No silly D/P is not the threat but S/D and weapon swap DP thief.. The thief (daredevil trait) has daze on demand with main hard sword. The steal is trait as 20 cc with 2 more from utlity and elite. No the thief can cc you every 10 seconds if required. not including the mainhand sword. Playing against bad thieves don’t count…. play against a full time wvw roamer/ESL thieves and we can chat. They have crazy regen and clears on evade.

My latest fun in gear as a classic Fire d/d ele not a tempest since tempest aren’t eles and eles are eles. lol What the kitten is a tempest. Run ascended cleric armor and weapon set you can make crusaders. Have zerker accessories. Use durability runes. Sigils of energy and sigil of Blood. You will kill DH without losing more than 15% hp. You can roll Tempest like trash with soft ccs and loss less than 30% hp. And tank most classes you can survie a 1v4 and flee like a bunny. But in Guild hall Duel you wont beat high level zerker warrior you wont die… But you take 3k-4k from an attack whil you hit him for 1-3k damage and if you do land your 8k firegrab the warrior can regen around 1.6k health per second without any healing power. His regen is a trait not a buff gl removing that kitten. High level Mesmer would be a pain. Tempest is a big kick me sign anyone who played T6 in spvp knows how to deal with them.

Yeah ele is not as strong as they used to be. We got nerfed hard so Tempest seem viable. Cause tempest is a beginner ele’s step stool that anet made meta. And if anyone wants to talk about it I’m on BP….. Roaming solo fight the 1v3 1v5 and fleeing from the zerg since FA became our sugar momma.

Sometimes I even fight 1v 16 and down a kitten before dying.

Ascended Armor

I have ascended berserker, celestial, viper, marauder and cleric armor (for temp support fights)
I have some cleric accessories, zerker, celestial, knight, dire and Apothecary for wvw mixture fights. You can have so much fun as a core ele or as a tempest. Tempest requires less math and combos in stats but if you play core ele it’s ok to have lots of goodies. Some days you want 1.2k in condi build as a fire ele, sometimes you want 195 crit in a burst.

What we need is more storage.

Just need a few trait line buffs.

Soothing Disruption needs a healing buff by 100%. If you have 650 healing power your heal is around 1.6k healing regen over 6 seconds that’s less that guardian spamming their meditation skills around 2k with zero healing power invested and compared to warrior’s new Adrenal Health.

Cantip skills should get their stun breaker status back and their cool down times needs reduction.

Aracane trait (Minor Adept) Arcane Fury should get fury duration increased from 2 seconds to 3 seconds and a new function to gain Endurance 5 per swap.

Arcane trait minor grandmaster Elemental Enchantment should have Recharge Reduced: 15% increased to 20% While Duration is increased from 10% to 15%

Increase Skill Signet of Restoration base healing per cast to 220

That should bring back the old d.d ele fighters while not effecting tempest status to much.

I have the same bug I hit diamond and my League Elite never triggered as a Meta event. League Elementalist and Necro—Champion shows as an attained achievement for me but is not counted to my META total in the score out of /11. All I can say is buggy and continue to post tese meta glitches.

I have done 9/11 of the achievement and its only counting 7/11 in ascension achievement part 3. I also cross 4 division and in season and it’s not counting that as an achievement in part 4.

Is this a know issue in the game?

^ It’s team driven get a bad team you die so fast it’s not funny. Again you’re in the passenger seat supporting or you stall like as hard as panda on points till your team comes racing in. Tempest is hp is lowered while core ele (an entire skill level out side of spamming f1) has been nerfed. There have been lots of passive nerfs done like the removal of arcane’s lingering enchantments during attunement swaps and normalizing vigor to a 10 secs instead of 5. We are being forced to play tempest that’s not an ele more like kitten down substitute.
Azukas’ been blabbing about ele being op in pvp but he meant tempest sustain is op. Ele core is rather not so awesome…. you can stil have limited fun 1v1 in hot joins but that’s all folks. So ele was kinda like Chun Li in Street Fighter Alpha 2 just to be nerfed in Street fight Alpha 3. It’s like taking away your Porsche and giving you back a Hyndai eleantra. Yes you can drive but you feel clunky, slow, do less damage, less versatile and your a kitten Hyndai eleantra!

Help Fix by adjusting a new amulet or buff base health, healing or up our damage non tempest trait line.

