reason why i think its an intended change, is, if i remember correctly. you could only chose those stats that werent available from other crafted ascended backpieces.

You couldnt choose Zerker, Rampager, clerics, etc but only celestial, dire, Apothecary, Dire+Apo. etc.

I agree with this statement. Also with the value of 250 Vicious Claws I don’t see anything exploity about me spending 48 gold (selling mats I already had banked) to buy them for this. I paid a fair price for a piece of gear that any one else could get if they care to.

Please, drop down Doubloons back to 20s max and Dusts back to 15s and I will be happy zomfg.

Silver Doubloons just went up to 94s.
I’m leaving the game soonish. This is unacceptable.
Already signed up for TESO closed beta.

The TP is a free-market economy. People demand a product and people supply it; this dictates prices. If demand is high when supply is hard to come by prices rise. If an item is easily obtainable and no one cares to ask for it the price will be very inexpensive.

The devs may have created the catalyst for demand and may have made obtaining doubloons rare from the start but they have no control of how the market reacts to this and they can’t very well adjust prices. If they did the backlash would be huge namely because of statements like this:

I’m not without sympathy for those of you trying to get The Juggernaut. It’s just that my gold > your Legendary. I’m sure you understand.

If you’re upset about rising or fluxuating prices in a free-market economy in this game you’ll find the same situations in any MMO you’ll ever be in. If the trading post has gotten you so flustered that you want to leave the game then I think the reply to that was best said here:

I find it childish to come complain at the forums because some materials are expensive. They are legendaries, yes, they are meant to be hard to get! And yes, no one forces you to make that specific legendary, pick another one if you find silver doubloons expensive. I’m sure every other legendary is cheaper.

Childish, indeed. You’re going to have to learn to deal with it.

Think outside the box! Spears and tridents are used other places than just under the sea. Let’s pull them out of the water with new land based abilities.

A spear wielding necro could give us mele range fighting with cleave, some cc options like stun or daze, and maybe a ranged throw attack. I’m envisioning a necromantic boar hunter of sorts.

The trident can keep its ranged magical properties but give us another option in the 1,200 range for people who don’t care to use marks. For some build synergy the skills could be of the coruption type.

Additonally, pulling some weapons out of the water would give some credibility to the persuit of these sorts of legendaries since they’re generally not popular. They are large 2 handed weapons that would be great to show off.

I feel it’s a great build that contributes to group play and solidly covers all the bases.

Run the loop. Most of these chests you can run to from the wp in no time and fighting vets in a 1-15 zone takes no time. It’s a quick run.

The point is how much time it takes. Listing alternatives that take longer doesn’t address my concern; it actually makes the issue worse.

There are 5 non jumping puzzle related chests in Queensdale that can be run in a loop that takes less than 10 minutes once you know where they are. You can get these chests once a day for each character on your account. Each time I run the loop I’ve gotten between 14 to 18 fragments per character. This is an easier grind than dungeons or jp’s for the time invested and I suggest you look into it.

Locations

Vale Waypoint – Directly north under one of the harpy trees

Crossing Waypoint – North in a small cave full of wolves

Ojon’s Lumbermill Waypoint – Head north into the bandit cave. It’s near a vet bomber.

Tunwatch Redoubt Waypoint – Go south to the Clifwatch Camp poi and it’s in a tamini tent guarded by a vet.

Righteous Hoofmoot/Demongrub Pits – Enter the pits and head left to the NPC. Jump past her to the ledge with the spiders. The chest is in webs along the wall. (also Demongrub Pits is a quick easy jp you can also do to get another chest for even more fragments but you don’t have to do the jp to get the chest listed here)

SAB Obsidian shards not there?

I was telling people in my guild that they could get obi shards from SAB and they were excited about that. It looks like the Crystals and Philosopher Stones aren’t there either.

I don’t care for the skins or the mini’s but the things that were actually useful in the game (i.e. legendary weapon acquisition) have been removed. I’ve gotta say that’s a huge disappointment.

Outside of achievement points there’s no point in running SAB for me and I don’t need the points enough to waste my time with it. I’ll just use the time SAB is around to champ farm, run metas, do jumping puzzles, and get my crafting to 500.

Crafting to 80 on 2 professions?