Tempest is fine in spvp. It’s a buff bot that stalls on point and team plays only 2 vet players can focus condifire it to death after it’s cds are gone. Ele main on the other hand is not viable in rank spvp. You can still hot join hero some fight with no issues but hot join is only build testing. Also fresh air ele is bad you can do more damage as a fire ele with rotations but the zero heals is painfull. Time to up the base healing for water trait or up the might and burns in fire trait line. You kittened air so let’s just ignore that for now.

Fire ele was nerfed June 23 2016 before hot came out. If someone didn’t cave to pressure that build would been viable to kill the reapers, scrappers, chronos, druids and tempest that just bunk.
They made that buff to early and players kitten so hard. Anet rarely reverses their judgements, but if you can force anet to separate tempest from ele buffs like cough cough fire and core skills that reward rotations thinks could work out.
Tempest and Core elementalist are different please remember that.

Then again once everyone buys the expansion, I’m sure the elite specs and core spec will rebalance again, buff/ nerf. Until the next expansion good luck

Use Crusader necklace/ wurms rune for more hp and crit. Sigil of leaching/ Intelligence/ Use meta fire ele but sawp water’s minor trait with the dodge roll lose burn and chill. you should be ok… Tempest should be viable anybuild.. d/d is do able but not as versatile… Ele’s base crit vs damage is meh… don’t use Maruaders… there is no heal? or tough. x.x Cleric is more bunker but you don’t get the crit.

For classic D/D hijinks in Hot join you can use Crusader’s Amulet mix with Rune of the wurm to give you some hp and extra crit. Use sigil of leeching and Sigil of intelligence to give some more damage since you lose hp and lots of condi damage. MEh! T.T

I do all the dailies regardless maybe skip fractals daily, so all wvw. pve and spvp. So not sure why? I was top 200 then AP record broke and the lead went from only 1.5k to like 4.5k difference over 1 year.

It’s intermittent every so often I stop getting daily AP points sometimes for months And I report the ticket and they fix it in a month or so then I stop getting them again. Just like today it’s very strange and sadly they don’t give me points back. I’ve only missed one day every in this game but with the missing AP points it looks like I missed the game for 3-4 months?

Anyone has this issue also?

Ele it’s an issue I suggest fixing the stats in jewelry or allow the old accessories split 1/3 is gem and 2/3 is necklace so you can mix attributes. That’s the real issue. Also lots of people complain but their are many builds that defeats d/d ele for example Mesmer rupts, signet necro, mace and shield gs warrior, competent guardian, condi ranger axe/dagger with sword and torch. Or a clever power ranger since 1v1 is not RA. DP can ele if he chills his chill and boon steals and rupts. All you have to do is stun or imobilzie rinse and repeat.

L2p issue

You’re right. Ele is not OP. arcane/water celestial cantrip ele is. For such a high sustain build, it should not have the amount of damage it currently has. At least back in the day bunker eles hit like a wet noodle to make up for its high amount of sustain.

You compare ele to potential counters from OTHER classes, but have you stopped to think about what options that an ele not running the Ar/W/X cele build has against one that is runing it? The build is almost faceroll to the point where missing skillshots like burning speed and fire grab hardly matters at all.

This build needs a nerf, and the others needs a buff.

If you play an ele you know that’s not possible without killing other aspects of ele cough cough staff ele. The real issue was with the accessory stats available in spvp not in wvw. Anet’s stubbornness led to these classes dying by stripping based stats like defense and healing from traits and not attending to issues. Aka killing the celestial rifle engi or the shout bow warrior. I main air ele in wvw and 2012 earth ele in spvp.. The hurt is more in wvw not spvp you have a team in that game but what do you know. Fire ele buffs were just introduce June this year with meta changes… you can still burn if change from str runes to Balthzar runes so the real issues did’t get resolved Just the might stacking. L2p issue.

Just thought I’d throw this in:

I made an ele, learned d/d build in 2 hours, and near effortlessly beat a shatter mesmer in a 1v1 twice. Then I proceeded to 1v1 a very experienced sword/shield & longbow warrior for about 2-4 minutes before finally retreating (and surviving). I played very poorly (got hit by nearly all of his sword flurries, and got bursted every time I came out of water) and still survived for that long…

That shatter Mesmer must be super bad …lol go fight a PU. Warrior was super bad too for using condi swords on anyone with clears. A Mace Shield / Great sword warrior would have killed you in a chain or a longbow GS warrior. The nerf was meant for spvp since people are crying before they show you infinite regen engis and ranger celestials.. it’s a bunk war lol. Burn nerf is mine but cantrip nerf is stupid… I rather they change the function. My bet is they have to re-work things after the Rev and new celestial profs/zerkers gain to much of a power and condition creep.

Make it a 3 second projectile reflect with 5 stacks of stability for 4 seconds and at the 3 second mark you invoke a 5 target AOE launch at your position. 400 range! You shout “REBOUND” on the third second of activating the elite.
Now that would be fun.

Or change the launch to a 5 target aoe pull 400 range haha!

The sword 3 movement can be a bit more fluid… but then again it could be worst. Mesmer will become a less skillful class since everyone can play it under it’s current status. Cough Cough you might be common metas like Burn eles, Signet Necro hybrids, Guardian spam bunker, 1 buttone Warrior Rampager worst or Mesmers … oh wait. Touché

Rebound should be a 3 seconds reflect and on the third second cause an AOE launch 400 range radius. Now that would be fun and worth using Tempest meh traits.

I applaud Noodica but….. D/H is still so bad. Without Sustain how can you 1v4. D/D meta burn ele is viable with Balthazar runes over fusion of dire/and rampager stats while accessories are Cleric. You need to sustain 500+ healing to deal out that 10-15 stack burns with 1.6k-2k 1 attacks with chain combos bursting at 2k, 3k, 2k and into a 5.6k-7k firegrab. The burn should deal around 1.5k to 2k damage per second unless cleared. But that allows you the power to fight no more that a 1v3 -1v4 be you risk death only downing 1-2 average level so silver to light gold level players.

D/D air using holbreak runes/ zerker armor mixed with 1/3 soldier gear + cleric accessories allows you to fight 1v3 or 1v5 spreads but you can only at most proc kill 1 character but super speed helps you do around 25% to 45% more damage but that’s still like 1.6k -2k per 1 attack combos hit like 3k – 2,5k, 2.5k and fire grab 8k. to 9k. tops but if you miss the box game gives you a wonderful 1.2k FG! Super effective. So D/H still weak if you measure at that level of game play.
It’s more of a team support no…. D/D or D/F will out support that with EA X EA and living longer helps.

It was entertaining but no. I killed every Ele D/H in hotjoins, solo, unrank and rank so….. it’s a no. Having a nerco is a stronger cover and it’s not accurate since that’s not roaming. A sad 1v4, 1v7 and 1v20s are sad tiring roaming fights… that ends with sour results lol. D/D is better in combat while D/F is better in mix combat in greatly outnumber fights like a 1v7 You might live by the tip of you hair downing 2 of the 7 players. But if 2 skilled players running meta builds = top 200 in rating spvp using semi condi and boon rips = ele dies painfully if you’re a D/D ele let alone the much weaker D/H.

I still want my sword off hand! PS you still remember me from BP I hope. I used to face battle zergs when you were on BP. Still kinda but lower hp and healing sustain = mix results.

Tempest is weaker than focus off hand or dagger.. Those 2 weapons alone is greater than the entire specialization, skills, traits and Shouts are bad. If the shouts allow you to get some vigor and some healing… wait that’s cantrips… OK still bad.

If the Ele makes a Kyaaa sound when using it maybe I let it go.

I think it’s bad … and if I beat you in a 1v2 it’s cause of main hand dagger or scepter. I went back on D/D and killed every D/H or S/H it was very sad. The a revenant said D?H was strong since he lost. I told he/she/pokemon lost to main hand dagger only and Rev is a new prof yet to even be fully tested. Try back in 3-9 months, Cough Cough since those who played the first game remember Assassin/Nartuo hype in 2006 = 3.% great Sins 15% decent and the rest free kills.
An ele got progressively better in each expansion during guild wars 1. Well Boys and Girls in guild wars 2 no! We look better kinda not really…. NO! But water bubble so cute wants to pet! NO! very bad like my english, grammar, punctuation and sentence fragments. Would be nice if the ele elite was a shout that stuns and launches 5 targets at 300 or 400 range and with a 90 seconds cooldown, would have be so trollicious!
If cosmetic appeal can kill people are Elite would make a “KYAAH” sound.