Uvatha.5476

I use a crafting guide that utilizes the buying premade components idea and it works very well. I buy 2 levels worth of parts at a time, pop a booster, and craft them all at once using the discovery panel which grants more crafting exp. I switch to an alt (just so I’m not wasting time in my booster) to buy another 2 levels of items and leave them in the BL for my crafter to pick up and then I repeat the process.

It’s true the booster works on crit crafting and that you technically craft less when you aren’t making every little bit of an item, but mass crafting within the 1 hr boost time still yields a benefit. Plus, you can easily get to lvl 400 within the hour using this method.

Check out http://pwniversity.com/category/gw2-crafting-guides/ for some solid crafting guides that use premade items in an effective way.

Not everyone who invested in celestial gear did so because of the magic find.

I made my celestial gear as soon as it was possible for me to do so. I got it because I did the math and found that the increases from a straight celestial build (accessories/armor) were far greater than running just rabid. I didn’t lose too much condition damage because I kept my Superior Runes of the Undead but I did take a significant hit to my precision leaving me with only a 43% crit chance. gasp

For me the pros outweigh the cons and even with out magic find I don’t see me ditching the armor. I’m sure there are others out there who have celestial for the stats too who won’t be that affected by the loss of MF.

Exactly why should I buy Character Slots?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Uvatha.5476

Uvatha.5476

Dungeons award the gold once per day per run but the tokens for each alt is still 60 for the first time each and that’s important for people with goals to get dungeon armor or just grind dungeon tokens as a source of rares.

Continuing with the dungeon theme if you run with many different parties you may find the need to switch to a different class depending on the party needs and make up. Having options to bring in that others may not make you an asset to dungeon groups and guilds.

No matter how many wallets and banks you have your play time and earning potential is still the same. There are multiple characters but only one of you. Time you spend on one character takes away from the earning potential of another. The singular wallet is just an aggregate of all the money you would have earned within the course of regular play and isn’t hurting the money one could be maxing out with other alts.

Why haven't condition stacks been nerfed yet?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

None of you have even mentioned that condition damage is not mitigated by toughness and armor. CD bypasses all that and is straight up direct damage while the damage from raw power is decreased based on the defenders stats.

That’s a huge difference and one of the reasons I can take out a warrior or a guardian 90% of the time as an engineer. All that heavy armor does nothing, I’m applying more conditions than you can cleanse, and I move better than you.

I live in the US on the Pacific Coast (PST) and play on Fort Aspenwood which is heavily populated with those from the East Coast (EST).

From around 11 PM-4AM the server is pretty dead. There are some Aussies, New Zealand ers, and some West Coasties but the server is pretty much dead. I can’t speak for other servers (or EU either) but the time of the patch was near the start of this extremely low pop time. People sleep for work, school, kids, and so on.

Considering this particular parch required everything to be shut down for 6 hours this window seemed to be the most ideal. I realize for other players this may have been their afternoon or prime time evening but in the US it caused less of an effect then and that’s where the majority of the player base resides.

Smaller patch times do seem inconsistent though and I see frustration with that myself. Is it before daily reset? After? In the middle of the night? I’ve seen patches at all these times But because they usually just kick me and require a 3 minute download it’s tollerated. Even so they should choose a consistent time to update like right after daily reset.

I put 240 of my votes toward Evon and really wanted the Abbadon fractal because another asuran themed element in the game is just redundant when there are existing dungeons, fractals, maps, and personal story quests that are already immersed in it. A vote for Ellen was a vote for repeating content and a reluctancy to introduce anything new into the existing game.

The devs have flat out said that they won’t make both fractals. Even though I wanted the candidate that didn’t win I agree with ANet on this one. When the election began people were quick to say that voting didn’t matter anyway cause we’d get both eventually. That point of view is entitled, undeserving, and wrong.

We were given the option to choose and that should have been weighted seriously. I would like to see a world where the choices we make as a community have definite repercussions and affect the game for the long term even if things don’t always turn out the way I would have liked. Taking away a sense of finalty from the election by appeasing both the winners and losers completely destroys that and also wounds some of the impact of the living story.

Really?!?!?!?!?

Story mode is a time consuming barrier but something you only need to do once per toon. It’s funny and sad that people who want to run these dungeons don’t even want to do the initial work to be able to do them themselves. People need incentives to run story and hopefully the new gold rewards will garner that interest.