You can still d/d ele in zerg fights.. please apply rank fight logic, trait accordingly and get the correct gear mechanics lol. This is a L2P issue for you or your zerg. Please don’t face tank, burst in and get the fresh flowers out rotate your line position. Or if less skill just fight where you can get back into an entry point safely. If you die from focus fire well anyone would, just don’t go in glassy lol.

I agree with you 100% and warhorn seems more like a wvw escape for lower level skil factor it’s not better in spvp. Those tells will get us killed. If there is a trait not to give us protection but also stability for 2.5 -3 seconds 2 stacks. that seems better but the overload is too slow and during that channel time you can as you state above do double or triple damage in a ele rotation. I wish over load functions the way like engi f5 skill or other profs:

In fire 3 stacks of might to self and allies + 300 radius AOE blind field at your location that pulse ever second for 5 seconds to enemies.

For air you get quickness and super speed for self and allies 3 seconds + a AOE at your location, lightning storm 400 range radius which applies 1 second stun. Humor us you don’t have to make the dps high!

For water you heal (a small amount) /remove one condition from allies applies 3-4 second chill at you location to enemies 300 radius at your location.

Earth you apply 1 stack of stability to allies for 5 seconds and AOE launch enemies in 300 range radius 200 or 300 ranger hits 5 targets at your location.

Channeling gets ele killed in spvp haha I dont’ want a death flag so give us a quick spike applications and use nice animations too.

Under whelming other then lovely animations in the mechanics of rank spvp. You’re gonna die which such wonderful tells. It’s a simplified mechanic for newer eles who want to pve or wvw in a big zerg. But will not yield the same results in spvp rank fights. Those tells will get you killed and the channeling + overload is much lower damage than an ele rotation on d/d of d/f. You can do 3 times the damage in a chain rotation with conditions like, bleed, burn and cleave damage. Also do you thing a Mesmer or anyone with CC will not rupt you or shatter you when your channeling. You can’t dodge roll when channelling that’s an ele death sentence.

Over all it looks very nice but unlike the engi f5 or other professions specialization mechanics that work for a quick delivery in support or escape. This will kill you in Spvp. Also have a big fire field seems awesome but I prefer ele getting a AOE launch or knock back in warhorn, that’s way more useful in spvp. A 400 range clear like most classes, since eles need more knock backs or launches in the non staff aspect of the game. I want new abilities to help us fight better not simplified versions of existing abilities for new players that look awesome but are inferior to dagger and focus of hand.

I guess golems can’t fight back unlike Svanni. Either way hope they fix it, so everyone make suggestions. This is by far not an end product or you’re dead in spvp and so far I have to say it’s a weaker specialization from a pvp aspect then anything else given to other professions but we will see.

You can do the same as conquest meta ele d/d on metabattles wiki. Switch out earth trait geomancer’s freedom and use stability. So you can rip into 1v1s or 2v1 and face res people but keep in mind if you get focus fired by a power ranger and a melee or another attacker your still in danger zone.

Yes… run meta conquest make ascended zerker armor with Hoelbrak then have knight ascended daggers sigil of battle and poision. Accessories run 2 earrings cleric, celestial amulet and a ring and other ring can be knight or cav or another celestial. Use saffron bun since its -20 conditons and 20% damage reduction to knock back, Stun and Knock down. Oil for accuracy you can use a cheap one let say a level 60.

You will have 2k-2.1k pase power and around 1673 tough or 1700. Vit is around 15k if you have guards stacks power or vitality that would be great. On earth trait you can pick Geomancers freedom or Stability. Stability is better in fights to be honest since stun is key. Bring utilities like sigil of air since you run faster, cantrips like lightning flash and cleansing fire. Armor of earth is not req since in earth you have 33% protect when aura, stability and no crit.

You should be ok…. but remember to play with caution.. you’re well able to leave any 1v1 I have a 99% win chance and can leave anytime. even some 2 or 3 v 1s depending how far I’m from spawn in wvw. Some build be use like engi nades will get you since it’s 20K death but if you’re able to pop prot you’ll be fine. or you doge out of it or have stacks up. stats are more ideal in wvw. Mostly people run from me and or wait for more to come so haha!

I never die out right facing 2 opponents If I fight a large mid I can hold it and fight 1v4 for 30 seconds up to a minute. My 1v1 on point is 100% win. I can burst a double condi engineer and beet him ion 30 seconds or less if he has kit dropped on me give me 50-60 seconds. I can make him run off point but if he wants to die so be it. I was former top 200 on North America berfore the ladder changes in TSPVP and top 70 in solo rank entry. I’m mediocre but I have 3k hours on my elementalist which total around 55% of my time on guild wars 2 through wvw and spvp.

Did I ever told you a story before the battle of sigil, might nerf and Drakes breath nerf I can easily 1v4 in wvw against silvers.
Yes anet you’re mean to me T.T Don’t take EA pairing away from us.

The main issue is that you’ll lose sustain and recovery against the ever creeping condition meta! Just try using one of the EA with contagious and play 1v2 against top spvp conditioners and see the results.

I’d say the Tempest is a swordsman ele that can use attacks like:
Fire attunement would have movements like ranger sword, might stacking no distance closing attacks like dagger and some fire fields to stack burn to chain with fire grab.

Water attunement would resemble thief sword sword/dagger evasion movements low damage, regen and very light evade.

Air attunement would be like Mesmer movements with sword, blinds and quick attacks, following with a 2-3 second channeling attack for critical damage.

Earth attunement will resemble warrior sword with lots of short duration cripples/ bleed stacks and if we are lucky an attack that applies weakness.

And as for the elite I bet it will be like the thieves Dagger Storm but it spams light conditions like blinds, bleeds, burns, chills and stuns every 2.5 seconds lasting like 8 seconds. It will be a viable version of Tornado but less damage and no knockdown. Cool down let say 90 seconds. Designed to hinder but not destroy foes, grants stability and 33% movement speed. Kind of like a soft get out of jail free card.

But if I have my way she’d fight like Aika in Zetsuen No Tempest. I think the movement of Aika as the Mage of Exodus pretty much is how sword should feel and flow for an elementalist.

Silly mortals the double EA nerf is not to weaken ele’s against the ever growing condition META anet it will make your team die and then you look really bad and die. (Bad as my non English writing skills)

I currently can hold points 1v3 in Spvp mid and down but not flag 1 player. If I fight a dedicated premade team I can still hold against 3 non condition player but not more than 1 condition player and 2 non condition players. I lose to two dedicated condition players that are designed to focus spike ever class with over 6 conditions nonstop, but I can stall the fight to about a minute if forced not to flee.

When I remover one of the EA’s, I lose super fast. I can only beat 1 condition player. I can survive and hold 1 vs 3 non condition players, but they take way less damage from lack of might stacking and rotation roll damage from Evasive Aracana.

But preventing double EA you greatly reduce elementalist’s survivability vs condition classes let alone fighting of and protecting a team or taking on dual condition classes you’d most likely insta death. The only new benefit to trait is s the new stability to earth is now attainable which will great help with res or stomps.

So this is a 25% Physical resistance buff but a 50% condition resistance nerf . Since the last 4 weeks I pay around 4-5 hours or unrank spvp premade or not premade so yes. If we want to focus spvp this is a great NERF!!!!!!!!!! if its roaming spvp and you fighting 1v2or 1v3 or running from a 1v7 this is still a incredible nerf. Don’t even talk about pve since the mechanics is purely mathematics.

Look at that Mesmer power creepy you alone will have a hell fighting her let a lone defending your team that just got ripped apart by other new crazy metas.

Losing sustainability, team play, burst stacking and ele-sexy well as most of you say destroys are class definition. Unless they gave us wards back like in the first game. CRAZY OP wards or Tempest (Sounds incredible please don’t be like giving us a Porsche but having it equipped with a Honda Fit engine)

This is a big deal of you TSPVP or Raom . We forced them to change that error last year when they tried to nerf it and place it as a grandmaster. Why are they trying to trick us again. I spvp and wvw roam 3-4 hours a day. You can’t split those skills you kill META D/D and Staff eles via conquest and wvw roaming. We have nothing, Elemental Attunement is not a Grandmaster trait.

I play my ele alone 2955 hours and across my account 5557 hours. Trust me please retract this decision you either killed the elementalist or you made Sword main hand a golden god.
